With a face like that, how can you resist? Read on!

Sorry guys, I had planned to release Bleach comments earlier than this, but well, I was too lazy! Yup, that's my excuse. Not that I wasn't excited enough to do Bleach comments, but typing so much does take its toll on me sometimes. But hey, finally got around to it today. And I'm glad I waited, because this chapter was a little more complicated than usual. It sure felt like a full chapter! I could've done fifteen comments on this one if I wanted. Another nice thing about waiting, too - we certainly got a lot of nice scanlations in the meanwhile! M7 did a great job this week, so I'm going to use their pages for the review. (Binktopia did too, but I'm not too crazy about their translation - it's way too liberal imo. No offense to Mankai, their translator. Thanks also to BleachBuzz for doing a bang-up MQ scanlation, keep it up!)

Thanks also to pocketmofo and Winterlion for submitting their translations for the chapter here at MH - and lastly but not least - AkiDotress, who filled in this week for another translator. Much appreciated! As for the guy she replaced for a while - Djudge, hope your wrist heals fully soon!

Feel free to comment as always and please enjoy! :thumbs

Batting practice!

1. Getting Off Easy? You know what, I can't really imagine Ichigo at this stage of his career as a "substitute shinigami," after all the Hollows he's had to deal with in the past, and having been trained by Rukia to always attack to cut the Hollow's head off - to have held back from completely annihilating a Hollow that was apparently chasing after a little kid in the desert.

Look at Zangetsu; it's not even out of its bandages. Chad and Ishida even got into the act, too, and after what they did to Iceringer and Demoura, really surprising that they didn't destroy any Hollows, either. I know it's another case of "Plot no Jutsu," where Tite Kubo intended for these guys to be a factor for the rest of the storyarc, but still... Dondochizzle, Pesshe, and Bawabawa lucked out BIG TIME here.

http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/8608/02rz7.jpg
Be thankful they weren't, like, KILLED...?

2. The Bullies being Bullied? Gotta say I'm glad Tite Kubo didn't intend for this to be another Hollow fight but rather an introduction of new supporting characters (even if brief). It's a much more refreshing story twist.

So they were just playing "Endless Tag," huh. I can understand there being a sport like that in the middle of nowhere just to pass the time. Hueco Mundo reminds me a bit of the Shinigami's world in Death Note - where the reapers had nothing to do but play skulls and stones.

As for Nell's design, haha - well, okay, I'll get to that in the next comment.

http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/2104/03fv3.jpg
They ought to join Don Kanonji's troupe...!

3. The Desert Bros..!? First off, Tite Kubo never ceases to amaze me with his character designs. During the Rescue Rukia arc, I was thinking that, wow, the Gotei 13 are all very interesting, but at the same time, that was probably going to be the end of Kubo's memorable cast in the series, right?

Boy, was I ever wrong. After the Gotei 13 came both the Visoreds and the Espadas. As if that wasn't enough, now we have the Desert Bros., each of them also quite distinctive in appearance and personality once again, especially Nell Tu.

Looks like Tite Kubo's got one pretty active imagination, huh - I wonder just how many more characters he's still got in store for us? One thing's for sure, though - he won't run out of people to put on his volume covers anytime soon!

Nell seems to be the type of character meant to be adorable and cutesy, kind of in the Yachiru mold, but still different. More like a street urchin dressed in barbarian clothes ( the skullcap was an especially nice touch, I'd say! ) and one who's managed to form a gang out in the middle of nowhere with just her personality. Or looks, I suppose.

I'm going to venture a guess and say that Nell is the type of Hollow that was originally an "earthbound spirit" or "obsessed spirit," and actually had no malice whatsoever in her former life (well, she was just a child, wasn't she?) And now, she's an Arrancar, but I wonder how she became one!

Wouldn't be surprised if Dondochizzle was originally a killer (since Chad noticed that he spoke like a yabuza member) but I'm sure there's been plenty of mafia members who weren't all that bad. We don't know much about Pesshe yet, but I like his "ant" design the most. Bawabawa, heh, seems quite tame for a Hollow beast...

