The target is the "Specimen Alien" he likes the "human body".

The alien knows about kurono, he says he wants to kill him cuz he would be a problem to his people(aliens). He needs human skin in order to disguise himself as a normal human and to kill Kurono from the very beggining.

He knows about the catastrophe and says that God is watching the world and Ooki's victory is nothing in front of him.

Akari dies and Ooki choose the first option.

I wonder why he needed to disguise himself as a human though, since he was able to just about wipe out Ooki's team on his own (assuming this is the ZERO mission).

It seems the "Specimen Alien" was the only one who knew...they don't have to be all connected to share information, the vampires for example didn't knew the Yokai and the Yokai didn't knew the vampires. and they are both Gantz enemies.

The alien plan is kinda silly, like you said he doesn't need all this trouble...but the main point of it is to show that Kurono is very important to the history and not just a good Gantz Hunter.

I'm hoping that Kashihara Ooki becomes a part of Phase 3. I don't know much about his character, but I liked what I saw.

He was invisible at that time, probably he didn't hear it, but he was around.

Nishi, Izumi and Ooki are the only survivors, some time after he was already free he went like always to home after school, while walking in the train station he heard screams saying that someone was smashed by the train...then he says "Oh, it has begun".

The train accident was probably Kurono & Kato's death...

This was a great chapter! It gave me the chills. It's too bad we don't get to see what happens after Ooki is freed but before the train crash. I really wanted to see the first battle between Izumi and the vampires. It would be interesting if Nishi did hear the alien's comment about Kurono. That might explain why in the first mission he said he saw something in Kurono.

Well that was NOT the ending I expected..
I thought for sure everyone but Nishi and Izumi died.

The part about the aliens prophesying Kurono seems a little far-fetched, but it is a decent plot-twist.

Overall, Gantz-Minus was a success, in my opinion.
I hope we see Ooki in the future.

I think it was mentioned that Ooki chose to have his memory erased and left Gantz. Later, he is near a train station or something and here's a train accident. Then he says "it begins" or something like that. So either he was able to restore his memory, like Izumi, and tracked down the Kei Kurono mentioned by the alien in his final mission, or he can see into the future or something and has seen what's going to happen.

When did Nishi ever "see something in Kurono"? As far as I can tell Kurono always has been Alien Bait just like many other Gantzers. He could care less about Kurono. Unless of course you mean letting him have the points for the Onion Alien. But that, I imagine that it would be Nishi's version of a "here's your congratulation prize for surviving". If you mean explaining the basics of Gantz, remember he barely explained anything at all and also explained it to Katou and Kishimoto. So it's not like he saw something in Kurono IMO.

I think that GAT is referring to the aliens seen briefly when Izumi wants to go back to the room. He is telling Kurono about what excites him the most (hunting and killing aliens). He says there is no bigger thrill. Then it shows a few Gantzers running around shooting big aliens, they are wearing baseball caps and jeans. They only appear in a double-page frame so their actual importance is, really, just speculation.

IMO having this Kurono prophecy is a bad thing, now we know that Kurono will probably "save the world" or end the aliens at least. Besides Gantz was always very "random" in which characters died and were treated like trash, therefore the "There is no God" and this prophecy practically stated that fate exists, and I was convinced that Gantz's theme was how humans can make their own destiny and survive.

That's poor logic. If it was like that then why would it be told from this person's perspective? Why not one of the many others? Why not someone who perhaps did something more significant? It's obvious that Kei is going to do something very significant, or at least be heavily involved. Now the real question is which Kei. Perhaps this prophecy is voided by the existence of a second Kei, but that's just speculation. I can't actually read it, so I'm guessing what it says. :/

Also, if it was someone else who ended it then who's to say we would get to see what truly ended it all in the first place? Kei would just be battling and then it would all be over, that would not be very satisfying. I don't see why you guys would have issues with Kei doing something incredibly significant. :/

It could be that Kei won't be the savior, but someone else from the Tokyo team, but Kei will be "responsible" because he was the one that made sure that the Tokyo team would keep training. Who knows? Maybe Sakurai who wanted to do good and save people because he felt guilty would save the human kind? At this point I can pretty much say I can trust Oku for a good Gantz ending.

Also, I don't think future sight is related to fate [At least in this case]. The alien just saw it and understood Kei will have a great affect on the aliens and even the Katastrophe, dosen't mean it happens only because the alien said so, he just saw it

Also2 : When I think about it, isn't this chapter kind of a proof that te aliens arent created only for the missions? Otherwise, Why would he care about "his people"?

