@HK- The Machine Girl! One of the best Japanese B-films I've seen in a while! :D

Does that B stand for bullshit??

Something with Jay and Silent Bob? and has violence (like, blood and gunshots and angels with wings torn off and shit)?

Dogma. good luck finding a copy though. Since the Catholic church kinda purged it.

Yeah exactly Dogma,I checked that out at imdb, gonna watch it later tonight.Ive seen it a couple of times, when I was a kid, that monster of shit was gross.

@paperboy
i had really high hopes for machine girl but i had to stop about halfway through it. it was just too ridiculous without enough irony to pull it through, unlike with other films in its genre (ie ichi the killer and evil dead films).

i kinda mentioned this already but if you haven't seen them, check out the first two films in the night watch trilogy (go with the russian cuts, though). there should be enough in there to keep you entertained, hk.

Saw:

Live free or die hard :D man good movie,I seen it once, but it was a cam-rip,but now this was totaly different,I realy enjoyed it,I loved Maggie Q she was so hot, damn,I would think twice if I should kill her if I would be John, great movie, had hot girls and Bruce Willis is still the shit,8/10.

Superbad McLovin, first time Ive seen,I said it was overrated, didnt even watch it till the end and them somehow I got into the movie, cause the lady who sold tickets didnt think my friends were 16 and so we couldnt go into 1408 movie,so we went for Superbad,it was Lithuanian and I was sure that this will suck even more, but I was rolling,it was hella funny and know when Ive seen it again in English,It was bonofied bad ass,Mclovin was the shit,"Whats up gangsters?" :D yeah awesome, gave me some ideas to. 8/10

I Just watched the Movie and it was far above what I expected. It's been a long time since I enjoyed watching a Cop movie. The plot was perfect... it Kept me wanting for more. But Even though Keanu Reeves was the Main caracter, I didn't quite enjoy his performance.

The top 3 actor's performance that had me Hooked:

- Common ( Singer/Actor) : Even though his appearence was short, ( that's what happens when you play the bad Guy...) his play was incredible.

- Forest Whitaker : Don't even Have to explain this one... Perfect.

Street Kings is an awesome movie. I didnt get how critics thought that Street Kings was so-so. But I'm not much of a movie critics, maybe they got other opinions about that movie. It's like when i almost didnt watch Speed Racer because critics said that it's "too colorful". good thing i trusted my judgment and went to see it anyway. :D

Now, i finally saw Atonement on DVD, but i can't seem to finish that movie. I always fell asleep about an hour in to the movie. But it's a good thing I got There Will Be Blood to watch after that, Daniel Day Lewis is awesome in that movie. :D

House must be a really big career boost for Laurie. He's a multi-talented actor and had a lot of roles. But ever since House, he became really famous. It's a big leap from starring Flight of the Phoenix to a big series like that. But he's a great actor. I really like him in Blackadder. :D

I'm not bashing, I'm just expressing my loathing for Tom Cruise.

I've already got an idea for a good Grifter. Either James McAvoy or David Wenham. The great thing about Grifter is that his face is always concealed, and all these guys have to dois dye their hair! :D

Ichimaru Gin n Tonic
August 19, 2008, 08:59 AM

Paper

Angelina Jolie floats my boat any day! :rofl

Ryan Reynolds would make another good Grifter. His funny facial expressions won't be seen due to Grifter's mask, and His voice and humor would go great with Grifters personality. He's also worked with lots of stunt equipment in moveis like Blade Trinity. Though it would be overkill to see him portray another hero role after he plays Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine...

Sin City is the best comic book movie ever. It definitely gets a 10/10 from me.

I saw The Signal yesterday, some dooms day movie about people's brains being manipulated by TV and radio broadcasts, making them kill people. The beginning was pointless. The story was so-so. The ending was pretty bad. While I like when movies need a little brains to understand, this one was just an hour and a half of annoying "plot twists". "My whole thing is that that I saw 'The Dark Knight'. I feel like I'm dumb because I feel like I don't get how many things that are so smart. It's like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I'm like, 'That's not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.' I loved 'The Prestige' but didn't understand 'The Dark Knight'. Didn't get it, still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I'm like, 'I get it. This is so high brow and so f--king smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.' You know what? F-ck DC comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from."

