so I think negi will similar like with chachamaru (he could have created a soul for chachamaru so she was able to get pactio card) give back life to those who suffered from the "code of lifemaker"

This has to be the saddest chapter of Negima up till now. First Craig in last chapter, then Aisha, Emily, Tosaka and then at last it looks like the Chief are the one to disappear in this chapter.

Also i know it is meant to look sad but doesn't it look like Yue is going to kiss Emily in that last pic.

If I remember correctly, Nagi was originally from Earth (probably part of the reason why he was able to win during the big battle years prior), not the Magic world, so Negi would probably not be susceptible like it appears all natural Magic world citizens are.

Maybe thats the secret... and why the number of people that the governor guy wanted to save was so small... all of the magic world people are created by the magic... the only ones that aren't are the humans descended from denizens of Earth. So those are the only ones that had a chance at surviving.

yeah negi picked it up when she fell when the hall collapsed. you can see him holding the book in one frame. the disappearrances were pretty shocking. but we all know they'll all come back. it's like during the festival when they were shot into the future...

i guess it's an easy way to get rid of to many characters in one go. with all the adriane girls, dungeon hunting partners and ex-slaves, (and maybe later the old bounty hunters) it would have been too confusing. there'd be less focus on the mains girls and negi.

Except the people shot into the future were humans. These guys aren't. And there's no evident way at all to bring them back when it was stated beforehand by Gandolfini or Chao or Mana, or right after Nodoka was hit, by Chamo, that those bullets send people three hours ahead. This makes for good drama, too.

Except for the 'Chao' part, all the question you have can be answered to some extent.

First one about Negi. It has been stated in the story that Negi's father "Nagi" was from the Old World (Earth). Also he is the person who was able to defeat the "Mage of the Beginning". If he was also like the puppets of the MM, then he wouldn't have been able to defeat MoB, would he.

Next continuing to Negi's mother "Arika". She is form the line of the oldest Royal/Imperial family of the MM. Meaning in a way she is the descendant of the people who created the illusionary world of MM (in a way have direct ties with Old World). Also she is the user of the "Magic of the Ancients" which is powerful enough to work in a place effected by the "Magic Depletion Phenomenon". All this things points to that she not a puppet.

So, in the end since both of Negi's parents are not puppets, that means he is not a puppet as well, so he won't be an easy target for the "Code of the Lifemaker" unless it has some power to effect the Royal families as well but if Negi is effected by this then how would AA be able to escape from MM and who would be the one to defeat Fate.

Also we have to remember that not all the people of to MM are puppets. The people Godel wanted to save are those who have connections with the Old World meaning they are not puppets.

Next question is about Asuna. Similar to how Arika & now Negi is, Asuna is also from the Royal/Imperial lineage. Meaning she too won't be effected by the "Code" as well. Also the other factor regarding Asuna is that she has the rare "Magical Cancel" ability which was said to be used in the creation of MM.

As for what would happen to her in the future (other than from the effects of the 'code'), well that falls under the categories of question which can't be answered now.

Regarding Yue not being disrupted but her cloths did. Perhaps they are channeling Asuna's magic cancel ability in addition to Life Maker's Code. It has been shown in Vol. 8 that Asuna's magic-cancel can be channeled for other's use.

A good question for Ken would be the beginning of MW. Did LM create MW? Did LM originally come from Earth? Is LM from Earth and also related to the Vesper family? If LM made MW, where did the Vesper family get involved? How exactly are the Vesper family involved, and by connection Asuna?

LMC can rewrite the time-space fabric of MW. Which seems to include persons with a strong ties(born there? born of original creations of LM?) to MW.

and since KE are using this rewrite power all over the place it's making the notion of Asuna's power being channeled very plausible.

so Negi and Chisame now are aware of the magic world's final secret too? and no news on how AA members are dealing with their traumatizing experiences from last chapter?

sadly negi got another trama experiance to his childhood collection... which is Rakan disappearing.... this might lead for negis transformation from the mental pain of seeing Rakan die/disappear....

anyway maybe the last world secret is that asunas power will be used to get rid of all dolls/non humans... negi now witnessed rakan disapperance than he might point that asuna is captured somewhere...

maybe they need to get rid of most of population becouse their existance drains the magic world energy too much and so soon it would be too weak to hold it and all would be crushed.... just like with Ostia... too much power was sucked out from that area and the whole city fell down... so this might be that each person (non-earth related) drains some power from the magic world to exist but if there is too many people the world will break (overload ^^)

anyway the whole party should go to the ostia and rescue anya and maybe asuna if she is wrapped in some kind of chaneling chains (just like in that past chapters tower... where nagi picked her up).... since we dont know if the mage of beggining is asuna herself (after brainwash) or beign related to asunas cancel power (duo chaneling the power takes form of this creature [magic manifestation])

Reading this I was suddenly reminded of how Nagi's master passed away - the same way, seemingly, as Rakan. Just vanishing into white specks.

