A mysterious reiatsu (spiritual particle) explosion occurs in the center of Seireitei in Soul Society, causing it to be destroyed. At the exact same time, a major change overwhelms Kuchiki Rukia, which leaves her losing something important inside. Urahara Kisuke sends Kurosaki Ichigo to Soul Society to investigate the disturbance. Upon reaching Seireitei, Ichigo is set upon and attacked by shinigamis, once allies, who have no memory of him and Rukia. Now alone and on the run, Ichigo must find the missing Rukia and uncover the cause of the mysterious incident before it's too late.Source: ANN

I seriously hope its better than the previous movie but since Rukia is the main star I'm not expecting this movie to be good.

What are your thoughts on the movie so far based off the plot summary and clips???

SS arc all over.

Ichigo going after Rukia, trying to bring her back. she'll be like "i've accepted it, i'm ready. please, just let me go. don't come after me, Ichigo."

the SS captains and whatnot don't remember, so they'll be enemies again.

blah blah blah.

probably won't be that good, but i know i'll watch it. maybe some well animated fight scenes can save it.

Well, seems to be a promising movie, seeing how Rukia is the main star( and she's one of my favorite chars as well).

But the "Sayonara Rukia", what's its meaning? We all know that Rukia won't die or dissapear, but it has to be a more deeply meaning;

The plot doesn't seems anything "marvelous" or "awesome", but with a good character development, it's enough to me.

Well, last movie was nice.Yeah, but I dont know it could have been better,I realy enjoyed those two girls, the villains I realy did.

But in this movie, the main plot is gonna be to save Rukia, they already tried saving Rukia and did, then in the movie they tried saving some girl in the first movie then they tried saving Hitsuguya, they tried saving Lurichio, they tried savin someone else in the fillers to..and now they are saving Orihime.

Im gonna watch this movie,no doubt,I love the animation in these movies, realy great stuff, onlyl if the plot was better.

Director's Notes
今年の映画は「原点回帰」で、監督曰く「ルキアに対する一護の想い」がキーとなる部分なんだっ て。
「より一護をフューチャーした内容」らしい
一護の心情的には、SS編の続きみたいな感じだとか。
This year's film ,according to Director Abe in conjunction with Kubo Tite in the limited edition booklet sold with pre ordered tickets for the movie, is supposed to reinvoke the oldschool feel of the SS arc, and revolves around 「Rukia's hidden feelings for Ichigo and in Return」

-The recording was divided to 2 days, yesterday and today.
-The scenario is really thick.
-Kon and Renji got showtimes.
-Kon was in first day recording, Renji in second day.
-Characters that appeared are more than first and second movies, and particular characters also got their own spotlights.
-Ichigo is fighting against Ikkaku, Renji, Rukia and lots more people.
-Renji forgets about Rukia --> He also forgets that he could do Bankai and every memories about gaining bankai was lost also. Zabimaru (shikai) got it's spotlight after so long.
-The second half of the movie will based around regaining the memories.
-Those who had relation with Rukia's past are two children. (more information will definitely be a spoiler)
-The two children are pair of a boy and a girl. This is their first participation in Bleach for both of the children's seiyuus.
-Kon's last speech was quite touching and made Morita-san, "I cried a bit"
-Kubo-sensei came to the recording. He really fussed over theatrical elocution and made a lot of corrections.
-Kubo-sensei ate lunch while reading the scenario. He drew manga drafts during editing. He seemed so busy.
-Pierrot is now in the middle of production.

Oh, damn, this movie has everything to be the best one! The drama involved here seems the great too and Rukia's hidden feelings toward Ichigo, I wonder how they'll develop about it, and I'm really hoping to see romantic moments here. We do know how Ichigo and Rukia care about each other, but I got the impression that now, this relationship will be greatly improved ^^

Yes i agree..that's partly a reason why i think it was made, since the manga is in a weird spot, there's no time to flesh out their relationship, so a movie will have to do to better explain their positions...the fact that Kubo is actually supervising and working on this alongside the animation company(a far cry from the other two movies) seems to support this..

Hmmm...still not so sure but since Kubo is sort of in charge and yelling at the staff...Maybe it will be great.

Well romantic moments?I like Rukia and everything..but I wanna go for RenjixRukia,Renji knows her for a longer time, way longer time and it would be very unfair that Ichigo just gets with her,no no.Orihime will proobably end up with Ichi, cause if Rukias with Ichi,Renji wont be with Orihime,Ishida to,Sado? No.If Grimmjow turns good, yes! But I dont want Ichigo and Rukia to become a couple and all those other.

Thats true that this movie is gonna have emotions, but maybe not love.

He was not apart of the other two movies, this is his first entree in having direct influence on one of the movies..

If that's what you like as a pairing okay, but remember what is fact and what is fiction. Take note, that in the third commercial Renji who is Rukia's childhood friend cannot even remember her, whereas Ichigo is the one who has said he will never forget her. Regardless of that fact that he's known her for a substantially less amount of time then Renji. There's a distinct difference in the nature of the two relationships, it being "unfair" is not a reason for Ichigo and Rukia to not be together. Director Abe has already confirmed that the movie is going to be about their feelings for each other, take that however you wish, but take note that as this is a direct Kubo movie who has overseen the whole thing and worked on it as well, its going to be as close to canon as you can think of.

This sounds WAY too much like an SS-Arc rehash for my tastes.

Given how Kubo was involved, I would've loved to get another Gaiden or something instead. Like for Hueco Mundo--that would've been awesome. Or maybe the origins of Soul Society, back before Yamamoto was Commander, a point in history that hasn't even been mentioned in the manga.

If a story like that comes along it has involved the "Spirit King" for sure and how he appointed Yamamoto to run SS. But I see that happening in the manga in the future.

^ Well, yeah, that's true. But given the mammoth size of the cast, the thousand-year timeline, and how Kubo's directly involved with the story this time, they could've used this as an opportunity to expand on the canon story. After all, there are only so many Gaiden Kubo can do, so the series will probably end with a lot of unanswered questions. They could use this movie, and others, to fill those gaps.

According the Kubo its going back to the starting point of bleach, or more basiclly "the core definition of bleach" which is Ichigo and Rukia, this is the forefront of the series as a whole regardless of what happens of the manga.

Extremely boring and complex explanation
Infact, kubo actually said in an interview a month or so back about how he even picked out the name "Bleach" because he wanted something that was an Antonym of black(he initially wanted to name Bleach "Black" but thought it was too simple) and so he chose something that was similar to white instead, and that was Bleach which fades colors to white eventually hence the name of the movie...and since Rukia is characterized as the "White Moon" while Ichigo is the "Black Sun", you could say technically say that this movie is more of a representation of the series than the plot that's going on now in the series.

Well, after these explanation, the movie seems to be rather interesting;

But I feel like Kubo was needing to create something like this:probably this movie will have a superb plot, and the deja vu feeling will be great too: i'm sure we'll think that we'd be where the serie starts, which is a good thing ^^

new trailer for Bleach movie 3 fade to black

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X178I_w39EU
[hr]
In the beginning when the seireitei was destroyed Rukia comes in contact with Ane
Ane says, “I’ll erase your existence” to Rukia and the little brother (otouto) swings the sickle towards Rukia’s neck and carries her.

In the human world Ichigo senses something
Kon is moaning so he asks him what’s wrong and answers “I can’t solve Nee-san’s letter” (that letter similar to when she was getting taken back to SS)
Ichigo looks at the letter and says “What’s this?” “Don’t mock Nee-san’s artistic drawing” says Kon
Ichigo then says, “Who is that nee-san?” and craws inside his bed like if he didn’t know who Rukia was.
But closing his eyes, he remembers the memories about Rukia “Rukia..!”

He then hastily gets up and snatches the letter from Kon
“This drawing that is like a coach roach. There is a watermelon next to it so it must be a beetle” and he starts to decipherer the code
Rukia’s letter was “Because I have things to do I will head to Soul Society. Be back in a few days”
They immediately head to Urahara’s store but Urahara doesn’t remember Rukia. But a few days before he said a part of Seireitei was destroyed so that may have something to do with this. So he makes Ichigo and Kon head to Soul Society.

