Wow, that picture (of Samurais) really has impressed me with it's style. They look pretty cool. The samurai-style really has succeeded.

Now hopefully they are not just pure fodder that Sasuke can run trough.

Don't be shocked, that's nothing new from Naruto, I can't see Sai ever being killed, Databook mentioned Sai as Sasuke's successor.

I would really laugh if it turned out Sai was actually an Uchiha but he never activated Sharingan because he didn't know about it.

The Samurias sure do look like Beasts. I don't think they will be taken down easily, they are used to guard the KAGE SUMMIT. This isn't like in Zabuza Arc where you had lame Samurais.

I like their design and they look strong, just a thought though, the hidden villages, the nins are supposed to be the countries fighting force, its military as to speak and nins/shinobi would be the one's guarding the summit...just wondering why now has kishi introduced samurai's superior to ninja and shinobi. I would have thought they would have been ninja/shinobi as guards to the summit, a special group/organisation like the 12 shinobi guardsman that Asuma was part of something like that or am I just thinking to much. When countries wanted to hire strength it was always shinobi/nins and that was one of the reasons to create hidden villages they was the countries fighting, front line forces.

He saved glasses-sensei and tricked the shit out of Pain. He successfully used Kage Bunshin (forbidden jutsu) and Rasengan (A-rank jutsu). Not many people in Konoha saved anyone at all. He was one of the more impressive shinobi in Konoha that day. Anyone being fair would recognize that.

and Chouji and Chouza are heroes as well. They are also much older and more experienced than Konohamaru, so using that as mockery is silly.

But we shouldn’t discredit that he is able to perform a jonin level jutsu (shadow clone) and a S ranked chakra forming jutsu (rasengan – even if it was a mini one) that only a handful of ninja have been shown to be able to perform. Plus he is able to perform these without the aid of an enormous chakra amount like naruto has. I agree it would be nice to see him break out his own style, but let us not forget that we only saw him fight against pain. He could have a whole other set of skills and techniques that we are not yet aware of.

Hater. Konohamaru put his life against an Akatsuki member at the age of 11. Do you know how much strength, guts and will you need to do that? He is a true hero, he was glady happy to put his life on the line. Hell Realm's power literally sucked the soul out on Ninjas, that is one hell of a ability. It could be a matter of scale. Like she may not die for transferring some life force to a dead bird or mouse, because the requirement might not be much to bring it back to life. This would also serve as training for the jutsu. But to give life to a person or puppet, she will need to trade her complete life force. This is just a guess :)

I am glad about the Naruto/Konohamaru scene, especially with Kakashi seeing the new role that Naruto is taking in the village. it makes me proud of all three of them. There is power to be found in Konoha, no matter what other people think :)

Must agree, subtle things like Naruto being that sensei like figure gives a real satisfying feeling, its always great to see characters grow.. It also reminds me of what Shika said.. Yea, but Naruto graduated at 12, learned the Rasengan at 13. It would seem Kono graduated at 10-11, and just used Rasengan at 11-12. Kono was only 7-8 when the manga started, Naruto was 12.

Naruto's biggest issue was the fact he had to learn how to do things differently to other characters since he didn't have the required focus to create Rasengans on his own.

I feel as though Konohamaru picked things up quickly from Naruto because they probably learn in similar ways so what made sense for Naruto probably makes sense for Konohamaru.

Though it took Konohamaru 3 or so years to master Rasengan, even then it was quite small, in the flashback it looked like Naruto showed him how to do it before leaving with Jiraiya in part 1.

So it seems it took Konohamaru all this time to learn it and judging by Ebisu not knowing about it suggests to me he had only just mastered it not long before Pain invaded.

Naruto's biggest issue was the fact he had to learn how to do things differently to other characters since he didn't have the required focus to create Rasengans on his own.

I feel as though Konohamaru picked things up quickly from Naruto because they probably learn in similar ways so what made sense for Naruto probably makes sense for Konohamaru.

Though it took Konohamaru 3 or so years to master Rasengan, even then it was quite small, in the flashback it looked like Naruto showed him how to do it before leaving with Jiraiya in part 1.

So it seems it took Konohamaru all this time to learn it and judging by Ebisu not knowing about it suggests to me he had only just mastered it not long before Pain invaded.

He still learned it at a younger age than Naruto though. Not to mention Kono's retarted ass thought he was talking about a Sexy no Jutsu when Naruto was explaining it lol. Those were some of funny panels of Kono thinking about what it could have been haha.

Dude whats up with the hatred for konohamaru? Yes, he is using the same jutsus as naruto, who let us not forget is essentially his mentor/sensei. But we shouldn’t discredit that he is able to perform a jonin level jutsu (shadow clone) and a S ranked chakra forming jutsu (rasengan – even if it was a mini one) that only a handful of ninja have been shown to be able to perform. Plus he is able to perform these without the aid of an enormous chakra amount like naruto has. I agree it would be nice to see him break out his own style, but let us not forget that we only saw him fight against pain. He could have a whole other set of skills and techniques that we are not yet aware of.

