View Full Version : Request fake spoilers

instead of them being deleted, can they instead be split off into a separate thread and archived. while some are absolute crap, others are quite good and thus stick in the memory to later be used as a false reference, it would be good to be able to check whether you're just remembering a false spoiler.

Which series are you referring to? In most cases, only extremely obvious, sourceless spoilers are deleted, and these are deleted right away. For the "big 5" shounen series, the spoilers (and discussions) are moved each week into an "old spoilers thread" that you can search through to find old fake spoilers if you want. For example, this archival thread in the Naruto section is here (http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28388).

mostly the naruto forums. for example there was a spoiler a while back referring to pein defeating naruto's mother. it was a really good fake and i accidentally referenced it in a debate, when i went back to confirm it was fake it was nowhere to be found. :(

Yeah, like I said, it should still be in the archive spoiler thread (http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28388) somewhere. Good luck searching for it though... the thread is almost 53,000 posts long! :amuse

Use the search function though within the thread. If you can remember a particular unique keyword from that fake that you could use, it'd probably help speed things up. Remember to check the latest posts first instead of the earlier posts.

It was most definitely deleted. fake spoilers from the naruto threads are always deleted. for example, if you look for this weeks fake spoilers, none are anywhere to be found.

That's not true. They were moved to the discussion thread (http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36650) after they were confirmed as fake. If you search through that thread for the word "verification" you will find them. :)
I think this works. (http://mangahelpers.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1468876&photoplog_searchinfo=1&photoplog_searchquery=verification)

sabret00the, we also enjoy good fake spoilers that's why we don't delete them but mark them as fakes. Just, like kaylee said, when they are too ridiculous and obviously more fanfics than spoilers, they get deleted. Plausible sounding fakes or very enjoyable ones (with sources! not made up ones by members) don't get deleted.
