By the end of the first arc this is one of the most brutal manga I've read. The first real fight had a nice gruesome ending. Good writing and great art help a lot.

I just read the first four volumes. It's spectacular.

That cult leader is the scariest character i've ever seen.

ITA, spectacular series. I was not expecting much when I started and had put off reading for a long time. And Mozu is an amazing character, she Asakura are my favorite characters.

I'm still shocked they became a part of the cult, I thought they would do anything to escape after the trauma of the first arc. Instead: completely brainwashed.

I'm going to reply to your spoiler without spoiling anything: I was completely suprised too.

I wonder if they will escape at some point. Somehow I don't imagine them remaining there the rest of their lives. The last translated chapter is so early in the series it's hard to tell what will happen.

What was the last translated chapter you read? There are 47 translated chapters out right now.
To me they seem pretty happy being apart of that cult. They were taught swordsmenship and given food and shelter and they seem pretty devoted to the cult leader. I think they'll be there for a while.

Since they've been brainwashed at such a young age I don't think they could be anything but happy.

Chapter 48 (http://sidoohproject.wordpress.com/) came out yesterday.

i don't think they've been brainwashed. i think they are only staying there because of the guy that helps them or just so they can learn how to fight. but its still a mystery now i think because some things don't add up quite well.
but i'm starting to like the story line alot.

Gen seems brainwashed. He was so little when he joined. He seemed very enthusiastic about the order when he left the village. I'm not so sure about Shotaro. I don't have anything to cite, but I feel like he is seeing clearly, and like you said, using the cult for somewhere to live, eat and train.

Well I do agree that Gen seems to like it more there, but I think Shotaro does too. Because right now that is the place where they are becoming strong. I think that when their training is complete or they want to learn faster Shotaro wouldn't hesitate to leave. He might have to convince Gen, but I'm sure he would go along with his brother.

Basically they have no bad feeling towards the place, but its not like they worship it hardcore like some people do.

That's what has been odd so far, what I'm looking for some explanation for. They should have bad feelings. They tortured Shotaro and tried to make him a human sacrifice. Both brothers were clearly traumatized during the first arc. I'm wondering if at some point, while they're in the outside world, if the brothers decide to abandon the village. On the other hand, for all the trauma, this is the first time they have been out of the village since. Between feeding them, teaching them, and training them Stockholm Syndrome must have set in by now.

yeah, i know what you mean. Seems quite the trouble but they stil have to stay in there until something happens or they are taken from there by that guy who brought them in and or find a way of getting their sword back from him.

More Sidooh!!!! (http://sidoohproject.wordpress.com/) Chapter 52 and 53 are out!

Great chapters! Gen slicing that samurai's arm off was amazing. His sword play and speed are brutal. This arc is quickly coming to it's climax, with the Americans firing on their own ship getting off will be a tight squeeze. There goal is now accomplished, at least. Quite a blow to the foreigners.

Chapters are starting to come fast again. Very exciting :)

The arc is finally picking up again! I actually liked the chapters of calmness with no fighting. Not sure if I can describe why without confusing people. Now, we finally get to see action!

Mozu is my favorite, and I like how she and SHo admitted their love for each other or something. Definitely an interestin romance to see. :3