But before they go Urahara asks
"What is your relationship with you and that Rukia?"
Ichigo "That is..."
Urahara smierks
Ichigo "A precious nakama"

When Rukia woke up, she's wearing an indigo blue kimono. She's awake in small cabin in Inuzuri. There're sister and brother beside her, calling, "Rukia~!!" while jumping towards her.
Rukia, "Who are you?" Sister, "You don't remember?" Rukia felt that she must know about them. She asked their name but the sister answer they don't have. "Rukia, you promised to gave us names. In human world, kids

Rukia, you promised to give us names. In human world, kids got their names from their parents so will you tell us our name?"
Rukia looks at their face carefully and try to remember. In her Rukongai period (supposed to be with Renji but no Renji). Flashback was in the same small cabin, she remembers she was taking care of the young sister and brother.
Rukia, "Both of you still don't have names yet?"
Sister, almost crying, "We have been waiting for you to give us names, so please!"
"I have decided names for you," Rukia said, hugging them (just like a mother). Flashback until here.

"Both of you are twins from that time!" Rukia remembered, the twins are happy to hear that.
"Hurry and tell us our names!" the sister insisted but Rukia does not remember. She promised she'll remember. She asked, "What have I been doing all this time?" (Rukia doesn't remember her being a shinigami at all)

Both of them lied, "You have been sleeping, for a very long time,"
Ichigo in SS was fighting with different people (Shuuhei, Renji, Nii-sama). In Kuchiki's mansion, Ichigo to Nii-sama who's looking at Hisana's photo, "Rukia is your righteous sister, isn't she? You protected her even if it means to break the law." Then the shinigamis came and attacked him. Nii-sama told him, "Hisana was raised in Rukongai's 78th district: Inuzuri." Ichigo said thanks and leave.

In Inuzuri, Kon asked, "Is Nee-san really here?" But then he's able to confirmed it by the smell he called, "Ichigo!!" then was answered, "Aah, it's Rukia," by Ichigo. (the poster ask if Ichigo could tell Rukia by smell)

Rukia, on the top of the small cabin's roof, is looking at her childhood friends' tombs on the hill. Ichigo came, "You're allright." But Rukia does not remember him, "Who are you? I don't know you." Ichigo was shocked. He looked in so much pain, more than when all other shinigamis said pretty much the same thing to him. "It's me! Ichigo! Don't tell me you don't remember?!"

Rukia, "Kurosaki... Ichigo" She tries to remember and when she about to remember something, she collapsed while holding her head. Soon the twins came.
Ichigo, "Who are you guys?" The sister, "Shinigami! Enemy! Noooo!!" She hugged Rukia while saying that. Ichigo fought the brother for a while until after the three of them disappear.

Back in small cabin, Rukia asked the sister, "I know that person... Actually I was not sleeping all this time, right?" The sister answered, "I don't know! We came from far away place after all! We wanted to see Rukia so bad that we returned here, it took us 100 years to reach here!" Rukia, "That long.." She was about to remember something again, holding her head and painting in agony

She was about to remember something again, holding her head and painting in agony until she collapsed again. Then she was transported elsewhere by the twins.
Ichigo is sitting somewhere and looking depressed. Kon, "What's with that dispirited face?!"
Ichigo, "Tell me what to do then, Rukia, Renji, they're all the same. They don't remember me!" Kon, "You wish that at least Rukia remembers you, right?" Ichigo hit Kon.

Kon, "I misjudge you! So what if Rukia Nee-san doesn't remember you? When you're in the human world, you sensed Nee-san in danger! Even if no one else remember, you still remember her! You're still that much connected to Nee-san, you know! If you don't go then I'll go by myself!" Then he left.

From there Ichigo looks at Rukia’s letter and has a flashback
While Ichigo was reading a book Rukia is writing a letter while humming.
Ichigo “What are you doing?”
Rukia “Don’t look idiot”
Ichigo “No, I didn’t see anything”
Rukia “It’s a surprise for later”
Rukia smiles.
End of flashback

Ichigo fights once again (Hitsugaya, Ikkaku, Yumichika)
Hitsugaya was winning and was about to give the final blow but Renji comes in
“You are the enemy. You are supposed to be the enemy. But my soul is saying you aren’t the enemy. So I will listen to my soul”
Ichigo calls out “Renji!” but Renji yells at him “Don’t call me by my first name”
But despite that Ichigo continues to call him by his first name

Then comes the captains (Ukitake, Kyouraku, Soi Fong)
“We won’t accept betrayals”
Then fight. They are in trouble. Then comes Urahara with the Captain’s uniform.
Yama “Why did you come here?”
Urahara “I knew the ways to come to Soul Society but I just restrained myself”
Yoruichi comes too
Urahara “Leave this place to us and quickly go! Rukia-san is in danger”
Ichigo says “Lets go Renji!” and runs away
Then Urahara’s talk show begins

In Mayuri's lab, the twins are doing something. Rukia awakes, "What are you planning to do?" The sister, "We're going to drive away those who want to snatch you away from us."
Rukia, "Don't! Do you know how much damage you will cause?!" Sister, "Why do you protect those shinigamis? Those shinigamis have taken everything from us! Our happiness, our sadness, even Rukia..." Then ja-jajaannnngg the
Dian says:
Then ja-jajaannnngg the wall was destroyed. Ichigo, Renji and Kon was standing right behind the wall. The sister who is holding her head then hugs Rukia.
Ichigo, "Rukia! Please remember! The you who I know, as a shinigami, is not a person who could abandon her own self away!"

Sister, "Stop it! Rukia does not wish for that!"
Rukia tries to calm down the sister. The sister hugs Rukia tighter, "No Rukia, don't make that face. Please don't remember your time as a shinigami."
Rukia was shocked, "Shinigami? So I was a shinigami?" The sister went 'oh noes'. Rukia looks at Ichigo, "Shinigami, let me hear it once again, your name."

Ichigo, "It's Kurosaki Ichigo." Then there's flashback of their meeting until the execution scene. Rukia, "Ichi...go... Ichigo...!"
At the view of Rukia who almost remembers, the sister cried a tear, "Nooooo!!! I won't forgive those who want to steal Rukia away from us! We're always together! Both of us and Rukia are one."
Brother, "But if that's the case, Rukia will be gone."

But the sister doesn't listen. The brother, "I understand, all of us are always together." Then the three of them are combined into one. Rukia screams. Then Dark Rukia appears. Her voice is like a combination of the twins.
Ichigo faces Renji who said, "You do something with that woman, that's the reason you came here, right?" Then Ichigo leaves other enemies to Renji and went to Dark Rukia's side.

Dark Rukia and Ichigo fights
But Ichigo doesn’t swing his sword down and just keep getting hit
“Remember it Rukia!” he yells but Rukia stays emotionless
Ane and Otouto’s voice “Cut him! Cut him and we will erase Rukia’s memory from his inside”
Ichigo “What are you saying? Even if Rukia doesn’t remember it I do so our bond can’t be erased by anyone!”
Dark Rukia then attacks him again and just as she is about to cut Ichigo’s head off Byakuya comes in

Using his kidou he stops Dark Rukia’s move
Byakuya “If what you are saying is true I will destroy that thing”
Renji then appears too
He looks at Dark Rukia and says “Her soul is turning into a hollow. Its too late now”
“She sacrificed herself and saved me…! Blah Blah Blah Me and Rukia are connected!”
Nii-sama, "Do as you wish," then he stepped out. Dark Rukia broke free from Rikujoukourou and move towards Ichigo. Ichigo thrust his zanpakutou to her, "Now it's my turn, Rukia. Now it's my turn to give you my power."
Instantly, Rukia is going in to Ichigo's inside. Dark Rukia is turning back to Rukia.

After that is Instantly, Rukia is going in to Ichigo's inside. Dark Rukia is turning back to Rukia.
Then Nii-sama and other shinigamis are doing something, bla bla.

