Is that the full list? Looks small :/

Arakawa and Giant Killing are must see. I'll probably watch Maid - sama too. Cute manga, nothing special but entertaining. Shiki is a maybe, I found the manga a bit dull. I'll try it anyway.

Wait Arakawa is by SHAFT. No way I'm missing it now O_O

It can't be the full list because it doesn't have Ookiku Furikabutte Season 2, and that was announced about a month ago. It does seem awfully small, but there's probably still some unannounced shows.

Meh, too much moe... The only series that interest me are 1931 and SHIKI. Arakawa could be good, but SHAFT has done average series in the past (I'm looking at you Dance in the Vampire Bund).

Its probably a good thing though. That way I'll watch less anime :).

I'm surprised that you guys aren't talking about BRS, its by the guy who made Haruhi. It has a pretty high chance of being good, that and Angel Beats as well.

Xadyu
January 30, 2010, 10:33 AM
Only looking forward to the new Ring ni Kakero season. Giant Killing is interesting too, but it's made by Studio Deen, and I don't like them.

The rest is either uninteresting, lame or I don't know it..
I'm curious to the full list though..

lol I just came across the Summer anime preview that was posted on 2chan....

JESUS CHRIST, UMINEKO CHIRU IS ON IT. BURN IN HELL DEEN, JUST BURN IN HELL!!!!!!

Crude
January 31, 2010, 07:44 AM
I don't actually think that Deen did a bad job on Umineko, animation-wise at least, but yeah, maybe it would've been better had there been another studio animating it. And if BRS is by the guy who made Haruhi, I might be interested!

LilaChan
January 31, 2010, 08:42 AM
^ The guy worked on Haruhi, but Yukata (I have no idea why people calls him by his given name, possibly because it's more moe?) wasn't the 'main' director. Haruhi's famous Hare Hare Yuukai and God Knows is done by him. Also, he's just the supervision director for BRS (which I think he mostly just gives nods or shakes), there's another director responsible for the actual direction of the anime. Kannagi is a good prepresentation of what he can do, completed with a dancing opening. I hope Yukata works on Tonari no 801-chan...

Hakuoki looks exactly what Studio DEEN would work on...bishies...lots of bishies. I really can't wait for more Oofuri and Hetalia (having no Hetalia fix for the past couple of weeks made me dead).

Crude
January 31, 2010, 10:50 AM
Oh... I thought it BRS was written by the same guy who wrote Haruhi. Oh well...

CBlitz

it still looks good though. Its been getting a lot of hype, though hype is not always a factor in quality. I'll still looking forward to it.

I'm definitely am looking forward to BRS. I saw the trailer and was blown away. The art style is fantastic.

I know nothing on these series though, haha. 1931 looks interesting. Giant Killing I might check out, Yojou and Hakuouki too. Aarkawa to kinda balance things out with something romantic. Haha.

Xadyu
January 31, 2010, 11:12 PM
Could somebody tell me what the anime 1931 is about? Don't ask me why, cause I don't know, but it intrigues me. The picture is mysterious and the name is so simplistic and yet interesting.. (Yeah, I have a thing for numbers).

Maybe I'll pick up Mayoi Neko Overrun too. I'm reading the manga too and it'll be a nice change of things in my rather serious line-up and the never-ending anime's (like One Piece, Detective Conan etc. etc.) I'm watching at the moment.

I was going to wait and comment until they updated a chart with a short summary but what the heck.

Giant Killing is going to be a must watch, I will read first then gripe on the anime on how they changed the story,
1931- I'm just going to watch it because of the cool title, me hopes it's going to have a setting in, guess what, 1931. I do like historical animes but not many pick ones from the this era.
Mayoi Neko Overrun - I'll watch the first episode just for fun, there's no crime in trying. Most likely I'll drop it, just too many to keep up with.

That's what I hope too, I have a thing for historical events. If it's in books, movies or other media types. I find it fascinating, but I've never seen any from the '30's. Until now it's a must-see for me, let's hope the summary will keep that the same..

