Well, we know about HIM - so are YOU hungry for some goodies, too?

Well, another little delay, but here's another Naruto review for your reading pleasure! Hopefully this will help everybody get their mind off the craziness that transpired for a couple of days what with our server going all goofy like that! Sorry if that alarmed anybody, and we'll try our best to keep that from happening again here.

In the meanwhile, please enjoy and comment away when you have time. ;)

* * * Gold Knight's Ten Comments on Naruto Chapter 320: Prized Bounty! * * *

Now he's getting a little cocky...!

1. The Sweet Taste of Victory! Well, the cover was a nice transition from the last chapter in that it reminded us of how Naruto had just successfully completed the second stage of his training, but I think it was the sidetext this time that really added to it. "Did you know that after I work even harder than usual, I feel even better than usual?" Hey Naruto, your smile kinda gave it away. ;)

Anyway, you gotta admit that it's as good a message as any for all the young readers out there, and it's perfectly in character for him. He's obviously proud of himself for being able to cut the waterfall in half, and the cover does a good job in making us feel that way about his accomplishment as well. Once again, his hard work's paid off - and as the message said, the feeling of ecstasy in having done something worthwhile does certainly feel good.

Yeah, sometimes it's fun to be lazy like Shikamaru, but I'll bet you five bucks that Naruto gets more moments of intense joy than his friend ever did. (Of course, the minus side is Naruto probably gets a lot more frustrated too! But ya know the saying, no pain, no gain? The more pain, the more you gain, for sure...!)

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/6339/naruto32002ue2nr4.jpg
Yeah, I wouldn't want to search all these graves, either...!

2. The Investigation's On! So we see Asuma's team arriving on the morbid scene of the ruins of the Temple, and standing amongst all the graves of the priests and monks that the Akatsuki apparently killed. Gotta admit, I didn't realize just how many people Kakuzu and Hidan took down when they attacked. I thought that it was just Chiriku that they defeated, and then the others fled when he went down (much like the messenger that reached Tsunade). I've gotta wonder if while Hidan was busy doing his mysterious ritual to take down Chiriku, Kakuzu was similarly on a rampage all around him taking care of the rest. He certainly seemed to mean business at first, and didn't have even as much a scratch on him after the battle, either. I don't think he was just standing around waiting for Hidan to finish his chant.

Kishimoto also did a good job drawing all the ruins around them to really give that feeling of an eerie destruction and outright slaughter. Feels almost like they found themselves in the middle of a Transylvanian village recently hit by a vampire.

http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/7298/naruto32003v2bh2.jpg
Wonder if Izumo's hiding a transplanted Sharingan under all that hair... XD

3. Detectives at Work...! Let me just say that this Asuma's group could probably give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money! Seemingly within only a matter of seconds, without even really looking for evidence of any kind for hints, and only going by what the two priests told them, Izumo cracked the case with but a glimpse at his notes.

Makes me wonder just how many times Konoha has had shinobi gone missing due to bounties? Although, since Chiriku was worth 30 million, it stands to reason why they would guess so quickly at his abduction - or murder. I still wonder if he's really dead - but I suppose in a world where corpses can still carry the secrets of a ninja village - why would they want him alive except to humiliate him? He's probably dead, and that's probably why Asuma was so shaken here.

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/6018/naruto32004vx6fp7.jpg
Expect a sweatdrop when he realizes all the work that'd take...

And then we have Shikamaru, not one to be outdone when it comes to having the sharpest mind in the group, deducing correctly that the Akatsuki have gone to turn their bounty in at a station somewhere nearby.

Now, what I don't get is why they seem to have assumed so quickly that there are only five bounty stations abound. After all, isn't the Akatsuki a clandestine organization? Wouldn't they be dealing with similarly secret operatives? I mean, as we'll see later, the collector that Hidan and Kakuzu meets up with has his station in a rather odd AND hidden place. So if the Konoha shinobi know about it, why bother staying there? Maybe it's just to keep themselves hidden from the rest of the public, though.

And I suppose the collectors must occasionally do business with the Konoha ninjas too. Hmm... though I'd think it would be illegal somehow in the peaceful world Sandaime ruled in the Fire Country. They had to know that it would only encourage enemies to try to invade from other lands. Why ask for trouble?

Somewhat amusing that Asuma's team bothered to send the messenger birds off to four other teams to inform them about the stations. Don't they know that Kishimoto plans for them to be the ones to eventually confront Hidan and Kakuzu? Heh. Unless... one of the teams will get in their way first, making for quite the dramatic battle where we'll finally see Hidan and Kakuzu's abilities revealed. And then we'll see Asuma's squad stumble across the trail of blood. Uh-oh...

http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/7558/naruto32007xl6.jpg
Scared Kakashi for nothing...!

4. From Fatigue to Hunger? No wonder Kakashi was so worried, after all Naruto had fainted repeatedly the day before after absorbing his bunshins. But this time, the kid was only suffering from hunger instead of mental fatigue! Hmm, he's getting a little more like Luffy from One Piece now... well, I suppose it's progress in one sense. At least Naruto didn't fall unconscious this time.

In a way his hunger makes sense though. All these bunshins were obviously expending a massive amount of energy. I wonder if it somehow eats up the calories on the original body too when they all merge again - and that's why Naruto wants/needs to eat so much ramen...! XD

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/5581/naruto32009v3v2no6.jpg
Maybe at least Hidan won't be able to beat him lying down anyway...

