気取る is to pose, posture, or behave as.

Sforzando has styled himself the leader of the world since the War of the North.
We, here, are going to shatter his hegemony.


second line is largely correct, but shatter is a better choice of words than crush in this case.
last line should be correct ^^

Thank you! I hadn't thought of that possibility (I was think kedoru all the time, never considered kidoru). Certainly the whole thing makes much more sense now!

By the way, Sforzando is a country in the setting, that's why I was using "it" :)
