Hiya, first time making the discussion thread myself, so if I'm wrong with anything, please correct me, OK? ;)

So, Out Code, by Himenogi Haruhiko and Suzuragi Karin, is first serialized in Monthly Shounen Rival, Issue August 2008.

Summary:
One boy, Kirisaki Kirio, is suspected of being the murderer in the strange case of serial murder of middle school and high school students, where one of the corpse are burned to death in the rainy day and another one was burnt in the pool. During his cross-examination is when he met with Shirogane, a girl in PSI who is investigating on the case. After their interaction, Shirogane comes to know of Kirisaki's special power . . .

PS. Sorry, I totally failed at giving summary. Hate doing so . . . >_<"

Pictures will come soon . . . for now, discuss . . . >_<"

After reading the first chapter...I'd give it a 7/10...for now. The storyline certainly has potential. But there's one thing that disappointed me:

Why didn't they show exactly how she figured out the code. I mean...I get the gist of it, but it was a bit vague and gave the chapter a 'rushed' feel.

As for how she solved the code...Well monami Hastings, allow me to tell you!

..or allow wikipedia,whatever.

..and yes, I understood what kind of code it was as soon as I saw it. Mystery geek here, I occasionally research about different encodings from time to time.

on that note, using the QR_Code the image you would get for the sentence "Come to here and request
I will kill you" is rather different from the one shown at the manga (yeah I wasted my time checking that. Mystery geek here.) but again that is because the original text was in japanese...so....Ah but the scans should have changed the original code so that it would match the translation.

..
Okay I admit I'm probably the only person in the world that noticed that the code when decoded doesn't translate to the words used in the scanlation, but still....

...so yeah,I loved this manga. When does the next issue come out?

It is literally out . . . I'll scan it when I got my scanner back (and after I work on the priority list for scanning stuff . . . it's just a big pile of mess currently >_<")

Wow...now it's so much clearer. Not being Japanese...of course I wouldn't get it. Thanks for clarifying this point for me. :D Normally the translator would add some kind of notation...of course I'm grateful to the translator, but perhaps he had not known of this fully as well.

I am interested in knowing how the scans would have changed the code? I was apart of the scnalation process (JAC group), so should it have been flipped or something? :s

Ohhh...it's out huh? Thanks for the info Judasu and for getting it. :D

No problem. I'm not japanese either but I read a mystery novel some time ago that had QR codes in it so...
Oh you are part of the scanlation team? Thanks for scanlating this awesome series!

And about the code,I made a mistake. I figured that the image could be "decoded" into the words "Come to here and request
I will kill you" but I forgot to take into consideration the different kinds of coding, and all that other complicated stuff. So when I used an online generator to make a QR code with the same words used in the scan and the image was slightly different...it made me think that the original image showed in the scan corresponded to the japanese words used, but not the translation. I could still be right(I am not sure,to be honest) but you shouldn't bother to have to change the image used in the QR code just because of that. It's not like anyone is going to try to decipher the code before they flip the page or anything.(..okay maybe I would but I didn't do that this time XD besides it would take an insane amount of work to decipher a QR code without a scanner...).sorry for the confusion haha.

Oh and thanks Ju-da-su for getting it XD

I knew about the QR code, I also researched on it when I read it from the chapter. :P Sorry though, it didn't occur to me to leave a note. I should've done that, yeah.
