FM, you gotta watch the movies as a separate entity from the books. I like the books just as much as I like the movies, despite what the movies did to the story. The 4 one did seem a bit disjointed, merely going through a series of events rather than telling the story (it seemed to me like the director had a checklist of what scenes he wanted and then edited the film checking them off) but the last few films have been rather good. They're not great, but they're better than what the could've been. I'm looking forward to the last few. This coming from a guy who refused to read a kids book in high school and then in college read through them cause he got addicted... What didn't you like with the last few?

well the first dumbledore went ahead and died on us... but daniel wasn't a bad choice considering they picked him as a kid...he did the best he could, but he grew up to be a shitty actor...most of them did. Ron does the best out of three, but most of the casting has been rather good.

Well yeah they're doing an adequate job I don't refute that. They just haven't done so well a job as to really pick my interest as much as other movies had.

Never read eragon but I saw one scene of the movie, puked out some milk laughing at how horribly stupid it was and never finished or cared ot watch it again. (the part where the baby dragon flies into the sky and then comes down full grown and capable of speaking fluent english....) but when it comes to book movies, I prefer reading first and then watching the movie. That or if I hear a movie is coming out based on a book, I'll read the book to see if the movie might be good (I am legend....book was amazing, movie changed too much but it wasn't a bad movie...the one scene in the book that got to me, the movie did it better...almost). On rare occasions, I watch a movie and think, "if this is based on a book, I want to read it..." then it turns out there is a book so I read it.

speaking of book movies: never saw the da vinci code, but the book was addicting. Angels and demons, in my mind, read like a movie, so I saw the movie last week, and it was good. Not OMFG THAT WAS AWESOME GOOD! but entertaining nonetheless.

As for books from movies, I tend to read the book first, but sometiems I don't have the time and my friends invite me to the movies so I figure I can read it after. Sometimes as you say, watching a movie gives you the want to read a certain book.

I've read the Da Vinci Code, but not Angels & Demons and I've watched both movies as well. Entertaining movies both.

if you liked DVC, you'll really like A&D. Like I said, when I read it, I kept thinking that it would make a great movie. The movie got the essence of it, but the book has a lot of really good stuff they left out...might not be as good now that you know what's gonna happen though.

It's a pretty old PS2 game.

The whole game consists of killing 16 Colossus. Nothing else...

There's no creeps, and no real leveling process(other than stamina increases). It's just you, and a horse trying to kill 16 giants.

The cool thing is the story, the music and the gameplay. Each of the 16 bosses offers a unique gameplay on itself on how to defeat them(since yo have to hit their blind spots which vary) and sometimes it takes a while to guess how it works.

I remember one boss his blind spot was on the palm of his hand so you had to knock his weapon out of his hand then stab him >.>

Shadow of the Colossus is a PS2 game. Kind of similar to the Prince of Persia series but way shit. Someone should play Silent Hill, be;lieve me you will get shit scared. There is no light in the game,you walk around with a torchlight and it's preety scary when things jump out of nowhere.

Hey, who says Harry Potter sucks? The 5th movie sucks but all the books are awesome. Man they are gonna miss out so many things in this movie, as the books are longer then shorten the movies for some retarded reasons. That's why no one likes the movies anymore, also the game versions are good as well. Fun to walk around Hogwarts and do random stuff xD

Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr are is an alright series. The first book may be childish but the 2nd and the 3rd books are awesome. They better make "Eldest" into a second movie, what's the point in making Eragon and not the other 2.Especially with Eragon's cliffhanger, can't end the moves there.

Spider-man 3 has to be the one of the worst Marvel movie ever. Nothing like the comics, and there was no point in Venom, he got beaten like he was just a small bug LOL. Before there used to be those two as separate entities and one more....funco land or some shit, but gamestop pretty much bought them all out and we just have gamestop. There might be more, but I don't know about them. However, if people want to get video games, we have places like best buy, target (a department store), walmart, etc. so we're not just stuck with gamestop...gamestop does some kinda of shitty things.

