haha even Yachiru can draw better than Rukia :P
Ikkaku's flashback was longer than in the manga but it was really enjoyable.
thanks for all the links

Ha ha, yeah, really. It doesn't have the same "catchiness" to it though, in terms of the visual style...
This episode was awesome, especially considering that it was mostly filler. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, though, since the writers handled the Filler Arc WAY better than the writers for Naruto.

I hope animators continue to follow this trend, streching episodes with canon-like fillers that are fun to watch and have no damage for the plot. Come to think of it, Ikkaku didn't seem that strong in the manga or I didn't get the right impression but anyways, it is a pretty good episode. I'm just glad that they slow down burning up the manga chapters so fast. Though it is a two edged sword, there are so many fights I'm dying to see animated.

Episode 119, 'Zaraki Squad's Secret Story! The Lucky Men.'

Well, this episode more or less evolves around Ikkaku's memories on how he was doing in his old days. He was a very hot-headed person goes around and fight with others. After he was done with a village, he would go to another to challenge strong person. Ikkaku only knows pains and joys through fights. This routine continues until he met Zaraki, his current taichou. Ikkaku lost badly but managed to survive somehow. Zaraki told him that he was going all out and for Ikkaku remaining alive is somewhat miracle. Ikkaku was touched. After seometime, Ikkaku heard that Zaraki was selected to become a taichou after killing a current taichou, Ikkaku and his comrade decided to join Zaraki's squad.
Back to the current situation, Ikkaku somehow manage to kill off the arrancar he was facing.
We have a thread about Bleach episode 119 already so I'm merging this with it.
