View Full Version : Discussion How does Naruto make you feel?

There's a common theme in Naruto manga where Naruto himself has the ability to change peoples emotions just by his conversations when he interacts with people. He has been able to been shown to kinda "convert" people to put it short to believe in his own beliefs.
But what about us? The readers of Naruto?
Has there ever been a chapter or story, or a specific page amongst the Naruto manga that made you feel different rather than just going along and reading the manga.
For example here is mine:
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/429/15/
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/429/16-17/
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/430/02-03/
Pretty much 429 and 430 is what I'm talking about. The feeling I had at the end of 429 and the thoughts of Naruto that built up while waiting for 430 and when 430 finally came out, how Kishimoto managed to show Naruto's arrival and end 430. It was a wonderful feeling and probably the first time I actually felt good while reading Naruto.
Just curious if anyone else cared to share perhaps the moments in Naruto that I guess touched you in a different way than usual.

I felt the same way he made Naruto the real hero. It was way different here though http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/24/20/

Yes. I think Naruto's path is completely unrealistic but if he was real I'd just let him do his thing anyway.

Well I have no special moments of Naruto, as a character. However I love so much these parts that makes me :o
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/402/12-13/
In spite of being cold and arrogant, he showed he had pain in his heart.

I do not what to say here but this good bye was shocking.

In general a like all the story about Uchiha brothers because we know that for at least once in his life Sasuke really loved Itachi and he was happy with him.

he was pretty charismatic in Part One, than Part Two rolled around and that was replaced with constant whining -___-

I darn love this scene... Sure to say that Kishi caught me by surprise here. Naruto as a character felt so real to me here. I said to myself, "only Naruto can think like this"

I dunno why, but Naruto's self-doubt really got to me. I mean, yeah, he doubted himself against Neji, but he perked back up after a talk with Hinata. He also realized what gave him true power and got the courage to go against Gaara.
But this... he went as far as to let the Kyuubi free. He even admitted that he didn't think he was a good ninja at all. This just made me feel a bit meh, and sad, kinda. This wasn't the Naruto I liked and fanboyed for, this was a crushed Naruto, broken Naruto. =[

This is undoubtfully the most emotional scene in Naruto which really made my feelings loose.
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/382/03/
The whole chapter actually... I wonder how many times I've read that one. Probably over double the ammount that I've read the chapter I've read second most. This whole chapter was just perfect for me, I felt so sad for J-man.
Sad for him dying, "Am I.... dying? Have I.... failed everyone?"
Sad for Naruto losing him.
Sad for him reflecting at his life as a failure. And the scene with Minato just made it perfect "I remember now... I named him...." Awww =(
In 4 weeks we have this chapter in the anime. OMG if they mess it up I'll never watch it again. And if they do it right it'll be even more emotional than in the manga.
But this was really the chapter that made me really sad. And it's strange because I rarely get emotional from reading manga :p
And then we have this: http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/450/04/
Made me happy.

Naruto's scenes always get me, that's why he's my favorite character. :P

These scenes only served to make his character feel more realistic to me. I always felt as if he had doubt in his mind, what with everything he's been through and how he was treated (if he didn't have it, he wouldn't be as realistic or relateable). He just hated to have it show when he was younger. Those pages as well as that one moment when he was training with Kakashi really stuck with me. I actually think it rounded out his character a bit. But that's just me.
Jiraiya is my second favorite character, so I have to agree with 3cmm. The entire Jiraiya-Pein thing got me.

Naruto's always had self doubt, but the training with Kakashi and his fight against Pain showed for the second time that he really did doube himself, that he didn't think he was the best or a great ninja. Those two moments were just some of the few with lot of meaning behind it in Part II, or rather, any meaning.

What made that scene a bit better IMO was Jiraiya changing his mind about being a failure, and actually getting the strength to come back alive to write a code, and all because of Naruto. The way he just revived himself after thinking about Naruto and not giving up just made the chapter awesome, truly showed what Naruto the character and Naruto the manga was about.

when i read this chapter:http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/439/01/ i listened to this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmijKjosplM&feature=related
everything was timed perfectly, the music matched with the panels and story and it was simply EPIC!!!!i nearly cried because of epicness:wtf
then there was also jiraiya's dying scene!

I know this isn't from Naruto the character, but still..
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/429/01/
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/429/02/
That speech of Pain's went straight into my heart. I want you to feel pain, to think about pain, to accept pain, to know pain. - my favourite quote of the manga. :beer
Oh, and chapter 436 too:
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/436/06/
all the way to
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/436/14/
Those Pain's speeches reflect my view of reality so well that it's almost scary.
Anyway, those are the moments that made the manga feel something really special to me :tem

Let me say this thread is awesome! h5!!
OK, here I go:
Naruto would never be able to convert me. And why's that? Because I, the real life person name Bruno, not the moderator patedecarne, has experienced many, many things in my whole life. I'd say that Naruto way to think and convert people, IMO, simply doesn't work. It's not like say that "hey, believe in a better world and let's save it!" would work.
For everything I've passed through, it's impossible to say that Naruto's speech or beliefs would work on me. I just believe our world can't be saved with a strong will or strong words, that's all. But this is just concerning Naruto.
But here comes Pain. Like the Closet Pervert has posted above, I also share the same view of Pain. It's almost I'm a pessimistic, but I believe that, if there's such thing as peace, we will only achieve it at the cost of many many lives, possibly after some third WW.
As a matter of fact, I can see Pain as a mirror of mine, and from all the chapters in Naruto, there are two pages that always give me creeps:
the first panel with Yahiko (http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/372/15/)
This whole page (http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/445/17/)
and this, the last panel with Nagato (http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/373/10/)
These panels are just, too perfect. IMO, they're exactly what our world is needing. Thanks to Nagato and Yahiko, I really could feel that there is someone else with that strong will to save what is important to us-in my case, my whole family. And just like Nagato, I'll do everything for them, no matter what kind of Pain would come.