5. To Worry or Not to Worry...? Heh, Kishimoto's definitely in tune with the emotions of his readers, and he's playing them like a violin. Here he has Asuma almost directly speaking to his fans, telling us not to worry so much about him. Confidently, he says that his own price tag is five million more than Chiriku's, evidently meaning he's a more formidable opponent for the Akatsuki. Not that we ever doubted his capabilities, but nevertheless, compared to all the foreshadowing that we've been getting in recent chapters (especially when Asuma left after a long look towards Kurenai's room) this scene was a HUGE relief!

Still, of course Asuma isn't out of the woods yet. We still know that Hidan and Kakuzu are probably more deadly than any enemies that Asuma has probably fought in the past (with the exception of Itachi and Kisame). But I now think that Kishimoto is obviously setting the stage up for a grand battle that will be anybody's guess as to how it will end. Which could be fun.

Personally, I *hope* Asuma's team will be the ones to defeat Hidan and Kakuzu, or at least one of them. It wouldn't be fair for Naruto and company to hog all the fun, now would it? And wouldn't be that realistic, either.

I do still think he needed that priest's prayer more than he realized at the time.

Crackhead Theory: Okay this week, my Narutard theory isn't too convoluted a theory, but involves Asuma's girlfriend once again. I think Kurenai will actually be catching up with and following Asuma's squad at some point, although not with her team tagging along. She's not the type of girl who just sits at home and worry.

http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/3445/naruto32009kakkg0.jpg
Awww.. so he did notice her! XD

6. Fan Service on the Menu! It's pretty well established that Kakashi and Ayame is a popular pairing among Narutards. We've already seen from the hilarious Episode 101 of the anime (best filler episode EVER) that Ayame was definitely hot for Kakashi (once she saw him unmasked - guess he doesn't have fish lips or buckteeth!)

That story was, of course, based on a rather funny sidestory based on Naruto's attempt to find out what Kakashi's elusive face looked like under that mask. ( In case you haven't read it, where have you been? Here and enjoy! Page 1 (http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/6130/special00101ck2.jpg), Page 2 (http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/2618/special00102so4.jpg), Page 3 (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/2933/special00103br1.jpg) and Page 4 (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4387/special00104ir8.jpg) - enjoy! )

Anyway, this is the very first time in the series where we've seen Kakashi actually showing that he does indeed notice Ayame. Sure, it's only one panel, but for a Kakashi fan like myself, it's sure a big revelation. So please forgive me for spending this one big comment on it ;)

So yeah, I'd like to see Kakashi be with somebody by the end of the series. Why should Asuma be the only one involved in any kind of romance at all? XD ( Yes, DZ, I know he's smexy, but geez. ) Anyway, I've always been kind of a Kakashi x Anko fan, and I know some people prefer Kakashi x Sakura ( you know who you are <3 ) or ... >.< ... Kakashi x Iruka ( sorry, I'm not into yaoi ;) ), but I wouldn't mind at all if he does end up with Ayame. Seems like the right kind of girl for him to get together with... and corrupt! :kukuku

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4100/naruto32013v2of3.jpg
Quite suggestive, isn't it?

7. The Ramen Shop Ruckus! I thoroughly enjoyed this scene. As you guys have already seen with the Ramen Shop sidestory, Kishimoto does have a nice twisted sense of humor, and we haven't had a chapter that had a lot of comedy in it for quite some time now. Sure, we've had funny moments, like the Gai-Kakashi piggyback moment, and the onsen scene between Sai and Naruto. But these only lasted a page or two, whereas this took up about five pages. And it was pretty funny. The moment that really cliched it for me was when Kakashi, Naruto, and Yamato were shown with different, mixed expressions watching the workers in disarray. Especially Yamato, who was thinking at the moment, "WTF?" Just had to laugh there.

I've heard some people who were disappointed over this scene and there not being any real story development. Well, I counter that with we haven't had any comedic episodes in a pretty doggone long while. Naruto is pretty much a serious-toned series for the most part, so I say this scene was much needed. It reminded me that these guys are still in a human environment, that they still deal with unexpected situations AND people, that sometimes turn out to be pretty hilarious. Hey, anybody remember when Sakura, who had just been insulted, tried to chase after Konohamaru and Naruto and threatened to beat them up? One of the funniest scenes in the manga for me. How long ago was that? Right before the Chuunin Exams! We had another funny Konohamaru moment at the start of Part 2, and since then, it's been mostly tense. So, more light moments like this was absolutely necessary.

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/420/naruto32013v3vc8rg1.jpg
Kakashi-sensei to the rescue!

Speaking of the anime, I've heard a rumor that these guys, Nishi and Matsu, seemed to have shown up in a filler episode or two before. I don't follow the fillers, so don't know if there's any truth to it yet (if you know, please verify), but if true... in that case Kishimoto may really be trying to work with the anime, which is rather interesting. I don't know how I feel about that, but hopefully he doesn't get too carried away. Probably just a nod towards the anime fans...

And yeah, either way, I'll be willing to bet that they'll turn this into another full, funny filler episode as well. However, I doubt any current watchers of the anime right now would mind another episode like 101. That one was golden.

http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/4053/naruto32014v2yr7.jpg
I'd be suspicious too...

8. Secret Places... Okay, NOBODY last week could have predicted Hidan and Kakuzu standing smack in the middle of a bathroom this chapter! NO way. Bizarre scene to say the least! Good for Kishimoto to surprise us all a little bit there. Then to find out it all lead to a morgue through a wall panel between two toilets... kinda reminded me of Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets! Except, at least, Hidan and Kakuzu didn't have to crawl down a narrow hole - just walk through a hidden passageway.

Well, I suppose at least we got our money's worth as far as at least one of the bounty stations certainly being hidden well! I just wish that Kishimoto had given us a little idea of where they are at the moment, but I guess it must be a village somewhere like the one Jiraiya and Naruto visited in order to find Tsunade.