Eh? The character now exists as a paradox. That's automatic significance (go watch Back to the Future if you don't believe me). Upon encountering said paradox, this "god's" brain will explode.


Now the real question is which Kei.

As long as one of them dies, all other elements of the outcome won't matter to me (Katou, HS, Kikuchi, and Cherry could have a celebratory orgy for all I care).

Nothing like "he will be the key to our total destruction", just some guy that, for instance, might be making the aliens waste more resources in hunting kurono and allies than in some other important battle against other humans' groups

This may be too much to ask for, but would you translate whatever dialogue occurs between the target and Ooki, the end of their fight/transport, Ooki's choice, and Ooki's monologue in the subway? I'm very uncomfortable with that last line.

Okay, first of all, I do not view this alien as a precog. I view him as a time traveler. Both scenarios are rather silly, but time travel fits in more smoothly, especially given the posts informing us that Oku likes Back to the Future. If he were a precog, his plans would have been more successful.

I speculate that this alien witnessed the defeat, spiritually or physically, of the destructive entity referred to by himself and Nura. As a devoted follower, with the unique opportunity to travel back in time, he decided to prevent whatever circumstances led to the defeat of this destructive entity. As far as we have been informed, prevention meant the destruction of one Kei Kurono. As a relatively well informed alien, he would have been aware of gantz, as a hunting organization, and Kurono's identity. However,the alien wouldn't have been aware of the circumstances surrounding the final missions of the Tokyo team.

Here was his plan-
I'm a super badass. I will reveal myself to gantz's sensors, as an anomaly, forcing the handler to target me, repeatedly if necessary, for missions. The first team that comes after me will be completely overwhelmed. Upon their defeat, I will take the skin of an individual on the team. With this skin, I will enter Kurono's school as a student, befriend him, and keep tabs on him. Since I know that gantz recruits individuals who die, I will not personally kill Kurono before the subway incident. Instead, I will do one of two things: 1) I will repeatedly force gantz to target me for missions. Each team that comes after me will be annihilated. Eventually, Kurono will show up on a team. During his time as an inexperienced hunter and because he will be confused by the prospect of targeting a friend, he will be incredibly vulnerable. I will take this opportunity to destroy him; or 2) While masquerading as his friend, I will kill Kurono outside of a mission. This may be a better plan as there will be fewer complications (i.e. less leeway for the healing effects of gantz's transfer sequence or interference from other hunters). After this, I will resume my status as a target and defeat whatever teams the Tokyo handler sends, further ensuring that Tokyo, which had been problematic in the events of the future, will present no complications to the destructive entity's plans.

Now, the real mystery revolves around Ooki's final words in Minus. From his recruitment to the final mission, we were given, as far as I know, no reason to believe that he was a precog. Yet, he knew that certain events were set in motion with the subway incident. I don't intend to share my speculations (I imagine some of you have been given enough hints. Additionally, I see only two possibilities), and thus ruin the possible surprise, but I do think Ooki existed as an essential condition for the final arc, and he may just show up for the final arc, though one of my personal speculations about who/what he is doesn't require that he make an appearance.

p.s. It is highly likely that the destructive entity's defeat centers on the existence of the anomaly. Ironically, this time travelling assassin probably would have been better off remaining hidden and targeting Reika instead of Kurono. After all, even if she were to make it into gantz after the assassin killed her, it would be highly unlikely that her time as a hunter would overlap with Kurono's. Whereas Kurono figured out the essential element to survival on his own, Reika was informed about the suits by Kurono. Had Reika entered gantz during Nishi's "solo" missions or any period of time in which the veterans were uncooperative, she would have died. Without Reika, there would be no anomaly. But then, that would have ruined the self-fulfilling time travel paradox.

You and everyone else on these forums. You should try watching the Gantz abridged series on youtube. That will satisfy your Gantz craving for a little bit. As for the Gantz minus scanlation, don't hold your breath.

Light novels as a whole receive little to no attention from translators unless they're something immensely popular, like Haruhi for example. A one-off like Gantz Minus isn't going to compare since it's not by Oku, and it's just a large undertaking due to the amount of text. When it comes out as a book it may, but right now I'm not surprised at all that Minus wasn't really worked on.

Inside Ooki's head, the music continued to ring.

As the crowd thinned gradually, Ooki carefully took one step toward the direction of the headless body, and the volume of the music became noticeably louder.

Ooki turned around, took several large steps toward when he came from. Then he suddenly stopped, knelt down, and trembled all over. Although Ooki felt quite shameful for his behavior, he could not stop in any case. His legs lost all strength, and he slumped on the floor.

