Why Kishi is going to focus on Kakashi and Sakura

I just discovered that some time ago Kishimoto was quoted saying this year hes going to focus on developing Kakashi and Sakura and after some time it hit me. Its obvious why hes focusing on these 2 specificaly. My theory as is followed.

One of the main themes in Naruto is student surpassing master.

Sasuke surpassed Orochimaru
Orochimaru surpassed the Third
Jiraiya surpassed the Third
Minato surpassed Jiraiya
Pein surpassed Jiraiya
Naruto surpassed Kakashi
Shikamaru surpassed Asuma

I'm sure there are others but this helps narrow the fact down that Kakashi hasnt surpassed Minato. And Sakura hasnt surpassed Tsunade. And they are both key characters in the manga.

Well thats pretty much my theory I'm sure I am probably not the first to come up with it and post it but there it is. Hope someone found it interesting.

are you really sure that sasuke surpassed orochimaru?

Well for each one I listed theres not a "I've surpassed so and so" But I believe Sasuke did surpass oro. He wasn't the actual one to kill him but he sealed and contained him and overcame his greatest technique. And to me thats a means of surpassing. Don't get me wrong I hate sasuke and I hope orochimaru makes a comeback somehow.

well yes, kakashi and sakura havent still surpassed their masters and i doubt kakashi will ever surpass the 4th, since he was one of the strongest ninja ever to be.

I have often thought about that "sakura and kakashi will get some love" sentence.
I believe that we will see kakashi becoming an importat piece in konoha political structure, like becoming advisor or maybe on the way to the hokage seat.
For sakura.. really dont know. Maybe she will get some higher training from the slugs, or she will become jounin..I bet that she will surpass tsunade some days.

Kakashi is not going to surpass Minato. Kakashi told Naruto that he is the only one to surpass Yondaime. Yamato thought he was merely stroking Naruto's ego but he said he meant it.

Kakashi is going to surpass his father in the regard that he will save his team but not live with the disgrace of failing his mission. His father saved his team but failed the mission. Kakashi with his genin team completed the mission but lost a teammate. This time he will do both.

I still don't want tsunade to die just so sakura could surpass her. I see tsunade fatally wounded and thought to be incurable but sakura is able to heal her. This focus on sakura will reflect her realization that sasuke is an enemy after hearing that he has joined akatsuki.

As for kakashi, perhapshe will be the ninja to show sasuke the way, but really I prefer naruto beating his ass to show that.

I Think kakashi and sakura are getting developed on is to set up for the team 7 reunion w/ Sasuke. It would Suck if just Sasuke and Naruto was all super strong and Kakashi and Sakura were left behind. I think that Bijuu statue is going to run rampant. And Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and kakashi are going to be the ones to stop it.

I think that developing Sakura and Kakashi are going to be pretty difficult.

Yes Kakashi is very skilled and strong, he still has a way to go. Not a very long way but if its surpassing Minato... he has some time before that.

and as for Sakura surpassing Tsunade, I really don't know what to say for her. She will do her best though so that she can be of some use to her comrades and especially towards Sasuke and Naruto.
