That was an amazing episode. Alothough not much action, the animation quality was great and they made it very emotional like it should be. Also the opening and the ending are good (like the animation in the opening)

I'm working, so I couldn't watch the entire episode yet...but the few scenes I managed to watch were very nicely done.

The new opening is nice....i didn't like the song very much, and the fact they used episode scenes on it...but overall, it was quite good. I loved the scenes where young Naruto and Sasuke are walking and meet - the grass was green and there was a tree. Then, they meet again, but older - and the soil is dry and the tree has died....;~~

The "introducing new team 7" bits were cool too. Sakura is hawt, Sai looks nice...and wow, ANBU Yamato and Kakashi! (L)

Thats not true, they havent been animating this for the last three weeks. The three week gap was for other reasons not related to naruto (pokemon special, etc). The animation was good though i wanted to see Tobi (guess i will wait next week for that). Did anybody else see Tobi in the opening song among the akatsuki!!

Good ep on the whole, not terrible new Opening is cool but the new ending is rather creepy with that much Sai! Was hoping to see at least a small glimpse of Tobi in the actually ep but alas not!

They animate this episode so well but they make Kyuubi Naruto look like a twelve yearold drew him last episode? I swear I have no idea what the priorities of this studio are up to.

this ep was good but not fantastic....i loved the ep but the ending would have been better if they switched to Tobi and Zetsu,that would be a fantastic episode,it had new opening,ending,had some Sai,Yamato,sad feelings but i was realy hopin to see Tobi.

new intro is awesome, episode itself was exactly one manga chapter which is too few. They could've easily ended the arc if they had finished Gaara waking up in the last episode with the sansd people showing up, and the celebrating for ep. 31 so they had 5 minutes to introduce Tobi and the farewell.

Seriously the opening was beautiful, even though it spoils quite a few things. The ending was also good, but I didn't exactly like Sai's poses.

The episode was also good, though it should have covered more manga material. The beginning was cool due to the great animation.

I don't like the opening song and the reused animation sucked a bit, but oh well... At least the ending song is nice and i absolutely love the idea with the flipping pages. Too much gay Sasuke/Sai-Fangirlservice overall, for my taste, though...

The episode itself was drawn pretty well, just like i expected from the last episodes preview, and managed to create a nice atmosphere in certain scenes. If the pacing would have been a tiny bit faster, it would've been perfect.

Next ep doesn't look as good as this one, though.

I never complain about the animation, but I tend to do it about the music used in the episodes. The music they used for this episode was amazing (not talking about the opening and ending). For each scene I found the musicalization appropiate.

And the opening gave me hope to see good fights in the next 12 chapters (Orochimaru vs Naruto).

The new opening was good in my opinion, especially towards the end. It's one of those that will probably grow on you.

To be honest, I think this episode was truly how shppuuden should be, taken into account that they are purposefully tryin to go very slow. There's going slow by showing the same scene for 22 minutes (naruto and kakashi jumping on well placed tree roots), and there is going slow by showing dialogue, flashback, and overall good direction.

To be honest, aside from chiyo dying and garaa coming back, nothing too big happened in this episode. But to me this episode was 5 times better then the hour long special with Kakashi's MS sharingan and Naruto 2T.

Why? I don't know, i guess I just like good animation and good directing (angles, music choice, sequence) over crappily-produced pivotal naruto moments.

Hopefully this could be the new standard....

PS. Ending was the anime embodiment of gay. I will never watch that ending again... EVER!

the episode was pretty decent, now that type of pacing wasn't so bad. I really wish the anime team would find that pace instead of intentionally dragging the episodes. The opening was cool, KN4 gave me chills, and Sasuke potrayed like that.. That was not necessary, I don't need to see that. (damn fan girls)

As for the ending.. blah, that music is bad. I didn't really like it either, then again I never did like Sai in the first place... (so maybe that's a little biased showing I admit)

I'll start with the positive: Great new intro and the animation of this episode was awesome.

Now onto the rest: The pacing...Did I just watch an episode that actually had flashbacks of events that happened in the very same episode? Also, the flashback of how "Naruto has a way of making friends with anyone" was actually a flashback of a flashback. I'm surprised so many people liked this episode. I'm glad Chiyo is finally dead because...she...speaked...so...slow.........

I really hope they can maintain the quality animation and increase the pace. I can't imagine this episode took much more than one manga chapter.

Well, the episode was good- yeah, it was slow, but they are trying to go slow, and I like the way they are using the... "slowness" to get some real emotion from so many of the characters.

And the opening.... Holy S*&^! I didn't like the song that much, but the animation rocked. I loved the spoilers. I loved the way they animated Sai's quick-draw- so fluid and realistic. And Holy Moses, my eyes just about fell out of my head when I saw the Orochi's-eyes background with NAKED pseudo-crucified Sasuke with the two snakes sort of covering his privates and ogling him at the same time.

*reads post 18* Yeah, you got it, Kusachu. I'm not a huge Sasuke fan but that was just tooooo good. ;) That'll be in my siggy for sure!

Best episode in ages, well, I was stoned, but as I sat there with my headset turned up high, not thinking about how much time went by without any drastic animations happening, I noticed the music and surroundings captured me and I really felt like I was standing there next to Gaara. It was really amazing, I really loved how they took their time and really did it right without rushing something as important as bringing back on of the main characters. The ambiance and feeling surrounding this episode was the best as of yet. I got that tingly feeling I got during episode one when Naruto saved Iruka-sensei, the same feeling I got when Naruto stood up against Gaara in the forrest after being hit by all the sand-shurikens. The "what's this sensation? What's this feeling I feel rushing through me? It's like, I want to win no matter what! I don't care if I die! I have to beat this guy!"-moment.

Also, the opening and ending was nothing less than pure ownage.