And if you're wondering why I'm referring to Nell as a "she," please see the next comment. ;)

http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/3011/04qd9.jpg
As long as Nell's not Hollow food...!

4. What is Nell, indeed...? Well, about the Desert "Bros." - I know most translators believe that Nell Tu is a "boy" and refer to Nell as a "he," "him," and "brother," but I thought straight off after seeing her that Nell was going to be a girl. (Of course, wouldn't be the first time that I could be mistaken, but I digress...)

Winterlion has actually supported this with her own translation. Ichigo referred to the siblings as 兄妹, which means "big brother, little sister," not Not 兄弟, which means "big brother, little brother." Winterlion surmised that the chapter was titled "Desert Bros." just because "Desert Siblings" wouldn't sound quite so catchy in English.

Anyway, because of that, that's why I'm referring to Nell as a she.

http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/7427/05ht9.jpg
Hero worship, anybody?

5. "The Good Guys." Should've figured that the perspective of the Hollow world would be decidedly different from that of the Shinigami and the Human world. The Espadas are apparently very well-respected to the denizens of the Hueco Mundo, if Nell's words are anything to be judged by here. And why not? Here, the Espadas are the best of the lot, and they're all working for the Hollows, basically. Though I think calling themselves "desert bugs" in comparison were kind of sad. But I'm reminded of how the rest of the Soul Society felt about themselves as opposed to the Shinigami.

And also of the Matrix movies, too, of how people "trapped within the Matrix" believe that the world around them is "right." Looks like Ichigo and company may have a tough time convincing Nell and company otherwise. Well, if they don't go feed on human souls - or will they? Or perhaps, Arrancar aren't so much Hollows at the core anymore, and they're a bit more shinigami-like. So far it's seemed that way... Kind of cool to see that the Arrancar aren't ALL so smart and deadly and so confident of themselves, though, and there are ones like Nell out there, too.

http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/5295/06xk1.jpg
Trick or treat!

6. The Wrong Gang. Well, nobody will ever accuse Ichigo and his friends of being deceivers. Didn't even feel like they had to hide themselves while they were travelling through the enemy's homeland!

Heh... well, Nell and his friends' reactions weren't completely unexpected here, although I had thought that they'd be totally clueless to who the shinigami were all about. Guess not, though. Must've been educated pretty well. Maybe Aizen makes a point of going out into the wasteland and making speeches to the Hollows.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4517/07fa2.jpg
Hear me roar!!! (Or spit out sand...)

7. The Sand Guardian...! Just had to say that I really liked the design of this monster. And that I've never seen so many defense mechanisms in place for an archvillain's hideout before in any manga before.

I've always thought that villains such as Orochimaru, the Akatsuki, and Crocodile in other stories made it a bit too easy for people to reach them. But Aizen, on the other hand... it's going to be quite the journey to even reach the "Wizard of Oz," eh? Already, Ichigo and co. have had to fight through two near-Arrancar, and now a huge Hollow made of sand. And there's still the Espada to come. Pretty impressive.

This really feels a lot like the beginning of the Soul Society arc, too, when Ichigo had to fight his way through Jidanbou, the gigantic gate guardian. Since Aizen came from the Seireimon, though, it makes sense that he'd apply similar defenses.

Even though Ichigo may be able to break through them, for most people it'd be daunting enough that they'd be deterred from going any further. (Although Runaganga certainly seemed even more formidable than Jidanbou!)

http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/8220/08aj3.jpg
You said you wanted a shave?

8. Surprise Attack! Well, Ichigo certainly didn't waste any time here trying to kill Runaganga :p

Although I can understand Ichigo relying on the Getsuga as it seems very quick and to the point, I hope this won't turn out to be like Naruto's Rasengan where he constantly uses it as his signature move. Let's see something a bit new, please.

Ichigo's ban kai is sort of a disappointment when you think about it more though - it is essentially just more speed and a superpowered Getsuga. Although maybe there'll be more to it later on. I suppose he did master it in only a short time, and Byakuya seemed to imply to Renji that their ban kai could improve with experience.

http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/4100/09bw0.jpg
What a sucky move.