Just saw Hellboy 2:The Golder Army that was one hell of a movie,I so enjoyed it,the fight scenes were beutiful, that prince was great, realy great and acted beutifuly to.Now I know that he will do a good job as Steve Fox in Tekken. Then the one know as Hellboy I so enjoy watching him, very funny, loved the scene when he got drunk with Abraham. Then Jimmy Kimmel said "Check this guy with a toilet seat.." :D Love the movie,It was so much better then the first, that it doesnt have anything against it,just loved it.So gonna check it out when it comes out on DVD,fuuuu, nah realy the first one was good, but the second one just blew me away,I stayed as quite as I possibly could in this movie,I never do that,I always comment the movie, but thsi time I didnt.9/10,would be funny if I rated it at 8 when I rated the first part at 8 :) If you didnt see it,go see it!

Yeah, HellBoy II was really good! And yes, the prince was super amazing. This guy could fight really good and he's not too bad of an actor either.

If ya wondering,he was in Blade II.He played Nomak,if Im not mistaken, the main villain of that movie,I realy like Blade,it was like the first Marvel film Ive seen and its one of my favs to.

Hes gonna make a great performance in Tekken, maybe he should have played someone else other then Steve Fox :) Anyway well see what happens,oh cant wait, cant wait.

You heard Nolans plans for Catwoman??

We love Cher's song "Believe," but forgive us if we find this rumor floated by the Telegraph via The New York Daily News to be a bit less than believable. According to an unnamed studio executive, director Christopher Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman in the third installment of his "Batman" films is… Cher.

Yes, that Cher! Is there any other? The 62-year-old songstress, bagel boy admirer and, let's not forget, Academy Award-winning actress is allegedly up for the role that has previously been filled by such slinky sexpots as Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar. Nolan apparently wants to take the meowing minx in a whole different direction, says the source:

"Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

Nolan's re-imagining of the "Batman" franchise thus far has been both a critical and financial success, so perhaps he's on to something with this cougar version of Catwoman. Cher's certainly got the acting chops ("Moonstruck" anyone?) to take on the role.

Click here to comment. Would you like to see Cher in the role of Catwoman? Is she too old to play the part? Who else would you like to see as Catwoman?

How about Angelina Jolie man?

Az3r
August 28, 2008, 06:19 AM
I think Angelina Jolie's perfect for the Catwoman part, if Mr. Nolan really intended to make the 3rd Batman with Catwoman in it. But I personally want to see Talia al Ghul, because we've seen Ra's al Ghul in the first movie and also I think she's somehow fit in the darker tone of Mr. Nolan's Batman. Not that I think Catwoman doesn't fit here, but you know, maybe a villain we've never seen in other Batman films is refreshing.

i highly doubt that nolan is the least bit interested in dealing with catwoman. that interview was probably a joke (the person was most likely making fun of jon peters). given the level of sophistication that nolan's required for his villains (catwoman doesn't cut it), i think the riddler (david tennant would be best) and black mask (guy pearce for the battle of the spoiled [commonwealth] brats) are the most viable candidates. that is, if nolan has anything to do with the third film in the first place.

Blade The best of its franchise,I loved the fighting scenes, the music..I like vampires alot,I mean Blade is great, but only in the movies,I dont lke the comic or when he was animated in Spider-Man,I realy dont.Loved the opening scene.8/10

Blade 2 Well not as good as the second one, well Wesley Snipes did a good job again in the movie,Del Toro directed everything well, the problem was the actin,if only Del Toro directed the third movie.Luke Goss did a great job,so he did in The Golden Army,I enjoyed watchin him and Wesley.I like Blades style. 7/10

Blade Trinity Now this shit sucked, the worst of the franchise.Liked it only cause of Wesley, theres nothin I can say about it more.So much in-experiance in it,blah.Well atleast I know that Ryan Reynolds fits Deadpool perfectly, cause in this movie he was like Deadpool, its gonna be good I could say,but I cant say about this movie tho. 5.5/10

There have been rumors about Blade 4,but what will happen with Snipes, cause the guy has problems, big problems..and hes 46 years old, dont know if he moves like he used to,but Ive read that he started learnin Capoeira and get this hes a 5th degree black belt, thats sick, okay hes gonna do great,if hes gonna be in it.

