Well,at this point bad endings are expectable, though not desirable.
Which one would be the lamest of all the lame endings possible?

In my opinion, something open ended or the lack of an ending is one of the strongest ending possibilities gantz has and possibly the lamest.

A lame ending could be a panel with Oku waking up in his bed and saying: "OMG! What a weird dream!"

Or: Kurono, Katou and Cherry are at the end and the world is about falling apart and some gigantic Demon or Monster is about to kill their little Brothers/Girlfriends when Kurono, Katou and Cherry suddenly find their true inner power that transforms them into some shiny magic angelic warriors. With magic powers and their big Mechas they are now able to kill the monster and save the world. After this all the dead people get revived and Kurono, Katou and their Friends ride on a white Horse in the sunset.

Another bad ending: All the cool characters die, and the only survivor is Kishimoto!XD

Kato & Kurono's lived happily ever after the Kuronos defeated the final enemy by themselves...

Kurono 1 lives with tae and have kids while kurono 2 does the same thing with reika. The final panel is one when both kuronos along tae and reika watch the sunset.

Meh, i just hope 2 of the three(2 kuronos & Kato) protagonists dies...if that happens i would be happy whatever the ending is.

Kurono could teach the aliens to love, assimilate with humans, mate with them, and eventually in time their differences would be forgotten.

Can't believe i forgot to put the lame happy endings as poll options.

Personally I hate all of those endings. I guess the "lamest" ending would be if Gantz was all just a dream. I honestly can't imagine anything worse than that. Kurono gets into the final battle and he's about to defeat the 1000 pointer and learn all the answers to Gantz and then HE WAKES THE FUCK UP!!!

"Oh, was i dreaming? Oh well, time to go to skool AND BUTT-FUCK ALL THE READERS WITH MY MIDDLE FINGER!"

I would then rate Gantz a 0/10 and flame the internets until my death approximately 3 seconds later from an overload of "FUCK!"s rushing through my head.

Any sort of happy ending will fail quite hard. It needs to be gritty and sad. It needs to make you think and feel emotions for the characters.

I would be very disappointed, if many (or all) humans will be revived at the end of Katastrophe (but for that, humans/Gantzers have to survive it).
and of course Oku (or some other person) waking up and realizing, that it was just a dream.

kurono was considered the most advantageous weapon so kurono was mass produced(lol.. he was cloned) so the world was saved by a million kuronos.

Any ending where Hajime Muroto doesn't show up and fuck everybody's shit up. I'd also like for an epilogue panel to cut to Light saying "all according to plan". If this doesn't happen I'll be thoroughly dissapointed.

To me, I think basically every ending that doesn't involve the death of every main character (could be open ended for some, leaving death as the most probable or inevitable outcome) will be uninteresting.

An example of an awesome ending would be Kurono (just one) and Katou being the only survivors and cornered by aliens.

The way the anime ended

lol something religious like a god or something comes down and says if u believe, u will be saved. then the aliens die. but seriously tho a "waking up from dream" or open ended ending would suck bad

If it ended like the salaryman in the first mission imagined it, two people in suits and masks, in front of a camera, that would be the worst ever ending.

Another one with gantzman waking up and going wtf, why was I walking around naked??!?

I would laugh my ass off if Gantz was simply what Kurono saw in his mind during those last few seconds as his head flew through the air after he died.

Of course, this Gantz|Minus, and Kurono's death kind of kills this, I still think it would be funny.

it would also be funny, if the aliens succesfully invade earth and after they live their new life peacefully (or like the humans with Gantz balls and new missions), another Gantz-like-equipped alien race invades earth and kills the first invaders xD

I would be pissed as hell if that happened, but I would also laugh my ass off. Gantz races just keep re-invading Earth and the current aliens are like "Noooooooo. What is going on!?" and they invading ones are like, "We've had this set up for years. We are god." :p

then the current ones would be like, "fuck" then they would all be murdered. :p

but don't get me wrong. I would still be pissed. :mad

i dont get the stupid feeling you people get if a manga doesnt end how u want it to, i couldnt care less about the ending i enjoyed the manga up to that point i dont need to feel 'closure' with the manga, its a manga, not a catastrophe where evryone u know and loved dies irl, i can understand 'closure' then, but you enjoyed the manga until the ending why do you care so much. man up

Nobody said anything about the need of "feeling closure with the manga"(i even agree it is stupid fanboyism)
We are not bitching about the ending,we are merely discussing which is the worst possibility.

nah im good. and most people do feel like they need closure with the manga, i didnt say ur were bitching. just that this thread can be interpreted differently and one persons worst ending may not be another, i stated my opinion as being one not caring about the ending.

Though this thread was made awhile ago, the point I'm about to make still stands. At this stage in the manga, predicting the ending is kinda... lame in itself? I mean, Oku hasn't even given us an actual, tangible plot yet. ANYTHING could happen. Everyone's heads could just explode and the aliens win. The same could happen to the aliens for as much info Oku's given us.

But the "ZOMFGZZ it was just a dream" ending would be hilarious IMO. A fitting, whack ending for such a whack manga.

Needs a good climax. Ending's are important.