9. The Antlion's Trap...! Well, alright, that would be a pretty effective trap for any intruders. Gotta hand it to Runaganga, that's a better way of guarding the fortress than just to fight head on head. Wonder if he uses the same "quicksand" moves that Ganju did back there when he used to travel with the group, except to a larger extent.

http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/1789/finka1.jpg
Brain freeze!

10. Here's Some Water...! Heh, Ichigo asked Nell what his weakness was, and got "water" as an answer, all I could think of was, heh, water in the desert, what a lifesaver it can be, huh?

http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/7747/fin2ei0.jpg
Guess who?

Well, looks like Rukia and Renji decided to tag along after all. I'm really happy to see that Rukia didn't abandon Ichigo, because she certainly owes him a lot. And we've still yet to see Rukia kick butt that much, especially as a Shinigami.

As for Renji, I can't say I'm all that happy to see him though. In my opinion, despite his ban kai probably still in its premature mode, we've seen enough from him. I'd have liked to see one of the other assistant Captains instead - Hisagi Shuuhei would have been good, because he clearly wanted to see Tousen again. Well, maybe later on for all that, I guess.

RATING: 5 out of 5 stars. This was one of these rare Shonen Jump chapters where I truly felt like it was a full chapter - it gave us a lot of story and action in one go. And lots of new developments. Very well done on Tite Kubo's part. If the rest of the storyarc were all like this chapter, we're in for an awfully good tale.

Predictions: Renji and Rukia talking to Ichigo and co., what else? I'll be interested in seeing how they react to Nell and his friends, as well.

Credits: Thanks to M7, and all our translators here.

Hope you enjoyed, and looking forward to seeing what you think!

I think Nell's adorable ^^ You're right, he/she's a very Yachiru like character. That little-kid cuteness is so...cute XD the "brothers" were a little weird though XD

I was so excited when I saw the panel with Rukia and Renji! I was like "zomg!" I really like Rukia, and it'll be good to really see her in action. I really like her white zenpaktu (don't remember it's name XD)

A very good chapter, and very good comments, too <3 Now I'm really pondering Nell's gender >.>

Dragonzair hopes Nell's a boy for some reason. XD

And Rukia's zanpakuto's name is Sode no Shirayuki, let's just call it SnS for now xD

Binktopia did too, but I'm not too crazy about their translation - it's way too liberal imo. No offense to Mankai, their translator.

He won't be offended, it's something that happens with Binktopia, it annoys people from time to time, but as you say, this week and every week there are many superb scanlations to choose from, we're supposed to have Rei-Buntai to provide a comparitively hard-line translation but we've been having some significant problems even getting anything released recently so that project won't return until next week.

1) It's a little bit whacked most definately, but it isn't the most offensive plotting I've ever seen, still, it does get annoying at times, a tiny little bit more planning by the author is all it should take to avoid nonsensical stuff like this.

2) Whoo, Nell is awesome. Hanatarou Mk II?

3) Strangely enough I think the one on the right is actually kind of... well, cool. One of the reasons I was drawn to Bleach (Even before One Piece or *shock* Naruto) is the way it looks, he's a very stylish artist, and throws out great character designs continually, and has utterly avoided appalling moments like the Sasuka "Drag-Queen" Cursed Seal and Gaara the overweight housecat demon. Even his comedic characters look kind of cool. One Piece is still King though. :p

4) Yeah, this should be sister.

5) It's all Shinigami propoganda and lies I tells you!

6) Great facial expressions, although a Hollows mask really shouldn't be that expressive. :p

7) Yeah this guy was looking cool, hopefully he can do something about the ice and get to y'know, show his stuff. I'm not sure if I like the idea of Rukia one-shotting everything she sets her mind on either.

8) I'm actually guessing it's the norm for powerful Shinigami to have multiple "Forms" of a single Shikai or Bankai akin to Rukia's dances or Byakuya's Senkei. Tousen and Renji are others who have displayed this capability, albeit only at Shikai. When Getsuga Tenshou was first used it was described as a technique rather than an ability, and whilst that could just be a translation thingummie it seems significant and suggests that other techniques might be learnable

9) Looked cool...