"Ah -! Someone help me, why ???"
The girl with heavy makeup, ran toward him screaming. Ooki suddenly straightened up, yelling to her:

However, the girl did not responde to any of Ooki's yellings. In front of her, stood another child just like the one "sent" by Akari. No, although they had the same face, looking closely, one would find that their clother are completely different. The child, is dressed in sweaters.

The rest of the corpse flew high in the air, and fell to the ground with a thudding noise.

The child, turned his round eyes slowly toward Ooki.

Empty-handed Ooki desperately took a step back and noticed another enemy besides the child. That guy is wearing a ragged suit, with a oddly new Bermuda shorts, it appears to be a different Prince Shoutoku from the one he just saw.

"Kiyaaaaaaaaaaa!"
Prince Shoutoku stared at Ooki, took a wild swing with his ladle. The space around Ooki became twisted. In an instant, Ooki felt like being inside a Dryer, his body moved violently and he felt the suffocating crush. He fell to the ground hard, and his back hit the building already damaged by the blast. But, strangly, his body still seems to remain intact.

"Ha, ha ... ... That, that gun ... ... Where did that gun go? Damn, where ..."
Ooki wanted to escape, but due to the intensive pain, he could not move at all.

"DON'T CALL ME UMAYADO(Prince Toliet)!"
Prince Shoutoku assumed his attack posture, ready to swung his ladle toward where Ooki's head was one more time. This time, Ooki could't dodge it any more. Ooki could imagine what kind of impact it would made, if that powerful attack wave made a direct hit.

With this shout, the katana cut the body in two, from head on down. Then, the black blood scattered all over. Suddenly, the prince's body stoped dithering, and fell.

"Uh, what, you still alive?"
Hearing that mocking laughter, Ooki looked up. It was the dirty-looking man with the reptilian gaze who talked to Akari in that room. He was standing with a large flashlight like stick resting on his shoulder. The katana that slashed through the head of Prince Shoutoku sprang out of that stick.

"You were scared in the face of such a low-level alien?"
Aliens ... ... in truth, the black sphere did write something like that. Yes, indeed it wrote the Shoutoku alien. Well they can only be called aliens among all things.

The dirty-looking man gave a nasty look at the child, took out a large pistol from his waist, aimed at the head of the child and pulled the trigger. That the gun only made a slight "Gyon" (a sound) sound, not the slightest bit scary. At the same time, an enlarging cross shape comes out of the body of the gun.

"Well ... uh ... what?"

"What are you people doing?! Hey!"
Ishibashi was frowning on his companions, chasing several Shoutoku Aliens.

"Isn't it obvious?"
A fat man with thick eyebrows, dripping with cold sweat, looked back at Ishibashi.

Ishibashi's companions, including himself, are a total of seven individuals. Beside Ishibashi stood a bearded brawny, not far there is another lanky man. A little farther away from them on the other side of the road, stood a thin man with crew cut, a middle-aged man wearing a "Chiba Lotte Marines" baseball cap, and a shorter man with dark circles around his eyes holding a gun.

The five Shoutoku aliens surrounded by them assumed a defensive posture, and four alien children are standing next to them. All around them, broken arms and legs were rolling around in a pool of blood.

"Other people get in the way, and cityhill got entangled and fell."

"The enemy is too weak, everyone charge in at once."
"But, but ... ..."
The fat man with eyebrows, saw the sharp gaze of Akari in the distance.
"Cut it out, Akari"
Ishibashi spit, took out his X-gun again. He walked ahead while shooting, eliminating an Alien child. Off to one side, one Shoutoku alien rushed toward him, anger distorting his face.

"DON'T CALL ME UMAYADO(Prince Toliet)!"
"Oh!?"
Ishibashi beamed with happiness. Sword blade pop out of the katana in his hand and skewered the charging Shoutoku alien.

With his belly skewered, the Shoutoku alien groaned, but at that instance, a laser bolt flew over from the other side. The alien was pinned to the ground by a net, turned into a beam of light and vanished.

"Akari -! Bastard! This is my prey!"
Eyes bulging, He shot an angry look toward Akari. Akari held the capturing Y-type gun in her hands, calmly looked past Ishibashi.

"Bastard, what are you waiting for! All the prey would be stolen by Akari, ah!"
Ishibashi shouted angrily toward his companions.

As if triggered by these words, the thick eyebrows charged in shooting, yelling, "Damn it! Go to hell."

The shot alien screamed, but it immediately opened its mouth, bearing its yellow teeth, flew itself toward thick eyebrows.

"UMAYADO(Prince Toliet)!"
The thick eyebrows fell into the deadly embrace of the alien, shouting in pain.