Then Nii-sama and other shinigamis are doing something, bla bla.
Ichigo is holding Rukia's face as if hugging her. Rukia finally obtained her true self and about to move away from Ichigo, the poster said the way she brushed Ichigo's hand from her face is moe.
Rukia, "...Ichigo...'
Ichigo, "...Yo."
Quite at far, there're the injured twins.
Rukia, "Ichigo..."
Ichigo, "You can go..."
Rukia went to their place, "You guys."
They asked, "Rukia...? Are you Rukia?" then they grip her hand. Sister, "We got what we deserved, I guess." Then enter the twin's flashback.

There's voice of, "Help! Help me Rukia!" and Rukia's running form. On top of hill, the young twins are being attacked by shinigami. Rukia kicked the shinigami and saved the twins. She told them to run. The shinigami is being possessed by a hollow.

The shinigami turned to Rukia, "That power, I want, this body is useless now." The hollow tries to possess Rukia. Rukia's neck is being strangled, then the sister stab a short sword to hollow's feet. She shouted, "Release Rukia!" The shinigami threw her and chased the twins. Flashback until here.

Urahara discovered a strange hollow that parasite on other people to make their own reiatsu stronger? It cuts other people with the sickle they have and makes the other person lose their memory. But that only worked on people with weak reiatsu and can only make them lose their memory for a short term
So he figures there must be another power in order to make this many people forget their memories.
The shingami killed Otouto and Ane and did not think the hollow that parasite on other people died so they quickly went to HM

Because Otouto and Ane were able to manipulate dimension??? Even after they entered HM they were able to take over the Hollow’s will and gain their reiatsu thinking we want to see Rukia!

End of flashback

Ane “We’re no good. Both of us even though we ended”
Rukia “You haven’t ended yet… you came back again. I was happy… I was happy”
Ane “We don’t have anyone but Rukia!”
Rukia “That’s not true. You guys aren’t alone. Someone who is precious to you… they are always right next to you”
Ane and Otouto look at each other
Rukia “I remembered both your names”
Rukia “Homari and Shizuku… because both of you shinely live by supporting each other?
Ane “Homari” Otouto “Shizuku”
Homari “It’s a good name huh Shizuku?”
Shizuku “Homari Nee-san”
They both hold each other’s hand. Before they lose their consciousness both their hands goes through Rukia. Rukia rushes and grabs their hands
“Don’t! Don’t go! You two are…”
Rukia starts to cry
“Please answer me. I beg you!”
They both don’t wake up and Rukia starts to scream out crying. She cries while calling their name.

A few days after that? (maybe) Rukia is on top of the hill, looking at the letter the twins gave her. Then Ichigo enters.
Rukia, "...Are you going home?
Ichigo, "Aah, yeah."
Rukia, "I was saved by you again."
Ichigo, "You're the one who saved me at the first place-..."
Ichigo, "Rukia... maybe both of us were already connected way before we met. Bond is bla bla bla, it doesn't have relation with memories, bla bla. Me and you, that twins also, ...and you."
The wind blows, the letter in Rukia's hand flies. Then Ichigo, "Then I'll be going first, shinigami."
Rukia, "...It's not shinigami, it's Kuchiki Rukia."

I went and saw this movie yesterday and I liked it a lot.

There summary posted is missing some important parts, namely the fight scenes.

Fight 1: Mayuri vs Kenpachi

The movie starts out with Mayuri in his lab working on something when the lights go off. He demands to know is there when he is attacked by someone who swings a staff with a red light at him. After a couple of seconds he comes to but doesn't remember anything about who he is or why he is there. He starts freaking out and when Nemu runs in to see what is wrong he gets even more freaked out. He draws his zanpaktou in it's shikai form and starts attacking his terminal. This causes the explosion which covers Seireitei in the white goo spirit particles (which expands in the form of snakes) which hardens to crystal.

Inside the lab the other scientists are still trying to calm Mayuri down while he swings randomly with his sword. He eventually hits the sword of Kenpachi who came to see what was going on. That sent Mayuri off the deep end and he started swinging his sword violently at Kenpachi, although Kenpachi is easily able to block and knock Mayuri back, When that happens Mayuri uses his bankai to attack Kenpachi. It pushes Kenpachi all the way out the lab where it gets struck by the white goo stuff. Kenpachi slices at the white goo stuff a couple of times as he falls but get stuck in it once he falls to the ground. Then we see it rapidly covering a vast amount of Seireitei as the shinigami seek shelter on higher ground.

Fight 2: Ichigo vs 7th squad and Renji

When Ichigo arrives into Soul Society he and Kon see all the crystal that had been formed. He goes searching and just as he finds Hisagi the two people who had attacked Rukia shortly after the explosion of spirit particles break out of Seireitei. They call forth part of the spirit particles (in the form of a snake again) which had seemed dormant and use it to burst out through the gate guarding Seireitei (that one that stopped Ichigo when he first tried to enter). However Ichigo, Hisagi and several members of the 7th squad are in the path of the snake. Hisagi tries to push it out of the way with Bakudou 62 Hyapporankan (the one that summons white poles) but fails to do so. As Hisagi and the fodde- I mean other shinigami dive out of the way Ichigo uses bankai and puts on his hollow mask to split the snake in half with Getsuga Tenshou.

Once they two siblings run off with Rukia (unknown to anyone else) Hisagi orders the shinigami to attack Ichigo, who they have no memory off. Ichigo easily dodges all the swings of the shinigami and bats and knocks their sword out of their hands. He he blocks several blows from Hisagi before running away into a side alley. There he hears Renji calling out Zabimaru's name and has to block Renji's attack. At this point he realises something is wrong and tries to run away further.

Just as he is about to get away Komamura jumps down infront of him and announces that he won't escape. Ichigo tries to leap over and away from him with the strength of bankai, and so in response Komamura summons his own massive bankai. Ichigo isn't able to get away from the huge sword and hand and has to use Getsuga Tenshou several times to knock it back. Komamura's bankai gets back up though and knocks Ichigo far away before crashing into the ground.

Fight 3: Ichgi versus Renji

Ichigo sneaks into the Kuchiki residence to talk to Byakuya. When he is there he is ambushed by the 6th squad and Renji attacks him in the garden as well. Ichigo uses bankai (with a cool blue power up effect that we haven't seen for a long time) to block the strikes from renji's released sword and asks Renji why he doesn't use bankai himself, to which Renji wonders why Ichigo said he had bankai. Ichigo tells him that he did it in order to save Rukia. After knocking back Renji in a style similar to how he first defeated Renji (which gives Renji a flashback) Byakuya tells Ichigo where Hisana grew up.

Later on we see Renji waking up in bed with bandages where he is confronted by Zabimaru who teases him for forgetting the fact that he is capable of activating bankai.

Fight 4: Ichigo versus Younger Brother

A fairly short one. After Ichigo catches up with Rukia the younger brother and elder sister appear before him. The younger brother uses some sort of teleportation to disappear and the reappear behind Ichigo who blocks the scythe with his zanpacktou. The younger brother then attemps to cut Ichigo using the same red glowing scythe that he used on Mayuri and Rukia as it starts to slip straight through Ichigo's sword. Ichigo however is able to dodge out of the way and then the two enemies leave with Rukia who has fallen unconscious.

Fight 5: Ichigo vs Hitsugaya and Ikkaku

What happens is that when Ichigo is moping around Rukongai after his encounter with Rukia and the other two, Kon gives him a pep talk and then Ichigo feels better. He's about to head out again when he notices the reiatsu of Hitsugaya, Ikkaku, and Yumichika standing behind him on some tall rocks.

They are surprised that Ichigo knows all of their names, and demand to know who he is. Ichigo replies that he is the Shinigami Daiko Kurosaki Ichigo. Ikkaku starts attacking Ichigo but Ichigo is able to block all his strikes easily, surprising Ikkaku. As Ikkaku isn't able to get past Ichigo's defenses Hitsugaya takes over the fight. He demands to know who Ichigo is once again and when Ichigo replies with his name Hitsugaya responds that he doesn't remember that. They trade a couple of blows before Hitsugaya knocks Ichigo into the air. Hitsugaya then uses Bakudou 63 Sajo Sabaku (the one that surround the enemy with a huge yellow chain) to bind Ichigo to a tree. He is about to hit Ichigo with his released shikai when Renji's zanpacktou comes in and stops it.