10) But was ultimately pointless, this was a rather tedious thing to happen, and I actually like Rukia.

Uhuh..... This is kinda of a Chapter that I was hoping for. New faces. I did predict taht there's gonna be a rebel group of Arrancar who don't follow Aizen. Not really what I predicted, but it came close. Who would have though Nell is an Arrancar...

Aaah... Nell is cute. I hope Nell is a boy though. So young, yet has become an Arrancar. Who taught this liitle kid to take off his mask? Nell is a good character. I can see Kubo is using Nell as an offset to the big fights that are coming soon. Perhaps, Nell can give them more insight about the abilities of Arrancars to Ichigo and co.

For character designs, as I said, I like Nell's. He (I wanna Nell to be a boy) kinda reminds me of Chrno in Chrno Crusade. Yes, I'm also wandering what makes Nell an Arrancar. As we know, Arrancar is powerful. Nell is really like the opposite of Yachiru.

Seriously, the guy at the far right is the worst design of all 4. He looks like a former samurai who died of starvation IMO. Plus, his mask doesn't look too much like the standard Hollow mask.

4. What is Nell, indeed...? Well, about the Desert "Bros." - I know most translators believe that Nell Tu is a "boy" and refer to Nell as a "he," "him," and "brother," but I thought straight off after seeing her that Nell was going to be a girl. And, Nell's brothers' are either sweet or airheads. They took Nell as their little brother because he's cute..... So much for the mindless and emotionless citizens of HM.....

7. The Sand Guardian...! Just had to say that I really liked the design of this monster. And that I've never seen so many defense mechanisms in place for an archvillain's hideout before in any manga before.

Finally, some monsters... Runaganga might be the reason why the trio running endlessly on the desrt even though they can see Los Noches in front of them. They were running on this monster's back all the time.

Well, looks like Rukia and Renji decided to tag along after all. I'm really happy to see that Rukia didn't abandon Ichigo, because she certainly owes him a lot. And we've still yet to see Rukia kick butt that much, especially as a Shinigami.

So much for Hanatarou... Who came up with the Hanatarou idea anyway? It's good to see Renji and Rukia back. But, there's something weird. I'll explain later. Renji probably has improved much since he lost to Byakuya, furthermore, before that, he has nearly completed materialization of his BanKai. As for Rukia, I wonder how strong is this most beautiful Zanpakutou.... Perhaps she should ask Hitsugaya for pointers in using ice-type Zanpakutou.

Well. I guess your rating of 5 is fine. After Chapters of fighting the Espada and Arrancar, we need some rest and open up the storyline.
As for further development, here are what I'm thinking.

1. Ichigo needs to learn to control his Hollow quick. And since Nell is an Arrancar, he should ask Nell (should be funny - imagine Nell put up training courses like Urahara for Ichigo). After all, who's better to explain about Hollows if not Hollows themselves?

2. Like I said in your previous comments, this group is not part of Aizen's work. I wonder what made them so. At least Aizen can take Nell and his brothers as circus clowns inside his palace.

3. Here is what weird. Remeber that Rukia and Renji initially made a request to Yamamoto to stay on earth and go to HM to bring back Inoue. Which ended with Byakuya and Kenpachi escorted them back. So, SS already knows the relationship of those two to Ichigo and co., and they already stated their intention although refused. So, why they are in HM? Sure SS will keep close watch on Rukia and Renji. Unless someone like Byakuya or Urahara is pulling the strings from behind, I don't see how they could arrive here. If this is true, what we saw maybe was just Aizen's Zanpakutou playing around again. That may support Aizen's calmness.

Overall, great comments as usual. I don't think we'll see much action after for 2 or 3 Chapters to come. It's ok so long as Kubo don't make us bored with boring explaination. I wanna to know about the newly arrived duo's explainations and how Renji will react to Nell :grin

Great comments as always GK.

1) I partially agree with you: their actions are a little strange. But even if Ichigo has the force to destroy the Hollows immediately I don't think it's so out of character for him to act this way, and maybe Ishida didn't use his full force because he waa looking for information and Chad followed the flow :D More or less. (It's very hard to express your opinions/ideas in a language you don't know well)

2) Yeah, interesting introduction.