LOL at Giant Killing being good, you all do realize that its done by DEEN right? Though I'll watch it anyway >_>

I'm keeping an eye on:
Angel Beats
Arakawa
GK
1931
BRS
Shiki

although the Haruhi movie hits theaters in Japan, we probably won't get it till October or something

Xadyu
February 08, 2010, 10:41 PM
Arakawa Under the Bridge's picture on the second chart just made it a whole lot more interesting for me, haha.

But for the rest, it's still the same as I said last time. Even though I haven't said the movies yet, but that's obvious for me, Conan and Gintama. King of Thorn sounds interesting, but that's a name.. What's in a name?

Mago has not been confirmed as a spring anime. It seems likely, given when it was announced but there is a possibility it won't come until the fall. That ANN is not listing a cast or studio is a bad sign for spring release. We'll see though.

The preview (http://www.kingofthorn.net/jp/index.html) for King of Thorn looks amazing. Great manga, can't wait till the movie's subbed :)

Marvel teaming up with Madhouse for Ironman should be interesting. The teaser trailer looked pretty good[here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_ej7ZlS2oQ)].

Other than that, Gundam Unicorn is the only other one that I'm looking forward to.

Galth
February 11, 2010, 12:14 PM
Hmm, been a while since I posted in here...

Series/OVAs/films I'm mostly looking forward to include:
- Gundam Unicorn - Of course!
- Black Rock Shooter - Mostly because of the hype, but the trailer wasn't anywhere near impressive, so it'll probably only satisfy in the 'character design' category.
- King of Thorn - Iwahara Yuuji, as anyone who ever talked with me should know by now, is my favourite manga artist, and King of Thorn one of my favourite series. I had been looking forward to this film since it was first announced... I even considered travelling to London for the premiere, but I missed that opportunity now. Ah well, we'll just wait impatiently for the dvd release. >_>
- K-On! - Just because. I'm not sure how entertaining it'll be, since I've also fallen victim to moe overdose a few months ago, and can't enjoy it like I used to. But I still feel obliged to at least check it out. =/

Holding out on the rest since there's a lot not confirmed yet...

The preview (http://www.kingofthorn.net/jp/index.html) for King of Thorn looks amazing. Great manga, can't wait till the movie's subbed :)

It had already been: it even premiered in Spain and England. You know: before it entered japanese cinemas, what the hell? :p

let me see...it's a real darn big list.
but not much of it is interesting, at least to me.
Alright...here, is what I'm gonna try watching/will watch.

Iron man- Just because it's a Marvel+Madhouse production, it should be worth my time OR it could fail badly, cos american animation and japan animation together might not be as sucessful as they thought..and yeah, theres an Iron man 2 movie comin out this year. I don't even like him as a hero to start off with, but I'll watch this, to see if it is sucessful or will it fail.

RAINBOW-NRNS- I have a tack for this kind of story, so it's basically a anime saying how seven teenagers suffer in the world. Not sure I'm right, but it looks like a dark anime, and I love dark anime. And it looks like it's close to reality too, well, whatever.

Heroman- I read the manga, so its the right thing to do to watch the anime duh?
By the way, do they even have enough material for this shit?
oh and Stan lee? For real?!
Wow, why would he be interested in uh...toy robots? Anyway, this anime will be good for me to spend my time, wisely...probably.
OH AND WAIT, IT'S BONES the same studio who did FMA Brotherhood.
Now, that's a must-watch.

Ichiban Ushiro no Dai Maou- No reason, well maybe because the main character looks so shounen, and probably becos magician is mentioned there and the "Devil King" too.
the theory is kindda old, but well..since it looks okay, I'll give it a go.

Working!- Slice of life, looks like a comedy anime. I need something like that from the stressful daily life. Hopefully it will make me smile more. And I think I saw a sanji-look-alike there...
Well A-1 is doing this, so it'll be worth at least 2 episodes of my watch.

K-ON- Another anime that I need to watch to make me smile more, oh come on the girls are just adorable and their songs well, are cute...I guess.

and for the OVAS.
I'm not interested in any of them, except for One piece's
but since it's a recap...but who cares? I'll watch anything OP.

Oh yeah, sorry for the long list.
just let me end it with this...

WTF?! GUNDAM SANGOKUDEN?!
THAT'S BS MAN.

