So it's time for our second Popularity Poll predictions thread here at MH.

Most likely Naruto and Sasuke will take the 1st 2 spots. I believe Akatsuki members are loosing popularity as they are loosing too many members, lowering their overall popularity. Sasori, Itachi and deidara may loose the top 10. Still, I believe Tobi has increased dramatically his popularity over the recent chapters so he may be top 5. Kakashi has the top 5 granted. Asuma's death may give him a place up high, along with shikamaru, his avenger.

EDIT: Oh, I totally forgot Kabutimaru or whatever he's called right now... Can ppl vote on Catwoman's granddaughter? I would!

Huh. I wonder how Iruka always manages to sneak up there? I mean, jeez, he's got to be the very least featured 'main character' out of the entire manga- ESPECIALLY part II. But i digress-

-Sasuke and Naruto will steal spots 1 & 2 (they both lost popularity in my opnion, though)

-Shikamaru finally gets the attention he deserves for his awesomeness in spot 3 or 4

-Kakashi fights with Shika for spot 3, up in the air on who gets it, though

-Gaara and Itachi and Deidara fill up somewhere between spots 4-6 (Itachi gets points for his "There's a BIG STORM COMING" cameo, lol)

-Akatsuki fills in a couple of the 7-10 spots, Sakura might sneak in there somewheres

Personally, I see Sasuke as number one. There is absolutely no way that he won't be put up there. I dislike his character but there's no denying that he's pretty damn cool. I'm not sure if Naruto will be second, I think that Itachi will be way up there. Again, Shikamaru will be moved up because of his defeat of Hidan. And Kabuto will most likely be up there as well.

As with everyone else my opinion came into play and I really don't like Suigetsu's character so far, he seems a little too parallel to Sasuke in his goals and his character isn't that much different from some past characters(Haku*cough*). Besides outside the top ten is a shot in the dark really, I think it's highly improbable that I'll get even half the positioning right let alone get all the right characters. It's just a guess after all.

I personally think he will at least get into the top 30. I hope at least. Few characters have had the chance to shine in part 2 with Naruto going to missions after Gaara, Sasuke and Orochimaru. That's the reason I believe people like Suigetsu who have done something "cool" (like his first encounter with Sasuke) in part 2 can easily gain a big fanbase. Although if Karin gets in the top 30 I bet it's only because there are a lot of pervs around :s

Wow..... Naruto Sasuke and Kakashi automatically make it in the top 3. Anyways. since the last poll was chapter 292, I think we shouls focus on people who have actually done something from chapter 293 to the present. So no Haku or Zabuza, nor Gaara (even though they're all Bad Asses). So here's my list:

1.)Sasuke Uchiha: Because he's killed a sanin/ former akatsuki member and he has organized his own 4-man cell.
2.)Kakashi Hatake: Layed out the base work for Naruto's Most destructive jutsu yet. Also has obtained the mangekyo sharingan which makes him even more unapposable.
3.)Naruto Uzimaki: Has begun to surpass Kakashi and is steadily closing the gap between sasuke and himself. Has defeated a member of Akatsuki in one on one combat (something sasuke has not done YET)
4.)Asuma Sarutobi: One of the coolest Jounin around. Also he was one of the 12 Guard Ninjas of Fire who protected the Land of Fire's daimyo. Besides all that.. he knocked up Kurenai.'nuff said.
5.)Suigetsu: One of the most laid back characters. Seemingly on par with Sasuke (without the curse seal). Cocky and noted by Kisame to be the next Zabuza.
6.)Itachi Uchiha: The storm is coming........ and we all will wet our pants when it happens.
7.)Kakuza: He fought the 1st hokage and is still living (well was still living) anyone who can fight a Kage and live to talk about it deserves respect.
8.)Yamato: The ability to control a Jinchuriki is something you can't take for granted. Imagine if he was an Akatsuki spy all along?(Though that's far-fetched)
9.)Tobi: Hmmmm.... the mask scores chicks. Besides the fact that he was cut by Sasuke's swprd and freaking walked it off. I mean, who the fuck does that? (And I'm skepticle about him being Obito... he said Sasuke was too fast for him. if he were a sharingan user that wouldn't be true.) Also Imagine him and Naruto meeting..... it'll be very awkward.
10.)Hinato Hyuuga: She's been absent all this time. Finally she's in an arc and what's better, she's teamed up with her beloved. Because of the severity of this mission I can expect some sort of development between her and Naruto. Wether it be she confesses to him or dies protecting him or some shit that'll make us all foam at the mouth. Also we get to see her new Jutsu (which is probably that old jutsu she used in the bug filler).:amuse

