The title says all :D

Actually, I think that the best pair of teacher and pupil would be Gai and Lee ^^ I really like, how Gai is always concerned about Lee, and Lee, how he sees his sensei as .. probably a god xD And his "Gai-sensei" is just cool. Not to mention, both specialize in taijutsu ^^

The funniest would be Naruto and Jiraya, and their own ways of doing funny stuff, but if they have, they can be really serious xD

Don't to mention Yondaime and Kakashi, we know quiet this relation through Kakashi Gaiden ^^

And lastly, Shikamaru and Asuma. After Immortals arc, I think that it gives queit a lot, how Asuma tought of Shikamaru as a favourite student he had, and how they both eveolved through the series (actually Asuma also if You didn't knew ;p).

Ok, feel free to vote and express your opinions, it's nice to read more favourites one (I don't mean "the strongest", just personal favourites xD)

I voted for kakashi and yondaime. It must have been the most powerful duo. They were both recognized genius and they both keep their cool in most times. I think they're pretty alike, as cool characters they are.
Naruto and Jiraya would make a good combo, but their age difference is too big. Same for sasuke and oro. Gai and Lee are kinda annoying :P but they have an impressive teacher-student relashionship... probably the strongest.
Asuma and shika wasnt one of the most elaborate relashionship... thats for sure. I mean, they spent lots of time playing that game similar to chess but we've never seen them training whatsoever. Tsunade seems too cold towards sakura. At least that was my view :/ she praised her rarely if i remember well, and sakura always treated for 'master', or 'tsunade-sama'. So its seems to me that tsunade isnt that close to sakura.

I had to vote for yondaime and kakashi, too. Those two together are strongest on the list. Hell yondaime alone is the best, but you got two extreme jutsu genuises on the same team, thats raw power.

I might have voted for Jiraiya and Naruto, but the newest Naruto anime episode did it for me, when Gai said "That sword....is your weapon, isn't it?" and Lee was amazed with his insight. I don't know if I'm the only one but I never really liked the fact that in almost all the teams (if not all of them), there was a teacher-favorite_student relationship. But that does not mean that I don't have a favorite so here I go :

Jiraya & Naruto
Although I like the relationship they have, especially when it seems to be more than master-student (when Jiraya buy Naruto an ice-cream) and when they are "angry" at each other, I find strange that Jiraya taught Naruto to use Kyubi although it hurts him a lot. Ok, Kyubi gives Naruto a lot of power but remember how Naruto was after KN4. It does not make Jiraya a bad guy but it is strange. Not to forget that he taught Naruto the famous "that jutsu" although he told him not to use it. Hmmm... Really strange.

Kakashi & Sasuke
I never liked this "couple", mainly because I always had the feeling that Sasuke was only "interested" in Kakashi because of his strength. He learned as much as he could from him (better chakra control, Chidori) and then abandoned him... and I don't like people who abandon Kakashi.

Gai & Lee
Very funny (because of the length to which Lee goes to resembles his master) and moving (especially when Gai said that were Lee to die then he would die with him).

Tsunade & Sakura
Who didn't think about even before Tsunade's first appearance because of all Kakashi's drawing with Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura with their summonings ? Well, I don't like this one either but perhaps it's because it not as developed as Jiraya-Naruto or Oro-Sasuke. At least it allowed Sakura to get stronger, which is a good thing.

Asuma & Shikamaru
Funny because of the opposion between their respective personalities despite the mutual respect. I really liked how determined Shika was to take revenge for his master although he usually is lazy.

Yondaime & Kakashi
I found young Kakashi too disrespectful toward Yondi, with the latter having too much problems keeping Kakashi "under control" (If I remember correctly, when Kakashi scolded Obito, Yondi only smiled and said it was not important). Don't like it.

Orochimaru & Sasuke
More or less like Kakashi-Sasuke with both Oro and Sasuke being clear with what they had in mind : power. Yet, although I don't really like this one, I still find the "ending" good, although the "disciple kills master" theme is not really original. And a good point for Orochimaru for not making Sasuke wears the same clothes as him :D

Kurenai & Hinata
Almost absent (I don't even remember if we saw them interacting in the manga or if it was only in the anime) but I liked the fact that Kurenai cared for her student and complimented her on her growth after the fight against Neji.

My favourite would therefore be :
1 - Asuma / Shikamaru
2 - Gai / Lee
3 - Kurenai / Hinata

PS : A little off-topic but I read in one of the posts that Yondi's real name was arashi kazama. Yet, it wasn't shown in the manga and since there has been a lot of speculations about his name, I was wondering : canon or fan-made ? Thanks in advance.

I voted for Asuma and Shikamaru because I really think that Asuma really understood and accepted Shikamaru long before anyone else in the village did. He saw past Shikamaru's lazy act and helped him hone his skills with Shougi and things like that.

I just also love how dedicated Shikamaru was after Asuma's death and even though he'd been one of my favorites since the Chunnin Exams, he moved even closer to the top in that Arc.

Actually there are a lot of these bonds forged in Naruto. Sarutobi-Jiraiya or even Sarutobi-Orochimaru relationships are interesting. I think I would like to see how Jiraiya teaches the 4th Hokage. I'll bet it's gonna so interesting and so cool. I wonder why it isn't listed at all. It is such a significant relationship between two of the best shinobis of Konoha.

The only reason i chose Kakashi and Sasuke was becasue they are actually a good team. Sasuke can learn and develop his Sharingan since Kakashi also has one.

If only Orochimaru had the Sharingan!

and the biggest factor is... they're not cheesy - he taught him till he was a jounin ( jiraiya naruto was only for a short period of time , sasuke killed orochimaru ) and the only other option is sakura and tsunade..... and that aint nearly cool enough :D

Jiraiya and Naruto had one of the best relationship in my opinion. Plus they were entertaining, the way both bickered. It felt like they were more of a family than just student and teacher. In time, Naruto considered Jiraiya like a grandfather, and Jiraiya considered Naruto like his grandson. Jiraiya's decision to never give up came from Naruto. I enjoy seeing their interactions with each other.

I think it's Minato and his team...they represented everything that was shinobi...even their conflicts within the team...and I think that's because it was a time of war...Team 7 somehow loses substance, because of the lack of shinobiness in the original meaning...

Considering the only one we see at any large degree is Jiraiya and Naruto, I'm gonna have to go with that one. Kakashi and Sasuke's heart to heart was a simple one time "Don't live your life for revenge." And that was it.

Jiraiya and Naruto actually seem like family. The same can't be said with Tsunade and Sakura, Oro and Sasuke, Kakashi and Sasuke, or anyone else I can think of for that matter.

Though Lee and Gai is a very, very close second.