It makes me think these people might actually not be coming back. Or if they are, Negi must surpass his father somehow (his father defeated the lifemaker, but his master did not return).

What's happening in this chapter is quite simple actually.
Rakan was hit by the same kind of "rewrite" spell by the code of the lifemaker. Simply, by sheer willpower, he slowed down the process, and use his artifact as hands and feet while his remaining body is slowly disappearing.

Rakan doesn't say anything about the "truth of this world" to negi.

At the begining, kuu is talking about the path they have to take to escape.

They notice that chisame has a weird look on her face, negi ask her what is written on nodoka's book; chisame tell him to ready his heart and read it himself.

Then rakan appear. Says he's glad to meet negi one last time.
Negi is surprised by his choice of words...
Fate appear, rakan, noticing how negi is beaten up, ask negi to stay still.

Then the fight continue.
Basically, Fate ask him over and over why, even though he knows very well the truth of this world, he can still fight with this kind of face. Why, even though he knew this reality for around 20 years, he was able to walk around, to fight with this kind of face. That everyone else who happened to know that truth were cursing god and their fate, in total despair.
He's saying that the result is clear, that every move Rakan is making, everything is useless, that he should just resign himself.

Rakan says to him that he just doesn't care about the truth or the reality, because it has nothing to do with his own life.

In the end, there's hints that he's simply enjoying to fight someone as strong as Fate. Even if the result is clear from the start: Rakan can't win.

When finally disappearing, Rakan apologies to negi, saying that he wanted to wipe out his own ass, but that in the end, he couldn't do it at all, and that negi will have to bear th burden of it.
And that if it's negi, then he can surely do it.

Fate, probably mostly unhurt (he call rakan an illusion btw) and negi look at rakan finally disappearing (negi is screaming rakan's name).

Exit Jack Rakan.

Now what will Negi do? The smartest choice would probably be to escape, with the other students since he took so many damage while fighting Gödel but...


Btw, as a fan of yue, I'm quite happy about that OAD bonus with yue training to be an Ariadne knight <3.
Well, considering that what akamatsu sensei talked about (IE: something more with kodansha since the first OAV sold well ) was neither a movie, neither a series but simply one more OAD, it's rather disappointing in a sense. Still, that's far better than nothing ;).

well when Nagi lost his master he couldnt bring him back... but for negi it might be different becouse he has royal blood in him.... descendant of the first mage who had the power to create life...(the royal blood magic...
the mysterious power).... so maybe negi at the end will really be able to drawn up that power and bring those who got erased back to life in this world... (hehe if asuna has power to erase... than what if negi has the power to create life [just like mostly he forcefully created that pactio with chachamaru even throught it was imposibile for a doll to have soul.. so mostly negi created one soul so she could get her pactio)


time will show... but chapter after chapter the manga keeps going more and more into depressing atmosphere.... characters we met keep up dieing/disappearing..... so who next... princess Theodora... mrs furry...all people negi and the girls met...

I feel that negi might order his students to go to the gateport (where they might meet asuna and anya... the same fate girls vs negis friends).... while negi goes berserk in that dark form while fighting fate or the code... sicne we didnt saw what kind of power he has in that form.... and image of rakan disappearing right in front of his eyes will rather be a trigger to lose himself and go to the dark mode...

But it seems that the magic world people and MM are being casualties to K.E. before they could do anything to Negi and AA.

Edit:- Read the translation of this chapter by "cnet", it is a good chapter (though Raken didn't mention about Asuna to Negi). The way Fate kept asking Raken about knowing the truth was really interesting, is Ken planning a change in Fate's character.

The ending described for Raken was really a sad one.

I agree. After the arena fight Negi and Rakan grew closer. For Negi this is almost like losing an uncle.

Ken is really masterful at cliff-hangers.