Just saw Hellboy 2 last night. I'll say it was a great experience. It's 'lighter' than the previous movie, thus very pleasing to watch. This I didn't expected, because I found the first Hellboy movie is kind of depressing. Tropic Thunder Im gonna re-watch it,I was not in the mood,I couldnt laught at all.But I know it was funny I just couldnt laught,I will give it another chance, cause I still laughed at a couple scenes,Im definantly gonna re-watch it.But for now I give it a 7/10.

Transporter Well this was great, how many times I watch it I still love it.Jason is definantly one of my favs, that movie was probably the best movie he was in,with Snatch.I cant wait for Death Race to come to Lithuania.9/10 This is my type of movie.

Transporter 2 Blah,Jason cant take the entire movie on his shoulders, this movie was good only cause of him.The actors were lame, lame.First one was way ahead of the second one.Atleast in Transporter 3,Robert Kneeper will be in it,gonna be good.I just didnt like the thing that in part one Frank spilled oil on himself so he could be slipery and beat the shit out of everyone and in the second one,it happened again,I mean it wasnt the same as in the first one, but, you know its still used.

Mirrors Forgot to talk about this movie, pff.Well this was better then I expected,I have no idea how I got into that movie in the first place, but I watched and it was very good,it wasnt scary, cause mostly when the scary parts occured I was talkin :D and I won another bet in the movie,I roll.6/10

I watched My Sassy Girl, Hollywood version.

ahem, before anything. Elisha Cuthbert is pretty. And that's an understatement.

and my review: I tried not to compare it with the original, but I couldn't do it, obviously. Korean movie wins by 200%. Hollywood movies lack subtlety, and always assume that the viewers are stupid by letting the narration explain everything, and show too much.

Although the Korean one needed cut scenes (they dragged a bit), I'd rate it an 9/10

And the Hollywood version of the movie would have to be... 5/10.

the incredible hulk -> way better than it's predecessor. More story, better action scenes and better villain. The final fight was awesome. Imo they did a good job though I think better would be possible too - oh reference: stark walks in at the end for the avangers stuff

Iron man -> this is how comic movies should be. Iron man was a masterpiece is in storytelling (imo it beated the dark knight on that level, yet last one was better for other reasons). Robert downey jr. was awesome too. Yet again a great final fight - oh reference: after the credits, fury (samual l jackson) talking about avengers

I was pumped, too, because of how ridiculously awesome the new Rambo movie was (what can I say, I love gore). So I thought, hey if Stallone can make a sequel so many years later, surely Lucas should be able to do it. I was sorely mistaken.

Most of the movie I was like WTF:
Aliens are you fucking kidding me. Oh Indy he's your son. No shit, I didn't see that coming [/sarcasm].

Now I must go back and watch the original trilogy and hope that I can forget about this movie ever having the title Indiana Jones ;).

Gonna suck bigtime... Lets hope that Toriyama does something about this abomination before it reaches the silver screen... DBZ should stick to animated characters IMO. This Hollywood cockup is gonna hurt the franchise so bad.

From what I see in the previews. It looks like they will not stick to the original plot of Dragonball. I did not see Vegeta either but I think the movie will be ok. Also if the movie only had Asian characters, the movie would not make money here in the states, so I guess that's why they have some Americans in there.

Disturbia to me was an awesome movie played by Shia LaBeouf (Transformers). It's a horror/thriller movie, a very tense, subtle thriller with a noteworthy performance from Shia LaBeouf.

