hey Crayola,.. thanks for the scan, i always read the PoT LOL,..
kay heres some question that i am curios
1. why did you choose sports manga as your main project ?
2. what sports that you like ?
3. do you love harvest moon very much LOL ?
4. is your secret project a manga called "Dear Boys" ? LOL (i am guessing from your signature LOL)

thats all,.. thank you :p

Crayola
October 02, 2007, 06:14 PM
1. i chose sports mangas because I like them the most. Like the drama and action in a match while they strive for the championship.

2. I personally like to play basketball, American football, and a little tennis. I'm not so good at tennis.

3. I love playing Harvest moon, but after I get through the game for a few years, I usually get bored.

4. The secret project was Beach Stars which has been released already. But it'll be stalled until I can get raws for chapters 2 to 6.

:hi5 crayola Just try to stopping here and want ask some question for you? can i? :wtf
1. is crayola = crayon?
2. Why you think that moria's arc such a brong arc? Are you hate zombie? :wtf

Crayola
October 02, 2007, 10:22 PM
1. yea, crayola came from crayon because i used to use the name kornycrayon. I was thinking random words with KC because those were the intials of the girl i used to like. Also because crayon has RAY in it which is from my name. I eventually switched to crayola becayse I thought it sounded better. Then rycolaa came from rearranging the letters in crayola.

2. I think the Moria arc is pretty boring, dunno why, but zombies don't seem so interesting. Seems like something so expected and their powers aren't anything spectacular.

next question
Your fave food? and how long for make a scanlation?

Crayola
October 02, 2007, 11:12 PM
ok favorite food has to be in like traditional chinese retaurants, where you order the shrimp with walnuts. It's like Fried Jumbo Shrimp with Mayo, and its surrounded with walnuts and broccoli.

Scanlations overall take maybe somewhere from 2 to 4 hours. It all depends on quality of the raw, whether or not I do borders, and how much typesetting there is. When there's a lot of redraws, joins, and stuff, then even longer if I choose to do them

2 to 4 hours? :omg wow.. That's hard though i think :XD after that, did your eyes feeling aching or what?

ack do you have a pet?

Crayola
October 03, 2007, 03:12 PM
sometimes i feel cramped up and whatnot, so I go get a bite to eat or watch some TV or something. It's only like one day a week where I crack down and do like consecutive series, otherwise I probably do chapters in little bits.

I don't have any pets, I don't think I would take very good care of a pet if I had one anyway.

1. what got you into anime
2. which came first ;) manga or anime

!. Well, of course, the very first anime I saw was DBZ, I remember watching it when I was 5 and I saw it in cantonese. But that was the very first anime to my knowledge that I have seen. Then when Cartoon Network and Kids WB starting showing anime, I watched them. The series I watched were like DBZ, Pokemon, YuGiOh, Digimon, and stuff. But because they were so slow, I eventually went online.

2. FOr me, anime came first. But if you're asking like the chicken and the egg kind of question, then I'd say manga. Drawing came before video, so it's obvious to me that manga would come before anime

Well, I don't have that many commitments. Bakemono is on hiatus right now and FMA is once a month. P2! and Yu Yu Hakusho aren't series that I'm doing like once a week. They're series where the translator does it as like their lower priority. Eyeshield 21 and Prince of Tennis are only once a week and I can usually finish that every weekend. I also do the occasional Naruto or some other series if I have time. So I have enough time to pick up new series.
[hr]
The new Manga Project I've been working on is about 98% complete with just some little details in the translation to go over. Expect it out in the next week or so, definitely out before thanksgiving

hey are you still doing p2!

just wondering bcz its been awhile since one has been scanlated

Crayola
January 16, 2008, 09:46 PM
Yes, P2! will be continued. My translator for the series, ThE_WoRm wanted to do this using tankoban raws since they were better quality. So I had to go buy the raws as well as the scanner. I have those two things now, they're in my college dorm and I'm currently on Winter Break. So when I get back to school and have some time, probably February, I'll have the tanks scanned and sent to ThE_WoRm where it'll be his job to translate. And then I'll edit once I get the translations and whatnot.