As for the collector. Well, he's a creepy sort, isn't he? Judging by the scars on his forehead, I'd be willing to bet that he's also a hunter-nin himself, or at least formerly before he decided to take a less risky job. Hey, if there are people like the Akatsuki doing the job in much more effective ways, why not be the bondsman?

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/7397/naruto32016v2tq2.jpg
I'd be outta there myself.

9. More Banter! Hilarious thing is, when I first read the chapter, and I mean RAW format here without even having a glimpse at the translations yet - the very first thing that came to mind for me (and I'm sure many other readers) is that if there's a bathroom connected to the morgue, then the smell must be AWFUL!

And sure enough, Hidan agreed with me, and he would know, wouldn't he? He's standing right there, and wanting to get the heck out! Kakuzu doesn't know what he's missing, since he's got his nose all covered up...

The banter between these two I think is the best I've seen in the whole Naruto series. It just never ceases to amuse me.

http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9014/naruto32017v2tn0.jpg
At least he's not talking to Ayame here...

10. What Now? Yeah, this is the ultimate tease. Kakashi promising Naruto he'll show him something before the next stage of the training. I'm going to guess here that it's Yin/Yang manipulation, as Naruto had asked him about before. I think Kakashi is going to try to inspire Naruto to try some different things in order to achieve his "new" jutsu, because I don't think he can really help him figure it out exactly - although I'm sure he'll have a few ideas of what Naruto COULD do with all the jutsus he knows now.

One last thing - Kishimoto seemed to have a WHOLE lot of fun with this chapter, because it seemed like he was trying to give the fans a few scenes that could be interpreted from a pervert's perspective. Well, for the man who created Jiraiya, I guess it's not so expected, but this chapter certainly had a few saucy lines and interesting scenarios!

RATING: 4 out of 5 stars. The comedy was much needed, and I also liked that this chapter gave us insights into what Asuma's team, Naruto, and the Akatsuki all were doing at the time. Not often Kishimoto gives us all that in a single chapter. I like it when we don't focus so much on one group for a long time.

Predictions: Kakashi shows Naruto the "interesting" something.

Credits: A MAJOR thanks to des, whose MQ scanlation I not only used, but he also gave me some higher quality scans of a few panels at my request as well. Thanks also to Yoshitune and HisshouBurakien for their translations.

Hope you enjoyed, and looking forward to seeing what you think!

Me first! <3
Well, you already read my post in the Ch 321 Prediction thread, so you prety much know what I'm going to say XD.

He's obviously proud of himself for being able to cut the waterfall in half, and the cover does a good job in making us feel that way about his accomplishment as well.
After cutting a waterfall, I'd be damn happy too! XD Hopefully his joy at completing that part of the training will help him with the next stage, presumably creating his own jutsu.

Gotta admit, I didn't realize just how many people Kakuzu and Hidan took down when they attacked.I thought that it was just Chiriku that they defeated, and then the others fled when he went down (much like the messenger that reached Tsunade).
Gotta agree here. I didn't even think about how many people were killed in Hidan and kakuzu's little spree at the temple. I half expected there to be only a few casualties, mostly I guess because of the lack of fighting we saw.

Seemingly within only a matter of seconds, without even really looking for evidence of any kind for hints, and only going by what the two priests told them, Izumo cracked the case with but a glimpse at his notes.
Im just glad to see Izumo and Kotetsu XD It's nice to see some of the secondary characters get some action. I did find it a little fast, though, Izumo coming up with that information quickly. But I guess working for the Hokage all of the time and constantly having all that paperwork would be a bit beneficial and informative. He and Kotetsu probably see alot of information pass by each day, so they'd be fountains on info, I suppose.
I'd also like to see some action from Kotetsu and Izumo, especially. We never have seen them fight.

...and I know some people prefer Kakashi x Sakura ( you know who you are <3 )
Yeah, I know who I am ;) <333

I've heard some people who were disappointed over this scene and there not being any real story development. Well, I counter that with we haven't had any comedic episodes in a pretty doggone long while.
I get the feeling that pretty soon there won't be any time for any comedic stuff, so it's good that Kishimoto is giving us a little humor now.

Speaking of the anime, I've heard a rumor that these guys, Nishi and Matsu, seemed to have shown up in a filler episode or two before.

I still don't remember this episode, if it really is one :/ I remember there being one where Ayame was either sick or out of town and her father got challenged to a cook off or something and Naruto and Sakura and someone else helped him out as he tried to perfect an "Ultimate Ramen" recipie. I'll keep an eye out, though.

Okay, NOBODY last week could have predicted Hidan and Kakuzu standing smack in the middle of a bathroom this chapter! NO way.
XD Funniest location in the whole series XD What if Asuma fought them there? o.O I predict that next week, they'll meet in a pastry shop. A pink one.

As far as Kakashi's "Interesting thing," I vote for jutsus. I don't think any big secret will be revealed, nor do I think that Naruto will get a weapon (yet)

Nice comments. At first, I didn't like the Ichiraku scene, but after seeing what you and some others have said, I'm starting to gain some respect for it. Especially since the only time we've seen Ichiraku in Part 2 was the short Naruto & Iruka chat in 248.

I'm not sure about these guys, but remember the old Uchiha couple that appears in Sasuke's flashback? They first appeared in filler during Sasuke's first, and Kishimoto later used them in the manga during Sasuke's second at VotE.

great stuff as always GK. As for the bounty stations... there is 5 of them right? so does that mean that every one of the "5 Great Shinobi Countries" has one? or is my accounting hw making me crazy???? hahaha.

I'm going to guess here that it's Yin/Yang manipulation, as Naruto had asked him about before.

