Where are the 9th's Guardians? Do you think we'll seem em at all?

Yeah I wondered about that too.
Since the rings are with Tsuna's guardians it would be hard to tell them at all if they are not adressed as guardians.
But I always saw Tsuna's dad as a guardian. Since there was nothing said against a guardian having more than "one job". Like guardian and conselor, or guardian and Varia's boss. Since Reborn is the 9th most trusted hitman I thought he might have been one too, before becoming an arcabanelo.

But it's weird we did not see any of them... I mean during the Craddle affair's flashback (9th against Xanxus) we didn't see any of the guardians, then the 9th was abducted and replaced by a fake, and no guardians showed up (unless Tsuna's dad really is one), I think it's a bit weird, are they already dead? Or are they incompetent <_< ? Maybe some are traitors... Well there is room for speculations.

Tsuna's father can't be a guardian, he's not even really part of the Vongola as far as I remember, just an external advisor...

i doubt we'll see many of them if any based on the passage of time alone. the 9th is an elderly man. due to the closeness of the relationship between the boss and the family members, i'd assume the members are roughly the same age as him, so i doubt its anyone we've met

His guardians probably died, IMO. I mean, he's old, they're old, and since the power was shifting to Tsuna it seems like they gave up their positions so it doesn't matter anymore. They obviously weren't strong enough to stop the Cradle Affair from happening.

My guess is that they died in the cradle affair.

why Tsuna, and not Iemitsu, his dad, has to be the 10th?

Because at the time both the 9th and Iemetsu decided on the successor.
Iemetsu being the "outside advisor" and one of those that choose the successor (one of two that could choose one) might not have been able to "nominate" himself.
He might not have been interested at all.
And following the adventures of an "old man", might not have been as exciting too :D.

I also think that it was best for them to choose a younger successor. When looking at all the Vongola bosses, the 9th is the oldest, most of the others are either still young or not that far from it.
The question is wether, this appearance of theirs, is when they became Vongola bosses, when they went through the Vongola trial, or was it their appeareance at their death (the last time they used the ring)?
My guess would be, that it was either when they became Vongola bosses, or when they went through the trial, after all it was said that the first boss leaved Italy later on and went to Japan, meaning he probably lived longer than his young appearance on Tsuna's trial.


I think 0FR suggestion is interesting, the 9th family dying in the craddle affair, might be a good possibility.
Squalo was pretty badly injured, so Xanxus didn't went alone, and I don't think the 9th fought all Xanxus subordinate at the same time. Normal guards wouldn't have been able to do much against them too... So it probably was guardians.

Normally, when you look for a successor, you find someone in the next generation. Iemitsu should be the same generation as the 9th Boss, even though he's a lot younger. Remember that the other choices for the 10th Boss were all sons of the 9th Boss too. But, they all died. >_> So, the 9th had no choice but to find the Vongola branch family in Japan.

It'd be interesting to find out how and why Iemitsu began working for the 9th though.

Iemitsu must be around 35~40 years, still maybe he could be...
Iemitsu is the 2nd most important on Vongola after 9th, well... maybe there is more reasons to be Tsuna? ~.~;;;

but the 9th boss sons make sense....

it lacks a lot of details of what happened, I guess... or maybe I missed something on manga @_@;;
