University is not college. That's all I have to say. One is more hands-on, and prepares you for the workfield (college) or in other words "Application". For university, "You have to think".

Let me rephrase myself: University is not college. Both are good. But University leaps beyond college in terms of difficulty.

In Highschool you take university/college type of courses. Its the transition from highschool to university that hurts the most.
It is said that first year of University is hard, due to the fact that the transition from Highschool to University is not necessarily easy.

However, in terms of the materials you cover. It certainly get harder each year.

Shorter time frame.
Mid-terms ranging from 30-40 percent happening in your first 3 weeks class.
Work is over-load and assignment always coming in your way
50 percent finals.

Statistically speaking.
With your current study habits now. Just say you have a 70 percent average in highschool. Subtract that 70 percent by 25. You fail.

In some programs you need an average of 60 percent, or you will be placed under academic probation. If grades are not improved then, you will be kicked out.

Talk about the pressure.
You don't know university till you experience it.

It's hard for me because I have to get my 11.0 gpa (out of 13) or A (90 percent)

I'm not in high school though, I'm in CEGEP. CEGEP is the intermediate level between high school and University. It operates like University(15 week semesters, irregular schedules etc.), but with a lesser course load. To compensate for easier classes, they just give you more -_-; I mean, in University, it's uncommon you get 7 course semesters, but we do >.>

Also, most of our teachers also teach at University so sometimes, if they don't want to break their heads, they'll just teach in a similar style they do at Uni(i.e. blah blah blah and correct papers).

As for course work, I had a 75% final once in one of my classes and some of my classes are quite hands on(think it was Calculus 3 not sure). Also, my biology class pertains one lecture per week and everything we have to learn,w e learn in the lab. The teacher won't tell me what the appendix does, I have to find it, see it and understand it >_>

It's not University level, but it's not a walk in the park. CEGEP's aim is to make taht transition most of the world faceplants on easier.