3) I really would like to know these arrancars were created.

4) I don't know,we'll see. Probably Tito will explain that and continue to ignore the true misteries.

5) The reversing of role is interesting, even if not very original. I'm not so sure the desert bros and other as them admire numeros(sp) and espadas, I believe fear is the main emotion towards them. By the way it's too soon to make assumptions, I started thinking soon we'll see a correspective of the Rukongai in Hueco Mundo and lear how these lesser arrancars were created.

6) Amusing expressions by the desert bros :D

7) Interesting points, I believe the true force of Runaganga lies more in his weakness, water which isn't present in the desert, than in his overall force.

8) I really like Ichigo's bankai, I believe extreme speed is fondamental in battle and I think his bankai naturally become more powerful as Ichigo improves.

10) Unexpected! Didn't you think that Rukia is too tall in that scene?

nice gk! :ossu

I am just wondering how Ichigo will be able to rescue Rukia if he can't even kill a simple sentinel >_> I hope it doesn't end up like SS arc where he beats a 200 years captain by just training for 3 days.

My only criticism of this chapter is the design for Nell's mask. It's a skull, plain and simple....TOO generic for me.... :notrust

2) Whoo, Nell is awesome. Hanatarou Mk II?
I see Nell as more of the b@$tard love child of Hanatarou and Yachiru.........my God, that's an awkward pairing.....please don't kill me, DZ....look at my cute face--> :wtf

Anywho, I kinda do like the idea of "friendly Arrancar"....still keeping my theory that Wonderweis may follow Nell's path and become good....I mean, the little guy saw GrimmJow do his best impersonation of Paladin Alexander Anderson's evil laugh of joy in volume 1 of the Hellsing manga (check out page 146 in vol. 1 if you don't believe me; it's right after he turns Alucard into a pin cushion......literally. If someone has a pic of that, please provide...thanks!). I'd have some serious trauma after that myself, and begin to doubt my place in the ranks of Aizen's minions....

Good job, GK!!

I'm really pleased to see there being so many scanlations of Bleach out these days. As much as I still prefer Naruto to the others, I did think it was getting way too much attention in comparison. As for the project problems, hope it gets worked out. You guys do good work.

1) It's a little bit whacked most definately, but it isn't the most offensive plotting I've ever seen, still, it does get annoying at times, a tiny little bit more planning by the author is all it should take to avoid nonsensical stuff like this.

Exactly. That was pretty much my only gripe with the chapter. Still, it's not all that major, but they could have had Nell shout out before Ichigo even lands a blow.

But I realize Tite Kubo's running on a weekly deadline, too, and he probably doesn't have all that much time to think about the writing, given that he also has to draw it. Sometimes I wonder how these mangaka do it. If I hadn't heard that they employed assistants, I'd have thought they were all superhuman.

2) Whoo, Nell is awesome. Hanatarou Mk II?

LoL, I suppose he could be the Hanatarou of this storyline. So many parallels. :p

Yeah, as much as I like Naruto, I do think Tite Kubo is a better artist overall than Kishimoto. But as for OP, while I think Oda has a more creative imagination, I still prefer Bleach and Naruto characters over OP's, sorry ;)

4) Yeah, this should be sister.

Okay.

5) It's all Shinigami propoganda and lies I tells you!

Hmmm...

6) Great facial expressions, although a Hollows mask really shouldn't be that expressive. :p

That's manga for ya.

7) Yeah this guy was looking cool, hopefully he can do something about the ice and get to y'know, show his stuff. I'm not sure if I like the idea of Rukia one-shotting everything she sets her mind on either.

Eh, that move didn't work on Grimmjow, but on lesser Hollows, why not?

8) I'm actually guessing it's the norm for powerful Shinigami to have multiple "Forms" of a single Shikai or Bankai akin to Rukia's dances or Byakuya's Senkei. Hm, true, point taken.

