This is the Discussion Thread for the 25 or 50 Things about Yourself... Thread (http://mangahelpers.com/forum/index.php?topic=637.0) :amuse

Basically to avoid interrupting the flow of that thread, we can talk about what we found interesting about the other forum members here - as well as ask questions here.

Example, these are the things I found very interesting about everybody so far, though I'm just commenting on a few things for each person:

* * * * *

@ bebong

I hate sports

I kinda liked soccer and badminton

Bebong, I'd have thought you'd be a sports fan considering your high level of energy :amuse

Though wouldn't soccer count? XD

* * * * *

@ eileenting88

3. I have a smelly pillow. *blush*

May I ask why it's smelly, Eileen? :amuse

16. I throw javelin, shot putt and discus.

I had no idea you participated in these sports! Did you win any events? :smile-big

* * * * *

@ Hamsun

14. i'm a non-fiction writer

That's cool, Hamsun, short stories? About what?

By the way...

19. hate homophobes

I think that there's kind of a BIG difference between people who are a little unsure about homosexuality and people who are total bigots. Heterosexuals could easily be classified as homophobes, for example, just for the simple reason that they far prefer heterosexuality. You shouldn't hate 'em all equally. ;)

* * * * *

@ Miso

Judging by your first 25 comments you sound a lot like me, so I like you Miso! :thumbs :D

6. I love to read especially fantasy books

So, what's your favorite fantasy books?

16. I'd like to study law afterwards

Good luck on that! :knk

* * * * *

@ lexiefaye

8. I can draw all the bones in the human body by memory (from my Archeology training)

That's awesome, lexiefaye! XD

11. I was on a Daily Show episode this past spring pretending to work for a college department that I actually didn't work for.

Sounds like a story there, what happened?

* * * * *

@ hiko

7. I'm an Asian film fanatic, have been for many years now.
8. But Japanese cinema is my #1 love.
9. I've been a fan of anime since Akira hit the UK in 1991.
10. I write film+DVD reviews for a reasonably well known DVD review site.

Cool, we have a Japanese movie buff here I see.

Do you want to hint at which DVD review site that might be, hiko?

Any movie/anime recommendations? XD

* * * * *

@ icecoldsoul18

8. I'm an avid martial artist.

Pretty cool, ice. What martial arts?

11. I play basketball barefoot and have done so enough that my feet are almost numb from any sort of pain.

Ouch, I could see why - WHY do you play barefoot?

* * * * *

@ Anax

2) My eyes are hazel brown and I have a triangle shaped mark on my right eye's pupil

That's pretty funky. XD

6) I really like languages and etymology a lot, though after learning English and trying French I spent a lot of time not learning anything. Now I'm trying to take up Japanese

Guess you came to the right place ;-D
Hopefully we'll have somebody teaching Japanese here soon. :amuse

13) My grandpa, my father and I are rabdomancers

What are rabdomancers?

19) Umm... I've reached a state where I savour the company of women when I can find it to a point that almost scares me... I need a woman in my life badly, thouhg it's the kind of life that doesn't help.

Pfft. Don't worry THAT much about it, Anax. You'll meet somebody eventually.

@ blue_angel

1. I'm a Filipina

Hehe, we have two female Filipina moderators here, and now comes another Filipina girl. We have lovely girls everywhere here, I guess! XD :glomp

3. I am majoring in Physics (geek!)
4....but minoring in History (weird)

Definitely different... but that's great to be knowledgable in both these areas. Good luck, blue angel!

I'm curious, why do you hate Kingdom Hearts so much, Kaiser? And yeah, watch out for KH lovers here xD

14. I cannot tolerate "l33t" speech it, its just something in my opinion for the ignorant to use, nothing clever about it.

You and me both!

21. I am not only from being a manga guy, but I am a big Spider-Man fan and wish I could get ahold the originals with out paying a but load and Sam Reimi ROCKS!

Hey! Thanks for asking :)

So they were filming something about Rutgers University and need a place to film the interview. The story was about how the policy that students of the investigative journalism class are not allowed to do research on Rutgers was instated AFTER a student proved that the Atletics department got treated special. Stu Miller (the producer/director) choose the university hotel I worked in for the interview but at the last minute decided to film a little bit when Ed Helms barges in on the Rutgers Athletics Dept. At first they asked the Hotel's conference coordinator if she would play the role of the Athletic Dept Secretary but for university politics reason's she couldn't. So I was called in (thank good I was wearing makeup!) and 15 minutes later they were filming. It took 8 takes for them to be satisfied (I did it differently each time - one time I said a lot, one time I just stared blankly) but they were really nice about it and had tons of suggestions. The first time I couldn't stop smiling. They were great about thinking of new ideas quickly - good with the improv and keeping it real. In the end the picked the last shot where Helms barges in asking to speak to the Athletic Chair and I turn all freaked out and say "Um...he's in a meeting right now" That was it. 30 seconds took 30 minutes to film.

Afterwords, I talked a bit with Ed Helms and Stu Miller. Shallow stuff - you know, small talk. Nothing hilarious but not dull either. Helms was really normal, down-to-earth. Stu had me sign a Waiver and gave me his card. And that was it. They told me it would be shown a week form that day so I of course told everyone one I know to watch.

And as things happened I wasn't bumped once but twice! Bush did too many stupid things in that week I guess. By the time they showed it, I think my friends and family were getting feed up watching it at 11pm each night. I kept on taping it. Wednesday I was disappointed again until (over the phone) a friend screamed that she saw me! I was the trailer for the next days show. And Jon Stewart laughed. Mind you it was Helms who was actually being funny and it coulda been a fake laugh - but being the trailer and all the TV spots all day has got to mean something? Right?

The following night, when it was actually on was Purim, so I watched during a drunken party. So did a lot of people apparently including a relative I didn't know went to RU and some acquaintances I didn't tell to watch. Totally bizarre. I got a crazy amount of emails. The best part of the program wasn't me but Ed Helms questioning the existence of a Rutgers Athletics Dept. He dissed my school on TV!!!! Peoples' reactions were varied (from congrats, to humor, to disgust) and I got a reputation as "the Daily Show Chick" for awhile. It was quite the experience!

Oh and GK ... I love LotR too. Did you get into it before or after the movies? I was inspired to first read the hobbit by some illustrations my High School Lit teacher posted behind his desk - and when I finished that, LotR and the Similrillian, I finally looked it up online to discover a film was being made. This was before Elijah Wood was even cast. But they were great! Did you see Peter Jackson's King Kong cuz he directed it? What did you think?

Sounds like it :D

But they should've probably warned you there might've been some backlash. Did you get a lot of hate mail, or something like that, from Rutgers alum's? Oh well, sounded like fun - and cool that you got recognized. Maybe they'll call you back to do some more roles ;)

Crazy how different Hobbit is from the Trilogy, isn't it? I followed the casting/production of LoTR almost from the beginning myself - but Wood was already cast. But some of the first photos we got of the set were of Hobbiton, and when I saw these, along with how Frodo, Pippin, Merry, and Samwise would look like, I was feeling pretty good about it. Needless to say, I was first in line for the first LoTR movie and I think it was the first time I ever truly enjoyed a movie from the first minute to the last minute. Just an awesome theater experience.

Yep, I've seen King Kong - lots of action, I was somewhat disappointed for it being a Peter Jackson movie and one he was especially excited about, actually. But maybe I've just been spoiled by the LoTR movies.

Cool, we have a Japanese movie buff here I see.

Do you want to hint at which DVD review site that might be, hiko?

Any movie/anime recommendations? XD

The site's called DVD Times (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/), but I guess it's only really that well known in the UK (we're definitely one of the biggest UK review sites, if not the biggest). As for recommendations, there are too many to list!

ANIME: If you haven't seen Samurai Champloo (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=56973) then I couldn't recommend it enough.
FILM: If you like completely insane comedies then Yaji & Kita: The Midnight Pilgrims (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=59161) is a great example of Japanese surrealism. 9 Souls (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=56071) is a quirky drama that's darker than Yaji & Kita, but it's another excellent film with a reasonably priced R1 release.

I learned Crane, Tiger, and Monkey. I've been doing it for about 3 1/2 years now, I'm not that bad if i do say so myself. I've demolished anyone who's tried to beat me up so far.

Yeah basically it's like this, i am so lazy that i don't want to tie my shoes to play basketball lol. So i go play barefoot, i've done it so much that my feet pretty much have no feeling anymore so it's all good. The other thing is i know that if i play with shoes now i'm going to be running and jumping faster and higher and i'll destroy the people i play with.

May I ask why it's smelly, Eileen?

because I have been using it since I am a kind until now? :p and never been washed except a few times when my mother had to forcefully took it away for cleaning? :D I dont feel smelly at all. Everyone has a smelly pillow. All of my friends has a smelly pillow too. That's our memory of childhood. It's not an odd thing to us here, dont know about US though.

I had no idea you participated in these sports!  Did you win any events?

Actually I did won some in inter house sports day.

13 years old : gold in discus, bronze in javelin
14                 : silver in discus, silver in shot putt

U know, those little small pillows we would hug when we were small and they tend to get smelly easily. So we got very comfortable around with the smells and often smell it. It's not the big pillow that we use to sleep every night, it's just a small pillow for hugging and I am hugging and smelling it now. (kind of feeling childish here:D)

I dont work out at all nowadays. Back then, when I was 11,12,13 I used to train myself doing situps, taking some weights and stuff like that but school caught me and training became lesser and lesser. I did not join the competition when I was 16, so no data about that. Basically, next week is the sports day, this week I train. I only train maybe just 3 days and go straight to competition. :D I am lazy.

*flicks on music, stretches arms amidst cracking knuckles*

Alright! Let’s get this puppy rolling, you wanted to know my hatred for Kingdom Hearts? Well here it comes, and some of you, it may fuel a sense of hate towards me, and feel the necessity to lash back taking certain cheap shots.(I.E. retard, stupid, dumb ass, faggot and a “noob” etc etc) Well all I have to say to that is….bring it. >=) With what I speak about I will gladly defend it and answer back in the ways I too know how. Cool way to start it huh? :)

Really for such a game its hard to know where exactly to begin, because to my view this game has a lot of issues wrong that its unbelievable.

Lets first though just get it out of the way and tackle the issue of, voice actors, its easy because these are the people who’re giving the voice of certain characters that have gained a reputation, made a mark in the gaming community.