It would be interesting to see negi, who is "life" fight out Asuna (in her previous memories - "Nagi's life"), to see if the current Asuna is going to have the willpower to return to her "new memory" state (normal life)...

If Negi can also return Yue to her original state, that would also be an interesting power, while the lifemaker's code attempts to rewrite history. And also, the reason why Nodoka is a dangerous person is exactly because knowledge is dangerous... she probably can access the information of how the lifemaker's code is presented (which I might add may have something to do with Asuna, because Tertium [or for the fans who forgot, Fate Averruncus] captured her)

As for Chao, she may not be a puppet after all if Nagi and the queen/princess are not (assuming that Negi also is not). Going back to what she said, she is said to have some of Negi's blood...

As for Rakan and the deleted others, they may still be moved through another dimension and either warped into Earth (like the magic gates), or could have gone in another dimension where the intangible are tangible, as Ken may not let it end this way... and if so, did Nagi go to that dimension?

These are just some of the plausible speculations that I have in my mind.

Yes, unfortunately I see it more likely that this will speed up the transformation of Negi, rather than slowing it down. Seeing as negi is pretty hot-headed and he will take Rakan's "erasing"* very, very bad. I see it as Rakan would be one of the few that could help Negi resist it, and now that he's gone, well.. we'll see what happens.

* Calling it erasing because I don't believe that he's dead, and neither are the others who's been... deleted/earsed by the "code of lifemaker" (I think the name was) and when he gets defeated, they all will return, however, it's a loong struggle until that point.

My Prediction for 279 is that we're going to see Yue and/or Nodoka snap loudly ... Yue having some succes in challanging Mana on the kill counter ,,, maybe followed by a period of angst from her since she've regained her memories from the shock and remembers her (proberly Pacifistic) Grandfather Philosopher, but in the end shruging it off since "what needs to be done needs to be done"

magic world is like in spirit/stral form... so normal people will live on mars than some drastic mater might happen and both worlds will melt together... the same it will create conflict... so chao wanted to say about magic and mages beforehand so the conflict would not start...

Negi is the great ancesstor... so it seems that he saved that world... but the problem chao is witnessing is reffering to negis children and grandchildren.... so negis fight ended... and so new problems will have to be faced by his kids and not himself.... and chaos is one of the descendants ^^ (so her problem/incident might happen after negis death.... but the key factor is that humans on earth were not aware of existance of magic so when they encountered it on mars it could have been seen as threat/enemy/aliens ^^ so wars started.... so by makeing people aware of it beforehand could have eased it a bit and so the war could have never happened)

time will show.... but I wonder if negi as the king (eldest royal blood) will be able to have few wifes XD so he would have many children and many descendants that will fight for the futre and protect next genereations ^^

If you are talking about the mage Nodoka is facing in this chapter. He isn't the MOB (Mage of the Beginning). He is just a mage of Fate's group (he can also be seen fighting "Al" during the war 20 years ago).

I cant see that even if Nodoka can retrieve her diary or has a 2nd copy on her (In earlier chapters the diary has not had the pictures at the top of pages it normally has) how mind reading can help her out of the situation. From what we have seen of the Shadow mage he is powerful enough to defeat her and Asakura with ease even without the Code of the Lifemaker.

This makes me think that Nodoka's plan is probably reliant on magic associated with knowing a person True Name, since in lots of mythology and stories knowing a persons True Name gives you power over them and in some stories this can even be over a persons life or death.

A 2nd related option would be that her diary (or other artifact book) has an offensive "control capability" we have yet to see her use.

Assuming that the next Chapter continues with Nodoka then I think the "battle" will be resolved very quickly in that her plan will either work straight off or she will be killed, and while Nodoka is top of my list of main characters who could be killed given the amount of side character deaths in recent chapters I dont think this will occur as there is no need for it in terms of plot and character development at this point.

Finally did anyone else note the parallel between Jack's last words and the insert text at the end describing Nodoka

Jack: When a guy keeps his gaze fixed right in front of him the world smiles on him.

Insert Text at end: Nodoka's gaze faces ever forwards... her strength will overturn despair!!

Again suggestive that Nodoka will defeat the Mage or at least last long enough for some help to arrive.

This is more than a wild guess. The power of negating magic is exactly what would be needed to dissolve magical creations, including magical beings. Plus, you have Jake Rakan coming back just to tell Negi that the "Asuna" with his girls is probably a fake. And we already know that Asuna is the key to the conspiracy to destroy the magical world.