If you just take it as it is, I really enjoyed it. I don't think they should have used McG (the director). Bale did an awesome job, but he always does. But there's more than one terminator...I won't ruin that for you though. It was good though, I would watch it again. It's getting too many complaints for being too much action and not enough story...but honestly, it's terminator, we know the story (machines bad, humans good), action is pretty much all you need. Other people were complaining that it required the viewer to have past terminator knowledge to understand this one, but come on, that's a stupid argument. It's a sequel, not an adaptation. Even if you don't know anything skynet, it's still a fun movie to watch.

can't speak for nat, but most drawings are sketched out like you're describing, then scanned onto the computer, "inked" (lineart), and then colored in.

bean, there are many ways. some can be like you described, sketching traditionally and the scanning to the PC and then coloring. and there are also 100% digital approaches. Lately I've been doing only digital, but when I can't seem to get an angle right I sketch traditional and then ink.

though shading is much easier traditionally, because you have better pen/pencil pressure.

The third was a bit more action oriented, but we got to see that no matter what, one couldn't change the future... 4th one is good, but it doesn't really push the story forward. It's more of a set up or at best just a side story. It's a gaiden.

yeah, action was a big part of the first two...but the story also pushed the action along... The movies are successful because the action and story are well balanced....a movie with awesome action still falls flat on it's face and fails if the story isn't good... The story is only as deep as you want it to be...and for me, if you really think about it, the implications of what the movies are suggesting, it's not camus or nietzche, but it's not just a shallow action popcorn flick either.

Hmm... I think modern movies have a hard time to balance story and action out. They need to score points and the fastest way to do so is via a festival of effects and lots of hyper fast action.

Older action movies, such as T1 and T2, were limited in effects and had to add up with either plot or humor. I enjoy the fact that those movie don't show all sparky details but leave a lot in the shadows. They're also slower in story pacing. If you look back in movie history, the older the movies are the more slow and frozen camera shots they have. Action flicks of the 70ies and 80ies have really long shots per scene, while the mid-90ies movies started to speed up extremely.

I see this very well on my children. They're so much used to modern children movies that old ones appear to them as boring due to the slow pacing. They sit in front of the TV and start to move their bodies because they can't concentrate on such long camera shots and in worst cases they stop watching in the middle.

I own both consoles so my oppinion on the matter probably isn't too valid, since exclusivity doesn't really affect my gaming experience at all.

The reason I don't understand exclusivity is because it prevents the games being enjoyed by a wider audience, if I produced a masterpiece I'd want to make sure that it was accesable to as many people as possible.

Its like when u start a band, u think of the music u want to play or w.e, but it will suck if it doesnt attract the correct type of people. eg: I play something hardcore epic screamo, lyrics great, guitar playing great, different types of chords on all albums all songs not just 4 same old chords w.e u know. BUt the biggest portion of people I attract are emo gilrs and skinny faggot guys.

Basically hideo is trying to prevent that. He wants the right audience for his game. And if u appreciate hideo u will not hesitate to waste the extra bucks. Exclusive all the way for Hideo projects.

Well eni 600 dollars for a PS3 is a fair price with what is included. It most certainly has a lot to do with it. Hideo really doesnt do it for the money. By making it exclusive the dude is losing money compared to other developers/producers out there. Gaming is getting expensive with each generation. Ur either the one that bitches about the price, the one who just buys it, or saves up to buy it. Theres no point on complaining on their prices. Besides like I said a person who appreciates Hideos work will not hesitate to buy a ps3 to play his game (and if u know who hideo is in depth, chances are u already had bought a PS3 to wait for a game from him).

Quite so. I visited my friends from my old school over the weekend. It's a pretty big party school in that pretty much everything is centralized around drinking. Both groups of my friends had kegs at both of their places. We had a beer olympics.

My other friends (from high school) whom I haven't seen since spring break invited me over to try the new UFC game. We had some Blue Moon (first time trying it, but pretty good beer) and played progressively worse and worse.



Since I left my old school, I don't really drink much. The last time I did was New Years. Man, I miss that school....

The game play is like pacman, but whereas i pacman you have more enemies appearing whenever you go up a level, in mine its the higher the level, the more enemies, less items, some parts of the maze close within each level you through and then finally you hve a time limit on collecting the items... and the time gets deducted 5 secs whenever you goto the next level... but i hope its good though, my lecturer is marking it this week.. and hopefully i'll get it bk soon...