I think think, beyond the obvious picks, that, unlike a fair number of people who are picking Sakura to be in the top 10... Hinata will be ranked higher than Sakura. Mostly because so many people love Hinata and the new arc having her teamed up with Naruto builds on that hope. There are still many, who even though Sakura is more useful now, can't stand her. That's why there are so many Sakura bashing fan fics out there.

Kakashi has always been very popular in Japan, and fangirls like nothing more than to pair up bishies. You give 'em a page where both Kakashi and Iruka are blushing, and you have an instant favorite yaoi pairing. I'm hoping that this next poll will finally give somebody else more deserving to be in the doublespread, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Also, bear in mind that the voters have likely not gotten too used to Karin, Suigetsu and Juugo yet. They're all still relatively new and may not even be considered that much.

How come people in japan dont like Orochimaru. That dude is a total badass and deserves to be on the double page spread.
Anyway the top 3 will be Sasuke, Kakashi and Naruto....and after that is hard to predict. But I'm guessing Tobi will rise since he's very cool (unless thet dont like him just like Oro). Shika will also be in the top 10 together with Hidan and Kakuzu. I'm also hoping Asuma and AL will be on the page spread. As for the recent introduced team Snake I'm thinking that only Suigetsu will make it.

Probably the same reason Jiraiya has dropped out of the polls lately, hitokugutsu, and Tsunade's never in it. Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Tsunade are all "older" characters and Japan typically likes to go for younger (or younger-seeming) characters. Jiraiya would probably be on every spread otherwise.

I Just looked at polls which You provided here GK <and thx, we didnt need to go back to chapters and look for them> and thought how story developed, and how it developed from the last one poll, so my bets for people in the poll are <without any particular order, but I think 100% of them in top30>

Now, I would like to predict the order of people :D

1. Sasuke - I think he will defiently win, just because people will vote for his coolness ;p He was nr1 when actually he wasn't in manga, and now his in, so nothing to say, Saske will be nr1..
2. Naruto - I hope he will be second, as main character, not as the last poll (and maybe people will remmebr his four kyubi ramapge, which in poll 292 I think peple didnt knew then..) <whats more, I would like to also say, that he can also be in 5 position.. because without including his rampage back then, he only developed RasenShuriken :x>
3. Kakashi - because in my opinion his always just the third <not always, but in my opinion overall>
4. Iruka - just because his always paired with Kakashi in yaoi, and people from Japan love this... that's why his always in the polls.. damn ;p
5. Shikamaru - because of his development latly xD
6. Deidara - I think he has many fans, including me actually ;p

Yes, we can always ask why Japan loves so much Iruka, who is always.. in polls in top10 if I recall corectly :x That's amazing, but afterall, Japanese people has diffenrt views sometimes ;p

1)Sasuke - I don't really need to say more,do I?He's cool,he's been hogging most of the pages in the recent chapters,he killed Oro,his fights are cool,the majority of Japanese readers seem to love him...Throw in the legions of crazy fangirls and we have ourselves an obvious winner.

2)Naruto - 'cause of his RasenShuriken,and the Hidan+Kazuku arc.Also,he's the main character.However Sasuke has been taking centerstage most of the time lately so I think Naruto's more likely to end up with 2nd place.

3)Kakashi - Everyone loves Kakashi-sensei!It's just that the hordes of Sasuke fangirls overwhelm the Kakashi fans...Well,I'm not sure about his exact position in the top 10 but I'm pretty sure he'll be there.The only thing is that he's not very likely to go beyond #3...

It would be interesting if someone translated some of the reader reviews to observe why recent reviews have been so critical.