Disney of course brings in the big hits because of the name alone of Disney. Really only good voice actor there in my book was James Woods as “Hades” the guy rocks and is well…talented! So now, they decide with the big hitting names…they bring in the Pop Singers…why? Because they want to sell, sell, sell! They cast Lance Bass as Sephiroth an iconic villain in the Final Fantasy series among some the other big hitters…and they choose this poser? I can’t understand him of all people? He didn’t even do that great a job! I could think of a good portion of people to fill that spot then him.

Name one would have been Simon Templeman who voiced “Kain” from “The Legacy of Kain” series, he has played one Platinum Psychopath he could certainly do a finer job then this and bring some dignity to such a role. Even Michael Bell who also voiced for the same game as “Raziel” but also has done voicing for Metal Gear Solid 3 played “The Fear”, Lance Bass had what? One crappy movie out and was just done with “Nsync” Im sorry looking at said resume I would not see that as good voice acting material.

They also bring in Mandy Moore to play Aerith? Jesus Christ! Again another talentless pop singer who poses as an actor making such an attempt who cannot sing and cannot act to save her life. Why her? I mean god damnit, this person portraying the sweet and innocent flower girl from the slums, which is connected to the “Ancients”, yeah perfect choice there. *big time sarcasm*

If you wanted a singer, god you could have brought in Seth Macfarlane as he can actually sing ten times better then both Lance Bass and Mandy Moore combined! If you listen to the Family Guy Live in Las Vegas you can see what I mean, as he sings so well with actual melody with four different voices that he portrays.

Or why not just cast Johnny Depp and they can call it gold, yeesh they seem to with everything else. *rolls eyes*(Heh I love taking risks with my opinions :D )

Again in my book the only good voice actor on that cast was James Woods, he rules, and the only one on key, you rock Woods!

Now the story. *trembles and shutters* It is certainly a mixture, because it starts out with an element that you know from Square, but you also see that all so common Disney theme of the one person being separated from a assortment of “family” and has to go at it to find them. I have been though noticing the lack of quality in story with SquareEnix games, Final Fantasy X/X-2 was great proof of that.

Basically all you do going from world to world in that…”ship” to just fix it and find another piece here and there. In the worlds there is nothing that brings any depth to the already bland story that’s going on. You have a hoping moment when you get to the world with Hercules, once you see the red cape, big sword and that spiky yellow haired tweaker having more sever emotional issues that brings all those whiny suburban emo kids to shame to their fake problems with his being you know…more real then theirs!

Yet again, Clouds character seems bout right, still though he seems a bit played down then he is. He goes in and isn’t his as we last seen him his heroic self, a kid shows him up somehow!! Along with two characters who seem about as brain dead as a rock. Cloud going up against Cerberus the Three Headed Dog which guards the Gates of Hell smacks him down. Riiiight, this is the guy who fought more terrifying beasts and gone through them all to continue fighting, his die hard attitude seemed to of been removed for some kid who seemed to rip the spirit right out of poor Cloud.

Really the story doesn’t even pick up; it’s still on its flat direct course into further boredom and repetitive nonsense. With the story its easy to follow nothing that’s hard to follow, that being the Disney aspect to appeal to the children.

Lets see now hmmm what else could there be? Right, graphics next. Being its Square they generally have nice graphics, its their thing they have gotten it down…buuut with this game it was left empty and just brightness, which made it hard on the eyes. All except those who are always ooo and aww in bright flashy colors and get hypnotized by it. The details of the levels were just plain as already put.

As brought up very, very poorly by “bebong” of the graphics being apparently “smoothest” for PS2, which I’m sorry I just don’t agree with. In this game I wouldn’t say smoothest, I would say nice, just not so far. I could easily say games like Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 had much better detail and care put into it, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 2/Defiance, Tekken 5, Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Juborou.

Music was annoying repetitive garbage that just made me cringe and that’s all I have to say on that point.

The gameplay was plain also, there was no strategy required in this game what so ever. It was easy hack and slash, with the bosses it required little to no effort. Which was disappointing it being Square after all, although I also noticed their games enemies getting easy in Final Fantasy VIII, skip IX and into X. The battle system really was nothing special, because it was like playing Dynasty Warriors 4 just with out a cool sword in hand, just a wimpy key.

I never found any use for the apparent “Summons” they did have in the game, I would but just kind of would shrug at it and continue bashing things again because that’s all it needed. I honestly though you’d have more control and I had hoped to go I could of removed Donald Duck and Goofy from my team…sadly…I could not and was stuck with brain dead teammates that couldn’t help worth their lives.

Leveling up, hm well that too required barely any effort in my opinion because it was just so easy to do it. In my book not a lot of leveling up was really needed being the simplicity of the battle and enemies.

Onto the characters now! In all honesty this end of it really doesn’t help, because for Square they have freaking Wakka, the phrase Fozzy the Bear always said after a lame joke or something else. The Muppet invaded. But that one name does not out rule what is wrong with the others. Im sorry but how can you take a game seriously when you have a character a dumb dog looking thing named “Goofy” in your party running around? You also have a pissant annoying character like Donald Duck running with you, and you well…you just want to go GTA on him and beat the bejesus out of him yourself. I tried….the game wouldn’t let me…*sighs*

In reality of it, the iconic gaming world, the characters of Final Fantasy should in no way be put together with Disney. We have played as the characters, come to a closer bond with them, seen their back stories and gone through their development. They have a real depth a more 3Dimension feel instead of just being 1Dimensional typical hero types like Disney. With the reputation made by the Role Playing Characters its really a disgrace that they are put up next to such Disney characters as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and the list of course continues.

Thing is, I knew this game would be dreck and plague the role playing world. But you know what, I did give it a chance, I did. As did my brother, but he couldn’t get stomach it and couldn’t get himself to go through the Slummy looking area. Yet I managed to convince and get him to play Zelda Wind Waker and he enjoyed the crap out of that. I gave the game a try and I didn’t pay for it my brother borrowed it from a friend and somehow I feel I have been cheated of my life for spending the actual time to play it. I feel so dirty actually playing this. This is true fact and sign that its only going to be Dark Times for more role playing games.

Been a gamer since I was five, starting out on Nintendo Entertainment System and been playing since then. In my time of being a gamer, this was one that when I took one look at I knew I would hate, and loath playing it knew it was just going to be the lowest form of games.

Here is my closing to this, a bit from Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope, Just Turned around.

Ben: I was once an RPG’er the same as your father. For ten years the rpg’ers protected the integrity of the old Squaresoft, before the dark times…before the SquareEnix.

I could do more but I just want to wrap this up. Remember, you asked for it! ^_^

Well, well, it looks as though you enjoyed that rant a little bit. ^_^

Your points:

1. Voice Actors
My Reaction: Neutral. See first revelation about myself in my "25/50 things" post to see why. ;)

2. Story
My Reaction: Neutral. The selling point of this game was to take the gamer through the various familiar Disney worlds, I had enough fun in that respect that I didn't mind the lack of plot. In a game where so many elements from various Disney stories had to be taken in consideration ( as far as relating to the story ) I expected the plot to be a little on the light side. I thought they did well, everything considered, but I see what you mean. They didn't develop the main storyline enough.

3. Cloud
My Reaction: Negative. Have to agree with you there. They didn't do a good job of representing him well in the story, although I found it cool when Cloud walked by, with a glance, to the kid (the viewer), and it was fun watching him move around in the Coliseum. Still, I see what you mean, for one of the most memorable Final Fantasy characters ever, he deserved better than what he got.

4. Graphics
My Reaction: Positive. I've gotta disagree with you here. No, it wasn't the smoothest on PS2 like bebong said, but as far as the Disney worlds went, I was still impressed. They captured the essence of every world in the game with a lot of enthusiasum it seemed to me. It's what helped me enjoy the game the most, I felt like I was there within each world.

5. Music
My Reaction: Neutral. No need to explain why.

6. Gameplay
My Reaction: Negative. I agree with you here completely. It was very, very awkward, and the summoning was for the most part redundant (and when you HAD to use it, it was annoying.) However, it wasn't impossible and I was still able to enjoy the game. I WILL say, however, that I probably wouldn't look forward to that aspect of the game again if I ever replayed it again, so that ruins its replay value, yeah.

7. Characters
My Reaction: Positive. I think it was a good crew but I did use to be a big Disney fan, so I'm probably biased. I already liked Goofy and Donald Duck. But the problem was the gameplay, as you said.

In all I think I understand why you didn't like the game, I guess.

By far thee most intelligent response I have ever recieved from another on the net, general forumer's usualy well yeah look at NarutoFan and thats proof enough. Especially on this topic.

Yeah I saw what you put down for your 25 or 50, and well all I can say, you're spared much pain and agony from the sound of the game and the certain actors. :P

I guess understanding having a fanbase still for Disney...but ugh. The way I look at it, is that in all honesty that Disney has already ruined what would of been a promising game, they took a game called "Sea Dogs 2" or what it would of been called, they took it and destroyed what was going to be in the game, my friend was really looking forward to it. They then took it and called it "Pirates of the Carribean" he was very dissapointed and I had seen what he ment by the content taken out. So in my book they should have nothing to do with the world of games, just stay away and continue mass producing your mind numbing cartoons for the misguided youth of America XD

But you do have your views I have mine and we see eye to eye with some of them and thats as much more I'll say. Dont worry, if you really do or dont understand my hating the game its cool, my brother and I and two friends of mine seem to be pretty alone about our feelings towards this game.

**Add**

Yes, yes I enjoyed this long rant I felt I finally got out to a good group of people my feelings towards this game, thanks for the opportunity as I figured I should to the best I could thoroughly explain my reasoning. :smile-big

Not nearly as closely as I should. I hate the idea of a disease influencing my life style, so I just don't let it, even if it gives the occasional ache. I don't tell people very much, but I figured that since you are able to tell people you're deaf, I should tell people that I've got Crohn's Disease; I dunno why I hide it sometimes.

The biggest hit I ever had wasn't in either American football or rugby, it was actually volleyball. thats quite a lot i guess...why?? because of job or your fathers job or smthng like that??so in which state are you now?

Partly - my dad was a manager of a company who kept being moved around to help start new branches and teach the workers how to do their jobs correctly. The other reason was that I kept being shuffled around in schools because my parents were trying to find a good school for the deaf for me, then they tried to find a public school with a good deaf program. In the end, I just went to a public school without a deaf program (was the only deaf student there) and I ended up enjoying the experience anyway. I'm in Tennessee now.

