I think I've made a great discovery!!! The doctor on Blackbeard's crew is a Swordsman!!!!

Look here: http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/133/19/

You see Blackbeard in the middle, van Auger with the gun on the right, the Muscle Guy behind Blackbeard because he is big, you see a swordsman to the left, and you see Laffite all the way back there.

First we thought Laffite would be a swordsman because of his cane and all. but why would Blackbeard have in that picture a swordsman, and Laffite also??????

here I found what I was looking for: http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/434/19/

on the doctor's back is a sword!!!! =D

Mhmm could be that he is a swordsman but what is so special about that ? sorry i dont get it.....
Blackbeard´s crew is a little bit like a mirror to luffy´s crew so i think its not surprisingly that they have a swordsman.

Always looked like more of a cannon to me. Probably something really bizarre though. Giant pipe? Weather control device?

Doc Q is the man on the left (riding the horse), not the man in middle with the cannon - this is sharpshooter Van Auger :D

Eh, we haven't had a clear view yet, it could be a million things. Doc Q clearly isn't in top physical condition to seemingly fight, nonetheless be a swordsman. And now the crew has Shiryuu of the rain.....

that is why it's so important cause, they now have two swordsman, wonder what skill Doc Q has with the sword to rival someone other than Zoro, or the same could be said about Shiryu, what other skill does he have other than sword.

nice catch, i've never seen that before, good eye for details i must say, but if he is a swordsman, then he could be something like a knight right? i mean he has a horse, and its not unseen, we saw one on skypiea so its doable but i admit it would be very wird to see a decrepit old man in a decrepit old horse playing knights xD, another posibility is that he takes some sort of steroids before the fight allthough that would be to much of a rumbleball.

i dont think its a sword, and if it is the sharp edges wont be the point.i guess it somthing to do with poison or explosives.

Could just be a stick...

Really, it's a cloth-wrapped pole-like tool. Could be almost anything under the sun, but I'd be willing to bet it's not a sword since that wouldn't really work in a fight with Chopper (who he would probably fight against).

the thing is in the first pic http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/133/19/

we could agree that Laffite is the one in the far right cause it looks like his silhouette, and we have a swordsman on the left. That was seen before ID obviously, so if Shiryu isn't there and Laffite is in the far back, then either Burguess (Wrestling fighter, NOTHING to do with SWORDSMAN) or is it Doc Q (that in the second pic has a "swordlike" thing wrapped up) ?

That is why I think that, it's the combination of both pics that made me think this

Sorry, but silhouettes say nothing. Because in those silhouettes:

- Almost everyone has a cape
- Burgess is tall and evenly proportioned
- Doc Q is standing on his own two feet and has no horse

Silhouettes allow the author to change things. If we look at the first Shichibukai silhouettes (http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/69/05/) we'd assume that they are all skinny, of equal height and swordsmen.

I'll hand it to you, that is a great argument, but Blackbeard crew silhouete / weapon of use is more acurate I still believe my theory =)

As you said Doc Q doesn't have a horse and all, it is not so acurate ( but it's closer to reality than the shichibukai). I think that Oda already knew/did it kind of like, blackbeard center captain, laffite back spy, van auger gun sniper, burguess a huge guy, and then he decided to change the swordsman design.
That's what I believe though your point seems to be as reasonable as mine ( or maybe even more, but I'm a crazy fanboy that wants to have guessed something right) =)

form this pic:

i think it's quite obvious that Doc Q is wielding a giant sickle!
which is appropriate considering he is known as the angel of death or shinigami.

but i'm sure by now you all already realize that.

Yes it surely matches him. A "Death" Scythe from the Doctor of death.