I agree with that
actually my first thought was that he wants to Naruto a way he can fight the sharingan,I mean they are all doing this to capture...sasuke :notrust

I think the difference between the element thing and the yin/yang manipulation is like the difference between "creo" and "muto" in Ars Magica.
With "Creo" you can create new things and with Muto you can alter things you already have(like your body or your shadow :p)
Hmm maybe its a stupid idea :notrust

The bounty stations need some explonation IMO, that I hope Kishi will do in the next chapter.

Another thing I'd like to have an explonation is the birds.
How did they get there?I think they summoned them.Or they keep flying between the groups all the time?
Its okay that a bird can find a place, like a homing pidgeon, but a person?Who is probably moving!I just want to know how they find them! :)

And if Kishi dares to do another off scean fight then I'll be very very pissed! :notrust

I bet he's shaking :)

I don't know why, but this chapter was golden to say the least. So reading your ten comments made it even better. <3

[1] Yes. Um. The cover scared me. Badly. The crap out of me, or something. XD He looks so...gay and happy. I have nothing against that, but seeing Naruto like that is weird. XD

[2] Also, from this scene, we find out jsut how much Kishimoto is skipping over. I sure as hell didn't mind the transistion from the fight to Asuma's scene, but it's quite annoying to know that, while trying to avoid a time skip, he's actually skipping alot of fight-worthy materials. >_< BLAH.

And the way you said, with Kakuzo fighting while Hidan finished his prayer, gave me a funny scene in my head. >____>;

I mean, it looks so stupid and hilarious...to see Kakuzu running around and attacking various people, while Hidan lies down stuch to the ground by a long sharp stick.

Maybe that's why Kishi didn't want to show that scene? Because it looked so silly for an Akatsuki team looking like that, and made them look less vulnerable? XD I don't know. My imagination got the better of me. XD

But yeah, back to the scene. I loved the art in here as well. And I like the comparison you did, about he vampire thing. XD

[3] For all I know and care, Asuma's team might be at an advantage over the other teams. Or maybe I'm biased. Having the smartest person in heir group, and someone who knew the deceased well (and is carried around by the people they are after), Asuma's definitely determined to bring them down.

And one thing that makes me wonder, is how they knew about Chiriku's bounty? It is the black market afterall, and it must've taken Tsunade (or her minions XD) alot of work to look for anything about things happening in the black market. But I guess it depends on which world we are in?

Ooh, but I like the idea of a team seeing Hidan and Kakuzu first, and getting killed. Then Asuma's team catching up on the bloody floors, but yeah. XD

[4] Ah. Why am I happy? Coz it's Naruto all over again! It reminds me soo much of very old chapters, where Naruto goes hungry. And yea, reminds me of Luffy as well. Not meat this time, but ramen. XD

[5] Heh. Seems like Asuma's contradicting himself. Or say, Kishimoto.

Whom should we believe? The signs, or the trust Asuma has in his strenght?

I'd rather believe in Asuma. For all we know, in Kishimoto's world, signs are usually made, but then, in the end, they fail us. SOO BEHH TO YOU, KISHI!!! *raspberries*

As for your crackhead theory (which once again, involves Kurenai), I like the idea. ^-^ I can't imagine her for something who'd worry at home and do nothing about it. But then again, we don't really know much about her. >_<

[6] BAHAHHAHAHAHA. Can you tell that I've once paired these two in my mind?

Makes me grin so much. First Asuma, now Kakashi. *grins again* And of course he'd notice her. How many times has he seen her whenever he brought Naruto to Ichiraku Ramen.

And Kakashi x Ayame/ Ayame x Iruka is decent enough for me. Me likeys. <3

I'd rather Anko for Ibiki, but that's another story, so ignore me. >_>

[7] Best. Part. Ever. XD Couldn't stop laughing. And Yamato's face made my day so much. <3 And the implication it made, cracks me up so much. XD It's scary, and goddamn funny. I don't care if we didn't get to know more about more important stuff, but we've gotta have these scenes every now and then!

Imean, finally! Kishimoto's realised that fan service is the way of life. *snickers* And funny scenes. Puh lease, Kishi. Serious moments get dragged on too much bursting my brain. Especially the last chapter. *cries*

Anyway. Next one.

[8] XDDDD I cracked up so much when I saw the toilet. XD Blehehehhe. Ewyuck, and Blehehehhe. XD

Andas for the collector...

I swear, his eyes were actually bulging out in the raw version I have. o___O;; He looks less creepy now. XD Blahha.

And it jsut hit me, but what does the collector do with the bodies anyway? You know what he looks like? Some kind of weird scientist, or perverted doctor. Take your pick. >_<

[9] Gah. I still find this the best team off the Akatsuki, followed by Tobi and Deidei. Soo much difference in both characters, that their banters are worth reading. :p

[10] Cna I say something? .____.

Kakashi's expressions scares me. What does he want to show Naruto? BLARGH! Su chan is taking over my innocent mind.

Oh good God.

Erm. Yeah. Anyway, sorry if my comments are short. I don't really have to say much. >_<

I mostly agree with your comments, especially the Kakashi x Anko pairing, I don't why but this seems right to me.
Instead I didn't like the scene at the ramen restaurant, for me it was out of place, and whent at the end Kakashi said that, I could only think this is a cheap trick Kishimoto and you wasted some pages.

I didn't say first: very good comments as always GK.