Yeah, Florida is kind of different from the rest of the country because of its close connection with Cuba. But if you go around America you'll notice each state has a pretty different community, with a different mix of cultures. I still think it's an amazing thing how so many different people live in America, so much land that it has to supervise, and yet it's still all one country. Thank the Constitution for that I guess.

Trips in America can be quite fun yeah. I'm still planning to go on a trip all around the country sometimes. ^^[br]Posted at: January 29, 2006, 04:06:27 PM_________________________________________________

I too want to see pics! (The more people informed, the more fans you'll get)

@Amaethon

What's the disease you have? Oh, and don't worry about it, sharing always feels good... Let me tell you a bit about myself. I was born with an anomaly (can't share much of the details because I'm not familiar with medical trerminology in English) that affected my hormone levels, which would have led in me being dwarf sized, hairy like hell and possibly sterile... BUT I was saved thanks to hydrocortizone :sweat
I also happen to have another disorder/anomaly/not-exactly-what-you'd-call-a-disease thing on my skin that causes my cells to divide faster than normal (no stable rythm) which in turn resaults in a snaky kind of skin... You can more or less peel me... Unfortunately though, in certain areas like some of my nails, this looks ugly and (as of lately) my toes too look as if they're recovering from injury (dry, dead, skin on top of the fresh one). Generally, this anomaly is not contagious, uncurable and depending on how bad it gets, it can be ugly too... So far, my friends insist that no one would know unless I told them, but you know what it's like to be different in a way, you feel everyone knows.

See? I told you about me and know I run the risk of you picturing me as the leper king in "Kingdom of Heaven" till you see my picture :p

@Kaiser

I used to be like you concerning this game, but in time I mellowed out. It's like GK said, you can't expect much from a game that's a mix of games and stories... And to tell you the truth I bought it to see Cloud (and Sephiroth whom I have yet to unlock). Apart from that, I sensed a lot of hostility on your part and would like to tell you not to be so prejudiced against your audience. I agree with all those points you covered, yet I still like the game. Does it make sense? No. Does it have to? No. Whether you enjoy a game or not is totaly up to you. It's not a matter to argue over in a debate because tastes aren't supposed to be ruled by logic. Think about it. And chill out :thumbs :tem

@GK

I will tell you and the others about rhabdomancers soon. Right now I have to be going (the others in 3D are calling for me, I don't know what's going on, we might be playing DotA in a while). What I can tell you in the few spare seconds I think I have left is that "rhabdomancy" is a totaly Greek term, that my father claims to have seen online (Google had some results I think).

What's it about? People holding a stick, or a metalic rod or other similar tools and finding water, minerals, gold, people and "other" things... More on this when I have time (not that I know much myself).

that made me laugh :smile-big but i must say you are not the only one ;) one time i was playing volleyball at university and there was a girl playing as a playmaker at my side...i must say she was smaller then me (thats why girls can be better playmakers than boys, so if there is a girl, we let them play as playmaker), ball went high, i didnt think she would try to hit it, and i jumped and i didnt look down...next moment was, she was screaming :s she couldnt walk for a short time because i falled down on her, especially one of her legs...and this is not the only one but thats enough for me for now :eyeroll

by the way i know you like cats..i suppose you have a cat, right?? did i miss it or did you post your cats photo somewhere??

Indeed, politicians are the ones to blame... Last night I dreamed that the Japanese dropped a nuclear bomb in Athens that almost anihilated the whole of Greece (I was saved due to being on the northern border). That dream was my worst nightmare. Ever. There's actually more to it, though it'd be more fitting in the scary stories thread... Still, the idea of Greece going to war with Turkey turns my stomach upside down. The people don't want war unless their brains are replaced with "propaganda stuffing". Also, should the two countries go to war, the only people bound to be safe will be the ones who decided to have a war, the ones who threw the war at the unsuspecting populus (sorry Iwanin for twisting your line). I don't think any word, man has ever made, can convey my aversion towards war... It's the worst of the characteristics that separate us from the animals...

Now, concerning my cat, I'm sad to inform you that it has been dead in years... Even worse, my pics of her haven't been scanned and the scanner is damaged. Anyhow, if/when my father fixes the scanner and scans them pics, you'll find them in the pet thread :tem

EDIT/

17.  do not get why greeks are full of anger to turkish people

Allow me to answer :tem
It's actually an easy one, you see the Turkish people according to my not-so-accurate History knowledge where driven to the place they are now by Genkis Khan. Sadly, the Turks were so strong they decided they'll have Greece, and they did. The Greeks had to live for about 400 years under the oppression of the Turks who saw them as slaves, called them "raja" (spell check) which I recall being an insult, though not what it means exactly. Anyway, think black people as slaves, though not SO bad, and you'll get an idea.
The true question is why the Greeks of today hate the Turks of today for the doing of the Turks of yesterday. Some people think that if your great great great great grandfather killed my great great great great great grandfather, I should kill you and even enjoy it! Well, this doesn't work for me Walkie :thumbs If you prove to be a good guy who doesn't call me names and doesn't see me as a "raja" then I'm fine with you :amuse

1. I have the same name as a famous actor, who also comes from my city.
What would that name be Paz? Mind sharing?

2. I'm a devout atheist.
And I'm a curious cat who can't categorise himself to be anything... I question everything so much (sometimes just for the fun of the rhetorical games, since they involve mind games and word games, which in turn involve linguistics, all of which I've loved since day one of my existance)

17. I enjoy linguistics. No, really, far too much.
28. Due to the guy staying with me, I currently think in an obscure dialect of Japanese that probably nobody knows.
29. As an unofficial linguistics project, I invented a dialect of Japanese that offshoots from Old Japanese, has no influence from modern Japanese and actually developed into its own language with its own grammatical structure.
30. Yes, I am THAT kind of weirdo.
Yup, the more I know about you the more I wanna talk with you about all those matters... You are the only person I know so far that shares my weird interests and wouldn't call me a weirdo! It'd be great if we got to know each other and also make some twisted linguistic games...

3. I'm gay. In the non-flaming way. I have issues with flaming gays.
Umm... what's a flaming gay? How do I tell you apart from them? Can you tell if someone is gay without asking?

4. I have absolutely zero artistic talent.
There's art in language... of course if you aren't a writer or a poet you have to have a Deidara kind of brain (or an Anax kind of brain) to see it... then again, I don't usually open myself on what is artistic and what is not, however it was impossible to hold back with you making such a comment :p

13. I hate speaking, in any language.
Been there... sometimes when speaking my tongue just acts on its own and I tend to say things like "she" instead of "sea" or "see" (worse, "leave" instead of "live")... Plus, you can't edit what you've said :notrust Anyhow, I generally don't mind anymore... I don't enjoy speaking as much as typing/writing but I don't mind it :amuse

11. I've been able to properly speak 6 languages during my life. Currently, that's down to 4.
12. I have some level of comprehension in about 10 languages.
:blink

15. I have never played WoW, but my catchphrase is still "FOR THE HORDE".
It's be nice to have you on Genjuros and talk, frankly, you are better off away from the game... especially if you are a videogame maniac. Personally, I was a hardcore maniac in the past but it kind of wore off on me. Really, I must be the most laid back WoW player in the world :amuse Hahaha, and to think I came to 3D to play WoW but I've been here for the past 4-5 hours... :D

19. I'm a nationalist. As in, I don't care what your heritage is, if you were born and raised in America, you're American and I'll laugh at you if you tell me otherwise. And so on.
Hmmm, I'll have to contemplate on this... Sounds like something an ancient Greek said (more or less: "Greek is he who received Greek education").

8. I can't stand sports.
9. I'm hugely into martial arts.
10. To even get a shot at learning Baguazhang (Hakkeshou) is one of my life goals.
I wish you the best and may you be a grand master some day. Just know I'll be there asking questions all day long :sweat
Still, how can you be so into martial arts and not be able to stand sports? I mean, it can't be the strain you put your muscles through or that you are lazy, so what is it?

20. I believe that The Lion King is the greatest animated production in history, and nothing animated has ever EVER come close to even matching it. Not even Naruto.

In what way "the greatest animation production"? If you are talking about drawing quality I must say I like movies like "Escaflowne", "Steamboy", "Metropolis" and even "Mononoke Hime" better. If you aren't talking about drawing quality, what are you talking about? Also, note the "I think" part, it's just personal taste :amuse

27. I, like Anax, believe in the existence of "ki".
We should have a talk someday (or break it down to several days, weeks, months or even years) about "ki" and all the derivatives of simply accepting "ki" (like its influence in the world, science, religion etc.)

33. It is ridiculously difficult to think up stuff for this when you have a thread where you answer a ton of questions about yourself.

Visit my thread too when you have the time :amuse

31. I forgetted to say, I'm a shodan in karate, hopefully going for my nidan this year.
Keep it up! :thumbs

32. My actual motto is Hakuna Matata. It fits me really well.
That's great! It's nice to be relaxed (it's Aiki too  ;) )

Eileen, pathological liar means that he does it without meaning to - it's such a habit.

Anax, flaming gays are men who go out of their way to act like women. Some people actually think I am a homophobe because I can't stand being around flaming gays, but I DO have gay friends - I am just annoyed by flaming gays, which I think is the same thing going on with Pazuzu. Just makes my hair stand on end to be next to a man who acts like a woman. Nothing really to do with their sexual orientation, just their behavior and mannerisms.

@Eileen -->

I wonder if the Mexican King...

... is actually a lesbian (a king and a lesbian? Don't you have to be a man to be that? Unless you are from Lesbos, Greece),
...has actually killed three people
...has had sex with a teacher and colleages
...is a pathological liar 40% of the time

It could all be a joke! Tell us king >)

@ GK --> Well, flaming gays make me feel kind of uncomfortable though I wouldn't pay them much attention anyway... In Greece being called "fag" is the worst insult after insulting your mother! Still, I'm simply afraid of being thought gay by girls... nothing else touches me. Think about it: If girls see me with gay guys and think I'm gay too, then should they get to know me while thinking of me as gay, even if they realize their mistake they'll be too embarrased to do anything with me. That or I overanalyze things and bring forth disaster as my mother says :tem Still, if Paz lived around here I'd really like to hand out with him since he is such an interesting person and I wouldn't care about what anyone would have to say :D

@ Eileen again --> Instabul is more famous than Ankara because of its history. It was once Greek (later Byzantine) and in the end taken by the Turks. People call it Constantinople because that's the city's Greek name (meaning City of Constantine). I hope this answers your question and Walkie's too. Also, some Greek are hoping to one day take Constantinople/Istanbul back from the Turks, but I haven't put much thought to this...

