Shin Angyo Onshi is an excellent action manga with an unusual deep story.
You can find rating and synopsis here (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=164). It’s one of my favourites! Look out for future releases by ETC. The packages contains all chapters which are currently available over IRC and direct downloads.

You can find the upload here: http://silverado.mindwerks.net/mubannerad-c.png (http://silverado.mindwerks.net)

Took it, read it. Fantastic stuff. Thank you so much. A little request if it's not too much: megaupload is mean to little countries so it's very hard to get a free spot for download.

Will you be announcing the future releases in this thread? I'm loving it.

Can't believe there's not been any discussion about Shin Angyo Onshi.

I highly recommend this seinen, if you like a good mix of comedy, drama, and action. I'll make the premise short (for now): SAO is a Korean-written/drawn manga published in Japan and it's about a champion whose kingdom was wiped out, and he's walking around attacking corrupt governments with 'phantom armies.' He's a bit of a bastard himself, though.

There are also some pretty powerful female fighters in this one, and they're all pretty doggone good-looking (just see for yourself! (http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/8909/saov05c11part2p196197wj5.png)).

But Munsu is definitely the protagonist, and he's just a fun character in my opinion. You're not ever sure what he'll do next.

If you're intrigued, you can download all the chapters by ETC here. (http://mu.devserver.org/manga/Shin%20Angyo%20Onshi/) Part of Volume 10 just came out today.

Sleeping Forest is also scanning them.

Alright, didn't know silverado had done a SAO thread over in General Shonen. I've merged the two, and it should have been in General Seinen to begin with, heh.

I really love this manga!

the draws the plot! C'mon! These guys are ammazing!

Munsu is really a strong character, you gotta love him and hate him at the same time! I read the lattest chapter yesterday, and after reading it you think: WOW! And you feel this especially because the story is very well written!

and the female characters are also well developed, of course I think everybody loves Sando, altough she is beeing controlled by Aji Tae.

the etc group has really made an excelent work translatting this, I hope that they keep up doing it.

also if you wish to know more about shin angyo onshi you should visit also www.angyooshi.com, its in french but you acn check alot of goddies there

I really hope that we can see the rest of this quicker this make want to read more and more.

BTW: In which volume does this manga goes in Japan? Anyone knows?

No, this isn't a plug for a scanlation group, but more of a thread to bring to light one of the best seinen manga out there right now. It's written and drawn by two Koreans, but made in the Japanese fashion, and actually released in Japan before Korea. In any case, it's the story of [insert copy/pasta]

"Long ago, in Jushin, special secret agents named "Angyo Onshi" wandered the country and restored the order. But now that Jushin is destroyed, only one is still wandering..."

Straight from the website, which can be found here (http://et-caetera.net/index.php?type=sao).

For more information, you can also find the wikipedia entry here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Angyo_Onshi).

Basically, this is a manga for those who like plot twists, blood, clothes that are basically belts and only belts, and a very unpredictable plot. Unlike certain other ninja-esque manga that seems quite popular around here. Seriously, if you have a day or so to waste, download some of this stuff. It's good, it's gory, it's funny, and it makes other Seinen male main characters look like dorks sometimes.

We have a Shin Angyo Onshi thread already. I'm merging this with that thread.

Volume 11 Chap 19 part 2 released yesterday. We can't be using this thread just for annoucing new releases can we? :p

So, Just wondering who do you think is Aji-Tae or what exactly is he?
Do you feel that he is human to begin with or just a demon in disguise? or he is another type of creature?
Even the doctor who appeared in Vol 2, had commented that "there are other humans as him as well".:oh

I really don't know but he seems quite weird. and why does he resembles the king? in the beginning he had dark hair and now he has white hair?

and why there isn't a new release in japan since february? I can't understand... :|

Oh bilheteira, sometimes i am confused by the characters, they look somehow similiar at times.. And the last i heard, the series is still being published in magazines (not sure how true is it).

I actually kind of read this series at least 2 times. Because of the flashbacks, I had to look back to recall who and what they were. Personally, I like how the story goes, how Won-Sul & Won Hyo deflects into the evil path...actually quite meaningful, and you can't really blame them for doing it.

So, what are your favourite scenes in this series and why? :)

Oh many, too many to think about.. tons of great action moments but also some hilarious moments (will anybody ever forget the "rabid deer" part?) I would have to reread the series again to sort out which scenes are my favorites...

Id' liked the story of "Ondal and Pyeggang". It was a sorprise to know that Ondal was a hallucination of Pyeggang. =o

The chapter 20 part 10 is out, finishing the volume 13... now Munsu want to return to Jushin, may in nexts chapter we going to see the destruction of Jushin and what happened in reality.

*breathes life back into thread*

This is one of my favorite mangas ever.