Angry ...
The last 2 years, reading Naruto makes me angry more often than not.
I'm reviving this thread because it's way too awesome to be on page 3.
Another instance in Naruto that made me really feel with the character, that left me with a feeling of satisfaction is when Naruto was openly talking about being a jinchuuriki, hatred in himself and his weaknesses.

Naruto always makes me feel cool: there's an immence power in that charismatic blue-eyed blond always ready to get beaten to save the ones dear to him. I can't but feel proud of his unshattered will to relieve his world of hatered and of revenge. It that took away Sasuke, Naruto's parents, Jiraya and almost swept away Tsunade... Naruto knows what hate and revenge are and I pray he can stop those.
This made a great emotional and meaningful impact on me:

and especially this one

Naruto has a resolve which will bring up generations.

my special moments in naruto are mostly of those that show his maturity or those that show the maturity of his bond with sasuke despite being unrealistic or pushing common sense. why i feel different about these pages are because they are the very first ones that actually made me think "omg the boy has grown up" ->
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/307/17/
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/333/14/
and ofcourse this 1, it will always remain as my fav. naruto page

in only 1 page,i could live through another manga story thats called "jiraiya" . it didnt really make me feel any different about naruto but it sure made me feel very different about jiraiya so it counts : )

Not only Naruto, but of course Luffy have shown so much determination in their actions that it effected me in a way that I always try to never give up ever since I started reading those to mangas few years ago.

He makes me happy to see him the manga...except when he's training because those arcs suck.
I'm gonna have to go with the recent bridge arc (mainly This (http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/486/13/)), when he was talking to Sasuke. It really showed that he actually believes in what he says, even if he doesn't know the exact answer. Also he is willing to go against all odds (and comrades) for his nindo. And it made me like him (even) more. (before it was easy since all he had to do was save Konoha, which suited his buddies' agenda)
Though I've been rooting for Naruto ever since Sasuke became a douche AKA after Itachi died. That means after the Pein arc, not because of the hax powers Naruto received and random Pein bitchslaps. But because of his ideals towards friendship and .....mainly Sasuke.
I <3 bromance in my shounen.
Edit: I might have deviated from the thread topic. But I did point out the moment in which Naruto made an impact on me.
Edit2: pate has potential to be great.....evil. >.>

The part when our main characters were still kids, Reading Naruto made me laugh my heart out. It was so funny :amuse
Since Sas left the village, the story becomes so tense :blink... miss teh funny moments ...
Especially when Sas appears the tense is unbearable and after that, Naruto shows up (kinda like the "hero shows up in the last minute" thing) ...everything just brighten up and I feel so relief. Smt like this:http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Naruto/Japflap/484/17 and a bunch more of these scenes
--> that's how I feel when reading Naruto recently.
For the emotional disturb moment, it must be this:
http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/8481/itachiz.png
With all the flashbacks of Sas before that, Itachi's last words sound like he had just fulfilled all his promise that he would train Sasuke before by making himself Sasuke's target.
It's embarrassing to say this but I cried several times when reach this part already :")
Edit: Come for thread rescue >:D<

hard to put into words at this moment, but i when naruto impresses anyone with his shear will power and justu and they're left in awe.
it makes me happy to his character get recognition like that.

and of course there are other examples, but that one sticks out to me for whatever reason.

I've been a fan of Naruto since the beginning. At first it was the "people give me that very harsh stare, full of hatred" that kind of attracted me, I guess because of the fact that I kinda relate to that (not because I have kyuubi sealed in me :P), but I've had my share of pain in my life. But what I liked even more was when he tried to overcome every obstacle (yeah the whole "i won't go back on my word" was too idealistic for me) by figuring things out in his own way, and that never giving up is the sign that he has a lot of hope. he may be a rascal when he was young but he has that energy that makes people gravitate towards him.
the best part for me is the recent chapter when he defeated his evil self. even if he was never consciously aware of that part of himself (he may have denied and pushed it back to his subconscious), when presented by it, he knew by then the reason for his self-doubts and the possibility that people may not have complete trust in him. the only way to make people believe in you is for you to have complete faith in yourself. I guess that's confidence a-la Naruto. He knew he had the ability, but it won't be real unless he believed it whole-heartedly. and by facing his own demon, he can fully believe in himself.

In general a like all the story about Uchiha brothers because we know that for at least once in his life Sasuke really loved Itachi and he was happy with him.
I started reading the manga during the konoha invasion, so I got to read every single chapter in between the anime and the mangas time. So fortunetly for me I got to read the whole itachi/sauske arc in 1 day.
I can honestly say that I've never in my life wept so much over anything similar. Jeez I cried my eyes out just thinking of how good of a brother itachi was. Besides sauskes tears made a hole in my heart, which is why I understand what he's doing atm :(
besides, naru/sauske interaction here says it all:

Also the jiraya arc :'(

The mourning of Jiraiya had a great impact in me. Especially when Shikamaru says that "you will be called Naruto sensei", made me feel like Naruto himself at that moment. Awesome stuff.