Also, I scored 109 at the IQ test, did one mistake I realized but had already clicked and also didn't like the vocabulary questions at ALL since I don't think knowing something means you are "smart". Anyhow, I think I got most right :D Still, 109 when Shikamaru has like 200+? I feel really stupid IQ wise... Funny how all the questions about alphabetical order had one word that HAD to be last and was the last in only one answer...

Welcome, another Turkish. So where in Turkey do you live? The Asia part or the europe part? Turkey is a great country. Ankara is the capital and yet Istanbul is most well-known.

is there another turkish i didnt notice, here?? who??where?? :) i live in asia part, very close to sea, work at europe side, travelling at sea between continents everyday (this is very good at summers, very bad during winters and storms), i prefer sea travel rather than by car or bus....istanbul is a city served 2 big nations as capital, Byzantine and Ottomans for a very long time (hundreds of years) so it is a well known city as Constantinople ;)

Wow, that's great. So which football league are you analysing now? I have a friend who analyse football league for entire europe including Turkey too. So do you get it right for the winner of Champions League in Istanbul last time around?

i analyse turkish league and sometimes german league...when champions league final was in istanbul, that night was fun...english and italians were everywhere and i also joined parties with english people (whoever wins doesnt matter, you should join party if you have chance :D)do you interested in football? i guess you are european, arent you??

Brliiant. I am same just like you.

i must say sometimes i can not control my sleeping...if i have no plan and nothing to do, i can sleep 12-13 hours a day..when i wake up, sunset is very close :darn i force myself to get out of bad :amuse i mean i can spend a day just sleeping and lying in bad (never happened until now but i am capable of it)

@ Anax

Anyhow, if/when my father fixes the scanner and scans them pics, you'll find them in the pet thread

science-fiction dreams i eny you, i see normal ones :p just kidding...for war i got nothing to say, war doesnt solve anything and also starts some new and more problems, i wish one day usa will also understand that some day :)
sorry for your cat, but i am curious now why you didnt get another cat..

Allow me to answer
Well, this doesn't work for me Walkie If you prove to be a good guy who doesn't call me names and doesn't see me as a "raja" then I'm fine with you

well, i guess it is hard to accept to be slaves and that can be a reason to be angry (not to hate) but the point is, ottoman did not do that only against greeks and they should take some slaves to be an empire (i am not saying this is right or wrong, this is history of europe, everyone took slaves from other nations/races)...ottomans took slaves for its army from greeks, araps, iranians, bulgarians and etc...but these nations are not as angry as greeks, i mean greeks are not angry, some greeks hate turks (i met some greeks on internet and they said bad things just because i am turkish), they behave as if we are still killing greeks...history is history, we killed greeks and greeks killed turks, no one can change this but we can (or try to) stop repeating itself ;)

@anyone
note: i couldnt read all new stuff in this thread, so if i missed something sorry for that, but when i have time i will come back check everything

@Walkie

Greeks hate Turks mainly because of the way they are brought up. There's propaganda in the anual march/parade on March 25 in memory of the 1821 revolution. There's propaganda in the media. There's propaganda in the stories and the movies. If these weren't enough, Turkey invades our airspace everyday and also they have declaired the act of drilling for oil in the Agean as a sign for war... Older people are very foul mouthed when it comes to Turks too... So, combine all these and you will get an idea why the Greeks of today hate the Turks...
If you ask me, it's not where you are from but how you think. If you wanted to hurt me then I'd want to kill you to neutralize the thread. Action and reaction. "Hatred" though is an emotion, it is not ruled by logic... I wonder what the Turks of today think about Greeks... do they see us as inferior? Do you know Walkie?
Now, about my Cat... Since she died I had a change of heart and didn't want to have any animal as "mine". There's plenty of cats around the city which i get to observe and sometimes play with. That's enough for me :D Sadly, a few days ago I a little kitten was run over in front of me and I couldn't do a single thing to help it :scry

[1] I may be filipina, yet I am not like one. :oh
[8] I'm chubby and proud of it. ^_^ I'm not like those girls who whine for a thin, hot bod. It's just :iik for me. I'm happy with the way I am. Heck, what's the use of trying hard for something when I won't feel happy at all?
[9] I love food. Hence, the statement above.

See a pic of you and you look just fine :hug

[10] I hate vegetables, except for a few.
Sad... I like vegetables a lot but not enough to bother buying any :eyeroll
Generally I eat what's available at the place-where-univercity-students-gather-to-eat-at-low-prices-or-free.

[12] I want to visit a lot of places, like Japan. Well...I meant, I want to visit Japan.
I wonder how many people here who haven't been to Japan would like to. All?

[6]I never drank alchohol in my life except whenever I take the Holy Bread at church, which has a few White Wine in it. And...I'm not planning on becoming like my cousins in the Philipines, who drink beer almost every day. No, thank you.
[7] I'm not planing on smoking either.

Now drinking is fine, though drinking a little won't hurt you and certain drinks are very tasty (Ursus, Bailey's, Absolute with or without lime). Some wines are very tasty too :tem
As for smoking... they say it's bad. Some decades ago they said it was good. Hell, I don't have it anyway just to be on the safe side :)

[14] My friends say I'm spazzy, funny and weird. Am I?

The part of you I've seen so far is neither spazzy nor weird. You are joyful, energetic and funny! Also, nice to have around and cheer the place up :D

[21] I play the guitar.
My roomie too! I'd like to here something of yours :D I heard a composition of my roomie's today and it left me speechless, picking up my jaw from the ground...

[22] I love imagining and day dreaming.
You and me both :D

[25] I really want to meet my close online friends someday. We may not be able to buy an island in the Palms, but I'm willing to meet up with them, one day, and give them a huge glomp.
I wish to be one of those people some day :tem

[27] I still feel like a kid. I don't want to grow up. I'm not immature or anything, but I tend to play around more than just sit down and talk. I can't stand missing all these once I turn 18. That's why, I dread the day I turn 18. Which is important for filipino girls, since it's their debut. Or rather, the day they become adults. ;_; talking about it is damn depressing me.
Been there. In Greece you are an adult when you turn 18 and I didn't want that, though I don't mind now. Like my ex girlfriend used to say: "Everything is an idea" (i.e. "everything is in your mind").

[32] I'd watch any movie made by Tim Burton, or which starts Johnny Depp.
Same for Johnny. I'm neutral towards Burton.

[35] I was born on Friday the 13th. ^_^ Year of the Snake, and...well. Born somewhere around 1:30, or in other words, 13:30. I was also born on the thriteenth floor. Rumour has it that my room number had 13 on it, but that's going too far.

13:45, Wednesday, April 30th, 1986 for me. Year of the Tiger I think :confused

[37] I love exotic animals, and would like to keep a snake. Actually, I love any animal. XD
[38] I love dragons as well. ORLY?!?!?!

I used to want a snake too... untill my change of heart.

[45] Due to my imaginary mind, I I love writing fics. Though I never release them, I still write. I love reading fics as well. XD
[46] I'm a book worm.

I love writing as well :)
A bookworm as well :D

for about airspace invades, this is also what is told to turks..greeks invades airspace, this is another reason that i dont trust media all time :) this is political movements between armies, they both do that, invades areas sometimes to canalize people...for ageia i do not know if it means something for war, all i know greece wants 6 mile rule for ageia that will make them have all ageia and force us to live away from ageia...but this is all politics i beleive

for inferior stuff, there are always people thinking that way, but generally, no, turks do not think like that...there are thousands of greeks living at turkey, being christian and i also have some greek friends, live in istanbul...may be the problem is greeks see turks in that way because turks were the only "enemy" for long time...turks fought against almost all its neighbours for freedom and we do not want any more problem beleive me :)

---off topic---

yes they went apart after ww1 and thanx god they did....but i must say that ottomans allowed to use "Constantinople" for non-muslims...because it is a city important for orthodox (i wrote this wrong i guess) people and trade with europeans..turks and muslims used "istanbul" as a new name of that city..so thats why some ppl and some countries still using "Constantinople"...i told that before because some ppl get confused with names of that city :)

ortodox = orthodox, changed it ;) - K

and new york's old name was new amsterdam... this is another city that know renamed, dont know why i said this????

Read this (http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?p=1858103#post1858103) and you'll know all there is to know about my only girlfriend. Still, I'm on the look out here in Kavala, but girls seem kind of unapproachable to me. It's like I have this message tatooed on my forehead that reads "FRIEND"! Girls, just rush to make me their friend before I even have a shot at being anything else...
Oh, well :p

ok lets continue this here since it was picture discussion thread :)

that was a quite long story..i didnt read all details but i got the essence...i lost some friends because they wanted to date me  so we should unite and solve all the secrects of girls :p

and about friend part i must say it is also your fault..if you like girl, lets say you dont know her but she is cute, do not try to be friend at beginning, never and ever!!! because she can really starts to see you as a normal friend (you will suffer for long time and may be seal your mind just with her)...so at the beginning of your friendship, the very first days of you meet a girl, just let her now that you are interested in her..this is not compliated, say something like "i am glad because of being with you", "i want to see you again/tomorrow" and etc.you got my point, right? ;) simple words and not too offensive ones.dont try to act like friend and dont say "i love you" or like this in the beginnning also, that will make you weak...what is the worst scenario?? you can not date her and you can not be friend with her..so what?? what you loose? you have already nothing at the beginning  :s trust me and take a shot like this, you are handsome so i am sure you will get her ;)

but also having friends are good because it is not very good always hanging with boys  :amuse and i started relationships like this but not achieved long-time relationship so do not ask me how to continue that...i dont know also :(

you are welcome anax :)  i was honest when i said you can get her but just be patient, do not be hasty...but i am also afraid that you will be toooooo patient  :smile-big i hope you will not....

another trick i can say; if you can not talk to that girl alone, then when you get chance just look directly into her eyes for some seconds ;)

let me tell you my story: there was a girl i like, but  i only saw her with her friends, i got no chance catching her alone...so when i saw her, i was looking directly to her eyes as much as i could, even i was talking to somebody else...and when her drinks/meal were finished, i was asking her if she want more, but no one else...one day she said her friend "i will be at mcdonalds until 3 o'clock".( she had a part-time job)...when she was out at 3 o'clock, i was there :) she was suprised, but i took her to her house and during that time, almost 20 minutes, was our first time being alone...and guess what?? she kissed me, yes she kissed me ( not i kissed her :p) i didnt even say "i love you" or tried to be very romantic or etc...but i let her know i was there and even there were other people, my attention was on her....after 5 months we were seperated but this is another story....i mean dont make things complicated, be confident, remember you have nothing to lose

ah, you think you can post i pic? i'd really like to see one :)

There's a piccy up on the forum members photo thread :D

@Raine
Good. So what will be next? After you finish TAFE, is it time for you to do your degree? Is there any matriculation program in Australia? Also, which university will be the better one if someone wants to further their studies in Australia?