LilaChan
February 12, 2010, 04:35 AM
I think the anime that I look forward the most would be Black Rock Shooter, since I adore Supercell/Ryo's music (yes, I just happen to be looping Melt). The designs and animation looks good to me, a little twist with the moe style. I quite like how Yukata's studio tried to mimick Huke's colouring style. I was the one who hyperventilated when I saw the crappy LQ stream of Animelo 2009...I hope this can replace Durarara! when that finishes.

I can stomach 1 episode of K-on a week, so I'll look forward to watch something brainless. Angel Beats seems like something I will love when I watch the first episode, but by 4th episode I'll would have dropped it. So I'll see how would that keep me interested. Same thing with Kaicho wa Maid-sama, I probably wouldn't be overly absorbed into the show.

its still a rumor, but if it turns out to be true, than i expect OVAs. Though some scenes in EP5 won't make sense without knowing the truth behind the epitaph

Hell yeah, Heroman has the potential to be awesome. An original action anime by BONES with Stan Lee? I'm sold

Iron Man. The trailer made it look TTGL good.
Angel Beats - Just because its Key/P.A. works collaboration
Heroman - Bones x Stan Lee
Arakawa Under the Bridge - The chart picture looked interesting.

It would be nice if one or more of the other announced shows surprised and actually turned out to be different in a good way.

Instead of the Moe-blob-waifu saturation that is currently been happening in earlier seasons.

Yeah, a Gundam 00 movie was originall planned for 2010, though I personally expect it to be pushed back to 2011 instead... (since Unicorn was pushed back half a year as well...)

Also, if I'm not mistaken, a Gundam Seed movie is also still in the works...?

http://mottohadeni.net/blog/2010/03/25/spring-2010-anime-season-guide/

I liked this spring 2010 guide, since it's more about seiyuus+music then the usual summery.

A list of spring 2010 anime that I find noticiable.

Black Rock Shooter
-I always loved music by Ryo/Supercell, when I saw the crappy cam preview from Animelo 2009, I wanted to see this straight away.
-The preview BD/DVD looked good, too bad it's a 50 minute OVA.
-Kana Hanazawa and Miyuki Sawashiro as the main characters? Yes please.

Angel Beats!
-Key? P.A works? Looks good to me. The summery looks kinda meh...but I still look forward to this.
-Lia and Maeda Jun are working on the music? YESH...
-All star cast list with Kamiyan playing the main character? Thank you P.A works.

Arakawa Under the Bridge
-Weird SHAFT show...I love those random effects that SHAFT. Lets see how weird this would be. I hope they wouldn't run into time management problems again ~_~;;
-Maaya Sakamoto? She barely did any voice work, so I'll definitely watch this for her. Kamiyan is honestly SHAFT's favourite seiyuu. The cast list looks great <3

B-gata H-kei
-Looks like one of those weird otaku shows I always end up watching once a year. Last year it was Kampher (or however you spell it) the year before it was Rosario+Panty.
-Yukarin playing a slut? Ur...interesting? Horie Yui, Hanazawa Kana and Kobayashi Yu in the same show? Wow moe overload...with yandere-ness attached.
-Elements Garden on the music sounds pretty interesting, I enjoy the songs they write for Nana-chan. I'll see how the music turn out.

HEROMAN
-It sort of screams 'I might be one of those master piece that would be remembered forever or I might flop and everyone forgets about this weird crappy show'. You know...like Basquash...
-I'll watch it for BONES.
-The animation was BEAUTIFUL in the trailer. Must watch first episode for the eye candy at least.

Hetalia: World Series
-OF COURSE I'M WATCHING THIS. I love this series and I will continue to love this. I am a loyal hetard <3
-The first episode looks promising with the strips it chooses to animated, chibi!Prussia <3
-Looking forward to the new theme song, despite I still loop Marukaite Chikyuu...looks like we're ending up with 19 different versions of it right now.

Hime-chen! Otogichikku Idol Lilpri
-I'm a mahou shoujo freak, so I'm going to take a look at the first episode.
-Looks like a giant advert for Hello! Project again, no thank you.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaoh
-This show screams 'I'm crap'. Honestly. I hope it can be one of those it's so bad it's good...but right now it's leaning towards it's so bad it's horrible.
-It has a pretty strong cast, I'm interested wiht Takeshi Kondo, I never heard him outside of KHR. Takeshi Kondo is Artland's favourite, they already cast him for three characters in KHR.
-The trailer screamed 'I am the crappy fanservice show that attempts to have a plot'. -sigh-

Jewelpet Tinkle☆
-WHAT?! They had Mamo-chan for the last season...and now FukuJun? Too bad the last season bore the hell out of me with only the first episode...
-Just another Hello! Project advert...