But wait, there's more!

If Negi's mother is a native of the magical world, then Negi himself is vulnerable to Asuna's magic cancellation because he is, at least in part, dependent on magic for his existence. This means that Asuna, as the final boss, will have to destroy Negi--but Asuna loves Negi. That's the whole gimmick to the plot: No matter how brainwashed, Asuna in the end won't be able to destroy Negi.

Now while Asuna helping Fate or being the Mage of the Beginning is a possibility we should also remember that it has been seen that Fate's group have the power to use her power against her will (Chapter 69-71) so it is just as plausable that Fate's group are using an advanced form of this magic if not more so given the high number of COLM staffs being used at the moment.

It's not quite as simple as "are they a native to the magic world?" The magic world has a sizable population of real humans in it. Especially as her magic still functioned at the capital just before it fell, while pretty much everyone else's didn't.

If you are talking about the mage Nodoka is facing in this chapter. He isn't the MOB (Mage of the Beginning). He is just a mage of Fate's group (he can also be seen fighting "Al" during the war 20 years ago).

Well from the first spoiler pic, it seems that Nodoka is either aiming a kick at the Shadow Mage or is dodging his attack quite skillfully.
Also the way her dress is torn up in the 2nd & the last spoiler pics suggest that she at least put up a decent fight against him before she got captured.

Been looking around for the meaning of the Shadow Mage's name Dynamis

From what I can find it appears to be of Greek origin rather than Latin and is also written as Dunamis with the meaning that fits the Mage best being "will to fight" which was in regards to keeping hoplite Phalanx's in formation (appropriate for a summoner). It can also mean simply power, capability or force. Dynamis/Dunamis is also the root of Dynamic. Dynamo and Dynamite

It is also a secret name for the angel metatron and a Bosporan Queen though I have no idea if these could be of any significance.

Was also kind of a necessary chapter for Nodoka's development. For a character that, before this manga got reeeaaaally shonen, was basically the primary female rival, she's been very much in the background for a long time since. Hopefully this is Ken focusing back on the character relationships that he originally envisioned to matter in the story.

Agreed the diary is not destroyed as it survived petrification by Fate (only reason kept in that state was information retrieval) and IIRC we have seen Setsuna's and Jack's artifacts being destroyed or damaged without it impacting on their future use. The main question at the moment is does Nodoka have another mini-diary available or can she summon a replacement if needed.

As for the bookmarks I was wondering that as well, though she does have at least 3 and probably 4 available (has been able to read 4 minds at once on 2 occasions). It may also be that the headset has a secondary function to produce extra bookmarks if needed or extra ones can be crafted if needed.

I am also thinking that her being attacked by Dynamis was not chance but rather that he had been instructed to target Nodoka since he was aware of who she was, that she was considered a threat and he appeared to be waiting for her.

Ironically her statement about being able to bring people back also increases the likelyhood that she or other members of Ala Alba may be "taken out" at some point possibly by having the soul and body seperated so that the Soul ends up in "the eternal Garden" and the body is put in a coma before they are later "reunited". If this were to happen in this arc we probably would see Negi lose it and possibly kill the perpetrator of the act.

For the pictures both present in ANB's blog and the (very low quality) raws of 'RP' it seems that Yue & Beatrix both lose control of themselves because of Emily's getting erased and go berserk and attack the summoned puppets with full power. Mana saves them just in time and because of something she says Yue remembers some of her past (maybe she regained her memory completely though i am not sure). Then they all escape from there present location.
Now we are back to the people who have not appeared for the last 6 chapters i.e., the group of Chachamaru & Haruna. They seem to be still fighting that giant summoned beast and we see what the "Great Paru Sama" can do.

Also i do have to say that for a person who thought that she couldn't make a pactio sure got a hell of a powerful pactio artifact. Though we don't know what else it is capable of but if its only ability is the one that is shown in this chapter, then i don't see it getting activated that much because it can only be used in a large scale battle. Though i have to say that it is really the cutest mass-weapon of destruction we have seen till now.
But i think there is a chance that Chachamaru's artifact can be used for other purpose as well. As it is in the form of a satellite, i think it might help Asakura & Yue in the use of there artifact.