Aji Tae is hands down my favorite villain ever.

Everything, from the artwork, to the action, to the plot, to the flashbacks, are all about as high quality as you'd find in a manga/manhwa/manhua.

It's been compared to Berserk, another highly enjoyable series, and with good reason.

If you want a one-stop-shop for all of the downloads, I suggest ETC's website. (http://et-caetera.net/index.php?type=sao)

For those who read the ending, what do you think of the whole journey with Munsul?
I really love the Reflection arc, the war arc is so beautiful, and the ending is so...Anyway, what do you think Sando is actually?

I loved every part of the series, except the ending.

And I believe that Sando is as she appears to Munsu, a beautiful young girl, considering the only one who ever hinted at her being anything other than a human was Aji Tae, who isn't exactly the poster child for honesty and virtue.

I think Aji Tae's comment about her being non-human was yet another one of his attempts at messing with Munsu's mind.

Thank you so much Nami! No wonder I was confused that Classic 21 Pt. 9 is, in fact, the last chapter of SAO. The scanlation that I read when I made that post was missing about 20 pages!

Now, I'm satisfied with how the series ended. (Just imagine thinking that SAO ends at the p. 188-189 double spread!)

Same here too, the ending was ...
About Sando, I thought Munsu was blind to seeing the truth, and everyone else actually sees Sando as what she actually is, but Munsu treated her like a girl. And Aji-Tae just has this strange powers of seeing things as it is or vice versa.

@ Erik, I don't even know there was an earlier scanlation for this. :)

I personally thought it was horrible.

About Sando, I thought Munsu was blind to seeing the truth, and everyone else actually sees Sando as what she actually is, but Munsu treated her like a girl. And Aji-Tae just has this strange powers of seeing things as it is or vice versa.Well, when she was first introduced, her captor saw her as a girl/woman/beautiful weapon, but a human, nonetheless.

@ Erik, I don't even know there was an earlier scanlation for this. :)Yeah, another group released vol 17 some time ago, probably due to increasing impatience among... everyone clamoring for the ETC to finish up the series.

I told myself, "I'm not going to read anything but ETC's releases..." but I eventually caved in due to my desire of not being spoiled, on this and other forums.

What did you like about it, if you don't mind me asking...?

Had I not thought that the last page of SAO was a double-spread of…

Munsu looking at Aji Tae’s corpse

…, I too would feel that the ending was not good. I should have emphasized that my satisfaction was comparative, not absolute.

Some of the problems with the ending are…

the origin and motives of Aji Tae were still unexplained and the connection between Munsu and the noble female European fencer wasn’t further developed.

Mostly, though, it was just too abrupt. Not the worst way to end a series but not that good of a way, either.

If im not mistaken aji tae explains what he is doing in vol 14 or 15 while munsu is on that deep sleep, i dont really remember but im sure it is there. If the noble female European u are talking is the blonde one that fought sando and killed the angel looking guy, munsu was her swordsman teacher when he was visiting the country.
I still havent seen the real ending (i got the one where it ends with munsu standing dead with sando crieng on his feet), could someone please upload it for me? I wanted to get it on Etc website but the download is down.

I sill haven't finished it,so i dunno how it turns out in the end. But judging from what i've read so far,its good, just not as good as i thought it would be after the brilliant start of the series. Still its undoubtedly one of the bests out there.

Duzy
April 22, 2011, 11:41 AM
Finished it in two days reading almost non-stop.

The series is very similar to Berserk in the plot framework so I believe anyone who is a fan of one will be a fan of another. The manhwa has one advantage though. It's finished :amuse.

ashher
April 25, 2011, 11:57 AM
Ahh gotta retract my last comment. The middle portion was a little let down for me cause i wasn't exactly expecting a plot-Dependant story after the starting, but that's what this is and i just misunderstood. The manwha was great again in the last part, but if you are one of those who do not approve of the endings unless without some sort of surprise,i guess you may not like it so much. But those who value the execution more than the outcome,i think they should like it quite a lot. The ending doesn't answer everything, but i kinda like that type of finishing.

and i must say i don't think its much like berserk.

I finished it today and I must said I think it is really a great story. Sorry Scav but I put it higher than Ares.
It's not just battle, the romance part really deepens the characters. The humor was nice and the plot quite solid. In particular I loved the Deeply Rooted Tree part with how the flashback was intertwine with the current plot

I was not disappointed by the end, I'm surprised to see people finding it too rush.

My only question is

why do Munsun and other keep on saying that he killed the king with his own sword in the beginning ? It didn't appear like that at all in the flashback.

ashher
August 15, 2011, 02:01 PM
The ending is rushed, and sort of plain...that i admit, even though i liked the manhwa a lot. Still whatever happened in the end, happened in a well executed manner. Sort of like the end of FMA.