88 Minutes, starring Al Pacino, wasn't as bad as I thought, too. It turns out really intense, though I couldn't really understand all the law/psychology talk... ^^;

Just saw Made of Honor (I know, I'm late...). It was really interesting. I wonder why I never thought of watching that before. Hmm...

It wasn't bad. I'm not a fan of that character POV camera still. I think it limited the character who was holding the camera. Slow at some parts. I started yawning. Otherwise I thought it was entertaining enough.

Burn After Reading

I just saw an awesome old finnish film! Calmari Union (1985) tells a story of 15 men named Frank and one Pekka. Seeking for better live, they decide to travel from Kallio (suburb of capital Helsinki) to Eira, another part of the city. They start their brave rek thorough the middle of Helsinki. Only two of them make it to Eira alive, just to find out that Eira is already populated.

It was hilarious! Roles by the biggest celebrities of the 80's Finland. Seemed to be some kinf of an inside joke. Absolutely awesome. Great absurd humor. I really encourage you to watch it if the opportunity arises! Though I guess there is no chance to see any finnish films outside of Finland.

I just saw Twilight... here is my review from another site:

And "She's not one of us Edward"

#1. WHERE IS THAT LINE??? The most quoted line from the trailer and build up was NO WHERE to be seen.

Okay now for actual review,

As a fan of the book i was going in with higher expectations then some, and after reading some reviews ( C's (person on that forums)) i must say that my expectations dropped, but because of that I LOVED this movie, it was almost everything i expected.

The movie could have been improved with a few more key scenes (Bella/Carlise , More Alice especially in the hotel i mean just one scene with her and Jasper and then calling Edward would have been awesome.)

And because of those missing scenes it isn't a perfect film, but anyone expecting perfection from Twilight obviously hasn't read the books lol.

Alot was riding on the casting for the vital roles, The Cullens and Bella, I really loved all of the actors, I did want to take a comb to Ransom Spunk (Robert Patterson) hair but I really think that Kirsten Stewart *?* was a really good Bella, she was exactly like i saw her (though a tiny bit smaller).

Yes Edward is a creepy stalker, and Bella falls way to in love with him, but it was true to the book.

I did have issue with the Cullen's house, it just wasn't anything like i imagined it would be, but those are all minor.

There was also a few lines i think could have been changed and improved the scenes ("What if im not the hero? what if im the bad guy" that just sounds wrong why couldn't it be villain ????)

The minor cast was very well cast and acted, Mike Newton has to be my favorite and I LOVE him and Jessica, you could see how Jessica couldn't keep her eyes off him from the moment she was on the screen.

Overall i thought it was a amazing movie, it could have been better but it could have been a LOT worse.

4/5

(Tossed it in spoilers just in case people didnt want to read reviews before they saw it )

has anyone seen max payne yet?

i saw last wednesday...and i wouldn't pay to see it again. it was a good film, good action, the cinematography and animation for the demons and that were good, but i think there were a few plotholes for how certain characters got to where they were and some characters didn't get enough screen time imo to really have an impact in the film. 3/5

Clarification with the Reviewers Bias grade: 1-4 indicates that I didn't like the movie even before watching it. 5 means that I know nothing about the movie, and 6-10 means that I'm somewhat part of it's fanbase.

---Just saw Twilight today and I thought that it was ok. ---

WARNING: contains spolers
I've never read the book so I can't really compare it with anything. All in all I thought that the movie was good. The production values were decent, the acting was decent to some extent (Kristen Stewart's acting just doesn't do it for me... I was only able to stomach her acting because I find her cute), and the whole feel of the movie was ok. Kudos to the makeup and costume design department for giving the Cullens a really creepy look!

I only have one complaint; the scene where Laurent warns the Cullens about James' plans was a but odd for me. They never explained what caused him to sell out his companions. It was a very literal and brash use of Deus Ex Machina. If the movie was supposed to be gritty, I'd understant, but the fact that the movie isn't supposed to be gritty...well you get what I'm pointing at.

Also, I don't get why chicks swoon over Robert Pattinson and not swoon over Quentin Tarentino... They share a striking resemblance! The only difference is that the latter has 10 times more talent.