Eh, I'm just glad it didn't leave us on a cliffhanger of watching Ichigo and his friends being sucked ( Rukia appearing to save the day was cooler. )

Thanks for comin' around Binky ^^

Uhuh..... This is kinda of a Chapter that I was hoping for. New faces. I did predict taht there's gonna be a rebel group of Arrancar who don't follow Aizen. Not really what I predicted, but it came close. Who would have though Nell is an Arrancar...

I kinda suspected it right away having seen Nell's broken skullcap. Still weird, though.

I suppose you're right now thinking a bit about it - Yachiru is much more confident and faster than Nell appears to be, and Nell doesn't seem to have a high opinion of herself. But they've both got that same aura of cuteness.

Seriously, the guy at the far right is the worst design of all 4. He looks like a former samurai who died of starvation IMO. Plus, his mask doesn't look too much like the standard Hollow mask.

Aw, but c'mon! That insect mask's cool! Heh.

I still wanna Nell as a boy. I don't care what Winterlion (no offense to her :p ) said, I wanna Nell to be a boy. All for the sake of the possible meeting with Yachiru. And, Nell's brothers' are either sweet or airheads. They took Nell as their little brother because he's cute..... So much for the mindless and emotionless citizens of HM.....

..."for the sake of the possible meeting with Yachiru," huhn? XD

Finally, some monsters... Runaganga might be the reason why the trio running endlessly on the desrt even though they can see Los Noches in front of them. They were running on this monster's back all the time.

Nice theory. Hmm, I think that Runaganga should've attacked before Ichigo and company even met up with Nell and I think it would've observed that they would probably have told them too much.

Of course, maybe it didn't exactly understand who Ichigo and co. were until Ichigo told Nell who they were. It did attack immediately afterwards. So you could be right.

Agreed, I think Rukia would probably have done better to join Hitsugaya's divison, all things considered... unless Ukitake's swords are of the same element. (We still don't know that much about 'em, I guess.)

Well. I guess your rating of 5 is fine. After Chapters of fighting the Espada and Arrancar, we need some rest and open up the storyline.

1. Ichigo needs to learn to control his Hollow quick. And since Nell is an Arrancar, he should ask Nell (should be funny - imagine Nell put up training courses like Urahara for Ichigo). After all, who's better to explain about Hollows if not Hollows themselves?

Hah XD I like that idea, but I think Ichigo's in too much of a hurry right now to train any, and I think that'll bite him in the butt. I think Chad and Ishida and possibly Orihime will have to bail him out. Or Nell, I guess. Maybe afterwards then he could train. But that'd be funny if Nell ended up being his lil sensei after all.

2. Like I said in your previous comments, this group is not part of Aizen's work. I wonder what made them so. At least Aizen can take Nell and his brothers as circus clowns inside his palace.

That's harsh. XD Well, it seems like other Arrancar can similarly create Arrancar ( remember how Iceringer broke Grand Fisher's mask? ) so maybe one broke Nell's mask for the fun of it? And maybe only Aizen can actually create the most powerful Arrancar?

I don't know either, but I suspect Ukitake had a hand in escorting them to Hueco Mundo. Wouldn't be the first time he's defied Old Yama.

Overall, great comments as usual. I don't think we'll see much action after for 2 or 3 Chapters to come. It's ok so long as Kubo don't make us bored with boring explaination. I wanna to know about the newly arrived duo's explainations and how Renji will react to Nell :grin

I agree, I'd like to see some story, and I think we will get it. We've had enough action for a while. But I do think we'll be getting some Espada action in a few chapters.

Thanks for commenting, baxteristic ^^

@ Luckas04

Great comments as always GK.

1) I partially agree with you: their actions are a little strange. But even if Ichigo has the force to destroy the Hollows immediately I don't think it's so out of character for him to act this way, and maybe Ishida didn't use his full force because he waa looking for information and Chad followed the flow :D More or less. (It's very hard to express your opinions/ideas in a language you don't know well)

You're doing fine ^^ And I suppose Ichigo is a softy at heart... but watching Hollows chase after a kid, you'd think he'd have sliced them to bits. But yeah, maybe they intended to tie them up and interrogate them.