I think Kishi has been on form for the last two chapters, especially since Naruto is no longer acting like an idiot. Plus the humor in this chapter really helps to make things more realistic (with the whole powerup and the interesting thing next chapter), or otherwise things would feel too planned and organized. I personally think the interesting thing is either a new weapon (White Fang's of course) or new clothes for Naruto (No orange hopefully :smile-big), but no doubt Kishi will surprise again. I also think Asuma's chances of surviving are higher in this chapter. I also thought it was cool how Asuma showed a bit of childish like delight when mentioning his bounty. Never seen Asuma do that before. It expands his personality a bit. When I first saw Nishi, the first thing that popped into my mind was that he looked like that Hunter X Hunter character Gon. I really liked this chapter, though I wish Ayame was there because Naruto+Ayama is pretty cool (especially since Naruto's adopted grandchildren will be Hokage before anything happens on the Sakura front).

Not much to say this week (lol, one week I have a lot to say and then the next I hardly have anything!), but I'll try anyway >.<

1. I dunno about this cover. Maybe it's just me, or something was lacking from it... But Naruto's grin always makes me happy anyway.

2/3. I'd have thought the bounty thing would have been very easy to work out. In the world of shinobi, there's always the fact that there's going to be someone out there wanting your head on a plate. I have the feeling it happens a lot...

4. Reminds me of that weird thing I've seen with Naruto tied up and Itachi talking 'Poor little Naruto... all he wants is freedom and ramen. Please, think of the Narutos.' Hehe.

5. :< Yeah, sure... Asuma-san says that and then suddenly gets killed, much to the shock of the readers. I hope that doesn't happen, but it's one of those plot devices you're so used to seeing.

6. Kakashi x Ayame! That's my fav Kakashi-related pairing, yup.

7/8/9. You know, the ramen thing wasn't as funny to me as Kakuzu saying 'I'll be out soon'. Blah, I'm a sucker for toilet humour sometimes. I did enjoy Yamato's whole reactions on the situation though. And on another note, I'm starting to love that miffed facial expression from Hidan. XD

10. I hope Kakashi shows this "interesting" thing in the next chapter... if not, I'll be very grumpy >.<

The Ramen shop scene!! I've been wanting a scene with some non-ninjas for a while now, and I got one!! Now I want more...

What I really want is for Kishimoto to introduce more non-ninjas into the manga. They don't even have to have names or anything, just kind of cement the feeling that they DO exist... somewhere out there in the readers' mind. Have some nice ninja fights in the middle of a crowded city, and have the citizens panic and totally have NO CLUE what's going on because the Ninjas are so fast. I don't think Kishimoto is capitalizing enough on the fact that Ninjas are fundamentally superior to normal people! He needs to do it! He really does!

Now, if you'll excuse me for being in the dark for a minute... but who's Ayame? o.O

P.S. This "intetresting" thing that Kakashi is going to show better be interesting.

Hi, it’s me again!!! And it’s time to comment your comments GK, so beware… :sgan_ :sgan

Hopefully this will help everybody get their mind off the craziness that transpired for a couple of days what with our server going all goofy like that! Sorry if that alarmed anybody, and we'll try our best to keep that from happening again here

Well this was rather unfortunate! Didn’t wanna bug you with “what happened”, just nice to see everything back on-line!!! Now stay that way plzzzz, I really don’t like going anywhere else for my weekly dose of Naruto!!! It just isn’t the same… And if nobody told you guys this ( which I doubt!!! ) thanks for that backup page that had links to the stuff we need to survive!!! :jir_thumb

He,he,he the cover was OK! But one of the translators made a comment in his translation about the cover that ruined it for me…. (JoKe!) Nahhhh, that aside the cover was really Naruto, ‘cause we all know he’s all about working hard ( or was it working far beyond human capabilities??? Yes, this other one looks more true!!! ), but I agree it’s quite nice message to send to the younger readers… :kkbook Uhhhh, well…. :XD

Kishimoto also did a good job drawing all the ruins around them to really give that feeling of an eerie destruction and outright slaughter. Feels almost like they found themselves in the middle of a Transylvanian village recently hit by a vampire.

:woot Nice one! I was also surprised about the level of damage done to the place… Somehow it didn’t look like that earlier!!! These two do begin to look like the most reckless pair in the Aka… It’s rampage all the way with them, regardless of who is doing more destruction, them or the rival!!! Just imagining these two, 4 tailed Batboy and Oro in one place is scary!!!! Kakashi would probably have to send them to… in order to save the earth, of course!!! :kksharing

Hmmmmmmmmm… They truly are ninjas!!! And about that other thing you mentioned… It is kind of strange, but they do seem to know their way around Fire country… And about Aka, I think these two are doing this on their own, the bounty money that is… They are criminals after all!!! And I don’t think they have any clue to that they are now being hunted down!!! But they’ll know soon enough…

Uh-oh...

Ahhhh, you’re going to far!!! Wait!!! :smile-big

In a way his hunger makes sense though. All these bunshins were obviously expending a massive amount of energy. I wonder if it somehow eats up the calories on the original body too when they all merge again - and that's why Naruto wants/needs to eat so much ramen...! XD

As long as he doesn’t start eating clouds we’re fine!!!

I must say GK, I totally missed this!!! But then again I tend not to think too much when reading the chapter for the first time, and unfortunately I’ve been busy so I read it only once!!! So, even dough we don’t really know much about Asuma, it’s great to see him this confident!!!

This will probably happen, as soon as the plot starts to thicken!!! And if it happens, it would be great. I always wanted to see more Junins in action. Now let’s see what Asuma and Kurenai can do…

6. Fan Service on the Menu!

I enjoyed jokes in this chapter too!!! :XD :XD :XD It’s been a while!!!

Damn it, I hate when he does this… Will it be this or will it be that??? One thing I’m sure of, it will be something totally unexpected!!! Can’t wait!!!

Yeap, this is true… But I cant tell you how strange the chapter seemed to me when I looked at the raw… What are they doing??? Who are these guys at the Ramen shop??? Yamato isn’t really enjoying himself here, is he???