Ishibashi said while laughing, "I have no sympathy for you. How can you loss to trash such as this!"

In an instant, the alien's head exploded.
"Woo ah, blood, blood, it hurts like hell!"
Thick eyebrows rolled on the ground over and over, his face stained red by his own blood. Ishibashi was very unhappy, he kicked him away and then stepped on him.

They soon found the spot.
At the end of a street, there was an out-of-place apartment building painted in pure white. The name tag at the entrance of the building reads: Ru vyu roji.
This ultra-clean, ultra-white building stood out among the surrounding grayish non-descript buildings. Ishibashi's reptilian eyes lit up. He asked the lanky man next to him, "Are you sure about the spot?"
"Yup. It is beeping like mad. The Boss is right here." Ishibashi nodded toward the lanky man, watching Akari from afar full of lust.

Then the scream stopped abruptly.
Splash. As Ooki hide nearby, he heard the sound of something wet falling near him. It looked like a suited arm. The broken part is on the other side, but Ooki can still make out some liquid oozing from the other end.
“woo, wooo..” crying, Ooki withdrew his hands from the arm.
“Go to hell!” The man with the crew cut shot at the aliens surrounding the beard man angrily. “Stop! It is too late!” “Let me be!”
“Do you dare to defy me?” Ishibashi said in a threating voice. Crew cut was stopped dead in his track. “But, but he is my best friend!”
“You can’t help him when this happens. Run now!” Ishibashi grabbed his neck and threw him over the roof nearby. As he jumped on top of the roof himself, he shouted “Shoot! Keep shooting! No matter what, don’t let them get close!”
Crew cut, the middle-aged man wearing a baseball cap and the short man with dark bags under his eyes, fired upon the aliens below from the rooftop.
While the Shoutoku aliens kept fighting back with their ladles, Ishibashi and the gang were able to dodge the attack over the rooftop. Soon, the number of aliens became smaller and smaller. Finally, not a single one of the alien was moving.

Despite the damages to some of the walls, the apartment building used by the aliens was miraculously still intact. Hoisting the gun to his shoulder, Ishibashi looked at the large holes on the wall.
“That is really unbelievable! A place like this can hide so many aliens!”
“Here he comes!” Crew cut took a look at the detector on his arm, yelled out as he looked up.
“It is the Boss, Ishibashi san”. “You can tell without me saying it.”
Ishibashi licked his lip, pointed his gun at the gaps on the wall.
Then they heard a deep throated growling noise. Soon, they saw a shadow coming out of the gaps on the wall. The noise was coming from this thing. It looked just like Prince Shoutoku on the picture. It was wearing a large robe, and shoes with the tips pointing upward toward the sky. But the sword on its waist was huge. It was also huge. If it straightens up, it will reach the roof of this two-story apartment building.
“What is hell is this?” The middle aged man wearing baseball hat looked up at the Prince, puzzled.
“Idiots! ricefield!Don’t just stand there watching!”
“Errr, is this different from those previous ones?”
Ricefield pulled the bill of the hat toward his back, raised his gun toward the Prince.
Suddenly, Prince Shoutoku opened his eyes wide, and looked down at the Middle aged man.