That's another thing, Nell and his friends didn't exactly seem to be fearful as Iceringer implied they all used to be before Aizen came along, although I guess they did all get spooked when Ichigo and his friends revealed themselves, heh.

10) Unexpected! Didn't you think that Rukia is too tall in that scene?

Tite Kubo does tend to screw up drawing Rukia's height from time to time. I think he just can't decide how to best draw her. But I'm sure he intended for Rukia to appear more grand in her appearance here. Maybe Renji's standing on a sand dune or something. Heh! Thanks for coming around again Luckas ^^

@ibra87

nice gk! :ossu

I am just wondering how Ichigo will be able to rescue Rukia if he can't even kill a simple sentinel >_> I hope it doesn't end up like SS arc where he beats a 200 years captain by just training for 3 days.

Well, that wasn't your usual sentinel, and it did catch Ichigo off-guard. But yeah, that's not a good omen for him at all. XD

My only criticism of this chapter is the design for Nell's mask. It's a skull, plain and simple....TOO generic for me.... :notrust
I see Nell as more of the b@$tard love child of Hanatarou and Yachiru.........my God, that's an awkward pairing.....please don't kill me, DZ....look at my cute face--> :wtf

Eh, I don't really see Hanatarou in the kid. More like the love child of Yachiru and that parrot kid that Chad helped out early on in the story, heh.

As for the skullcap, I think it suits Nell well, as she's obviously a kid.

Wonderweis does seem more like Nell and his friends than any of the Espada.

Thanks, Goofy ^^

Hahahaaa!!! wonderful impersonation/impression.

Anyways, i always expected some sort of life in HM- so i wasnt quite surprised when i saw nell and co. i mean i expected a world with a dimension of its own to have some sort of structures even if not organized socially, like cities, communities, rules, or something. Partly because i didnt think Aizen went to a place where he would have to completely build most things from scratch.

Nell is a she? Thats an interesting bit of news. Thanks for the translators :loool
I think Nell and Co. are going to take or play a similar hanatarou role- i just hope she and her siblings have no healing tricks up their sleeve- de ja vu - eh!!!

Lastly, seeing Rukia was just awesome for me. i am quite tired of always havind had to defend her as being strong when Kubo hadnt shown much of that. So, immediately i saw her- i told myself- well, it is about time. She has played such a central role in the story so far- it is about time she takes a share of the centre stage.

^ Oops. Edited instead of quoted, venicia. Sorry about that, it happens to me sometimes. >.<

Edit: Oh well, fixed.

I expected something more like Hollows hiding everywhere, actually, a realm of monsters. But Nell and her friends may just be an exception.

Yeah, pocketmofo also agreed that Nell was a girl when Winterlion asked him about that line. Unless Ichigo was just mistaken, that's the way it would seem to be...

Agreed, it's time we see more of Rukia. She's been one of my faves since the beginning, though.

Thanks. Time for me to do my OP Comments, I guess!

ahh!!! One Piece time :yelling :yelling this is a chapter in OP i thought GK shouldnt miss.

anyways, i agree with the Rukia assertion. i mean- she wasnt a favorite character of mine but she ended being the only one i have had to defend most ardently in the whole bleach series since fans kept yapping about how weak she was. It was almost as if sakura from naruto had given her the full weight of her pre time skip image- yeah!!pretty close to how sakura was perceived in naruto- it was!!!!

it is about time. She has regained all her strength- i hope.

Okay. It's comment commenting time.

For one, I was rather confused at one point. I thought the more human arrancar are, the more powerful/smart they are. Nell seems pretty human to me. Ichigo even thought she/he was human. :blink

Also, if Rukia hadn't been there to save everybody's favorite protagonist, would it have been possible to defeat the sand hollow at all? It seems like they might have actually...lost. Or wasted all their energy scattering his body everywhere. That's a pretty specialized (and good) defense Aizen set up. :noworry

That's all for now.