Of course, after reading the trans it made more sense!!! :sclap

Nice GK, Thanks!!! :thumbs

@ LadyHatake

Me first! <3

Yay! :glomp

Gotta agree here. I didn't even think about how many people were killed in Hidan and kakuzu's little spree at the temple. I half expected there to be only a few casualties, mostly I guess because of the lack of fighting we saw.

Yes, it looks as if Kishimoto not only didn't keep us from seeing Hidan's major jutsu, but also Kakuzu in action. Hidan was obviously busy with Chiriku, so it had to be Kakuzu who killed the rest. Whoa.

Makes total sense.

I'd also like to see some action from Kotetsu and Izumo, especially. We never have seen them fight.

Like I already said to you on MSN, I'm just hoping it won't be a "glimpse" like we had with Genma and his team when they attacked Orochimaru's cronies. That was one of the biggest disappointments of the series for me, not to get to see Genma in action after that seeming to be the case. Only thing we found out there was that his toothpick was most definitely NOT effective!

But I think Kishimoto has already teased the readers so much regarding Hidan's jutsu in particular, not to mention that Asuma and Shikamaru are clearly a focus point of this storyarc, Kishimoto is most likely going to have to show Izumo and Kotetsu in battle soon.

Yeah, I know who I am ;) <333

<3

I get the feeling that pretty soon there won't be any time for any comedic stuff, so it's good that Kishimoto is giving us a little humor now.

Yup, exactly my sentiments. I'll have to admit the humor here was probably too obvious, and somewhat forced, which makes me think Kishimoto is definitely a little rusty at doing comedy. It happens, but at least it didn't totally bomb for me.

XD

^^

Funniest location in the whole series XD What if Asuma fought them there? o.O I predict that next week, they'll meet in a pastry shop. A pink one.

Bathrooms seems to be quite recurrent in the series, tho! First we had Naruto at the beginning of the series sitting on a toilet, suffering from drinking bad milk. Then we had Shikamaru coming out of the bathroom to find Chouji who's just been dissed by Ino. Then we saw Orochimaru in a shower, having to listen to Kabuto begging for him to take him right there and then. And now the friggin' Akatsuki are carrying a dead body into one. Maybe Kishimoto just likes drawing bathrooms.

As far as Kakashi's "Interesting thing," I vote for jutsus. I don't think any big secret will be revealed, nor do I think that Naruto will get a weapon (yet)

Yeah, I saw your post about that :D You're probably right though. I do think it will be a display of a jutsu that Kakashi has learned himself, a new invention, that will give Naruto some inkling of an idea of how he might want to go about creating his own jutsu, only using wind, instead of lightning.

<3 Thanks for being the first one to make comments! :hug

@ Daniee

Nice comments. At first, I didn't like the Ichiraku scene, but after seeing what you and some others have said, I'm starting to gain some respect for it. Especially since the only time we've seen Ichiraku in Part 2 was the short Naruto & Iruka chat in 248.

Thanks :) And yeah, we haven't gone there very often at all in Part 2.

I'm not sure about these guys, but remember the old Uchiha couple that appears in Sasuke's flashback? They first appeared in filler during Sasuke's first, and Kishimoto later used them in the manga during Sasuke's second at VotE.

Yes, and I didn't know that. Interesting. I guess Kishimoto has done it before, then. :)

@ TheBolivianGuy

great stuff as always GK. As for the bounty stations... there is 5 of them right? so does that mean that every one of the "5 Great Shinobi Countries" has one? or is my accounting hw making me crazy???? hahaha.

Hmm, who knows. But the Fire Country is the biggest one of them all, so I tend to doubt that, for example, the Mist Country would have that many stations. But maybe they DO - and each one is located on the different spots on the border. Maybe we'll learn more about their locations in the next chapter once we see Asuma team talking about it. If we do...

@ The Fourth

I agree with that
actually my first thought was that he wants to Naruto a way he can fight the sharingan,I mean they are all doing this to capture...sasuke :notrust

Very good point there. Kakashi does need to train Naruto how to fight the Sharingan. I'm surprised I didn't think of that before...

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if it was something to that extent, because yin and yang is like that.

The bounty stations need some explonation IMO, that I hope Kishi will do in the next chapter.

Agreed.

Another thing I'd like to have an explonation is the birds.
How did they get there?I think they summoned them.Or they keep flying between the groups all the time?

Probably summoned. Could have been either Izumo or Kotetsu, especially as Katy already said, they both are known to work directly for Tsunade. Plus, they both seem more like messenger nins than fighting soldiers to me.

And if Kishi dares to do another off scean fight then I'll be very very pissed! :notrust

I hope that doesn't happen, but like I told LadyHatake, I don't think it will :)

@ Dragonzair

I don't know why, but this chapter was golden to say the least. So reading your ten comments made it even better. <3

:glomp

[1] Yes. Um. The cover scared me. Badly. The crap out of me, or something. XD He looks so...gay and happy. I have nothing against that, but seeing Naruto like that is weird. XD

Haha. XD Yeah, it was quite a difference from last chapter's cover, too. But having lived in Tennessee a lot and seen a lot of kids play in the river waters around here, it's a familiar sight for me to be seeing that kind of expression, so I guess I wasn't too disturbed by it or anything for that reason. I'll say the cover wasn't too special though.

>_< BLAH.

And the way you said, with Kakuzo fighting while Hidan finished his prayer, gave me a funny scene in my head. >____>;

I mean, it looks so stupid and hilarious...to see Kakuzu running around and attacking various people, while Hidan lies down stuch to the ground by a long sharp stick.

XDDDDD Yeah, it does!

