Opinion: the new Op made me go :blink, specially what they did with Unohana. The episode was a lot of talking but was worth it because we get to see a little of Yamaji's shikai. The new ending was pretty good, have a little spoilers though.

I definitely didn't like neither the OP nor the ED and this is a huge dissapointment for me, these are the exact types which I just skip when watching anime. This music doesn't fit Bleach (such songs are too bad even for Japan), it has nothing in it at all. And imo what is happening in the OP is stupid.
But the episode was cool though stretched as hell. The sickest thing is the way they'd animated Aizen's face before Yama's attack.

Yama's move was niiiice :)
But I find the Ulquiorra/Orihime part was way too long, though I liked her flashback :notrust

Seems like an another good episode. As for the new opening and ending, I like the opening song more than the ending. I liked the ending animation more than the [ending] song. For me it did not seem to fit, as compared to previous one or the intro one.
I suppose the ending song will grow on me, the more I watch it. I liked both animations though.

good episode.
Aizen's badassery never fails to entertain.
new opening was decent. better than some we've had.
and i like it when they sexy-up the female characters. :)
although i don't find Rangiku attractive like everyone else seems to. just not a giant boobs kind of guy. and i prefer dark hair.
Rukia, Nemu, and even Unohana were looking good. :p
Yoruichi and Soi Fon, unfortunately, weren't particularly appealing in their little glimpses, but they're still my favorite ladies.

Anyway, no one is mentioning anything bad about the ending song, was it only me that thought it seemed kind of out place or not fitting?

Amazing episode! One of the best I've seen in a while~
I liked the endings visuals (song was okay), it showed the Fraccion and their releases behind them, (except Lilinette of course), I thought that was pretty cool.
I liked the opening too mainly because it's very unique. It basically brings us back to how the original opening was, with the twisted and flashy colors, and the scenes of the characters. etc etc.
Of course, as expected my favorite opening is still number 6. But this ones very unique, and I think as much as people don't think it "fits" Bleach, it seems to me that they've forgotten exactly how the first opening was =D
EDIT:
Oooh, yeah, I almost forgot.

The OP was alright; the song was good but there was no need for them to be dancing around like that. It should have shown Aizen and his Espada rather then Orihime and them dancing. Other than that, it was alright. And the ED was, again, alright, at least it had the Fraccion (rofl Charlotte).
The actual episode was alright as well. It was better than Shippuden but not quite up to par with the recent Bleach episodes. But then again, this episode mainly served to set up the ensueing battles so it's alright. And as amazing as it may seem, that actually was 2 whole chapters. But still, next week is when the real fighting begins, so I'll be looking forward for that.
Overall, the episode gets maybe an 8/10. Maybe a 7.

As much as I like all the women doing sexy poses, I can't get the image of Mayuri holding his sword out like a penis out of my head. He's sticking his tongue out, too. Yeh.....that's not weird at all. But it is Mayuri, so.....
Anyway, I actually like the opening. Song isn't anything special, but the video's great. Also it looks like a conitnuation of the previous opening.

um isn't that fake karakura, so why is a plus there? and in the anime the hat guy comes, but how did the hollows die in the manga, and in the anime why didn't the hat guy konso her?

Opening was GAWD Awful.
My brother txt me "AAAAAH, MY EYES" and then told me to youtube the intro.\
So i did, and I shared his sentiment.
My advice, just keep on updating asterisk with new characters and new scenes. Screw this new style.
I mean COME ON! This is the most badass arc in bleach and no battle scenes in the opening??????
Instead we get rukia and Orihime dancing...
what...the...fuck...?

I liked the scenes they added in for the anime. They seem canon (I.E., written by Kubo), too. Nice.
I like the new opening song a lot (probably one of my favorites in the anime so far), but the video to go with it is a bit underwhelming. Orihime and Rukia dancing was hot (and I wouldn't take that part out for the world), but I'm just not a fan of random image flashes and bits of animation that have no relevance to anything. Oh well.
Animation was solid in this episode, except for the part where Ichigo was attacked by Rudobone's minions. I felt that was very poorly carried out; some more complex animation of Ichigo defending himself from all sides as fast as he could would have been very entertaining. Other than that, it was great.