I'll be doing a Bachelor of Multimedia. And as far as I know, I'm the only female doing the course. The whole system kind of confuses me... I know I should learn more about what's going on around me ^_^;

And I'm not all that sure about which university is the best one. Though I think there's one in the country at Armidale that they said was pretty good. I'll be going to one of the Southern Cross campuses though. I think they came somewhere in the top thirty at least... But mostly, the best unis are in the city :P

So.... I found some time and read Raine_Joybringer's post....

My aunt is Australian, too! But she lives in Canberra, not in Sydney.
I really would like to visit your country, I think it's quite interesting. Unfortunately even the flight is quite expensive.

I haven't been to Canberra in a few years now. It's a fun place, albeit a bit cold and it's full of politicians XD

25. :Haha Welcome! Of course most of us here are Narutotards. Which one is your fav character? Tsunade? Sakura?
I personally really like Naruto and Obito. But they only rank slightly higher than the others. Most of the characters are so adorable, aren't they?

Tsunade and Sakura are up there, yeah. But Naruto stays in number one :P Mostly because of the orange!

[4] I'm quite fond of Muslims, and I tend to always defend them in forums, when I see people saying stupid stuff against them

I dont find them annoying but rather a bit too troublesome. There are too many rules. I dont think I can live with that. However, I do have a few muslims friend and to tell you the truth, they are pretty kind and I like them.

[5] I'm...religious in a way. >.> I pray every night, and we go to Church regularly every week.
[6]I never drank alchohol in my life except whenever I take the Holy Bread at church, which has a few White Wine in it. And...I'm not planning on becoming like my cousins in the Philipines, who drink beer almost every day. No, thank you.

:s I dont go to church every week. Sometimes it's too difficult to wake up. Other time, I wont go because there is a test on Monday. I drink alchohol since I were 10. :amuse I never know that for that holy communion, there are some wine in it. :o

[13] I always fight with my brother. Literally. REAL FIGHTING.

different from me, I am very close with my brother. Usually during night time when he was studying, I will usually glomp him and rub his hair tickled him and all sort of stuff while he was writing and reading his book. :D We are still close even though he is not home now. :crying

I still sleep with my doll, which I've had since I was three. I'm a huge fan of huggable toys. I have more than 50 of them.

Nothing special. :amuse I still carry my smelly pillow all around the house and sleep with it too. :hug

[25] I really want to meet my close online friends someday. We may not be able to buy an island in the Palms, but I'm willing to meet up with them, one day, and give them a huge glomp.

No, we are targeting for "The World" not the Palms. I told you, if everyone donates US dollar 1, we will have it very soon. :nuts

[29] I hate Britney, Paris and Hillary Duff.
[33] I'm left handed.
[44] I have trouble with concentrating on stuides. The other reason why I dont' study anymore is because I can't seem to concentrate on it. Take away everything distracting me, like the Computer, TV, etc, yetmy mind won't ever concentrate on the first line.

12 play korfball if anybody knows it, really big sports in the netherlands, never heard of in other countries besides belgium

I know Korfball! We played it some time in P.E. until our teacher accused us as being a bunch of idiots who couldn't even throw a ball right. We thought he stopped letting us play Korfball, because we had fun playing it and he hates it when we are happy.

To be honest , we laughed the fist time he told us about it, because of the name and we didn't really like it at the beginning, but it got better when we got better. :)

So, do play Korfball in an official league or something?

Galth
February 21, 2006, 04:25 PM
Well, there's no official league or something, but there is an annual world championship, though only seventeen countries play it, and the finals are ALWAYS Netherlands vs Belgium... with resp. 17-1 wins so far... ( yeah, we're deeply ashamed of that one on the right side... )

And "Korfball" means about the same thing as Basketball... A "Korf" is a straw basket...

Btw, last year the "Korf" has been replaced with an ugly yellow plastic ring... so technically "Korfball" doesn't exist anymore :darn

I know a bit about Muslim's rules too. They cant eat pork, girls have to wear the scraf thing, men have to get circumcize, muslim can only married muslims, if you want to marry a muslim, you will at first be converted into a muslim. Besides, muslims have to pray 5 times a day. It's not really troublesome but it's just that I see this is quite a lot compare to Christian. Hope you understand.

ShgnLW
February 23, 2006, 04:09 PM
I don't like most muslim men, to be honest, they are troublesome, the most criminal delicts (often light delicts) are performed by men who are muslim (in this country) and they are arrogant and annoying and always pick fights.

No offense really: but here in the Netherlands muslims man are often very agressive (not only here I think). Often you hear things like muslim man hits muslim wife and things like that. A lot of muslim boys agree and say that a women must do everything a men says to her else... the belt!!
of course, there are muslim men who are not agressive and things like that. Most of the time they aren't really religious...

I don't want to sound like a racist or something, but I only say the facts (for this country). Sure, I do have a few friends who are muslim, unfortunately one is quiet agressive against anyone who hurts his family (what is, in a way very good. Family honor is very important also for me, but this is wrong) and one is hitting his girlfriend :(:(:(:( But I also know a few who are totally clean :)
BUT NOTE: There are a lot of good muslims all over the world. The once who live here are those who are coming from the countryside and the berbers, who are also not beloved in their home countries.

Between the spoiler tags is something what can become a discussion, it is not ment to offend anyone/anybody/or the half of the world.

o.o;;

Preferably landscape and architecture. I don't like taking photos of people, at least not when they know it.

That's the kind of photographs I love most - taking pictures of people when they don't know it :lmao

But I also aggressively take pictures when people know I'm there too. Sometimes you can get quite dramatic pictures that way. Though yeah, I've had more than one person irrirated at me because of it. Once I was out doing this in the market square in Knoxville with a fellow photographer friend and she was alarmed because I was taking pictures "without asking" - but I was like, I'm a photographer, in order to take genuine photographs of people I HAVE to be bold and daring.

That being said, I do consider landscapes a welcome break from people, though I have no interest in architecture really (unless it's something flamboyant.)

There's a spider on me?!!! Where? Get it off! Get it off!

I'm not crazy about the idea, but we might do FC sections sometimes this spring. One for Naruto, one for Bleach, one for One Piece, one for Mangaverse, and one for General Discussion (where I guess "Left Handed People FC" would go.)

We'll see, if there is enough support for it to happen, and the forum grows big enough, we'll look into it. The biggest problem would be getting enough help to be able to oversee everything. But if members want it to happen, you know where to comment about it ( the Comments forum of course. )

@ shinraiden:

03 . Spent several years in Japan, mainly in the boonies and tambo's.
04 . Learned Japanese mainly through serious study and roujin kaiwa

Sounds like you fit in around here :amuse

My perverse hobby while there was studying train schedules. I was allways going off to the boonies or other silly places gaijin's don't go alone, and winging out of the train schedules, sometimes disastorously. The Suica card though is the best thing since sliced cheese, though the gateless European style is much more accomodating.

13 . Saw Pope John Paul II and Tom Brokaw in Jerusalem during the Jubilee 2000, visited with PM-pro tem Ehud Olmert as well. He's a tough cookie.

You sound well-travelled... any reason for that?

I like to travel, and that's just a few of the people I've seen and places I've been.

22 . Hand-built all four of my pc's; 3 servers and one workstation. Oldest is a 486dx266 Netware 3.11 server pushing SCSI-2 brick drives on an active backplane, two gentoo data servers, and a dual-monitor WinXP workstation that has been virus and spyware free since installation over a year and a half ago. It can be done, and online too.

Multi-talented, eh? :wink

Now I got to rebuild one of my Linux servers into a FreeBSD server to support this stupid RAID controller I got. Friggin vendors...

06 . "watashi wa gaijin de shimatta ga, uchujin de wa nai yo"

What does that mean?

"Although (regetablely) I'm a foreigner (re Japan), I most certainly am not a space-(alien)-person."

15 . Made a pilgrimage to Yad Vashem and Auschwitz, every human needs to do so at least once in their life.

What is this? Is this another form of something like pilgrimage to Mecca by muslims?

It means, that rather than just showing up randomly like a dumb tourist, that I went out of my way to make sure that I went there, and in the right frame of mind, even though I don't have any connections to those places. The point is that imho everyone needs to walk through that valley of the shadow of death to better understand their humanity and the value/price of freedom.

18 . Oldest of seven kids

wow, you have to take care 6 other brothers and sisters. How old are they now? Is the age difference between you and your other 6 brothers and sisters far?

The top end is about 2 years spacing, but it's wider at the bottom. 25->12.

That's what it's supposed to mean. I wouldn't continue associating with a person when they don't have humour, but I'd do the reverse. People with humour live longer. :D So I guess we'll go along just fine. :)

Do people call you Leen? That would inevitably, subconciously relate you with Leen from Grandia... a cute girl who was such an angel (she had wings too). Yup. You "speak" in such a sweet way too, even though you have no wings that I know of. :eyeroll

@ Miso --> Yeah, yeah, yeah... I too listen to the self proclaimed "classical" genre from time to time, and still love Iced Earth (with Matt not Ripper), African music and all sorts of music, while still being open to genres I've never heard of before, even music that can't be categorized!! Right now I'm in the mood for Angelo Braduardi's "Il Sultano di Babylonia" (sp).

@Eileen --> Yup, we have something in common! Yay!! Umm, I think autodidactics (being a Greek word and also somewhat explained by Predator already) means that he can learn things by himself well. I wonder how many cool abilities I'd have if I lived in America where they have a name for everything </bitter sarcasm>

@GK --> Sadly after the Romans took over Greece and it became a part of the Roman empire and later the Byzantine empire, everyone was turned into a Christian Orthodox so Dionysianism is considered paganistic, barbaric, primitive... heretic. Not only that but also some Greeks who are into ancient Greece, also dream that one day we will "take back" the lands Alexander the Great conquered, which the Church has manipulated in a way that everyday people spontaneously relate anyone talking about ancient Greece with idol worshiping and the such... It's actually revolting to see how people learn to hide their interests and in the end abandon them because they aren't "politicaly correct". Anyway, my emotions seem to get the better of me, so I'll shut up now.