Visual effects/ Cinematography: 9/10
Audio: 9/10
Acting performance: 7/10
Direction: 7/10
Story progression: 5.75/10
Main plot: 6/10
Reviewers Bias: 5/10

Overall: 6.96 I'd sum it up as a teeniebopper chick-flick with vampires

---I saw Zack and Miri make a porno just the other day and...---

It was great! There wasn't a single moment where I didn't laugh my ass off! The sheer stupidity mixed with the random comedy just piled up and made a work of genious, rolled in with a nice pair of Katie Morgan boobies!

Visual effects/ Cinematography: 7/10
Audio: 8/10
Acting performance: 7/10
Direction: 9/10
Story progression: 8/10
Main plot: 7/10

Overall: 8. The movie board authorities are dumb fucks to no let a movie like this show on the cinemas!

well i actually took my time to watch Zack and Miri, paperboy, and I was hugely disappointed. I mean, the mushy part didn't fit the whole mood of the movie. It felt all too... forced, or contrived. >.< The only good thing about the movie was Jay (from Jay and Silent Bob). I'd give it a 4/10 at best... and the 4 could only have been made possible because Jay was there.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno not that useless piece of crap from the HSM franchise.

You mite say he is 'useless' but Disney sure as heck isn't with over $218,688,539 made and still opening in countries, and also the countless millions they make off the merchandise, Zak Effron isn't 'totally' useless lol.

Anyways good reviews :)

That was kindof explained in the books, and it should be explained a little more in following movies.

@BB- I'm not a fan of mushy scenes, but Kevin Smith and Seth Rogen can do no wrong!

@ssjohn- He's a useful manwhore for Disney to pimp to little the young masses... I miss the days when Disney was about getting your moneys worth through decent, timeless works of art...

I'm not part of the book's fanbase.

I just watched Metal: A Headbangers Journey again, back to back with Global Metal for the first time! As a "Metalhead" I'm really proud of the fact that Sam Dunn took a step forward and made two difinitive documentaries on what metal really is, in it's best, and in it's worst! He and his crew delved deep into various forms of metal, all the way from makeup and lipstick clad glam to cross burning and all hating Norwegian black metal! Both documentaries are sure to be enjoyed by metalheads and others alike!

I just saw The day the earth stood still and I found it to be quite boring. Though I have to admit that the acting was ok. Keanu Reeves' acting was great as Klaatu. His cold monotone did great great in giving off the "creepy emotionless alien" vibe.

Saw Seven Pounds recently. If you haven't watched this movie then go do it now. It's easily one of the best movies to come out in 2008. One of Will Smith's best performances. try your absolute best not to spoil the movie with plot summaries, trailers, etc. I watched it without knowing anything about the movie other then that it was a drama. When the credits hit I was blown away. It's just that good of a movie. It's not action or fast paced but I'm sure it will grab your heart.

Enjoy, happy holidays.:amuse

Wall-E (which I originally thought was just environmentalist propaganda, turned out to be a very witty and awesome love story)

Just saw "Curious Case of Benjamin Button". I should say it's the most overrated film ever. It had no climax, took too long to finally end, the acting wasn't even that fantastic (or probably because the movie was so boring the good actors really couldn't do anything).

Not sure if I agree with you there. Saw it yesterday on the swedish premiere and I wouldn't say it's overrated. It wasn't quite as magnificent as I thought it would but the cinematography was absolutely top notch (should be, with the budget Fincher had handed to him). I agree the acting was a bit below expected and it didn't quite make the script justice, but my expectations were in the roof and to me it was still a beautiful and great film. 4/5

Everyone I know who have seen The Spirit say it's pure shit. Frank Miller does great, and I mean great graphic novels.. But directing movies just isn't his thing. Sin City is great but it would most likely have been mediocre if Robert Rodriguez hadn't been there to do most of the work. And then that scenario happened, and The Spirit was the result of that. While I don't decourage anyone (except fans of the graphic novel) from watching it, I don't recommend it.