hey dude... whats up? :) i just want to ask something... i always look forward to your scans but i cant open it... i tried DLing chapters of PoT from ur site but my computer dont recognize the file type... i think its .rar? so i have to wait when they put it on onemanga.com... anyway, may i know what should i use to open such file type?.... thanks man... :) keep up the goodwork.. :)

kusiobache
January 19, 2008, 03:47 PM
winzip and winrar work for rar files, crayola will confirm it when he sees your post

and crayola yd u choose that 4 ur name?

Crayola
January 19, 2008, 08:46 PM
Err, .rar can be opened with WinRar, I don't tink winzip works for it. You can also use 7Zip I believe.

I chose Crayola as a name from a process.
I liked a girl and her initals were KC, so I made a nick called KornyCrayon.
Eventually I evolved that name to Crayola from it because it sounded better and because my name "Raymond" or "Ray" is more pronounced in Crayola.

And of course ryColaa came from jumbling the letters of the word Crayola

another question?

any chance you could start scanlating legendz?

im pretty sure its only 4 volumes so it shouldnt take too much effort, unless the raws are hard to find or it is liscensed, i was just going through my old shonen jump stuff and i saw the preview of it from like 2 years ago, and it seems good.

a few people have requested legendz on Onemanga also

Crayola
January 20, 2008, 03:48 PM
Well, If I can find the raws and a willing translator, then I'll do it.

Legendz has already been scanned in. Check gotlurk.net if you know how to use irc, otherwise not sure where you can find it.

Also, just to keep it on topic. Love the work ya do Crayola. I love sports mangas even though I'm not really interested in sports themselves, and I read most of the series you scan now. Keep up the good work.

I think Sunday is My One Year Anniversary maybe, not completely sure, but I'll considerit as my one year anniversary, and there are currently 2 releases ready for this Sunday. In the next 3 days,I'll see what I can do to bump it up to 10 releases for Sunday.

While I liked most of this Interview (http://mangahelpers.com/news/details/203)there was one thing that rubbed me the wrong way, and that was question #8. I am a former moderator of the MangaFox forums, and still an active member, and such I am only speaking on behalf of MangaFox and not One Manga, but there are some things about the answer that I would like to address.

1. The choice to keep Low Quality scans has nothing to do with not desiring or wanting High Quality scans, but more in respect to the scanlation groups who took the time to do a release no matter how rushed and Low Quality it is. We are a community driven site and people upload freely to us, so if we took down the Low Quality scan in favor of the High Quality scan (especially if the two groups are different) it's a slap in the face to the other scanlation groups. And although High Quality scans are better we don't want to offend any group for the work they put into releasing a chapter. If a group releases a Low Quality scan to get the chapter out quickly and then makes a High Quality scan later we are more than happy to re-upload the scan.

2. We make no money off of our site besides ads which pay to keep the site itself up. We allow anyone and everyone to read the manga on our site without charging any fee. And there is only one staff member who gets paid, but that is due her being hired in real life and not being hired online, to work on the coding for the site and to keep the site running smoothly and she is paid from the owner's pocket and not off any of the money earned by the ads on MangaFox.

3. We at MangaFox do give back to the community, we have created our own Scanlation group and various other groups have been started after their members have met in our forums.

Now I'm not trying to attack Rycolaa scanlations (as I enjoy many of the series you scanlate) or MangaHelpers for the interview. My intention is to do nothing more than just inform you of some of the inaccuracies of your assumptions about us, and I would just ask that in the future you try and learn a little more about us before you make a judgment. And I would like to apologize beforehand if I offend anyone with what I have said.

If you have any questions or comments for me you can email me at pezztalent@yahoo.com (i would request that if someone decides to send me hate mail that they don't.....even though this probably wont deter you at all but in turn make it more likely for me to get some XD)
