They wouldn't turn a manga about high school football players into a pro football player manga. I mean they might fast forward to an ending but it really wouldn't mesh with overlying story. I'd be kind of sad since I spend so much time discussing ES21 lol. Oh well, guess there's always the next Inagaki manga.

I knew it was ending soon but this will be pretty rushed. Can't say I'm not sad to see it go.

I doubt there will be another series. Eyeshield has already shined it's brightest, I doubt Shueisha would push for a spin-off.

I don't think ES21 needs a spinoff. It needed better editors. Editors that could have given this a better send off. I know I sound bitter but it stinks that I'm watching a manga that was up there with One Piece fall because of ratings and a rushed story.

But as I said in another thread here, given its popularity here and in Japan, I'm hoping it'll be established as one of the "classics" of the genre that's still read and respected for years to come, like Ranma and Evangelion. Maybe it won't be as popular as those two, but it doesn't need to be, because it survived quite well enough on its own.

Of course, that's up to every one of you fans out there, and how well you spread the word to future generations

People keep saying ES21 is popular in the states. Outside of my ring of friends, I don't know a lot of other people that are familiar with the series, let alone read it. Hell, A-kon 20 was two weeks ago and I only saw one Hiruma. Both years, I believe I purchased the little ES21 paraphernalia that was there (Last year, MAX DEVILPOWER!, this year Field of Colors). Maybe it's just the southwest though. But I guess I can be grateful that it hasn't been propagated on the level of Bleach and Naruto. :)

Random question: They typically DO release the rest of the colour pages in an artbook right XD? It'd suck if they didn't D: Eyeshield has made me waste countless amounts of cash and I don't regret it at all. :) (I even have doubles of volumes just 'cuz they're super cheap in HK and bought them for the plane ride home LOL....but also wanted the original Japanese ones HAHHAHA.)

First artbook was released around the time of the match against Shinryuuji, so about 140 chapters ago. I think they should have enough material to make a new artbook (and databook, for that matter), so yeah, I think (and really hope) it'll get released at some point :p

yamato and agon together. agon's impluse and the caesar's charge. sena can only 4th dimension-4 devil bat ghosts as far as we know

i gotta say with the line up tokyo has...it definitely looks hard. Although enma does have some good guys as well, tokyo has more, a lot more. I'd have to see Unsui' worth to make a final assumption. faster, around 4.7... but this summer he had improved drastically... his backpedal speed have gone up to 4.7... so now, he can run 4.7 in all directions...

Yeah, I've been reading it for so long now that it became an weekly part of my life. Now there's an emptiness there every Friday that One Piece just can't fill. Hopefully we'll hear something from Inagaki next season.

Well, the week after ES21 ended, I got to meet my cute newborn nieces, had the best birthday ever, and it was decided I'd spend a month in Japan in October. I even won 10 euros at a lottery, something which usually never happens. This has been one of the best weeks of my life, so you'll have to excuse me for not joining the group of depressed ones :sweat

It does feel weird not to translate anything on Fridays, though...

I am currently filling the gap by posting on the Shin Prince of Tennis boards. Problem is though, prince of tennis is a monthly manga. Which means we spend most of the time talking about how awesome the guy who crucified the other is.(Yes. A tennis player crucified someone. HE'S THAT BADASS)

But I miss ES21...But hey, until the authors announce their new work, we still have hope. We can still hope for a sequel.

You know, now that I watched the anime, I think that the Bando match was MUCH more epic in the anime than in the manga. The rest of the anime has poor pacing overall though.

I liked the anime purely for the sound, the music and voices were great. Some poor animation, but I think it's more good than bad.

I loved this manga the only thing that to me is close to not been anywhere near accurate. One thing i didnt like is how the blk guy is the best athlete out of all of them its not really just that but the fact i saw only one blk guy on the whole football team when most amreican football teams are about 70 percent to 50 percent blk. and japan wouldnt have stood a chance against an american team. but i gues that is why it is a comic but overall i loved this comic and i think the main reason i was so harsh on it is beacuse i played football for 7 years linebacker so maybe thats why but i really loved this cuz it was the only football manga i ever seen

true i watched the highschool underarmor all american bowl, and about 80% of the players were black, but that being said, most of them only ran 4.3, but i have seen a couple black players run 4.2, but if japan had played american in real life yes they would have killed them, simply to fast and to physical the only advantage japan had would be tactical advantage

Anime covers up to most of volume 27. Then they canceled the anime because, to put it bluntly, next to the manga, it sucks >.> (on top of that they were catching up with the manga on a regular basis and had troubles coming up with filler episodes)

I quite enjoyed the Anime. Bad animation and some "off" artwork, but the music and voice acting was flawless.