I'll offer a "top 5", anyway:

1.Kakashi (His character has remained fairly consistent; there's no reason for him to lose votes.)
2.Naruto (Character development is greatly appreciated -- Naruto's received plenty of that in recent chapters. For the first time - in what seems like ages - he recently reiterated his dream of becoming Hokage.)
3.Sasuke? (I'm unsure, but based on impressions from reviews of amazon.co.jp (again, I'm not certain), Sasuke's not doing too well. The real reason why Naruto doesn't recently win these polls is because the author is putting too much meanings and pains on this character.He wants Naruto to suffer everytime he has to do something because he wants to insist on the fact that he has guts and that he sacrifices himself for others.But people doesn't want to see too much bad reality in this kind of mangas,they want naive heroes that act cool and just smash every enemy,mostly because the readers of this manga are just kids(and the female kids are the stupidest among them!).I think the stupidest episode was the one where they find out that the rasenshuriken causes great damages to Naruto's body.That way the author has made ridiculous all the previous great training and now Naruto continues to have just a few jutsu.And that's not enough;Kakashi said that Naruto is better than him,but still nobody thinks to promote Naruto to at least Chuunin.And even after the training, when they decided to go after akatsuki, He still needed to ask averybody else what to do.The author doesn't seem to understand that there's something strange if someone that was skilled enough to kill Kakuzu that way then act as a dumb and is still just a Genin.Anyway,this post is becoming too long,so I'll end it saying that the author of Naruto is simply a bastard that in one of the first manga chapters wrote that Sasuke was his favourite character because his eyes were difficult to draw!!!

Regardless of the popularity polls, kishimoto makes many great characters, which obviously cater to different types of people. My overall favourite character has got to be Kakashi because he is so cool, though i love many other characters. Naruto is very much like me in personality, although i'm kinda halfway between him and Shikamaru! Jiraiya is great because he is legendary in power yet his human faults balance that out. As my avatar shows i particularly like Kimimaru, that was such a great period in the anime and manga, not that the stuff now isnt equally awesome. During that part of the series i was amazed when Choji took his butterfly form.

Actually, Sasuke is the only leaf ninja to beat an Akatsuki member single-handedly.

Shikamaru could not have done it without first observing Asuma against Hidan, so in that sense, he did have help - albeit in advance, and he didn't want Asuma to die, of course. But without seeing Hidan in action first, he would have been caught off guard just as Asuma was.

Shikamaru is deadly if he knows the weaknesses and strengths of his enemy, but as far as first time battles against unknown enemies go, where he has to think fast on his foot, he usually does need help.

;o I did an account especially for this purpose since apparently people had stopped posting ever since October 2009. And things had happened ever since. Things might change but I assure you that three characters will certainly make it top 5: Sasuke, Naruto and Itachi. There are chances for Shikamaru too, very high too. So, here is what I think and reasons:

(5) Kakashi - his apparent death had to be an impact for the readers and simply Japanese people like him. Not any other comments, since I don't really bother to study him and such.
(4) Deidara - Seriously. This guy seems to be the most popular Akatsuki member so far (source: Wikipedia). His death also brought him high popularity, also his huge boom explosion and the way he made Sasuke look like a rag.
(3) Naruto - Yes, the main character is most likely to be only around it. Though he could be higher too. Around second. But, his only improvement were his abilities. Sage mode, Rasenshuriken...He seems to become a bit annoying with his obsession for Sasuke and in my eyes, loses popularity.
(2) Itachi - You've heard me. The last anime arc, about Itachi's pursue sure was a good one. Though, do I even need to explain myself? He was proven to be the good guy, he turned the Naruto world upside down and also DIED. That's like a ton of popularity gained all together.
(1) Sasuke - I know I am not the first person to say this. But come on. He certainly did a LOT of things. Maybe he's the character that Kishimoto had struggled to develop most in the entire manga ever since he killed Orochimaru. He killed Orochimaru, made a new team, killed Itachi, killed Danzo, joined Akatsuki. What else is there to say? Oh yes, he is ADORED by the Japanese people and girls mostly, even people that don't like him might vote. Some could see him as the popularity reason for Naruto's recent chapters. Only might, since he seems to become the main psycho antagonist of the story. But maybe that's something making him cooler. (I am not a fan myself, just being realistic)

That was it... I think in Top 10 will also be Tobi/Madara, Pein/Nagato, Gaara, Shikamaru, MAYBE Suigetsu and Hinata (epic confession much).