It does. And a little girl used that word out of a blue in the Black Cat manga series, which prompted the main character, Train, to exclaim "Auto... autodidactic!!? When did you learn such an advanced word!?" XD

Didactic was a word I'm VERY familiar from my art history classes, though.

14. i have a special pillow since i could remember..still can't sleep w/out it. (wierd huh)

That's not weird, most people have some sort of 'idol' object they cannot be without... My little brother has had a towel, rolled up and taped so it would stay that way, which he couldn't sleep without and i only recently became able to sleep without my cute little teddybear called "Beertje" ( =little bear, but sounds cuter in dutch ^^ ), who is so worn out etc that he only sticks together because of a lot of little stitches and little pieces of tape... Oh and he misses his nose and most of his fur...

5. so i'm gonna be a US citizen soon (not sure if i'm thrilled about it)

14. i hate math (failed once in my calc class) and see i don't know how to count!!!

17. i was introduced to naruto and bleach at the same time
18. i'm still not done watching all the naruto episodes
19. i liked bleach first :amuse
20. but after 130+ episodes of naruto..i don't know which i prefer anymore, naruto or bleach

Cool - I got introduced to Naruto one year before Bleach, and I really only got into Bleach after I was moderated at NF and occa and Tenshi said I should try it. Occa even sent me some chapters through YSI because she didn't know where I could download them and I couldn't get it through mIRC at the time. After a while I started totally getting into Bleach and there was a point where it ALMOST suprassed Naruto in my mind - but... after the Soul Society arc, it kinda lost its luster TOO fast. I still enjoy it, but I enjoy Naruto better on a constant basis. (Though lately the balance is starting to tip again in Bleach's favor, I'm getting kind of tired of this current Naruto storyline =/ )

23. i started coloring during the winter vacation..and i was lucky enough to join zarosaki.

Ohh, didn't know you were with Zarosaki :) That explains why you're able to color Bleach pages so well!

A lot of fencers at the Olympics are left-handed, simply because they're so unpredictable :D *random unimportant fact*

Yeah, it seems most right-handed fencers have trouble with lefties, while the lefthanded themselves have always trained against both opponents and therefore better prepared...

Concering that belief, I've even read about it in a magazine! To tell you the truth I never felt it'd be such a trump card to have. Of course I can't see myself from a right handed person's perspective, which only leads me to ask you righties: "Do you really feel surprised if a person you'd be fighting against was a lefty?"
As for fencing, I don't like it myself, but I like Japanese swords and would like to take up Kendo. Still, I don't know all the differencies among Japanese sword related martial arts and in Kavala there's only a school for Iaido. I remember reading in a magazine that left handers weren't accepted in such schools in Japan of the old. I wonder if they do now, if they know how to teach us left handers and all... It makes me feel awkward because it's how I was born and a lot of people I know acted as if it was a desease... I was even told that my "left handedness" was the cause of my "awful handriting". To which I replied "..." in the usuall manga way and assumed an expression much like this :sweat

Maybe left-handiness leads to Narutardism :eyeroll - if you have the proverb in the english language too, they usually say i have two left hands :eyeroll ( means you're clumsy etc )

Wouldn't want to spoild that image for you Khaludh but I'm the only person out of both my classes who is in anyway related to Japan, let alone manga and Naruto... Man, everyone I know in Kavala has been informed of my petty attempt at learnign Japanese and they all make fun of me and say it's not humanly possible (damn them inhuman Japs :xp ).
As far as expressions go, in Greece the word for "skill", "craftmanship" is "δεξιοτεχνία"/"theh-ksi-oh-tehh-nih-ah", being a combination of the words "right", "δεξιός"/"theh-ksi-os" and the word art, " τέχνη"/"tehh-nih". There's also a saying, "May everything go right", only that in Greek the word "right" only means the direction, so saying that you also give the word the meaning of "well". Still, it's funny that such a literal translation of a Greek proverb gives us, more or less, a common English expression :D

@ Kahreen

i) Will we get to see a pic of you?
ii) You hate math? Who doesn't :eyeroll
iii) Sugoi. As in...?

v) I would like to see some of your coloring. Mind giving us specifics of releases, pages etc.?

ii) Yah, I do hate it. That's my worst subject ever. Next to that is English.
iii) No specifics really, as long as its not too wierd. It can be as simple as singing in a Kareoke eventhough he can't sing well enough. It's his problem to think about and for me to decide.
iv) Yes I'm crazy about football, but not to the point that I'll buy my own jersey and wear it. I just like yelling at the TV when someone makes a touchdown or fumble. However, it would be nice if someone could bring me to the stadium and watch it live. Besides, it's a pointer for a gal like me to know sports. For me not be shoved aside when guys started talking about it. :amuse
v) I posted some of my bleach colorings here. But most naruto pages i colored are for Zarosaki. I was a noobie at coloring back then that's why some of the pages I colored were the simple ones.  I came to Zarosaki when they're doing pages 262-267. It will take a while for them to release it.
vi) My name sounds as simple as Karen..but with the extra h and e, some people have difficulty pronouncing or even spelling it right. Another thing, whatever my name means in Albanian, I'm not gonna beg on it's meaning as long as it's not a curse word or something.

For example I use scissors with my right hand better, I can also write with my right hand (though not that well, but they, not that I've practised all that much), and I control my right hand tendon's better than the left hand's (of course it could be the other way around for righties...)
Anyway, :ossu for ambidextrous people! :D

And Silver Archer, do tell us 25-50 things about you on the other thead :D

Ambidexterity is great, unless you're forced into it. Some years ago, I had a cast on my right hand, my good hand. Naturally, because I'm a righty I can't write very good with my left hand. But because I'm a good student :darn I did most of my homework on the computer or I dictated it to my mother. A problem appeared with my Physics test, but my teacher said I could write the test another time. And here I thought "At least the cast is good for something", BUT my idiot of a Chemistry teacher made me do the Chemistry test anyway and I failed it, because I wasn't fast enough with my left hand. And do you think he cared? No, of course not.
The thing I learned from that is to practice doing things with the hand you're not so good with, because you never know what teachers or bosses you might get. I write faster and clearer with my left hand now, but it's still a bit difficult for me.

I just thought I'd share that story with you. :)

Yay for lefties. Finally we win, DZ. :glomp :glomp

I did tried to write using my right hand but failed miserably. :amuse My right hand is almost sleeping all the time unless for typing or other things that need two hands to operate at the same time. I brush my teeth, play badminton, use sissors, draw, paint, erase, eat, all of them, using left hand. The bad thing is that I cant use sissors well since the shape of the hole and the sissors itself is designed for right-handers, not lefties. :darn I can only use pne knife to cut. *insert malu*

:amuse Thanks Miso. I really love chocolate but I barely gained weight eating it. I don't know why.

Those are really mean teachers you had Bibichan. Sometimes they can really be a pain specially when they're under a deadline and have to make the grades and stuff.

*laughs @ DZ's bigfont post*

Oh..A family friend of mine can write well with both hand, but there's a situation where she got denied to an important applications (working visa for Hong Kong, i believe) because she checked that she's a lefty but during the interview she signed form w/her right hand. Unfortunate for her though. Lots like her back where i came from wants to go abroad. People in the customs are really strict so if they'll find a way to deny you even a tiny little reason.

3. I am an Indian [From India. Its a fairly decent dized country in south asia, the bottom half pokes out of the continent like a peninsula, above sri lanka, (look it up in a map if the location still makes no sense ) and it does NOT have elephants roaming all over the place. Also, 95% of the people do NOT wear turbans.]

It's really interesting to have somebody from India here. Have you ever seen the Taj Mahal?

5. I enjoy reading anime [fairly obvious as I visit on this website]

Indeed! What's your favorite ones? Does your screenname Silver Archer come from one of the manga you read?

6. I like the lord of the rings, however I have never gotten around to reading the whole book. I saw all the movies though. that said, I did read all of the hobbit and I liked it.

You should read LoTR at least once. It's an unique reading experience.

12. I have studied Shotokan Karate two times in my life. Both times the dojo I was studying at closed down a few months after I got in it. Both instances happened nearly a decade ago.

Very cool. Seems like we have quite a number of martial arts enthusiasts here ( I did Tai Chi Chuan - Chen style ).

13. I hate summer. [You'd hate it too if it went to 35 degrees C with a near 100 percent humidity]

I hate unexpected hot days more than summer - like today, it's the end of winter and everything but I still didn't expect it to be so hot that I'd get sunburnt jogging in the park. I didn't realize I was sunburnt until I got home.

At least in summer I KNOW it's going to be hot... we've been having freaky weather around here.

16. I cannot drive, nor do I own a car.

In India, isn't that probably a good thing? I've heard it can be very crowded and impossible to get around there. Do you go on the bus a lot?

17. I hear a lot of people complain that they cannot download anime on dialup. However I downloaded the first 60 episodes of naruto on dial up. It was extremely tedious, but I did it. an episode in around a week [these were compressed episodes in rmbv format, around 60 MB each].

Impressive - I managed to get the Spider-Man 2 movie trailer on dial-up and that was it; I wasn't able to stay online long enough to download a single episode. I'm glad to have broadband.

Actually, he was the only bad science teacher I ever had. My biology teacher is also our year advisor and she's the coolest! But I never had a good maths teacher (except for one, but I already had around eight maths teachers). My current one even made me do orals, because I had been on exchange and she said she needed more marks. Problem is that she didn't have to give me a mark. Well, I passed with a 1- anyway. Silver_Archer does not originate from any work of fiction I am aware of. It is something I came up with at random. As far as my favorite anime is concerned, Bleach, Naruto, Blood+, Mushishi, Detective Academy Q, Inuyasha, Rorouni Kenshim, Ghosts in the Shell SAC, the second one as well, Speed Grapher, the list goes on. *rises hand* Me, too. They are both funny and action/martial arts.

well miso your the one of the few who know where my name comes from most ;)

no i dont hate my glasses miso its just that i am not used to them,i only knew i had to wear them last summer,so i dont wear them during most actions but my colleages are now used to seeing me before every lecture reaching into my bag and taking my glasses out and wearing them,i need them in lectures and while reading and on the PC,thats why i said in one of the 16 points i posted about myself that i dont like reading books, its only becuase i couldnt do it easilly,i never was able to read more than a page in 30 minutes at one point, and then after i finish school and start university, the reason is found,I CANT SEE,thats all,but i still managed through.

what jackie chan movies do you like most of all?