When Yamamoto and the other captains (Kyoraku, Ukitake and Soifon) arrive they order the special forces to attack Ichigo. Just as the special forces do Urahara jumps in and uses Benihime red energy attack to stop all of the special forces troops and cracks most of their swords. Soifon runs in to attack but is stopped by Yoruichi.

He tells Ichigo and Renji to go off and find Rukia, while he explains what occured to all the other captains present why they forgot Rukia and Ichigo. The cause being a hollow they found which causes people to forget their memories of a person, the two people with Rukia gained control over that hollows power. The reason why they forgot Rukia and Ichigo while not forgetting Mayuri is because keeps a backup brain in case of emergencies. Since Rukia was the one who gave Ichigo his shinigami powers initally when they forgot Rukia they forgot Ichigo as well.

Fight 6: Ichigo and Renji vs falling structures

Without having anyway to find her Ichigo and Renji resort to the apparently dangerous method of searching for spirit threads. This was the method that Ichigo used waaaay back in the early part of the series when he needed to find Chad. They found Rukia heading towards Mayuri's lab that had been caught in the explosion at the beginning of the movie.

As Ichigo and Renji run towards the lab the elder sister gets angry at how Rukia was starting to remember her being a shinigami. She sends out black/purple bolts of energy that teleport the structures that they hit, dumping them over other parts of Seireitei. As Ichigo and Renji run along a pathway a huge chunk of masonry is teleported right on top of a huge arch that was just infront of them. As the arch falls towards them Renji tells Ichigo to leave it to him and uses shikai to knock some of the parts away.

It seems like he is going to be overwhelmed and Ichigo tells Renji to watch out, to which Renji replies that he had told Ichigo to leave it to him before calling out bankai. He swats all of the falling pieces of buildings away and gets Ichigo to grab onto the snakes head before flying them towards the tower at top speed. As they approach the tower another huge piece of building appears infront of them. Ichigo activates bankai allowing them to pass through while a giant explosion destroys the masonry behind them.

Fight 7: Yamamoto, Kyoraku, Ukitake, Hitsugaya, Kenpachi, Soifon, Yoruichi, Urahara, Byakuya, Matsumoto, Ikkaku, Yumichika, Hisagi, 1st Squad VC (does anyone even know his name?) vs Big Spirit Particle Monster

When Ichigo and Renji arrive at the lab they cause Rukia to fully regain her memories about being a shinigami. This enrages the two siblings who both come together and merge with Rukia to form Dark Rukia. They attack the lab and cause an even larger explosion inside than before. The roof of the lab is covered in the white goo spirit particles which form a huge platform. The sky starts to darken and the white goo spirit particles start to coalesce into a huge monster with 5 big eyes running down it's front, several huge arms that it appears to be holding onto the sky with and multiple smaller tentacles with mouths. The mouths start belching out more of the white goo which covers more of Seireitei.

Matsumoto and Hisagi are standing nearby and witness this unable to do anything but run. As they do Hitsugaya, Ikkaku and Yumichika run up and rally them. All of the other captains and vice captains who had been there with Urahara appear a short distance away. The monster sends out a mouth to fire a huge blast of white goo with blue energy directly at them but it is stopped by Yamamoto.

He then shunpos out of his captains haori and into the air before releasing Ryuujinjakka sending forth a huge burst of flame that completely severs one of the monsters huge arms from it's body. He then gives the order to attack. All of the other shinigami shunpo in to attack the monster.

Kyoraku and Ukitake land on top of seperate but nearby buildings. They then both release their zanpacktou, Kyoraku has a cool wind blowing the dust around him thing that makes him look totally cool. They both move forward to attack the numerous snake heads that are coming towards them. Both of the slice the snake heads apart continually moving forward. A huge tentacle with a mouth appears and attacks them both. For a moment it appears as if they have both disappeared before the tentacle breaks down, sliced in about 20 different pieces.

Yoruichi and Soifon attack a different part of the monster. Soifon uses Shunko and directly attacks one of the huge tentacles, causing it to break out in a mass of bubbles before being destroyed utterly. Yoruichi and Soifon continue to move further up the monster when another large tentacle mouth catch Soifon off her guard. Yoruichi tries to make it intime but fails, and just as Soifon is swallowed into the mouth a voice calls out "Sing, Benihime" and a red blast of energy cuts the mouth in two. Yoruichi catches Soifon as she falls causing Soifon to blush.

Hitsugaya and the other with him launch their attack. Hitsugaya uses Hyorinmaru to freeze a whole heap of smaller snake like tentacles to freeze and then break apart. Matsumoto uses Haineko like a dust storm shredding all of the tentacles that enter it. It is a particular shock when Hisagi uses his shikai. It appears as though he was just going to attack it with his unreleased zanpacktou when he suddenly calls out "Reap, Kazeshini". You see a mass of speedlines in the centre of the screen (similar to how it is in this page (http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/324/18/)) and then Kazeshini spinning down before Hisagi catches him, basically how it looks like in the manga chapter, except you then see the tentacles falling behind cut up into pieces (and with probably far better animation). This was a particularly cool part of the movie for me since I wasn't expecting it at all.

However shortly after this the monster sends out even more tentacles which catches them unaware. Matsumoto, Hisagi, and Yumichika are swept off their feet while Ikkaku is knocked through a wall. It looks like the monster is just about to attack him again when he feels a familiar reiatsu. Kenpachi's reiatsu breaks through all the crystal and clears up part of the sky as it flows up. He jumps out without the eyepatch and starts slashing at the monster, even jumping up to one of the higher arms.

Urahara, Yoruichi, Soifon, Kyoraku, and Ukitake are regrouping since they are unable to break through the monster to where Ichigo is. Byakuya shows up and uses shikai to create a path that allows him to travel through to Ichigo. The other captains leave it to him and just after he leaves a large group of tentacle mouths break through the surface underneath them. They are just about to cover the captains in white goo when Hitsugaya flies in and freezes all the goo and tentacles as well.

The captains redouble their assault, Urahara deciding that he should fight seriously as well. He uses Benihime to form a shield which he is able to hide behind while one of the tentacle mouths attacks him, then while behind the shield he sends out masses of bolts of energy that shred the tentacles. Since Kubo was involved in the production of the movie I think we can take it as canon that that is Urahara's fighting style. Urahara had a much bigger part in this movie than the previous 2 and he doesn't disappoint.

Fight 8: Ichigo, Renji, and Byakuya, vs Dark Rukia and more white goo monsters

While the captains have been fighting the huge monster Renji has been using bankai to keep a bunch of flying snake like creatures at bay. Byakuya shows up infront of him and uses bankai to destroy all the remaining snake creatures.

The two siblings in control of Rukia attack Ichigo with the intent of killing him. With her scythe Dark Rukia is capable of moving at speeds that even Ichigo has some trouble with. She stabs at him with the sharp end of the scythe multiple times and swings with the main blade. Ichigo however only attempts to block her swings and not strike back. They trade several blows in this way. Eventually Dark Rukia teleports away for a few moments only to teleport back in with her scythe held at Ichigo's throat. Just as he is about to be decapitated Byakuya stops her with Bakudou 61 Rikudou Kourou.

Dark Rukia gets even darker as she tries to break out of the spell. Ichigo resolves to save her by giving her his shinigami powers the way she gave him hers. Once Dark Rukia breaks out of the spell she and Ichigo charge each other with auras swirling. Ichigo stabs her through the heart and transfers his powers to her, breaking her out of the possession and we see her shinigami uniform return, while the hollow that was possessing her is forced out and destroyed.

The big monster thing dies and the sky clears and then Rukia has her goodbye chat with the two siblings.

Overall the fight scenes are some of the best I've seen in Bleach so far. The quality of animation far exceeds most of what they usually have. The fight between the captains and the big monster is particularly cool since they all get to show off their releases. The storyline isn't too bad and while somewhat reminiscent of the soul society arc in the beginning it doesn't feel old. Ichigo is much more confident now and rather than trying to strike back at them he just blocks their attacks. The "everyone forgot" plot device is also explained reasonably well and allows for some fun things that wouldn't otherwise have been allowed.

