The language I was talking about was Afrikaans. It sounds soft and so pretty. I was visiting a South African friend of mine who lived near J-burg at the time. I was mostly traveling in a pair, but I bought a park-hopping camping travel package at a local travel agency to make my life easier to travel around in SA+Swaziland. (I already had enough weeks without electricity in other parts of Africa, so I was in a sightseeing mood.) Yes, Sun City was absolutely gorgeous. Durban was also nice. The incident was an "attempted" robbery, and I was only threatened. Some locals chased after the guy with a knife and got him, then punched, kicked, and whipped him with their belts .... just like what you might see in manga. (I think I asked them not to kill that guy but they did not stop.)

It's the same kind of daycare centre that I spent two weeks at in a Shantytown outside of Potchefstroom in RSA -09 so I am familiar with the environment and the medicationing / day schedule etc (roughly). And it's in the southern part of Zimbabwe, with good roads to Bulawayo and it's Airport if I wish to visit my friends in RSA. One of the guys I know from Potchefstroom works as a lawyer for one of the most successful firms in Southern Africa so he's often visiting Zimbabwe which means I have a high chance to meet him and hopefully his family too again. :)

They would in no way have the finances to be competing with European nations for the next four-five decades. Those countries (generalising ftw at the moment) are way behind in rules and regulations, general standard, production tech, public sector etc that it'll take a long time until they'll get on the right track again. I assume that within two decades they'll be as developed as China was a couple of years ago in terms of production technology level, infrastructural development etc.

However I believe in a rapid development and a technology increase that will be even faster than what the central/eastern asian nations had some years back.

This, however, is only applicable if the "Western" nations stay the fuck away from their banks and stops the shipping of guns and material made for warfare.

There is, however, not many triggers left to pull before we're in a third World War and that'd put 'em off another decade or so.