Tamerlane - congrats on doing 50 comments XD ...I was just wondering why and how your brother knew Sign Language?

Thanks! Actually I think that it started with my youngest brother actually, he is autistic and the doctors said that the best way to communicate with him may be thru sign language. So that sparked an interest. Then when he went away to college he met a friend ofhis that was deaf, so he started learning sign language and they ended up being best friends because of it. My brother then started going to deaf churches and talking with the people there. It was funny becuase they were surprised to find out that my brother was in fact not deaf he just apprently speaks very well. Now after he finishes his schooling where he is at he is going to go to another school and be certified as a deaf translator(or something like that, I just called him for the details). Of course in the meantime my brother came home and got my Mom interested in signing and now she is taking classes at college for it and is teaching my two youngest brothers how to sign as well. I am the only one in the family to date that has not picked it up yet >_> My excuse is that the classes are not offered at night for me and that is the only time that I can go to school. Maybe when I have more time I will pick it up as well, it really depends on my interest level.

That's my girl! :p I love cats so you're now in my good books.

It was an adorable kitten too! It was stuck out in this demonic tree and it was raining outside and cold. So I scurried up the evil tree and tossed the kitty down. My Aunt then gave the kitty a home and it lives there to this day.

Cool! :dance I also like to read. What are your favourite books? Your favourite genre?

I love anything Sci-fi or Fantasy. I think that I listed a few of my favorite authors but some include the Shannara series by Terry Brooks, The Dragonlance series by Margert Weis and Tracy Hickman, a lot of Stephen Kings books including the Dark Tower series and of course the Lord of the Rings.

I sometimes listen to that, too although I prefer Rock and Metal more. Which are your favourite songs?
From System of a Down: I just love Chop Suey! :D

I love Chop Suey too! That is a great song and will never get old for me. I also like Innervision and basically all of Toxicity.

Cool - show us some stuff.

::blushes:: It was not that good in my opinion. The problem that I ran into was that I could draw from a picture perfectly but when it came to original work I really sucked. I am sure that there are people on here that are a lot better than I ever was. o_o

My brother is a very unique person and has a love of languages in general. I know that he talks a lot to the different people on campus in both Spanish and with Sign to help him keep in practice. He is one of those people that rather than talk about helping others he actually gets out there and does it. :amuse

Ohh, story time? XD

Ok! Story time it is! ::passes out some popcorn::

I think that I shall tell the complete story of my adventures in the Mohave Desert. A few years ago I found myself living on the opposite side of the country for reasons that I will not bore you with here. At any rate I had grown up on the east coast and suddenly found my self in the rather warm and dry climate of California. This drastic change brought about a certain fascination for me and any little chance I got I wanted to explore since I knew that my time there was limited. Well at one point I had to drive about 4 hours out of my way to a tiny place called 29 Palms. First let me describe this wonderful town. It was named after supposedly having 29 plams tree in the desert, only I think that by the time that I arrived they had all withered and died a long time ago. It was situated on the very edge of the Mohave Desert and was the only town to date that I have ever been in that still had dirt roads in places. When I asked the hotel lady what there was to do around town she gave a list of like 20 bars and then as an afterthought mentioned that there was a state park a few miles down the road. Given my options I chose the park although it was not hard to imagine what the rest of the locals were into.

So I hopped into my trusty Neon and off I went. I found the park and after paying a few dollars to get in and being handed a map I was on my way. Little did I know that the guy that gave me the map was the last person that I was to see the entire time I was in the park. Anyways I glanced over the map and decided to check out this old gold mining camp that was set about 2 miles back in the mountains. I noticed that it was getting a bit late but then I figured that would be fine, I mean it is hot in the desert right? This would just make the hiking easier (please note the lack of logic and foresight here). So after some trial and error....the roads were not very well marked and were all dirt so at times it was difficult to see if I was even on a road anymore, I arrived at what I hoped was the right area. I parked my trusty Neon, hopped out armed with a water bottle and my camera all set to explore!

So I started walking...and walking...then some climbing..then some more walking....and yet more walking and I finally arrived at my destination. By this time I was quite tired since most of the 2 miles was uphill, something my trusty map did not mention. Not to mention that I was completly covered in dirt since when the wind did decided to blow it kicked up a ton of dust. So I got there, took some pics and then noticed with no small amount of alarm that my little hike took a lot longer than expected and the sun was almost completly set. Ok so it was time to start back.

So I started and very quickly realized that I was going to be trying to hike these trails in complete dark long before I got even near the car. So in a moment of incredible decision making I decided to take a shortcut (not one of my better ideas). I thought that I could see an area where if I cut across it that it would drop me off further down the trail so off I went...only to trip and fall down a hillside. Thankfully I was not hurt and I got up, brushed myself off and started heading toward where I thought I had seen the other side of the trail. By this time it is completly dark out and I am navigating my moonlight. Not to mention that my imagination is starting to get the better of me and I am just imaging snakes and spiders rearing out of the shrubbery and attacking my legs. At this point I think that I was sniffling a bit because damnit I was tired, filthy and I was positive that there snakes about and where was that damn trail?

Then in a moment that I look back on and realize was sheer luck I ran into the trail which was only recognizable since it was the same rock formation that I stopped at on my way in. I was saved! So I started stumbling my way back to the car. When I finally saw my Neon again I think that I could have cried, I have never been so happy to see my car in my entire life.

And that ends my adventures in the Mohave Desert. Did I mention that I got some awesome pics from it? :amuse

@ dula - why does your mom know SO many languages? XD

@ Keeler - do you do downhill skiing as a sport then, not just for fun? Have you ever tried to do anything competitive like the Olympics? And that's cool you like Hellboy comics - I don't have all the graphic novels but I do have most of them and it's pretty unique. Movie wasn't bad either at all either.

@ Isuki - my eyes change too, from greenish-blue to blue to bluish-gray. Somebody told me it was because of the seasons. I also love swimming and I guess it's for the same reasons as you. And I guess I would be one of these people who don't care much at all about music - unfortunately XD

@ kadoman - why don't you like fantasy novels while loving fantasy movies? Ah, and I love Terminator 2 too. Unbelievable how good that movie is.

@ vanguardx - bro! You play American football too? Nice, what position? How good is your team?

@ lil yukie - you'll have to show us your fanarts sometimes! Start a Deviantart maybe. Don't let school get in the way!!! Also, I used to date a girl who wanted to be a fashion designer too, and I can tell ya right now - it's pretty tough to make it, but it's possible. But you may want to plan on becoming a New Yorker ( that is, if you're American ).

@ FHT - A real gamer eh? And whoa you're shy around girls? Wouldn't have thought that XD
And thanks for the compliments :amuse

@ kadoman - why don't you like fantasy novels while loving fantasy movies?  Ah, and I love Terminator 2 too.  Unbelievable how good that movie is.

Of course, I love Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. I just find everything else uninspiring. Often the writing is bad (why just because it is fantasy, do authors feel the need to adopt an unwieldy and stifling narrative tone?), the dialogue worse (characters adopt same speaking tone as awful narrator). And why must so many fantasy books come with the obligatory map/family tree that spans three million years/glossary of stupid made up words and terms?

OK, I shouldn't tar all fantasy books with the same brush. But let's put it this way: nobody has recommended me something I've liked. So, er, if you know of a fantasy book that you reckon is original, well written and breathes fresh life into the genre...I'm open to ideas!!:)

I love maps, so I appreciate that part about fantasy novels :amuse

Well, I'll agree some fantasy novels are a bit generic, especially after reading so many. But anyway: my favorites (other than LoTR of course) are David Eddings' Belgariad and Mallorean books, Margeret Weis/Tracy Hickman's Dragonlance Trilogy and Death Gate Cycle series, and I also enjoy Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, and for pure fun, R.A. Salvatore's Cleric Quintet and sometimes his Dark Elf novels as well. Piers Anthony's Xanth series used to be a big favorite of mine (first fantasy series I ever read as a kid), but it's gotten old of late.

The only series I've read that I probably wouldn't recommend to you, judging by your comments, is Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Also a major rip-off of LoTR to boot.

Ooooh be careful of that one. It is huge and it is still ongoing. Lets put it this way...I started it when I was in the 7th grade...it it is still not finished. Not to mention that at one point my favorite character got stuck underneath a wall for like 3 books.....to thisday I am not sure if the author just forgot about him or not. :notrust

2) I'm currently undergoing the torture of college searching
Good luck with that! :amuse

10) I have hazel eyes, but they sometimes change to green or blue. I've never figured out what triggers them to change color. =P
That is really interesting. I am not sure that mine ever do that....perhaps light blue to dark blue?

13) I'm very afraid of heights.
Awwwww.....I remember @_@ This time no trying to get Isuki's on large rollercoasters.

16) I once had a pet squirrel which my family adopted, but we let it go shortly after. It was found half dead, so we nursed it back to health.
How adorable! Did you give him a name before setting him free?

25) Swimming always made me think I was in space, because when you're under the water you can go in any direction, unlike when you're on land. Because of this, I love it. ^^

That is the best way that I have ever heard it described. But it fits perfectly why I love it as well. o_o

3. I collect quality fan art
OOooh what sort fan art do you have? I love anything that is well drawn. :amuse

I'm not a registered member of NF (I'm one of those guests who lurk there) so I'll say it here: OMG!! Your research is amazing! I'mlooking forward to the 2nd version.

9. Met a girl who used to be my senpai in Singapore.

12. Stewie is the funniest charater ever to me. (so i watch family guy)

Yay! Another Family Guy fan :whoo

3. I’m 50% Malay, 20% Spanish, 20% Chinese, 10% Indian

I wish I could estimate the percentage to mine. I'm surprised that we have the same groups of people for ancestors.

17. I first encountered the computer when it was still known as the XT and had a 5-inch floppy drive. (that old huh?)
18. The first program that I used was Wordstar 4

Great read both, Okyatoks, karasu and Ayah :D - i don't really feel the need to comment mostly, but i'll leave two for the sake of it :p

52. I still read death note, despite the fact that i hate mangas that scratches off a very important character in the middle of the story.. (I like it better if the manga stopped when L died...)