I wonder if Negi could use Chachamaru's artifact to boost his power using the Taiindou technique he used against Rakan, as the problem with the technique seems to be the time taken to set up the magic circle and tricking your opponent into using a suitable attack against you.

These problems could be allieviated to some extent with the use of Chachamaru's "Death Cat" as this could be targeted on a specific location where a magic circle is set up by a support team and Negi then uses this to power up.

Changing topic slightly Dynamis' Ctluthu summon appears to be at least 8000 in terms of power (from Rakan's scale) given that Chamo stated that Rakan fought the Hellas Ancient Dragon to a standstill and from the spoiler pictures it seems that the Summon is as powerful as it is (there is a brief battle state of dragon afterwards unclear due to image quality), putting it into Eva/Fate/Rakan territory, which makes the power of Chachamaru's Artifact into that kind of territory as well.

I still hold to the theory that Chao made her own ancestress. Somehow 'Maru becomes "fully functional" :amuse:p and her and Negi at the very least reproduce. If not get married.

However, no matter the relationship of 'Maru to Chao, depending on how long Chachamaru's body can live. She could very well meet Chao in the distant future. At which Chao goes back and creates 'Maru in a fusion of magic and science.

Well that fact didn't stop "Krillin" from Dragon Ball series from having kids with "Android 18" did it. And i heard that "Ken" is a big fan of Dragon Ball series.

But the fact is still different as "Android 18" from DB series was half human & half robot, whereas "Chachamaru" is a complete robot (more specific term would be a "Gynoid") made with the combination of both magic & science (though her background is not completely known so maybe she has human parts as well).

so arika learned about it and killed him XD.... anyway I guess the girls might be connected to the previous war.... like each family took a part in that wars... they knew nagi and arika.... then they had their own children that ended up beign put into 1class

I guess they could have done that like few children from Ala Rubra squad fathers... while rest is more like guards for them (Negi, Asuna, Kanako [3 children connected to royal family or someone from the ala rumbra squad]) while rest was placed as best suited warriors and people able to learn magic...

so for me i think the satellite was crated by chao back in the mahora fest, and this pactio gave chachamaru chao's remaining inventions; and can summon them from where ever they are. in the event of the satellite, it was summoned from earths orbit (prob had some cloaking field knowing chao). Kinda like Jack rakans pactio card, how he can create any weapon/ armor he sees fit. in this case an orbital cannon.

Now they have started using water-marks on there raws it seems and this would surely cause the scanlators and at few point the only translator of MSN "Cnet128" some problem in cleaning and translating (i found 11 pages in the 18 page manga where the water-mark is placed in such a way that its covering the dialogues) the raws if i am correct.

So, in short Negi would need to know how to use his "Magic of the Ancients" power and the only one who could tell him about it is Arika.

It should also be noted that 496 is the sum of the numbers 1-31 (Pupils in class 3A)

Looking at the spoiler pics it appears that you are correct about the name. One thought is that given that Asuna's name on her card is incorrect perhaps the name given on a card is not a persons "true name" but is an aspect of the design of the magic circle i.e. Chamo writes down Master: Negi Ministra: (blank) in Shiori's case

Well thats what i guessed would have happened until Kotaro made the pactio with Natsumi.
So unless Ken has decided to make some of the people of Negi class have more than one pactio card (like Setsuna), only then would he make Negi have pactio's with all of 3-A.
But looking at how the story is going, i would say that some of his class students would be making pactio's with Kotaro or someone new all together (i can see "Modoka" & "Chizu" making pactio with Kotaro instead of Negi).

By the way, in many ways is 496 suited up for negi. It is the first "perfect number" in mathematics, and since it is a sum of 1-31, that would also make perfect sense for negi to have that card.

Aside from that previous comment, if Shiori decides to betray Fate, then she will have the power of 2 pactiones (Plural of pactio in Latin), where the first will help against fate in disguising herself as a member of fate's group... or something else may happen (like a disappearing shiori). and if that's not enough, Anya and Asuna are trapped in Fate's clutches making Akamatsu's research on this topic very interesting. A lot of hard work and surprises...

nah I guess its simply that Negi doesnt know Shioris name (shiori) as he was makeing the pactio.... well negi kissed fake asuna (as he said Asuna-san) and than was supprised after seeing shiori "Who are you"

So you guys planning to continue doing MSN chapters again but your releases would come out on a slower basics (thats what i understood from what i read in enigma forums).
So, do you people have any plan on releasing a few other chapters like 280, 281 & 283 because the people who scanlated them were a bit to fast in there releases to notice that there were some errors or missing parts in the translations which were corrected later but they didn't release a v2 containing the corrected parts (though it is not that big of a problem as they did a very good scanlation work).

