Amazing episode overall. The only downside is the animation. Personally I hate Pain's orange hair when it's colored like it was in the last scene. It's TO much orange, to bright. And the music wasn't at the same level as the last episode. But all in all a good episode. Great pace.

The next episode looks awesome. I'm glad the animation team took the chance to add in fight scenes where Kishi left holes. Looks promising.

somehow the top animators manage to find smooth and nice colors,always!

To give Jiraiya some consolation. Pain had to get rid of one of his hands which placed him at a further disadvantage. How do you fight a guy who already knows your techniques, you know so little about him and using ninjutsu and taijutsu is no use. You get your ass handed to you, that's what! :D

I haven't enjoyed watching Naruto anime this much since the "chase Sound 4 and fight Sasuke at valley of the end" -arc. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a Pain fan or because of the quality, but I hope this continues in the future :)

Good stuff, they went through it pretty fast but it looks like we'll see a bit on how Jiraiya does against 6 bodies with one arm missing.
Let's hope they don't show any abilities yet that could spoil his fight with Naruto yet, or that would bring down how strong he is. Though it's hard to imagine putting up a believable fight against all 6 bodies without an arm so I'm betting we're not gonna like it too much :(

I don't get it. Don't they see it themselves? When I see Pain's hair being so orange I instantly think "oh god, please change it!" Don't the animators see it? It's not that hard to not screw up such colors. Look at Ichigo, he has orange hair and I never complain about seeing his hair in the anime. If they make Pain's haircolor like that in his invasion arc I'm gonna be pissed, seriously :p He looks 10x less badass.

This episode was better than last week's, that's for sure.
Rather than have half of the episode in filler, this episode was able to be paced quite nicely with the 2/3 chapters in the manga.
Now for next week... Great animation next episode plus someone loses the fight.
The omake in this episode... Jiraiya acting all goofy, Naruto is kinda pissed.

I just watched the episode and its pretty good. I like how Jiraya manage to kill the three of them with the Genjutsu. He looked so happy he got them but after that he just lose his arm and six of them appears. Poor Jiraya :(

Was a great episode. The lighting was really well done when jiraiya and the frogs did their combined water/fire/wind technique. I liked the animation of that rasengan as well. Good episode.

I hope not. It would be horrible if they spoil things that affect later suprises, especially if it downgrades Naruto's power. Asura firing rockets from his fists is already abit spoiling, even if he shoots his fist later on in this fight. But if Deva uses ST it'll be really bad.

They'll probably show most of it, if they don't just shorten the ones we've already seen. I mean, it's shown the Great Toad Elder giving Jiraiya his prophecy at least 3 times now. So they might show like clips of the Minato flashback with him and Kushina. And the others, they'll definitely show. It's gonna be a pretty good episode, and then we're gonna get back to Sasuke for a while.

Imo the choice to show the Minato flashback before it should have happened could be viewed as a genius move from the animation team. The main point with the flashback is to show something Jiraiya forgot about, that he named Naruto. The flashback's purpose is to make Jiraiya realize that it is infact Naruto that is the real destined child. Because of that it was excellent of them to show it earlier without that particular and very important scene. In any regard it'll be a very powerful scene animated with the whole flashback context regardless of it having been showed before or not.

The fight was cool nevertheless, always great to see the anime extending the manga. The genjutsu was very well done, you could really feel Pain getting nervous (who wouldn't, stuck in a sewer and apparently thousands of frogs coming your way...)

Hmm, I wouldn't say he got nervous. Nagato had three more bodies up his sleeve after all, one of them being able to resseruct the ones being killed and another one being able to fight any opponent alone.
I rather see it as Pain's senses going haywire and crazy. He was being affected by an extremely powerful genjutsu after all, so they did a great job in illustrating how it affected him.

I agree though, the genjutsu was displayed excellently. It was just as I imagined it being, except it sounding like you said, like a thousand frogs.

Omg, one word: Hell yeah! Actually that was two. It's at Sasuke vs Deidara it begins being awesome again. After the fight it's pure joy, and seems to be continuing. The specials 127-128 and 129-130 are some of the best episodes up to date, then you have the legendary 131 and the good 132 that got out yesterday. Next one looks promising too.

Remember, Jiraiya may have lost an arm but the two toad sages can still fight and he still has some sage strength left. It will be enough to make it believable, especially since its not like Pain dominated the fight before. Actually Pain was putting pretty good pressure on jiraiya with the summons. Jiraiya was the one on the defensive until he went into sage mode. He couldn't attack even if he wanted to because pain was in the chameleon.

That damn dog was a pain in the ass for Jiraiya. If not for the dog, I think Jiraiya could have handled the others easily individually, much harder if they teamed up, but he probably could have beaten them just with Gamaken.

This is getting a bit off topic with the thread, but I recommend starting at Episode 113 instead. (Sasuke VS Orochimaru). Here is where Shippuden starts to get epic.
The anime sure is starting to redeem itself for the 20-something episode rating plunder that ruined Shippuden's reputation.

Nah, they ruined that scene entirely. Check episode 127-128 and go to a few minutes before the end.

Minato says to Jiraiya that he'd like to name his son after the character. Kushina comes around the bend and says "Naruto. It's a wonderful name."

And then Jiraiya says "You know that makes me his godfather."

And so forth and so on.

They completely ruined the emotional impact of the upcoming scene by spoiling it so early and out of context.

I really wish they hadn't made that episode out of order.

Holy shit! Seriously I knew it would be alot of blood, and even though I was expecting this it just stunned me. Crap, shit, Jiraiya! Manly tears will fall when the subs get out..

I'm also abit suprised they made it that grotesque. The latest Jiraiya episodes sure have shown alot more blood than previous episodes.

oh yeah 133 will cover 3 chapters despite the filler, the director is Yasuhiko Kanezuka (93, 101), and the animation teams for 135/136 will be announced next week