If you are somehow 'worried' about something that other people call 'IchiRuki' it isn't all that important. Just about the only thing that he says about her is that she is an important nakama and that she changed his world. He's upset that she doesn't remember him, but he's upset that Renji doesn't remember him either. No "I love you Rukia" or anything like that.

So in summary I'd have to say it is easily my favourite of the three movies so far, and it's actually even better than the manga at the moment.

new trailer for Bleach movie 3 fade to black

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X178I_w39EU
<hr noshade size="1">

Just read that whole post and im dissapointed ichigo and rukia didnt kiss... all of that, and nothing lol . maybe their just close friends that sleep in the same room. lol

Whenever the DVD is released in Japan, Raizen. They always wait for the DVD before translating the movie. Though I can't say for certain if they're going to Sub
Naruto Shippuuden: Kizuna since they said that they would stop subbing Naruto for good this time (viz is going to start subbing Naruto and put out the eps on Crunchyroll one week after airing in Japan) and that ep 90 was going to be the last Naruto ep they were going to sub.

The movie does sound very very interesting.

Although I'd like to correct something.
Kubo Tite has been involved in all 3 movies. His level of being involved was limited though, as far as I can remember.

In the 2nd movie, he was quite involved, in fact it was because of him we got to see Hisagi pull of a kidou we've yet to see in the manga yet. (and this was far before he used it in the manga as well, since you've gotta count the movies theater release). He's been involved, it's just that this is the only real time that it's apparently obvious.

Actually it was already confirmed by an interviewer that this is far and away the one he's gotten involved in.

He has confirmed that his only interaction with the Hitsugaya movie was pulling out the tagline "execute Hitsugaya" while he has talked of sitting down working out the entire storyboard with director abe for this movie.

My guess is, the subs will probably come out in either late August or early September, because that was around the time when the subs for the second movie came out last year.
Otherwise, we would probably have to wait for the time when the DVD of that movie is released, and then someone would have to sub it.

It seems the movie's creators can't seem to comprehend that Ichigo no longer has Rukia's powers and is using his own, the power inherited from his father Isshin. Indeed, Rukia lent him her powers and consequentially save his and her life from the hollow. However, by taking in Rukia's shinigami powers, Ichigo's own power was prematurely awakened. So when Byakuya destroyed the Rukia based power within Ichigo, he had to awaken his own.

PS: I am led to believe that the reason Ichigo's shinigami powers are so unstable, is because they are premature. Imagine his powers mature -- EPIC.

ichigo has been shinigami for less than a year...off course his powers aren't mature...
imagine him matured like yama-ji after 5000 yrs...then add hollow powers on top...scary EPIC!!!

as for ichi-ruki connection it could be possible ichigo has some traces left of rukia's power even though ichigo has been using his own...or their powers connected as one awaken the other..

What I loved about this movie.
- Mayuri's reactions at the beginning. He's lost it.
- Kon bashing.
- Ichigo's talk with Byakuya.
- Ichigo's fight with Renji.
- Byakuya's flashback/Hisana.
- Ichigo/Renji meet up with Gotei 13, Urahara, and Yoruichi.
- Urahara's talk pertaining to the situation.
- Rukia becoming Dark Rukia.
- Shuuhei using Kazeshini.
- Kenpachi's badass reiatsu
- The ending
- Kon is still frozen

... This movie was pretty bad. Plot so-so, fighting mediocre. I mean compared with the other two, the first one which I didn't like all that much ranks better. And they keep pulling crap that makes no sense, and by the end of it those villains were ANNOYING AS HELL. I will give it credit for two things though.

It didn't have random mook hollows to stall for time, and subsequently this threat that everyone else had to fight to stall them from the big bad Ichigo's going to defeat actually was pretty large of a threat (Rather than said mook hollows, though two's regening menos and those awesome new menos were pretty good too).

Though having said that no Chad an Ishida, memory be damned, and Kon being in his useless body despite FINALLY having a good role was a heavy blow indeed. I'd definitely say this one ranks below the first one, and that one had a random Sue goddie (Though it also was subsequently the only one smart enough to have multiple villains for the captains to fight).

Watched it this morning. My thoughts:

The movie started out nice. Mayuri is one of my favorite characters, so seeing him go coo-coo was funny.

The great, great thing about this movie is that Kon is in it. Now, that's not because I think Kon is awesome, it's because Kon rarely appears. Ever. I'm happy for the actor who voices him. Kon gets no love. It sucked how in the end he was stuck in the ice or whatever that stuff was. It was the typical "oh-no-everyone-forgot-about-me-and-now-I'm-stuck-here" ending, but I was happy Kon freed himself. Good for him.

The "villains" were....lame? In the end, all I can say about them is that they were two stalkers in love with Rukia. At least that's the vibe I got (more from the girl). Them wanting to kill all the shinigami is laughable.

The fighting: not that great.
The few seconds Urahara fights make up for that, imo. I like the sound Benihime's attacks make. They sound like fireworks. And was that a new technique he used?

Overall, the movie felt short, and being the third one, things seemed a little overused (e.g. Zaraki and his crazy reiatsu).

Whoah...
I'm surprised people rank it below the first two. While I share the sentiment that the plot of the first felt a little more polished, inventive and maybe stylish, the quality animation in this one makes up for it imho.
In fact, the animation in this one is well above the first two, especially the second in which some scenes were barely above regular bleach episode quality.

I'm not gonna go into spoiler materials too much but I felt that the plot in this movie, while not the most inventive, was stringed up together pretty well and didn't leave any blatant hole that made my lower eyelids twitch like in the second...
The production was good; I was told that it was "basically SS arc all over again" but even with those expectations, it didn't feel like it at all. I enjoyed it very much.

The fight scenes were well done and meaningful (with a couple exceptions), as opposed to just excuses to have low-screentime character a and b make some moves. Even the explanations didn't bore me at all. Byakuya's talk with ichigo was awesome, Kenpachi bullying Mayuri was funny but what I liked above all else was that Ichigo was doing his job as the main character as opposed to the previous movies where he was just a powerless detective until the end fight where he gets powerleveled just above the bad guy.

Of course it wasn't perfect... the flashback at the end was pretty brutal and the shinigami seem to gain their ability to fly only when it's their turn to fight back. Also, Kon was pretty annoying at times and SS's "you are desperately trying to tell us that you are trying to help, so therefore you must be an enemy" attitude is still kind of impressive in a bad way, especially when you consider how fragile the discipline that holds their hierarchy together really is. I mean Renji basically went rogue on his "gut feeling from his soul". Also, maybe some of the recycled flashbacks from season1 were used a bit too much...

Have to say, pretty good movie
however, I have some ranting to do:

-Why did Ichigo and Kon remember and not anyone else?
-Why did Ichigo go Vizard at the beginning of the movie, thus causing himself a whole lot of trouble, over something that minor (he never used it again for the rest of the movie)
-Ichigo took his sweet time noticing no one remembered him or Rukia
-How/Why did Kisuke change into captain attire? It makes no sense. He's not a captain anymore. Especially considering this is a crisis.
-Where did Yoruichi come from?
-Chad?Ishida?Orihime? Why aren't they coming along?
-Byakuya's Senbonzakura wormhole. Can it really be used like that?

Toshiro for one. Ikkaku, and I'm pretty sure a few of the other captains when he started cutting down the Cthulu thing a bit a few scenes later.

Edit: Though I suppose 'big deal' is over exaggerating a bit. Being all shocked or surprised about when it happens though is more in line with what I meant.

While the animation quality was more fluid, in that it stayed practically constant throughout which is indeed an issue for the other two, frankly the style was FAR better in the first two. Ichigo looked outright off in a lot of scenes, particularly around the hair. And plot>>>>art style frankly anyway.

Add that to the action being lackluster, and frankly I'm surprised people rank it HIGHER than the other two. Though granted I'm none to fond of Rukia, so that in itself didn't exactly help it's case, and I took Chad and Ishida not even showing up and Kon being useless as personal affronts.

Yeah Ichigo's little nakama club pretty much are getting consistently ignored in the movies, which might tick someone off as often as it actually makes someone else's day... I personally don't mind too much but I can see how it can get annoying.