Finally realise what went on with those hollows back then; I knew it probably had something to do with spirit levels, but from a town away? That's nice; although the fact that the girl didn't die, nor the shinigami (even though just Kenpachi made Ichigo sweat back then) was kinda strange; but meh.
The episode was okay.
I would of liked Ichigo to head to the tower crashing through a huge onslaught of hollows. Even though HM is supposedly filled with hollows, there really doesn't seem to be many of them at all. I remember an OAV I think it was that was pretty nice with Ichigo fighting this mass horde of hollows; nice animations there. Wish they would do the same for the actual Anime.
The Rudobone scene was nice with the walls of minions...but the animation didn't go so well.

New intro, yeah, but it doesnt compare to the last one,Orihime was mad sexy in it,Kubo should stop teasing us with Orihime and other Bleach hotties. And Kubo does everything to make the episode longer, well its better then some stupid filler (Karakura RIZER!!!).Ulq sure talk's alot,I think the guy is deeply in love with Orihime. To bad he wont get the chance to confess. The amount of fighting that is coming is awesome!Kubo still is gonna put a filler or two in the future.

I like the song, but it gets really old after a while. Besides, are you judging the actualy song itself, or just the animation. Because those are two completely different things; this song is really good, and the clips are alright.

J-Rock chicks > Long hair Emos.
I don't care what you think Mayuri is doing, he's got a sword in his hand, and he's a monster. Whatever goes through your mind is your own business, but in no way is Mayuri trying to deliver a message to you >.>
And yes, Tonight Tonight Tonight was... terrible.
As "bad" as this opening may seem to people, it's only "different". You're not use to it because the last... 4 have been bad ass with fight scenes and such. So? They wanted to change things up a bit.
Rangiku, Orihime and Rukia were hot hot hot in the opening. And those scenes of the Captains and Vice Captains were really artistic. Some of the sexy poses the ladies were in was worth it... I'm also starting to get into the song a bit =P
The scene with Unohana with her coat half off should make up for your fantasies about Mayuri anyways ;)
EDIT:
The scene at the beginning with that Shinigami was different. Some minor things were changed during the Rudobone VS Ichigo deal, and a bit of extra dialogue was put in for both Rudobone and Ulquiorra.

Thank you, it was pretty bad, compared to the others. I do have it on my iPod, but that's only because it's the only anime song that I can sing along too.:p (except What's Up People?, but I can't really sing that in public:D)

Yeah, they were pretty hot. And the Captains and Leitenants were kick-ass: especially Shuhei, Yamamato, Chojiro, and Kira (among most of the others). And like all songs, you're gonna get used to it after a while; when I first watched Death Note's 2nd OP, I was like "what the hell was that?", but it turned into my most favorite song ever like 30 minutes later:tem.
The scene with Unohana with her coat half off should make up for your fantasies about Mayuri anyways ;)

The little filler it had was blended in nicely though =P
The animation in the episode was the most impressive. When Genryuusai released, and shot that blast of flames I pissed my pants. I've been dying to see that animated for a long time, and It was executed so well =D
Heh heh yeah, things stick to ya after a while. Alones wasn't my thing when I first heard it, now it's my favorite Bleach opening =D
And yeah, Hinamori was really hot O.O I was like, "Whoa it's Momo!"
I'm starting to like the ending song too. =P
I just had to get back into Sambomaster, I use to listen to them a lot.
What's up people? is a good song. =D

like a lot this episode and I don't really get bothered with the songs.
I also like more the opening than the closing one but wonder if this has to do also with the different "mood" I am when they come, for instance I am all excited to watch for the new episode, hence I like the song & I am all disappointed that the episode is finished and thus I "hate" the song. :D
Anyway I think that the drawing was amazing done really well and so the "animation pace" it had.
Flashbacks were good, not too long, guess by now we know they are a "needed evil" to stretch the episodes to 20+ minutes.

Lol, its not affirmation of heterosexuality, its affirmation that this op sucks ass.
I dont even care about that part THAT much. Its just with a shounen anime, you come to expect fast paced actions sequences in the op.
To be honest, you dont even need them (look at asterisk), but what you dont expect is to see orihime and rukia holing hands, shaking their heads, posing, and dancing.
To me its not very bleach. If you like it, good for you, but i dont, so we can just leave it at that.

