Okay, so I'm planning on making a Pokemon doujin (called Pokemon Legends) based on the second generation games (i.e. gold/silver). I plan on doing everything though I wouldn't object to having some one take over on art (I'm a much better writer than artist). So you could say that this is also a plea for an artist. Anyway, I'm thinking of ideas for the plot and want to get some feedback from Pokemon fans and see if any interest is peaked. I'll give what ideas i have right now for the story.

Characters
Seishi Ishimura: 15 years old, born in Johto. Seishi is the main character and starts out in New Bark Town.

Jin Erotaku: 24 years old, born on Seven Island. He's a kind of mysterious character met by Seishi but is sent to aid Seishi in his journey to face the gym leaders and ultimately the Elite Four. Also... he's a perv. (I dont wanna reveal too much more bout him, as his true identity is somewhat of a twist, but not really :p)

Sakura Izumi: 21 years old, born in the Hoenn region. She's out for revenge. Her brother lost to a "heartless" trainer who defeated him in a battle and took all his money. She meets Seishi and Jin and decides to join them as she had heard that the this heartless trainer was in the Johto region.

Plot Ideas: The story follows the trio though out the Johto region and later to the Kanto region as well as the Sevii Islands. Seishi starts out by picking out a Totodile as his first Pokemon and heads out on a big adventure. As he is leaving Prof. Elm has a friend of his, Jin, join and assist Seishi in his training and his journey. As they leave New Bark, a red headed punk runs towards them and Jin trips him. Blaming the trip on a rock, Jin backs down from a battle with the punk but says Seishi would be more than happy to do battle. Seishi nervously enters into the fight, but has to have Jin step in and stop the fight before his Totodile is killed. The punk runs off, but first reveals that his name is Yensu. Sakura is later met.
I have other assorted ideas such as making the Pokemon battles more realistic such as Pokemon can lean more than just four moves, having blood and that the Pokemon actually die rather than faint. Also to make things shorter and easier, I plan to leave Team Rocket out and rather focus on the main characters and their friendships and troubles as well as their Pokemon battles. Also I plan on making minor changes to the gym leaders and Elite Four due to the plot and characters.

Well basically thats it. I hope that some Pokemon fans have taken interest and will respond with good feedback and hopefully also an artist will be interested in assisting me.

Thank you for your time,
Ralphie.

I've always wanted to read a pokemon story in which the unrealistic parts are addressed or fixed in a non-parodying manner. Some things you may want to think about-
Why only six pokemon in a party?
Wouldn't reaction time to random battles be better if the pokemon weren't kept in pokeballs?
If pokemon actually die in battle, can Nurse Joy revive them?
Why are pokemon trainers contractually obligated to fight each other?
Why are trainers obligated to giving money to the winner?
Will wild pokemon kill a trainer that has no more pokemon to defend with?
Why are the number of pokemon a trainer can use restrictued in battles with wild pokemon? If a charizard attacked me, I know I'd have as many guys on the field as possible.

I wish I could help you out with the art, but I'm more of a writer myself. Let me know if you ever get writer's block, I'd love to brainstorm ideas with you.

I like the idea of making it more realistic and pervy. More for older kids for sure.