Just hearing this voice made people tremble. The ultra-low frequency sound wave coming out that huge body is shaking all the surrounding objects. At a distance of less than four yards, Ricefield tried to cover his ears with his hands, but it was too late.
“Ahhhhh.”
“My, my, go die!”
An explosion occurred where Ricefield used to stand.
“Idiots! Drop to the floor!” Ishibashi screamed toward his companions. At the sound of his command, the stunned companions all drooped to the floor at once.
Then the shockwave of the explosion hit. As the shock wave passed, dust permeated everywhere.
Crew cut stood up and whispered, “what… gone, all gone!”. In the direction facing Prince Shoutoku, everything was blown away, including buildings.
“Ricefield … is gone!”
“Using sound to attack? Damn. What do we do now? It is a monster!”
The huge Prince Shoutoku, looked slowly around, then lean forward, and vomited out a number of Shoutoku aliens.
“Ahhhh, Ahhhh!!!” The man with dark bag under his eyes screamed out loud. He was pushed down by the Shoutoku aliens, and disappeared amongst them. Countless ladles went up and down. The scream only lasted an instant. Then the only sound left echoing throughout was the sound of something hitting a wet object, freezing anyone who hears it.
As Ooki watched, he felt something coming out of his stomach, and tried to cover his mouth.
“No! Look out!” It is the sound of Akari. Ooki looked up, and came face to face with the huge Prince Shoutoku looking down.
“wooo!” Ooki raised his gun and pulled the trigger. He missed. Prince Shoutoku smirked, pulling out a huge ladle from its clothier.
Pong. Sounding like an old refrigerator compressor, a strange light started to appear at the tip of the huge ladle. There was nothing for Ooki to do but to turn tail and run. Suddenly, Ooki felt a heat wave behind him. When he turned around to look, the light from the tip of the ladle was burning up the place he used to hide.
“Light saber?”
Whatever is touched by that light is turned to smoke in an instant. That light comes toward Ooki, and Ooki was too terrified to move, only able to watch the light approaching.
All of a sudden, the deadly light turned away and missed Ooki. It was Ishibashi who hit Prince Shoutoku’s shoulder from behind. Ooki looked warily at Ishibashi.
“Such a useless one. If you don’t want to die, get away from here.” Ishibashi spit at the ground.
With tears coming out, Prince Shoutoku turned toward Ishibashi with hatred. Dark liquid coming out of its right shoulder, Prince Shoutoku spit out more Shoutoku aliens and children. In an instant, the aliens surrounded Ishibashi.
“Damn, were all those Shoutoku aliens before spit out by him?” Ishibashi smacked his lips, firing at the aliens and children. Even though he finished them easily, he was unable to hit the Huge Prince Shoutoku.
“ Missed … Damn, what a troublesome thing.”
A black blade extended from Ishibashi’s right hand. With minimal motion, he cut down the enemy in front. About half of the enemy was cut in half right down the middle. But the aliens made no move to back off. All of a sudden, the black blade flew in the air, spinning around, and fell to the ground. The alien children pin down Ishibashi’s body, opened their mouth wide, bearing their yellow teeth.
“He, he, how about this!” The alien in front of Ishibashi all of a sudden exploded. Ishibashi was hiding the X-gun on his body, and shooting at the aliens point blank.
“Go die!” Then, the head of the Huge Prince Shoutoku expanded, then exploded and flew away. The joy of victory flooded on Ishibashi’s face.
“Oh, oh, this … this …” Now Ishibashi realized his X-gun and his hand are missing from the wrist. He saw his hand far away, and felt his body torn apart, and finally showed fear on his face.
“Arrr, Arrrr, that, that? … that???!”In the end, the sounds turned into scream. But it did not last long.
Then, the aliens and children surrounding Ishibashi were pinned to the ground by a net one by one. It was Akari’s work.
She picked up Ishabashi’s sword, and skewered the last alien, kicked it to the ground, and pinned it using the a. Akari looked down to see Ishibashi. Without any expression, she turned her head away.
The only thing remained of Ishibashi was his head rolling on the ground, with fear still on the face. Ooki can only look on, unable to do anything. Suddenly, he saw something moving. He looked up, it was the Huge Prince Shoutoku without its head, facing Akari.
“Look, it is still alive!” Ooki aimed his gun at the alien. Perhaps due to the slow movement of the alien, this time he did not miss. Even though Ooki hit its back and leg, the alien was still moving.
“Roar, roar” A roaring sound was coming out of the alien’s stomach, and it raised its ladle ready to swing.
“It is close to death, and still attacking?” Akari said calmly. She picked up Ishibashi’s sword, and cut off the left leg hit by Ooki. The huge alien body lost its balance, and felt. At this moment, the tip of the ladle lit up again.
“Zooommmm!” The alien gave out a last roar. A huge chunk of building nearby was blown away. Akari took no mind of it, and slowly shot at the fallen alien giant. Shinning wires start to cover the huge body. But the strength of Prince Shoutoku was still incredible. Despite all those wires pinning on the ground, it still seemed able to stand up.
“It is over, give it up.” Akari attacked it again. After who knows how many nets were put down, the huge body finally stayed on the ground, exhausted.

Eventually, Prince Shoutoku was turned into light and sent away. After confirming this, Akari threw the sword on the ground.
“Stupid men…” She looked at the thing that used to be Ishibashi.
Ooki followed her sight, and hurriedly looked away at the sight of the thing rolling around.
This must be a nightmare. Yes, it must be. Ooki closed his eyes and prayed. Let me wake up. Let me wake up please. This is impossible. In the past, Ooki had many impossible nightmares as well. But then, as soon as Ooki wanted to go back to reality, he would wake up like a normal day.

But this time, praying is of no use. When Ooki opened his eyes again, in front of his eyes, was the same Akari full of sadness, standing there not moving an inch.

The first link is the gantz/Minus Douji but i think the Artist has broken up the Projeckt.

I have found a german translation and i try to translate the Chapter 7-5 in german with an friend.

I hope realy Dark horse licended the Novels.