On the other hand, I disagree that the action being lackluster... Imho, the action in this one was actually better. The first movie had some pretty sweet scenes by the end but felt lightweight because it was off the pace of the first 80% of the film and felt like it was just thrown together so that it wouldn't be a sappy chick flick in disguise. The action in the second movie was basically just captains appearing one by one in succession to do their little cameo, some of which were completely meaningless (half of them just shoot a laser into a hollow that was conveniently immune to all damage)... Even Madarame's unreleased attacks here looked better than his bankai in the 2nd.

Finally, while it might sound shallow to judge the worth of shounen based movies mainly on animation, I'll state in my defense that I actually expect more original stuff from bleach movies than any other adaptation meant to make a quick buck off of naruto or another shounen fanbase.
That said, movies consistently get shallow plots, forgettable villains and futile attempt at cinematics because the damned thing is required to fit into feature length standard 90mins and as much as the bleach movie plots have been pleasantly surprising me, I give these movies much more slack on their plot than on their animation, which is the main reason why I watch them at all.

Let's face it, I read bleach for plot and art but I watch the movies really because I want some generic novelty, eye-candy and entertainment for an hour and a half. About a day later, I won't even remember the details of the plot but I'll still remember kenpachi making fun of mayuri just like i can't even remember what the hell happened in the first movie but still remember soifon jacking that chick's arrows and running so fast her haori hanged in mid air.

Everything aside, what's with rukia being stabbed in the chest? Along with all other material, this is what? her 5th time?

Random101
October 04, 2009, 04:02 AM
Uh, we're going to have to disagree on the action thing, because frankly I'd say the action scenes here were ultimately ALL meaningless, save the one against Rukia which was so lame that it really doesn't help the case at all (And why the crap couldn't Renji destroy the core thing earlier, that was stupid), while the said showcasings in the second one at least ultimately served a point, while the first movie had honest to god multiple VILLAINS that had to be defeated. Here the showcasings in the other fights in the climax was ultimately 'stall for time because ultimately we can't beat this thing' DESPITE how destructive even only Yamamoto's shikai can be (The second movie could at least take him out of the PICTURE, and the first at least made it so that another plan he went with was available) as opposed to actually having a goal in relation to the final baddie, and the other fights against Ichigo frankly wouldn't have happened in the first place if he hadn't been retarded with his mask (And frankly Ichigo vs. Komamura was STUPID in execution, and vs. Hitsugaya was pointless in the end, and the less said about Ikkaku the better).

While I pretty much have to agree to disagree on the previous issues, because ultimately it's opinion and that's going to be pointless to try to change either of our minds, LOLWUT on Ikkaku? He's sealed battle fight was ultimately better than Bankai? Unless you mean it worked in story wise with how he'd fight, which I entirely agree, that was not a situation in which he'd use bankai, the sealed fight served ZERO purpose, didn't accomplish anything, and ultimately gave way to a fight that was far more interesting, abet ending quickly in a WTFy way. At least his bankai use, untrue to the character as it was, ultimately HAD a purpose, and there really was no other way to go about it. I'd take a little purpose over none altogether, thank you very much.

Similarly, while I don't expect genius from the plot, that's still no excuse for the absolute crap this one was, particularly the villains. Now don't get me wrong, the other two weren't brilliant either, and the first DEFINITELY suffered from a goddie Sue, but frankly those two were BAAAAAD on every level. The plot doesn't have to be brilliant, but I'm not settling for absolute garbage just because it's difficult to fit something in a 90 minute feature movie. Particularly if the other two did a FAR better job.

Animation, again, consistency while good ultimately won't change people's preferences over style. Example: I absolutely loathe the old style DBZ art style, while my personal favorite art style is that used in Negima and the like. Others may feel the reverse. Ultimately that's opinion, hence why it's REALLY not a reliable method to judge how good a movie is. Oh it can factor in, but really it's a subjective thing.

Kravmaga
October 04, 2009, 01:21 PM
No you pretty much got what I meant actually. I did mean to commiserate at how out of character some of the cast was acting in Bleach2 but more than that, I also meant took ikkaku's fight as an example of lazy animation.
Take him in this installment, he was swinging his sword, spinning about, displaying footwork, following-up with his left hand, taking a horse stance, shifting his weight on his toes when he's about to charge; compare that to bleach2 where his bankai (which was pretty much butchered) was just him spinning it and shooting a building-destroyer beam and an explosion that conveniently lasted 5 seconds.
His appearance in both were about the same length and I feel this one was way more watchable than the previous one, a sentiment I suspect you share since you also share my distaste for DBZ style.

Conversely, we may simply disagree on the merit of having multiple villains or a compelling plot. I feel that the first movie's cast of bad guys was just as bland, forgettable and totally uncompelling as the pair of annoying kids in this movie. I can't even remember what the 2nd one was about, in fact I almost never even bother paying attention to the explanation phases at all.
Don't worry, I'm not going to preach here but I watch these just like I'd watch kungfu movies or hollywood special effects movies... I judge them by how entertaining they are or how off my brain is after it's done. Making a plot that can make a movie work isn't easy, it's pretty damn hard even if a writer has complete freedom over the settings which whoever writes bleach movie plots doesn't.

I don't know... maybe you're completely right but writing off a bleach movie villain as too bland and annoying is, as someone else put it, getting kicked out from Genghis khan's horde for being too good at murder, rape and pillage. It's almost impressive in a disturbing way...
Maybe my expectations were too low but I just don't see the trainwreck here.

I don't get what some of you people were expecting from this movie. If you're looking for something more, like the meaning of life, you're not gonna get it. It was pretty good, and they took a different approach. It wasn't the cliche "Oh look there's a villain lets kill him".

We got a decent action/drama movie, and although I agree that it could of been a bit better, ultimately it's what the Japanese population wants that matters.

Random101
October 04, 2009, 02:39 PM
Yeah, that animation really wasn't lazy. Lazy animation is the ones that are completely offmodel at a lot of points to the extent that it's noticable when watching it. You're arguing the style there dude, which is opinion, as I actually preferred that one's style. Similarly, Ichigo himself looked off this movie, so it's equally true depending how you argue it.

Similarly, bland and forgettable villains I can understand, provided their ability set is good and meshes with the ones they fight well. Literally unwatchable sueish villians who got the the point where I literally wanted to chuck my laptop out the window however is inexcusable. These villians weren't bland, the villain in movie 2 was bland. The villains in movie 1 were bland. These were freaking Sues, trying to be sympathetic, but coming out as outright horrid. And they have the gall to make them cry over their deaths? REALLY? No. Just no.

And finally, on the Ikkaku thing, the battle in this movie amounts to freaking weapon clashes. If I wanted that crap, I'd watch Ichigo vs. Zaraki, which is exactly that but considerably less dull. Because Zaraki makes it so. Frankly the bankai sequence, which while COMPLETELY out of character of him not only is more entertaining than that, actually served a purpose for the movie.

Also the Beam was Renji's Baboon canon. IIRC Ikkaku's simply had the chain weapon launch at them, which actually IS canon, to an extent. Though I'd have to rewatch it to be sure.

Er, this might be a personal opinion, Random, but I feel that you need to look up exactly what a 'Sue' or 'Stu' character is. The only possible Sue 'sector' they fall into is Sympathetic Sue, and even then, since they hardly espouse their backstories or their troubles until their deaths, that's a considerable stretch.

Random101
October 04, 2009, 03:16 PM
They're characters who, from nowhere, have a deep personal backstory with one of the main characters, despite how illogical the timeline makes it in fact, are built up to be completely sympathetic, do HORRIBLE things and are pretty much forgiven for it by the end, and their deaths deeply impact the main character despite how short a time they've been here and what things they've done. All that falls under Sue, (Though admittedly, the death bit is used less and less with the definition of late, but it's still a part of it).

Hm...well, can't say I wholly disagree, but they're hardly the most Sueish villains ever created, that's for certain.

Lazy animation takes more forms than just overuse of cheap inbetweens that look like crap. In bleach2, Ikakku spinning his bankai was give or take 15 frames of real work and they made him spin for like 10 seconds to deliver his release name. Then everyone's scene is guilty of this: large explosions that are so huge you can't see anything but that for a long period of time... Finally, this isn't really during movie fights all that much but it's also equally lazy and cheap to have a single keyframe hanging still for long seconds during the traditional anime staring contest or philosophical speech exposition... And recycled flashbacks! Ugh! It should be illegal for animated feature lengths to use it.