K-ON!!
-I managed to watch the whole of the first season weekly. I probably can stomach some moe each week.
-Hopefully more catchy music and some brainless comedy.
-Eye candy please ~ KyoAni fangirl here.

Kaicho wa Maid-sama!
-Potential to be the next Ouran. J.C.Staff have a decent track record, so it shouldn't turn out terrible.
-The staff list looks good, most of them have worked on shows that I enjoyed.
-/sob the drama CD cast got changed... -is not happy-

Ookiku Furikabutte~Natsu no Taikai-hen~
-YES! More Oofuri, the first season sold like hotcakes despite it's a sports manga. Of couse eventually they'll make a 2nd season.
-Hopefully this time round I actually somewhat understand baseball better and I can enjoy the show more.
-With the same strong cast...I definitely look forward to this <3
-The trailer looks great. The good o' Oofuri. It's produced in HD this time round, hopefully they'll release BDs.

Senkou no Night Raid
-I went and watch the trailer just check it out since HIMEKA is doing the ending
-Namikawa amazed me. I never knew he can do an uncle voice...amazing. I thought Romano from Hetalia and young-certain-character from FMA:B was the deepest he can go. I am truely amazed by this guy's voice acting (but he can't sing).
-The Shanghai setting is interesting.

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru
-Haha, the semi-BL series. Apparently the BL in it is similar to Kyou Kara Maou. So I guess it's fine...
-Great cast list too, with all the fujoshi favourite seiyuus. Of course Kamiyan and FukuJun are in this...but where's OnoD? OnoD is in this show, my bad.
-ITS BY J.C STAFF AND NOT STUDIO DEEN. YESH, it might actually be decent!

WORKING!!
-A nice light moe comedy series in a family resturant. Sounds like a perfectly fine setting.
-A.1 Pictures meaning some nice animation.
-Kamiyan, Ono-D and FukuJun in the same show? YESH. The male seiyuu side out shines the female seiyuu side...Why are they hiring fujoshi favourite seiyuus in a moe series? Who knows...

I have no idea which show I am the most excited about. I guess it's Hetalia, Studio DEEN will continue to animate this till it dries up. Doesn't look like it'll dry up any time soon. Oofuri II would definitely be on the top of my life. The animation looks stunning in high definition. With an awesome cast with lovable characters. Kaicho has a good staff list, but I have a feeling that would just be the manga animated. Working and K-on would be my moe moe brainless comedy shows of the season.

Oh my...Kamiyan is in 6 new shows this season...he's on a roll after Durarara's Izaya. FukuJun is doing well with 4 shows. Kana is also in 4 shows, I can't wait to hear more of her moe moe voice. -sob- There's no Nana-chan at all, she always voices a main character in a crappy show per season and a minor character in a good show. I guess she was busy during the winter for Kohaku and Live Acadamy, hence she didn't have time to the auditions. Hocchan and Yukarin are barely in any shows either, I guess they're all busy with their music careers.

I still have Heartcatch Pretty Cure for my weekly dose of Nana-chan <3

Takahashi Hiroki isn't in any new shows...-sob sob-

-edit-

Takahashi Hiroki is in one show, 'The Animal Conference on the Environment '. Which is a children's anime about the enviroment, meaning I have absolutely no interest in this show (I rather watch a moe moe panty shot series). I don't know if my fangirlness is enough...Well if it waas Nana...then my fangirl power might be enough to drive me.
[hr]
Ookiku Furikabute - Natsu taikai hen
-Good o' Oofuri is back.
-Everything is the same as the first season except the animation is produced in HD.
-Beaufitul animation, music, voice acting and the opening is really enjoyable
-Most likely the best show this season for me.
-This would remind as one of the most underrated show in the westen fandom. Japanese seems to love it.