Also i think it would be better if you people don't use raws from "Raw-Paradise" for scanlating because there raws have become really terrible & also the fact that they have started to use watermarks on there raws (which they are doing randomly) which is irritating. Better keep using "Rena-chan's" raws like you did for ch 282.

other option is that the ostia tower is acting like a catalyst.... so if asuna is located inside it.... it automaticly starts the eraseing power (the bright light)... so even if asuna doesnt know about or does nothing the power is activated till asuna gets out of there....

The last time, RP did a mistake in releasing there raws, they posted the raws which they get on time but they did a mistake of putting a "don't share link" part of the uploading site & some guy used it & deleted the file of the MSN chapter along with another manga's chapter. Later they got the raws from the other place because of which they couldn't use the watermarks on that one. But you are right that there was a bit of a quality difference but it was on a minimum level.

As for the WhiteWings, they didn't release the last chapter, it was done by 'A.H' which was good.

this look is called diffusion its a filter in photoshop to help blur and fill in the edges of pixels, however when doing this it is suppose to be done in a 2 layers so you can control how much of the "glassy look" comes through.

I don't think it would be like a super vampire as they are totally considered a totally a different species.
If Negi manages to get over the problems of ME then even if he remains a human he would still be a being higher than a human. He would become a true successor of darkness & a being totally in control of the infinite powers of darkness. He wouldn't become a different species because each species has there own unique powers and Demons & Vampires are originally being of darkness to begin with so it wouldn't be that special..

I agree, my interpretation is Fate is just a program set to run near the end of the magical power supply to lessen the shock of the end of the illusion. It may be seen as the only way to let those who are Illusions to exist in some form beyond the end. Echo's of Negi's having to do evil in his path to do good speech. And poor Luna, to be dumped by Fate once he is finished with her just because she will vanish with the rest of the illusion.

From what i understand, he didn't identify her because by the time the present Fate became activated, Asuna was already sent to Mahora and from the memories of the previous him's, he would not have been able to identify her at first glance because she has grown in physical age. But it didn't take him long to identify her once he properly understood about her powers during her & Negi's fight against him before Eva entered the battle.

If you mean the part which Eva pounds Negi's head to the ground...she pretty much says that:

Eva: I am gonna make him go berserk. You (Setsuna) girls will help out, too.
Negi: Ma...master...
Eva: the power of the dark (ME?), after all, is just the dark half of yourself that was cut off. Boy's problem is the fact that his root of power and self are all from "that side". It's not enough to just accept it; he has to find a way to grow on and get used to it. I don't know the way, and nobody will be able to help you out, neither. You have to find it yourself! It's your choice to succumb to the power or be able to control it!!

Negi in this form, apparentlly, is more powerful than a mid level boss monster...

By the way, Luna is way too cute here. As Negi is about to leave, Luna grabs his shirt and ask him to wait. After Negi tells her that he will return to talk to her more about some questions. Luna answers with:

Luna: Ye..yes. Gladly. Um, umm, later means, when?
Chisame: (Gladly!?)
Negi: When? Ah, it wouldn't take long. I will be back shortly.

One correction. Eva wasn't born withdarkness affanity. I forget which volume it is but she was turned into a vampire by someone on her 10th birthday.

Magia Erebia was supposed to be Eva's personal skill. It was never designed, nor was thought of as letting anyone else using it other than Eva. So "side effects were expected" (by Eva). Just that Eva didn't think that ME would match with Negi so well.

I agree Negima is getting more and more interesting. It's probablly my most waited weekly comic right now (of course Luna has a lot to do with it too, xD).

The code of the lifemaker only affects the illussory beings of the magic world. Negi only needs the master key to bring back those that were erased.

Yes the CLM cannot harm Negi. But Fate could regenerate himself without limit, as was seen with Fate's fight with Rakan. It does not matter how powerful you are if your opponent will come back in a second.

I think Negi in his new state, if he pulls through, he will level with Fate. This being said Fate is technically a puppet. So Negi would actually have to level with Dynamis (when Nodoka asks what his name is).
I'm guessing this transformation of Negi's will have a big outcome for later chapters.