XD

XD You could be right there about the Akatsuki looking somewhat silly... but mainly I think Kishimoto is just trying to save Kakuzu and Hidan for some actual battles with characters we already know well.

[3] For all I know and care, Asuma's team might be at an advantage over the other teams. Or maybe I'm biased. Having the smartest person in heir group, and someone who knew the deceased well (and is carried around by the people they are after), Asuma's definitely determined to bring them down.

True, true. Unfortunately it also means they could be the first team to encounter Hidan and Kakuzu, unless one of the others run into them out of pure coincedence. Or because the birds alarmed them, and they were just the nearest.

And one thing that makes me wonder, is how they knew about Chiriku's bounty? It is the black market afterall, and it must've taken Tsunade (or her minions XD) alot of work to look for anything about things happening in the black market. But I guess it depends on which world we are in?

Well, it's probably just like the Bingo Book... plus, whereas Konoha has nins on their list where they'd like to be assassinated or brought to authorities, I'm sure the other Countries have different Bingo Books of their own with different wanted faces. Chiriku was probably on a list of one of the other Countries, and it wouldn't be that hard to get details about who people may want, I think.

Ooh, but I like the idea of a team seeing Hidan and Kakuzu first, and getting killed. Then Asuma's team catching up on the bloody floors, but yeah. XD

We'll see if that happens ^^

[4] Ah. Why am I happy? Coz it's Naruto all over again! It reminds me soo much of very old chapters, where Naruto goes hungry. And yea, reminds me of Luffy as well. Not meat this time, but ramen. XD

Hehe. Yeah, it's nice to see Naruto kind of return back to his awkward but charming self at times.

XD

[6] BAHAHHAHAHAHA. Can you tell that I've once paired these two in my mind?

Makes me grin so much. First Asuma, now Kakashi. *grins again* And of course he'd notice her. How many times has he seen her whenever he brought Naruto to Ichiraku Ramen.

And Kakashi x Ayame/ Ayame x Iruka is decent enough for me. Me likeys. <3

I'd rather Anko for Ibiki, but that's another story, so ignore me. >_>

XD

[7] Best. Part.

*cries*

Anyway. Next one.

XD

[8] XDDDD I cracked up so much when I saw the toilet. XD Blehehehhe. Ewyuck, and Blehehehhe. XD

Andas for the collector...

I swear, his eyes were actually bulging out in the raw version I have. o___O;; He looks less creepy now. XD Blahha.

Have to admit he did seem creepier to me in the RAW format too. Hehe.

And it jsut hit me, but what does the collector do with the bodies anyway? You know what he looks like? Some kind of weird scientist, or perverted doctor. Take your pick. >_<

Probably extract all the secret ninjutsus and techniques from the bodies, much like Orochimaru.

[9] Gah. I still find this the best team off the Akatsuki, followed by Tobi and Deidei. Soo much difference in both characters, that their banters are worth reading. :p

Agreed ( and I just realized, the smell of the bathroom might have been intended to cover up the smell from the morgue. Makes sense I suppose. Wish I had thought of it before I posted my Comments, but better late than never... )

Haha. Loved them Sara ^.^

@ Luckas04

I mostly agree with your comments, especially the Kakashi x Anko pairing, I don't why but this seems right to me.
Instead I didn't like the scene at the ramen restaurant, for me it was out of place, and whent at the end Kakashi said that, I could only think this is a cheap trick Kishimoto and you wasted some pages.

I suppose I can't blame you for thinking that if you were hoping for something more. But Kishimoto did need to turn down the intensity a little bit.

@ CupofDice

I think Kishi has been on form for the last two chapters, especially since Naruto is no longer acting like an idiot. Plus the humor in this chapter really helps to make things more realistic (with the whole powerup and the interesting thing next chapter), or otherwise things would feel too planned and organized.

I agree 100%. That's a good reason for some comedy, too.

I personally think the interesting thing is either a new weapon (White Fang's of course) or new clothes for Naruto (No orange hopefully :smile-big), but no doubt Kishi will surprise again.

Probably will surprise us one way or other XD

I also think Asuma's chances of surviving are higher in this chapter. I also thought it was cool how Asuma showed a bit of childish like delight when mentioning his bounty. Never seen Asuma do that before. It expands his personality a bit.

Heh, he was pretty cool there, I have to admit. Guess he's a little more relaxed now that he's kind of feeling better about himself, maybe.

XD ... Don't let LadyHatake hear you say that.

@ Raine_Joybringer

Not much to say this week (lol, one week I have a lot to say and then the next I hardly have anything!), but I'll try anyway >.<

1. I dunno about this cover. Maybe it's just me, or something was lacking from it... But Naruto's grin always makes me happy anyway.

^^

2/3. I'd have thought the bounty thing would have been very easy to work out. In the world of shinobi, there's always the fact that there's going to be someone out there wanting your head on a plate. I have the feeling it happens a lot...

I suppose.

4. Reminds me of that weird thing I've seen with Naruto tied up and Itachi talking 'Poor little Naruto... all he wants is freedom and ramen. Please, think of the Narutos.' Hehe.

o.O That's a weird image.

5. :< Yeah, sure... Asuma-san says that and then suddenly gets killed, much to the shock of the readers. I hope that doesn't happen, but it's one of those plot devices you're so used to seeing.

Hm, I hope not. =/

6. Kakashi x Ayame! That's my fav Kakashi-related pairing, yup.

XD Well, that pairing seems like it'll get the most support from Kishimoto now, so I guess fans of that one should be happy now.

It's also kind of refreshing to see Kakashi - somebody who's obviously so elite - take a fondness for somebody who isn't even a ninja at all. Again, realistic for sure. And I think it's more like his personality than any other pairing, even Anko, I have to admit.