But if the meaning is in question I can answer to that. See you are making it sound like pointlessness in fights is something that actually drags it down regardless of the context. I'll show my colors right away, I love kungfu movies. Those guys are awesome; they do flying kicks and bend their right knee behind their left leg to block a kick when the fight itself is clearly going to be followed-up by badguy A using his hostage or pulling out a gun and delivering a pre-victory speech. 99% of those fights are stereotyped, way outside of believable territory, adherent to a tired formula and completely pointless! But they don't diminish the awesomeness of the fight itself the least bit.

I mean that's the only reason why I watch anime movies! To see well animated fights with none of that beam of light traveling for 20 seconds to reach someone 10 feet away or 2 frame cool pose confrontation during an intense verbal battle barely passable for kids animation crap. It's just like how I only watch kungfu movies to see jackie chan beating 4 people with a toilet seat while protecting a vase, not the story of how that movie's bad guy thought it'd be a clever idea to steal an expensive vase that's impossible to resell rather than the cash of the buyer 10 feet further. Come on! We're complaining about the story in an action movie! If the terrible plot won't kill you, the irony will! =P

Hm...well, can't say I wholly disagree, but they're hardly the most Sueish villains ever created, that's for certain.
Oh definitely, but they were among the most whiny I had to endure that seemed frankly focused on Rukia to a very unhealthy extent. Then again, this may be because I'm trying to repress the memory of Pain back in the Konoha arc... >>

On the Lazy animation, dude I just rewatched that scene and I am NOT seeing what you are claiming. The bankai looks exactly like it should, the characters look exactly like they would, and the spinning looks like, I don't know, it's actually spinning. None of the explosions are THAT big OR that long, and frankly even the beam from Renji's bankai is extremely thing and hardly takes up the full screen.

Further if you like pointless fight scenes that amounts to nothing then fine, that's your opinion. I like these movies to have a tad more purpose behind them than that. Particularly if they're pretty much going to showcase movesets we've seen before. The first two had that, this one while showcasing had FAR less of a purpose, and the grievous flaw of Yamamoto being there yet not contributing much. >>

And again, plot is important. I won't accept absolute garbage just because it's an action movie. That it is an action movie is why I'm capable of overlooking a mediocre or even in rarer cases subpar plot if the action is good enough. This one had the second worse anime movie plot I've seen yet (More due to a flaw of the storytelling than anything though), and the action was dull and not relevant to my interests in addition to being ultimately pointless in the long run and easily avoided in other cases if Ichigo had half a brain (then again considering recent events, he really doesn't anyway so I suppose that's actually in character... >>).

If we count all Naruto movies which are just unwatchable, than 2nd Bleach movie. That was plotless film which main point was good-animated fights.

Yeah, the brother wasn't too bad if you look soley at him, but god damn if that girl's voice didn't get grating at times.

The worst though? Naruto Movie five. The storytelling in that one was atrocious, characters figured out things they had no business figuring out (Hinata MUST have been captured, despite the fact that we sent her to look elsewhere and should have no idea where she is at this point) the villain twist was like it was trying to be surprising, but ultimately failed (And really was trying to hard to paint him as a bastard anyway, and ultimately made no sense as he had no reason to act like such a nice guy all that time, especially to the girl, at least AIZEN had an excuse on that end), characters showed up (Sakura, Hinata) that ultimately served no purpose, Sasuke was shoved into the plot haphazardly (LOL Life Jutsu, LOL) and do not get me STARTED on a team of 4, sorry, actually just two ninja utterly wasting an army on it's battleship that a small team from managed to do such considerable damage to Konoha (Granted by surprise, and Shino is Shino, but STILL). Oh, and for some reason the chick thinking it's a good idea to instead save Naruto by tipping the glider down, jumping off and hugging him to her chest, hoping that will save him from that huge a fall (Less a plot point and more a character flaw though, hence not as valid). I'd also raise contention about 'doctors' with medical techniques doing better than all purpose Medical jutsu, but given the situation was Naruto taking the wounded back to be healed as opposed to a medic with on the spot techniques to use, that actually made sense in context.

Edit: Also, and I can't believe I forgot this one, FOOLING DEATH WHEN A BYAKUGAN AND A HIGHLY TRAINED MEDIC CHECK YOU?! WTF?! How does that even work?!

I'd honestly say the third movie too, but that was less a flaw in the plot, and more a flaw in the two good characters I was supposed to sympathize with but utterly didn't care about even when they were getting killed.

You know, funnily enough, when I made that post, I was actually considering suggesting "Bonds" as that movie. Coincidence. Also, you forgot to mention the villain's ability to use all Gates and still live due to plot contrivance, key facepalmer there.

But, really, despite the problems of the villains, who were, at least, certainly above the Dark Ones from the first movie, this movie wasn't all that bad. At least it gave both Rukia and Soul Society much needed screentime, since both have been rather neglected as of late.

Well, personally, the plot wasn't really absolute garbage, but again, it's opinion. The only way to be completely objective about the movie is by never seeing anything Bleach-related beforehand, but then you'd end up being confused as hell.

Whatever team put the plot together was simply trying to do something different, and I think it was actually well executed, for the most part. This movie actually falls into the drama category more then action. There wasn't even really an antagonist in the movie, in fact, they seemed more like villainous protagonists, just trying to "protect" a loved one.

Seriously though, what were people expecting from this movie? Epic captain fights with random villains? That'd take at least 15 minutes a captain to satisfy people who want real fights. How the hell could that possibly work? Every captain got enough screen time to showcase their moves and other crap sufficiently. If you're looking for more action, re-watch the SS arc, which is supposed to be action filled, I guess?

Anyway, in conclusion, I think it was an all around good movie, with only a few shortcomings, that didn't effect, detract, or screw with the main points of the movie, and it's overall focus. If I may rate this, I give it an 8/10.
[hr]

That too, I've forgotten a lot about that movie that's surfacing again. I didn't even go INTO Naruto beating the ever loving crap out of the villain before Sasuke showed up, and then promptly yelling "Don't Attack him, he'll only get stronger!"

I... dude... how do you... WHAT?! WERE THEY THINKING AT ALL WHEN THEY WROTE THIS CRAP?!

Admittedly, letting go of my ire and prejudice at the villains and subsequently Rukia, and even Kon not doing crap and Chad and Ishida not showing up, this movie wasn't THAT bad. I'd certainly still argue that the first two rank above it, but in the case of movie one it's certainly close, as I did NOT like Senna being shoved into the plot of that one.

I'd argue them being ABOVE the dark ones though. Granted those guys were bland as hell and hardly even expanded on, but I'd take bland over annoying to the point of raeg any day. It's like two sides of the crappy spectrum. Neither is good by any means, but I'll take the lesser of two evils... >>

Kon's pep talk was very motivating. coulda swore Ginrei made a cameo. Hisagi released Kazeshini. Kon had a funnie at the end. I thought the plot was decent, DDR had a better plot. Urahara in his captain clothes, epic, I had an orgasm (jk) when I saw him like that!

well yeah I can't understand how come he was able to enter soul society, but hey it's urahara, I gues he can get ways to do it xD

but damn, the movie was amazing, awesome animation, fighting scenes, etc.

I loved byakuya arriving on his home looking for rukia and couldn't find her and then ichigo appears there. it was freaking amazing!

meh, I did not like the movie, I was annoyed by a look of things.