Fyi, most of naruto’s jutsu and skills are copies of others

Uzumaki barrage – copy of sasuke’s lion barrage
Shadow clone – copied from that secret scroll (can’t remember the name)
Rasengan – jiraya
Summoning – jiraya
Tai jutsu style – a copy of kakashi’s

The only jutsu that he has created was rasen shuriken.

geniuses tend to have a leg up thanks to natural gifts, but they work hard for what they achieve as well just like anybody else.

Neji is a prime example. He trained his behind off without being a particular favorite in the Hyuuga family. He was pretty much a peasant of the family that trained on his own to achieve the most amazing things the clan has to offer and who knows just how much he has progressed since. Then there is one who was thought to not be possible of such, Rock Lee, was considered a genius by Kakashi himself as you don't just achieve what he achieved merely through hard work alone.

Naruto himself is also a genius. His strategy against a shinobi of Zabuza's level to free Kakashi was amazing. His ability to think as far ahead as he did against Neji was incredible and he continues to showcase how talented he is in his mastery of difficult jutsu and various skills like Sage Mode. The chain of actions he put into motion to finally take down pain were something to behold.

People won't like this, but I have a strange feeling that Naruto will have some form of sharingan because one of the absolute earliest pieces of art showcase a sharingan that look eerily similar to Itachis alongside some scroll.

well I guess it depends when you stopped reading. The art was pretty crappy for the first 100 chapters or so, but Oda developed his own style. If you compare the characters when they were first introduced and now, they're much better drawn now. The storytelling also really picked up. What I like about One Piece is that it's on such a more epic scale than Naruto. Naruto is simply about some kid's ninja adventures to become hokage. One piece is so much grander; there's a huge world and mythology already in place, that is revealed tantalizingly slowly. It hooks you in! The fights are also really good. I would have to say I like the fights in one piece better than any other manga with the exception of Air Gear (just because the fights in AG are amazingly creative and funny while being epic at the same time). NO character is immune; everyone loses at some point, and comes back stronger, and grows in this way.

I read quite a bit, I was very fair. I stopped reading in 2003, and I think it was around chapter 250 or so, I cannot recall precisely. There were some good moments in one piece but it cannot beat Naruto in any respect, except for weirdly designed characters.

Great writers don't just go with a flow, if Kishi was a great writer he would do something that would make him stand out from Bleach and OP, he has yet to do that.

As for Kishi's suspense, it's all very predictable. The only thing that came out of left field was Itachi being a good guy.

I mean, think, Konohamaru managed to figure it out after being caught once, and we know how naruto is, if katsuya wasn't with him, what makes you think he would have able to know that the other pein was the key to defeating the first 5.. it would have taken him ages to do. it does take him quite a while to understand an opponent's power.. Not really, Marvel comics aren't released on a weekly basis because they are longer and in color. Marvel could easily release a 17-20 page comic in black and white once a week, instead of a Full Color 24-27 page comic.

Marvel comics are story borded and reviewed before they are ever released or announced.

Now, you will find shitty Marvel writers, but there are also very good one's. While I think Kishi knows were he wants to go, I think he just makes up a lot of shit as he goes along.

As for the bold, Transformers 2 has made over 600 million dollars, yet it has gotten some of the most terrible reviews of all time lol.

Most people don't know good literature if it hit them upside the head. After reading many of the comments on these forums (not yours), I wonder if some people are even capable of reading and understanding good literature.

And yes, you can compare different types of literature. Storytelling is storytellling. There is good storytelling, and bad storytelling. In novels, manga, comics, short stories, etc.

Well certain arcs are certainly very good. I find the Zabuza arc fantastic on all fronts, there's literally no weakness to it and I think is were Kishi really shines as both a writer and an artist.

As far as individual moments go, the way Kishi handeled Jiraiya's death should be in the top ten of most shocking, heartbreaking, exciting, and EPIC moments of the manga. I mean I was speechless watching him bring himself back to life with willpower.

But, some arcs just drag, like the last one. And some chapters are just plain boring and not needed. The endless flashbacks to me are stupid.

When I consider how good someone is at writing, I don't just take in the good, but the bad as well.

Anyway, Kishi management of his characters is just great!
He could well not be the best writer ever, but that's not so often you find a mangaka capable of creating tens over tens of characters, all of them so well designed and developed, with their own backstory and personality.

Maybe he goes as far as putting someone aside, but can you imagine everyone of konoha's making their appearence every other chapter? Don't tell me you'd like Kishi killing a lot of people so that the ones who survive can get a bit more of the spotlight :P

Compared to the characters in Naruto, those in Bleach are just outshined for the most part. Kubo is just great in designing ultra-cool bad-ass characters, but when it comes to background story...bleah! (I like bleach so much, though)