I used to think the same way, but lately i'm very glad the manga continued :nuts, if DeathNote stops after this 'arc' ( only a few chapters to go? ) It would be perfect imo ^^ ( though i'd miss it... new manga by same mangaka's yay for that! )

2. I’m almost 6 feet in height

Littl'un! :D

Alright, either i missed it, or you didn't tell us, but how old are you, Okyatoks? ( and adults ( i make this 25+ in my mind for this post ) that read manga aren't childish, they're cool!! ) :D

Okyatoks: Loves the fun forum :p - did you add that?

lol.. i don't really approve of near.. and i really think the arc where light lost his memory is really unnecessary... coz in the end kira2 can't remember L's name as well... but i'm a real big lover of the early death note...smart and creative..but after that is just.. "haha, i know you're gonna do this..." "haha, i know that you know that i'm gonna do that..so i've prepared something else" "haha, i know that you're smart enough to know that i know that you know that i know what you're gonna do.. so i prepared something else too.." "haha, then everything is according to my plan.." "well, it's also according to my plan.."
i was a fan of early Light where he still holds his ideal..and a fan of L's wits...

49. My mom likes watching subbed Korean and Japanese drama, with an occasional Taiwanese one thrown in.

haha..and so does my mom...
i believe the Taiwanese drama refers to "Meteor Garden" ???

I don't really hate korean drama, some are good and the sad stories sometimes makes me cry.. Stairway to Heaven..
Stairway to heaven, if anyone watched it... the guy been in love with the girl since a little kid, but the girl had a boyfriend since little too... when they grew up (25yo or so..) the girl's eyes started to go blind coz of eye cancer... the guy (whose love was one sided all along) kill himself in order to give his eyes to her.. after getting married to her love.. she died because the cancer infected her brain as well... lol.. my gf cried a lot on that movie...

and japanese drama.. i love the live action Kindaichi and GTO... and i like The Sun Shines Forever (Hideaki Takizawa starred in it) variant titles would be The Sun Never Sets/Dipped etc.. about this guy who took his mum for granted, then one day his mum died, hospital said it's because of fatigue, they cremated her corpse, they found a scalpel in her remains.. the guy then fight on to sue the hospital, for only 100 yen or so.. but of course, accepting the sue would mean that the hospital accept the fact that they're really at fault..so the legal issue fight goes on..finding evidence and supports from people..at the same time, the guy who's really sad fell in love with the girl who consoled her a lot..who happens to be the hospital owner's daughter..

Been a while since I last wandered over here but it's enjoyable learning about all of you ^^

@ Rampages - that's a interesting heritage you have - Vietnamese AND Persian! Congrats on being accepted into college! :thumbs

@ eQuek - cool, you have a parrot. :amuse And since a certain somebody here asked me to give them a custom title right after I gave you yours, I'm wondering if he's your best friend. He also happened to post right after you did :p

@ Jannek - good luck on learning how to play tennis. My dad was a tennis champion in high school, but it never took for me. What are your "huge dreams" btw? You didn't elaborate on them XD

@ Dyro - my friend! :glomp You're such a prankster. We should've gotten your services when it was April's Fool day here.

@ Karasu - Dirga, cool name. Sounds like you care a lot about your girlfriend. Sounds like her family might expect a lot of you - good luck on that.

@ KTFS - haha, another Steelers fan here. ( Anonymous Spore, the translator of Eyeshield 21, is a Steelers fan too. ) I love Suikoden as well. Wow, you were married? That's not something I hear everyday on forums. Sorry it didn't work out, but glad you were comfortable enough to reveal that about yourself here :) Hope it works out next time. Cool that you're into American comics, I am too.

@ Okyatoks - you too! Into American comics, I mean. Maybe we should do an American Comics thread here sometimes. Anyway I do get the sense that you've lived a pretty full life from your post, I would say you're well into your 20's or early 30's? Pretty cool all the stuff you've been able to do so far.

@ Ayah - hehe, I'm glad you decided to stay around here. What is it with Filipino girls and actors in musicals anyway? Nah-Nah was VERY interested in the actor who did Gin in the Bleach musical, heh. And hey, a fellow Virgo! I was born September 10 ;)

@ newyorkchick - If I ever need information on social studies now I know where to look ;)

@ Fuzzy - was surprised to see you post here, you shy guy you XD Here's to more coffee :D

@ okyatoks
Kuya! I would never have guessed your THAT old :p According to my mom, one of her grandfathers was Chinese who married a Spaniard. My dad's sister claimed that we have Indian blood when she traced our family tree. Salamat sa bati! (Thanks for the greeting!)

@ Karasu
She has already seen Meteor Garden 1 & 2. I know she has other Taiwanese titles aside from those two. I remember her having MARS (yes, this is the almost same MARS as the shoujo manga). She has also seen Stairway to Heaven although I don't know if she has any of the Japanese titles you listed. She got to watch Gokusen 1 & 2 though. BTW, my eyes are dark brown too.

@ KTFS
It's good to know that we both like at least 2 things (Family Guy and the Suikoden series). To tell you the truth, I only got into playing Suikoden recently with Suikoden III. I have that game for a long time, played it for a while then took a break that lasted for months. A few months ago, I decided to replay it and finish it this time and so I did. I really like it. I am yet to get Suikoden IV and Tactics/Rhapsodia but I heard that Suikoden IV is not as good as the other games in the series.

@GK
About your question on Filipinas and actors in musicals, I don't know except... we think they are cute? It's all in one's preferences. The rest is just coincidence, I guess, just like our birthdays :D

@ newyorkchick
I agree with what okyatoks said, you seem very feisty.

11. Alot of people seem to fear me.... and I dont know why lol
I was thinking that perhaps they fear your godly cleaning skills? xD

haha wow. I hope I don't bombarded by the newbe haters. when I saw the nevative ki I was like hu? What I do?. But I will tell you this when I get to my 50th post if i still have that negative whould you do the honors of giving me a positivie ki just so I can be back to 0? lol.

@GK and Ayah
September babies!!! XD well that makes 3 of us mines is Sept 22 Last day of Virgo.

@GK Yup a steeler fan I've waited many moons to see them win it all. ( Must find Anonymous Spore he knows how I feel.) :) I played Suikoden for the first time in '01 now i'm  hooked. Great stoyline too.

As for bening married yeah thank you. I didn't have the luck your mom and dad have (On the wounderful easter egg hunt thorugh out MH witch I never found all of them. I ran into a topic thats how I know. You wrote about your parents.) But it's fine I was young and had no business doing that when I think about it now. The good side to it is if I ever get married again (that is no time soon) I know what to look out forand what to do. To me life is Made up of the multitude of things you do and experiences you have good or bad. (Well not really bad cuz there's good in bad. Small but still good.) And I like living and i'm gonna do it my way as long as I can.

Yesir x-men, spiderman & batman I have a box with comic in there from 86 I think thats when I got my first comic book. ( just found it too) Age of Apocalypse story line is my fav. So which is your fav charater and comic? Okya A.k.a. Kuya likes Wolverine I like Gambit.

@Ayah
Yeah thats is true. But it's a good start. I started  in '01 with part one and thats where i got hooked. Part IIs the best as far as story gose. and part IV is diffrent thats why some people didn't like. it becomes more of a navital fight insted of the land fighting people are used to and the world is small. But it's still a good game. Plue the new rune kicks a**

Edit:
@ Rampages The ki gods are confused but i'm at plus 1 now *woundering how long that'll last*

lol, i'm not following all those dramas anymore... as a matter of fact, i'm a big hater of F4 in meteor garden.. I use to have long hair and i like it... but ever since that drama boomed, they kept saying how i copied their hairstyle... damn them.. so once i can't stand anymore comments, i cut it really short, and mess it up.. now the korean dramas are booming, they say i'm copying their hairstyle..again... i just can't keep up.. :(
btw, MARS is shoujo? damn i thought MARS refers to the MARS (same titled manga) about horse-racing...
lucky i didn't download them.. i had MARS (the horse racing ones) back in indonesia.. sad sad stories..

Italian Serie A is one of the best football championships of the world, along with English and Spanish ones!!! ;)
It's great that you like Inter, and, actually, I'm glad that Arsenal kicked Juve's ass. I just hate those bas*ards!!! :p

i was bored so i just typed boffen in this search engine for fun and thats when i came across with
misos questions about my 25 things.... how rude am I for not notice that she actually
wanted to know stuff from my post? well in my defense i missed it.. (clumpsy as I am)
anyway a little late but heres my answers after a long long time

boffenjl: What does your nick mean? It looks so complicated.

it doesnt mean anything really. boffen is just a nickname ive had since i was like 12 or something. JL is the
first letters in my last names.

2. I almost only drink coca cola and tea(sometimes beer)

:eyeroll Although I don't only drink this I also like both drinks. I always have a thermos flask with tea at school.

why havent i thought of that??? thats freakin brilliant! i thank you for this great idea and from now on i shall do the same.

5. I am a coach for a school female swedish-rugby team.

Wow, that's cool. How is your team called? What league do they play in?
What do you like about coaching? How do you train your team?

The name is Nullus Secundus. dont ask me why :s... they dont really play in a league,
thing is. we only play one game a year and thats at a huuuuuge school festival thingie, so you
train for all of the first semester and over the winter holidays and then the match plays in april....
youre curios right now arent you? did we win? yes we did. :whoo :clap :whoo 7-4
what i like about coaching? well its fun to see other people actually learn stuff from you and become better
over time. its a good feeling to pass on stuff. (even if it is how to avoid getting your ass dragged to the floor :p)
Im a pretty strict coach actually. disciplin works best during the training loud voice and lots of yelling, but then you
laugh it off afterwards

8. I cant train kickboxing or play rugby anymore because i was in a car accident this summer... that was fun

:o Fun!? O RLY? Tell us a bit more about that, ok?

ok thats a really looooooong story. really long so i think I have to start a new topic or something... but if you still
want to know i can make a new post or something?

12. My dream is to try every extreme thing in the world. and with that i mean bungy jumping and that kinda stuff.

You are quite brave. I think that I would be to afraid to ever try something like bungy jumping. Although I would like to paraglide perhaps.

me brave? nah... im more the thrillseeking stupid kind of guy. but hey if we ever get the opportunity
we can bungy together so you dont have to be afraid! :XD

24. I am also currently creating a pen and paper rpg for star wars.

Oh yeah? I really like Star Wars. What do you like best of it?

the best thing about star wars? teh fact that the first time you saw the movies they were so
incredibly mindblowing. i remember i was seven when i first saw ROTJ, and OMG! They had
laserswords! swords made of laser! and huge spaceships and explosions and little furry people!
that feeling has kinda stuck ever since, i love star wars.

(longest post ever that wasnt a translation!)