Yeah, I agree with you on this....I recall Ichigo's bankai having a second move, called "Black Moon Fang" (Dattebayo translation). He used this during his duel with Byakuya.....when we were all first introduced to Hollow Ichigo. It was basically the Getsuga Tenshou, but jet black with a red outline surrounding the reiatsu blast; however, it seems to be fired off more rapidly than the Getsuga, as Byakuya took three of them head on. However, it seems that only Hollow Ichigo was able to bring that move out. I'm surprised Ichigo hasn't tried using the "Black Moon Fang" attack since beating his Hollow into submission.

One thing that makes me curious......why doesn't Nell have a zanpakuto when she is an Arrancar? Are those only exclusive to the Numeros and the Espada?
Another thing....I'm curious to see what Nell was like as a Hollow.....her personality would most likely make her the Yachiru of all Hollows.....lol

Good point, I kept feeling like there was still something off about Nell being an Arrancar that I was missing, but you hit it on the head. Although if I remember correctly, Iceringer only referred to intelligence as a major factor in whether Hollows become more human-like. He dismissed the idea of complete Arrancarization leading to extra power, although it could be that he denied it because he wasn't able to be a whole Arrancar. In any case, Nell could just be a really smart kid.

Not all the Gotei 13 held swords, either. And Nell might just not be experienced/trained enough to have a weapon. Like she said, the Arrancar are specialized warriors.

And Nell would have probably been a little ghost of some sort, the kind that we see on Halloween night. ;)

I wanna ask your comment on this one. What is your thought?

Nell is an Arrancar, right? So, didn't Hitsugaya said that there are three levels of Menos? The highest is Vasto Lorde. Which brings up this thing. Vasto Lorde is supposed to have a shape nearing human. Look at Nell. I don't see Nell like any Hollows because he's completely human-like. So, is Nell a Vasto Lorde? Which pretty means, his level is somewhere around Grimjaw right?

I just quoted myself ^_^ Too lazy too type it all back

Either Nell is pretending to be weaker than she appears, or doesn't know how much power she actually has and doesn't know how to control it, or she's pretending to be an Arrancar, either through using some sort of Hollow disguising-power or she's a shinigami kid who happened to find herself in the wrong world. :/ We haven't exactly seen her "Hollow hole" yet...

What do I think? I think she's an Arrancar but has no idea how to control her power yet, but yeah, she has the potential to be at the Espadas' level. But she's too scared right now, or in awe of the Espada, that she doesn't believe it right now.

EDIT: Or maybe it's just that Nell is currently a VERY young Arrancar, and her power hasn't come into fruition yet. She has the intelligence but it hasn't really manifested itself in the form of raw Arrancar power yet.

Hey Ebisu. For the first time I'm actually getting around to commenting on your comments and not just reading them. :p

We chatted about this earlier, but I really believe Neru is an Arrancar. I was thinking about it after our chat and I had this thought, if Neru wasn't an Arrancar (or just a hollow even) first, how would she have ended up in HM? Second, wouldn't Pesshe and Dondochakka have noticed? However, Neru wasn't an Arrancar created by Aizen. You can see a scar on her face, and my opinion is that her mask was somehow damaged and Neru the Arrancar and the scar on her face was born. She was a regular hollow before that, but as bax pointed out, Neru must have been a Vasto Lorde class hollow, and now an Arracar.

But that doesn't mean that she's at Grimm's level yet. Because while we can presume that the Espadas were all off Vasto Lorde class originally, they've now obtained even more power through Aizen and the hougyoku. Menos, no matter what the level - Gillian, Ajudacas, or Vasto Lorde - is still a hollow with a full mask. And an Arrancar possesses powers above regular hollows.

So where does that leave Neru? Imo, she's still not fully developed into her powers. I think that as the story progresses, we'll get see a little of what she's capable of, but not all. In that I think there'll be a lot of parallels between her and Yachiru. But since her transformation from hollow to Arrancar didn't come at the hands of Aizen (I'm assuming this based on the fact that she isn't associating with Aizen and co) she would have less power than an hollow who became an Arrancar through the use of the Hougyoku. So all in all, probably not at Grimm's level... yet. But I think Neru and brothers will play an important role through the rest of this arc, and that we'll see more of them and we'll get to see some of Neru's power that either she doesn't know she has yet, doesn't know how to control them, or for whatever reason is deny she has them.