The plot was mostly mediocre.... there was no real goal behind it, just some kids wanting to be with rukia and a measly hollow.... There also was no mention of orihime, chad or ishida who IMHO should appear in any bleach movie. I also disliked the scenes where ichigo fought renji and hisagi. How come VC fodder can such much as budge ichigo when in bankai? The film also makes it seem as if ichigo is still using the power he got from rukia when clearly that power was destroyed and in turn ichigo awoke his own shinigami powers. I don't usually pay much attention to fillers but this one was specially inconsistent and annoying lol.

the movie was alright. i think the "second" movie had a much better plot, but the animation in this one was off the hook. the fight scenes were a lot better than what i've seen in the two previous films. what i thought was the most highlighted moment for me at least, was the quick action scenes from urahara. really was a teaser to see him fight in the movie.

yeah, the whole "bonds" thing was obviously shippuuden influenced, but what isn't. i just hope the 4th movie is based more around an actual cool, character. like byakuya or urahara or something.

everyone got to see their favorite characters fighting for the third movie in a row, hitsuguya, zaraki, byakuya, and ichigo..oh, and of courese renji. urahara popping up was kinda cool but even his fighting was lame and why was he dressed like a captain?

some decent stuff was the little fight between zaraki and mayuri at the beginning and the fight with rukia looked sweet enough.

You know how Shunsui has his "monster of shadows technique?" Well, when he was fighting that tentacle/vine thing, he went under. The vine kept going, it wasn't immediately diced up or anything. It stopped suddenly and went down. I think Shunsui used his monster of shadows and Ukitake finished the vine off.

second movie: Random guy pops up and in the end dies
third movie: Random twins pop up and dies in the end

Like what? T_T
Always the same, i really dont think there is much to it besides the animation : /
And the Gotei 13 only get abit screen time to show their skills, mostly in uber awesome aniemation --> Thats where the 2nd movie atleast did better, that it wasn't all about Ichigo.

Given of Ichigo's friends, the only ones who have actually defeated an espada, the big bads of this arc, are Ichigo himself (TWICE, though granted the second time was so stupid it might as well not count) and Rukia, Ishida isn't quite outstanding so much as getting more plot relevant screentime of late due to the fact that he just happened to 'be there' when during the fight with Ulquilorra. Particularly since Rukia's only Vice captain level tops by virtue of not having a bankai, so defeating one is already WTF.

Excellent animation in the fighting scenes, and that is all that can be said. Uninteresting antagonists and an obvious attempt to rekindle some of the genuine emotional response from when Senna disappeared falls flat on it's face.

The constant tap dancing around the nature of Ichigo and Rukia's relationship was also rather irritating.

Several parts stood out on both ends of the spectrum as awesome and ... not so awesome.

The awesomes are more overall, the animation was awesome, the impossible matchups were awesome, and the captains letting loose is likewise awesome.

The story dragged really hard, Mayuri and Urahara carried it pretty badly. The twins were cool, but I felt like they needed a little more explaining. If the two had a little more going for them, the girls annoying nature and the guys quiet nature wouldn't be so bad, but since she IS annoying and he says like 10 lines(maybe) the whole movie, they dont sell themselves to well.

It's a great movie for what it is, plastic villains stood up against impossible odds, inevitably failing, and making some chick cry over it all.

The answer is so simple...
I remember that Urahara has needed to add some "spirit exchages" because Ichigo was the only one who could (and still can) enter the gate while he is in his soul form. And every "real" shinigami (those who came from SS) can open the gate immidietly (I hope this is the right word). And Kon is a weak Mod soul. I don't see problem with that.

That was the most gawd-awful, pathetic, Bleach-demeaning, excuse to waste 90mins of precious irrecoverable time. I deserved to have watched it for free, that's the price to pay for whoever actually conceived of this washed-up, two-bit, rather sickening insult to Bleach. God, I hope it was not Kubo because then we might be heading for a lame-ass Bleach ending; maybe one where the Vaizards turn out to be a complete waste of scanlation and Yama does something stupid like shout to Ichigo for help (that would be unforgivable!).

Really, this movie...I hope the next one is better, much much better because this was just SAD! YUCK! A pair of sissy opponents, an uber-lame plot and animation that in some places made me want to stab my PC screen. No, whoever thought this up did not deliver.

Well my main dislike of the movie was the recycling of scenes from the anime. I mean, idk, perhaps they always did it for movies, but it struck me as more obvious in this movie. Also, there might have been a purpose to it(as in, deja-vu since the point of the movie is amnesia), but I still didn't really like it.

Other than that it was a decent movie given my expectations for anime movie coming from series like Bleach & Naruto.

I mean, the storyline was ok although somewhat ambiguous to start with. Like the last movie, it seems to involve random characters ending up in Hueco Mundo(only seems to happen in movies right?) for odd reasons and something happening to them to give them odd powers. I'm still not entirely sure the nature of the siblings' powers(at least the odd teleportation thing which was never characterized as Sonido, which is what hollows use). However, the explanation on memories I found was quite nice :tem

Decent movie overall although I do prefer the first two.

captain clothes or not...it is a memento of TBTP arc...what I would ask is how the hell did he even show up there...if I recall correctly his hand was rejected by the senkaimon after sending ichigo to SS, in the SS arc...I think that's a major inconsistency...on second place his new ability...then the clothes...

I actually really liked it-at least lets face it i had terrible expectations and this was way way better than the other two imo. There were snags but i have to say it was more enjoyable than a lot of the recent manga. Which is something that also holds true for the latest filler. Kt's slipping man...the filler writers are edging closer lol.

There were some plot holes. Like yh how did Urahara get through the gate-the only thing that would make sense is that they unexiled him after they found out he was innocent but we know he isnt back as 12th div captain because that would involve him fighting mayuri to the death(which i would love to see actually). I think he was basically filling in as Mayuri was incapacitated.

I wander if KT will carry over his new move into the manga. I hope so because its an ok move.

btw what the twins were using was stated to be their own transportation power which is what they wer using to shift big objects around. It wasnt sonido

that giant fight with all the captains is how shit should be handled with aizan and co non of this one on one bullcrap.
lol at how many times ss has been invaded since ichigo arrived. and at how he is usally needed to save the day even though the captains could do it themselves if they were not so stupid.

Mayuri having a backup of his brain was classic. Shunsuis eye roll at this is perfect.

Ikakku smashing through all the rocks and then getting stopped by Kenpachi was a good moment as well.

They sure made a big to-do about that new move if it's not gonna be in the manga. I mean they practically had a whole scene leading up to it and quantifying it as a badass attack, with the Dragon Hail Flower lead-in and such. It did have a very "movie" feel to it though, with all the firework sounds and explosions... and was a bit to close to a combo of his beam and blood shield moves from the manga. Tough call.

I think that the one thing that really got to me was this: When Yamamoto hears that Rukia has transfered her Shinigami powers, he mentoins how serious of a crime it is. Urahara replies that because of how much Ichigo has helped Soul Society, it is important to overlook this crime... but... Ichigo has faded from everyones memories and they have no recollection of his help... sooo... why did they all just kinda shrug and decide it was OK for Rukia and Ichigo, who they dont know who that is at all and have no reason to trust or forgive, to commit this serious crime???

Glad you liked it Mifune_Taicho. :D

One would think that Soul Society is unable to handle themselves, considering how helpless the Shinigami (especially the Captains) seem to be in every instance of danger and destruction.

captain clothes or not...it is a memento of TBTP arc...what I would ask is how the hell did he even show up there...if I recall correctly his hand was rejected by the senkaimon after sending ichigo to SS, in the SS arc...I think that's a major inconsistency...on second place his new ability...then the clothes...

To sum it up I liked this movie more than previous ones, but I can't help to not criticize it when it comes to big mistakes like these

I watched the db version, and he told Yama and co that he's always known the way to get back. Anyway, with the clothes, iirc that was the last thing he was wearing before leaving SS originally. So I'm guessing that all this time the hat/clogs get-up is due to a gigai he's been wearing all this time. Thats what I thought anyway, but it's just a movie, not part of the manga.

well I guess after Aizen, SS un-exiled Urahara, seeing how they teamed up with him in HM

Urahara was never really officially "exiled" and Tessai was never really locked up. Yoruichi saved them and prevented their powers from being sealed away (a condition of their punishments).
Now that Central 46 is dead and the Soul Society figured out that it was Aizen's fault, they let bygones be bygones.
Still this doesn't explain why Urahara is a Captain. He's supposed to be on Earth.

Since all the movies normally suck, first included, I thought this was the best. Mainly because used a plot device (lost memories) to retell the Soul Society arc. Quite ingenious, since they obviously can't develop cannon.
