Hey there! I was wondering if anyone else has been reading The Enchained Spiritual Beast [GA-REI] by Hajime Segawa. I read that it's being published in Monthly Shonen Ace. I'm read up until the end of volume 3, but there's already a 4th volume out there that might not be translated yet.

story:

Kensuke Nimura has grown up hiding in terror from ghosts only he can see, but everything changes for him when he meets Kagura Tsuchimiya, the most recent in a long line of exorsists working for the Japanese government to protect the world from the supernatural, and the guardian of the powerful spirit beast Byakuei. When Kensuke is given the chance to join her he is thrown into a war against an enemy who is already dead...

I was reading Ga-Rei too at some point in time too, and it reminds me of Inuyasha, looking for the lost 'shards'. Anyway, part of Vol 4 has been scanlated by Entropy (http://www.entropy-manga.com). You can find it there. :)

I'm reading it as well. I think it's awesome, but when I tried to describe it to my friend, it sounded exactly like bleach.

"So there's this guy... who can see ghosts and one day he gets rescued from this evil spirit thing by this girl who's involved in this behind-the-scenes ghost-fighting work... So he basically gets pulled into this behind-the-scenes world, and..."

Not saying that it's bad. I really love this series. I just didn't realize until I was describing it xDD

I'm just wondering if any group is like translating and scanlating this manga.
Because I think Entropy droped it

Volume six comes out next week, hopefully a new group will pick it up. Since official releases won't come out till 2009 (probably) it could be a while otherwise. There is happier news though: an anime has been announced.

2009??? Damn. Hopefully there is an unscrupulous scanlator out there who picks it up. I can't wait to see it animated.

I'm unscrupulous enough to pick it up ^ ^

Volume six raws are out, if there's an interested translator I'd scanlate.

Oh >.< so it was dropped, I was wondering why there aren't any new chapters out.

Good luck on scanlating it!

I read all the available chapters and I am eagerly awaiting more to come out and be translated so I know what is going on.

Starting up a new scanlation group. I have chp 38 released and chp 39 translated, cleaned, proofed, but not typeset. It'll probably be out by tomorrow too if i don't die of sleep deprivation... chapters are fairly large for their size so i'll try to get caught up (it's a monthly, right?) by september. by then i'll be in college so I might have to release very slooooooooooooowly (translation takes a long time)

Raws (http://mangahelpers.com/m/ga-rei/raws/) posted on MH seem uptodate, since they are posted roughly monthly. But I am not 100% sure. :D So, that would be Raw 45 and Raw 46 comes "soon" :)

Well Ga rei manga was superb , I loved it alot. ^^
it could have easily become one of the best manga ever.

but IMO due to current arc it is going downhill by every chapter , I have read RAWs in MH till chapter 46 so I know it first hand. This is so sad that such great manga is being ruined due to the fact of excessive Yuri based fan service :(

well i am now following Ga rei Tsuina no show (http://mangahelpers.com/m/ga-rei-tsuina-no-shou-) , with lots of hopes , it seems to be better than original ga rei manga considering current arc.

According to the MH page, isn't the series finished? How are you following it?

Okay, I read it. Seems like MH wrongly declared it as a finished series.

It is finished. It was just a one volume spin off introducing Tsuina and company. There is only a scanlation for the first of the 4 chapters.