The opening was...interesting. I wasn't fond of some of the poses of the characters. Unohana's pose was so out of her established character, which was my probably my biggest complaint. (Curse you, animators, and your continuous efforts to add sex appeal to everything even when it is very much out of place! :shakefist) Also, who was the character posing before Ukitake? Was that supposed to be Hanatarou?
The filler at the beginning did flow well with the canon material like others suggested, but I can't help but wonder why that shinigami didn't perform a soul burial instead of telling that little girl to just run off. :?bunny
The main part of the episode was very well-animated and interesting though. Seeing Yamamoto spring into action was as nice as I thought it would be. The animation during the ending showing the fraccion was also lovely, and I find the designs of fraccion as animated much more appealing than I originally thought just seeing them in the manga like Avirama's design for example.

No, Mayuri already has beat him to that, but Kenpachi would probably be made to reach inside his pants with both hands. :notrust
I see this happening in other anime too (like Naruto's more sexually driven OP and ED of late), but I wonder if in the case of Bleach, that the animators are just trying to showcase the tone Kubo himself uses. The last few chapter covers have been provocative poses of Matsumoto (and other female characters). Ichigo, Orihime, and Ulquiorra all end up practically nude or in states of rather obvious undress.
In this respect, this opening is sadly matching what Kubo himself might do. (Perverts :sbunny)

Very very true. Well that at least explains it for bleach. But what about naruto?
If anything, naruto has all but lost its sexuality (with the death of the jman of course).

Well, Naruto's a totally different topic, but I think your idea for the reason is the likely one. In short, sex sells. This is the driving priniciple behind a lot of media going beyond just many of the current anime/manga. Bleach, however, is rather notorious for its sexual exploitations; so, to some degree, I suppose we can't complain too much about the OP, but some things just shouldn't increased in the sexy department and IMO Unohana is one of those.
She is called "Captain Mom" and "Mama-taichou" for a reason. She has a wholesome image, and she doesn't go around lying back with her haori at her waist in provocative poses on the ground.:oh

good episode. i didn't expect them to get this far in the anime, but i'm looking forward to the VC battles against the Fraccions. the OP and ED weren't the best, but i think there suited for upcoming filler episodes, because they are way too close to the manga.
p.s., one thing i did like about the ED, the fraccions and they even included "allon". how cool is that.

Oh, really? That is awfully strange placement for Hinamori, as majority of the other SS characters are ordered in terms of their division (although it also would have been odd placement for Hanatarou). She really looks like a boy to me in that picture. :XD

You're right. I just re-watched the opening, and I could clearly see her little hair-bun-cloth thingy in the background. She is out of sequence though. It goes from Isane of 4th division to Byakuya of the 6th division.
Having at the end when everyone else is so relatively in sequence is a bit of a shocker and likely why I didn't recognize her earlier, because when I first saw her, I was thinking that she had to either be in the 12th or 13th division, but she didn't look like anyone I recognized from either of those divisions.:tem

I don't find it all that provocative, really. So it's kind of a sexy pose, sure. She's not showing any skin, she has a mildly beckoning expression at most that just kind of says "I have a sex drive" (unlike Nemu's, for instance, which has a more clearly stated "come hither now" tone). A little spark of sexiness doesn't have to imply anything more than what it is, doesn't have to mean you're in "want sex" mode. Sexy and wholesome aren't mutually exclusive. Our sex drive is a natural part of us, and showing that side of you in any way whatsoever (Unohana's way being a very mild-mannered one in the picture) doesn't have to mean you've crossed some kind of threshold from wholesome. Besides, Mom wouldn't be Mom if she didn't have a sex drive in the first place, right? :p She still wants to look pretty and be appealing.
To me, Unohana's pose there is successfully wholesome and sexy. That she's "Mom" makes it all the more appropriate, as it has a similar air to it to that of a mother and father having a sweet, passionate kiss in front of their children, which is actually a healthy thing for them to see sometimes.
Also, don't forget the swimsuit Unohana wore in the splash color page of the Bleach ladies wearing bikinis on the beach. ;) That was certainly more provocative than this, if you ask me.

But Unohana was pretty far in the back right?...and there's someone who was topless in that picture...:D....who was it?
The opening of anime doesn't usually convey the stories....so it's just a bunch of images trying to attract people to read the credits...I personally think they shouldn't have any OP at all...:D

Nanao (figures), all the way in the background standing in the water, with her back to the viewer.