XD

That scene was pretty funny too ^^ And yeah XD And I'm also liking it more when Kakuzu turns that menancing gaze the other way ( it's almost like rolling his eyes, except he does it sideways XD )

10. I hope Kakashi shows this "interesting" thing in the next chapter... if not, I'll be very grumpy >.<

Yeah, me too >.<

@ Shinwei

I'm totally with you here Shinwei.

Now, if you'll excuse me for being in the dark for a minute... but who's Ayame? o.O

The girl who works at the Ramen Shop. Actually, this is the first time her name has ever been mentioned in the series, now that I think about it o.O But she did appear in that sidestory ( read the pages I linked to for that sidestory ).

P.S. This "intetresting" thing that Kakashi is going to show better be interesting.

Anything regarding Kakashi has to be interesting. He certainly wasn't lying when he said that he had developed an interesting jutsu the last time. It turned out to be his own version of the Mangekyou Sharingan! Which to this day people are STILL talking about.

@ yeste

Hi, it’s me again!!! And it’s time to comment your comments GK, so beware… :sgan_ :sgan

Noes!!! XD Just kidding, thanks for dropping by.

Well this was rather unfortunate! Didn’t wanna bug you with “what happened”, just nice to see everything back on-line!!! Well, WWW talked about it a bit in the "Downtime" thread in the News forum. If you want to learn more, go there. Though I knew some of it already from NJT, most of it was news even to me what all was going on. I'm just glad that some of the problems was an accident, because it sure seemed kind of bizarre and I would have hated for it to be a recurrent thing.

He,he,he the cover was OK! But one of the translators made a comment in his translation about the cover that ruined it for me…. (JoKe!) Yeah - just imagine a World War where all the soldiers have these powers. Whew. And it's something Konohagakure has gone thru before, three times. Who needs nuclear weapons?

Hmmmmmmmmm… They truly are ninjas!!! And about that other thing you mentioned… It is kind of strange, but they do seem to know their way around Fire country… And about Aka, I think these two are doing this on their own, the bounty money that is… They are criminals after all!!! Good point... it's actually more or less Kakuzu's ballgame, this whole bounty hunting thing, but he's also doing it for the Akatsuki's finances. But good point. I suppose the collector wouldn't be too deep in with the Akatsuki in that case.

Ahhhh, you’re going to far!!! Wait!!! :smile-big

Whoops! *Turns the crystal ball backwards* Sorry about that :rolleyes

To be honest, we've seen more from Asuma and Kurenai already than most of the other jounins, what with their previous battle with Itachi and Kisame. I'm still hopeful that we'll see more from the others sometimes after this. But still good to see Kishimoto concentrating on other characters for a change.

I enjoyed jokes in this chapter too!!! :XD :XD :XD It’s been a while!!!

Yes it has!

XD Yeah, the translation did help a lot with this chapter. This reminds me that it's not always a good idea to read the RAW without the translation ( which I didn't have one at the time. )

Thanks all for commenting! :) Will be trying to put up a Bleach 240 Comments tomorrow morning, in case anybody is interested in that manga as well.

Very nice comments again, GK <3

One thing I have to say though, you seem to be under the impression that Hidan sacrifices himself for his jutsu while Kakuzu fights any attackers off? I thought that Hidan sacrificed himself afterwards as part of his prayer ritual? Otherwise, once the prayer ritual is completed, wouldn't the opponent die then, instead of during the ritual? Kakuzu always complained that the prayer ritual takes forever. However, that might also fit in with the "My attack speed is the slowest in Akatsuki" hint. But that was probably referring to the fact that Hidan seems to be the only weapon user apart from the lightning-fast one-handed juggernaut of Kisame. In any sense, it appears that Hidan does the ritual afterwards, since Yugito was already up on the wall with a pole through her hands (ouch.)

Or maybe I'm just reading it wrong, in which case, ignore =D

And Asuma having a bigger bounty than Chiriku? Kakuzu is going to make a "cha-ching" sfx and pass out. There's no way Asuma is going to be able to escape if Kakuzu wants the money. I mean, they destroyed a temple just to get to Chiriku, so Asuma has no chance of evasion if Kakuzu ever catches sight of that 12 Guardians sash... Do or die, Asuma ;_; At least he has Shikamaru's mind and two special jounins with him.

And the interesting thing: Kakashi is going to Raikiri the incompetent ramen assistants. LIGHTNING EDGE~!!!

Kakuzu is going to make a "cha-ching" sfx and pass out.

mwahhahaha that was good :smile-big

and about the way the 2 aka members fight:
I think that Kakuzu is holding the enemies back till Hidan activates his jutsu and I think that jutsu is the one that killed so many monks
but this is just a random thought of mine :)

it could easily be. But since we saw chiriku in that same state as Yuugito we can say that at least that jutsu is used for the strongest opponent. Which may also mean that kakuzu is the one that killed most of the monks.

That was my impression too at first. but then after reading the comments and seeing how every one seemed to agree with gold Night that it is part of a fighting jutsu, I started to doubt whether he impales himself as part of a "closing prayer" or not. But that was what I thought at first and at that time it was the only and most logical explanatioin.

Just so people know, Naruto 321 Comments will probably be posted sometimes on Monday, not the weekend. The reason is I'm waiting for the HQ Raw now so that I can add some nice quality images (which probably will be cleaned and typeset by des, who's my assistant now on that ^^ ). Not to mention I'm on my break, anyway. Hope people won't mind.

Will be doing Bleach 241 Comments as well and possibly an OP review too. These ones might appear earlier, as I'm not too concerned about adding high quality images on these (yet). We'll see.