Kaicho wo maid sama
-Good o' shoujo.
-Everything about this is average, but I'm a sucker for shoujo comedy. I really enjoyed the episode
-Watercolours backgrounds <3
-The ending resembles a BL anime opening..-cough-

B Gata H kei
-I haven't seen the full episode yet. Skipping through scenes here and there, it looks pretty bland. Yet I managed to laugh.
-It entertained me in a very weird way....

I've read the Heroman manga (3 chapters) and I wasn't too impressed with it. It looks more like a Ben 10: anime style (but with crazy animation) I think this would do well with the American audience instead of Japan. I hear the story will progress deeply later on. So, when the story gets interesting, please PM me, anyone.

Heroman
-I enjoyed it. Simple, but it's done well.
-Everyone should watch the first episode just for the animation, honestly.
-Despite the setting is in America, the characters act really Japanese. The siscon character felt really out of place. Maybe I'm not used to a siscon jock...
-The main character is like the most trap-ish not-trap I have ever seen. Honestly. I'm going to draw him in a cute lolita dress now. Don't judge T^T
-It has all the potential to be the next Guren Lagann, honestly. It's not like Guren Lagann first episode was any better, it only got better after that happens
-I hope Joey actually does something later on, even if he looks like a girl, seeing him just using a specialised iPad is pretty yawn inducing.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaoh
-This is honestly MUCH better then I have ever expected.
-The animation was pretty darn good, the execution was pretty good, the seiyuus did a great job and the opening is catch in both the animation and song. The male lead was done quite well despite the whole show is quite generic.
-It doesn't take itself too seriously, I guess that's why I enjoyed it.
-The fanservice was surprisingly well timed. Unlike Rosario+Panty.

Jewelpet Tinkle☆
-I only seen the opening.
-What do you mean this isn't aimed at otakus? I see megane, nekomimi, grade A zettai ryouiki and a diabete inducing opening with terrible vocals.

Working!!
-Well animated 4-koma anime. The animation is really nice, very smooth and high framerated.
-Despite it's moe, it's not moe-in-your-face like K-on.
-There's ACTUALLY an almost 50:50 male to female ratio in a moe series!
-Did I say OnoD and Kamiyan voices those two guys...yeah...I'm looking forward whether the fujoshi swallow them two or not. You can't blame the fangirls...OnoD and Kamiyan voiced Izaya and Shizuo in Drrr!
-The opening is catchy. The sequence was a mixture between Azumanga and Hidamari Sketch.

Lila, why didn't you say the ending in Heroman was done by FLOW!?!? That was the highlight of the episode, I can't wait for the full version of Calling. <3 They are really making it clear the setting is in America with all the flags. Joey looks like a girl to me, he needs to be more manly. Out of all the characters the teacher has the craziest red hair, and I thought they wanted to be more realistic. I liked the manga chapter 1 for than episode 1. The animation was fun and all but this series will be a last resort of boredom for me to watch. *replays to ending just for FLOW*

edit - Already found the PV for Calling. :spaz

^Because I couldn't careless about mainstream jpop/rock -cough-

Jokes aside. Actually...it's not a joke...it's true that I don't listen to mainsteram japanese music....

I do like what I have heard from Flow (Naruto, Code Geass and Eureka 7). But this song didn't really capture me. They're pretty good and consistant as far as I can tell.

Joey looks like a girl to me
I swear BONES designed him as a girl to attract otakus. Searching Pixiv on Heroman is amusing...you milage may vary.

K-on II
-Eye candy <3 The scenary porn is as pretty as ever, the frame rate is amazing as awalys. Thank TSB, finally airing in 16:9? About time.
-It's actually less moe in your face and just geniunly cute.
-The characters actually seem more logical this episode...that's maybe why it doesn't feel like moe in my face.
-Yui's guitar playing at the begining was a nice touch.
-The new opening had mixed opinions. I liked it myself, sorta weird and catchy. The lyrics are faster then Moteke Sailor Fuku...
-The new ending song was kinda average. The sequence was a little more fresh compared to Don't say Lazy. I want Mugi's costume...

Transformers Animated
-This isn't anime, just a Japanese dub version of the cartoon
-Reason I downloaded this? I haven't even seen the Hollywood movie.
-All because of Jam Project, they're doing the opening. Awesome hotblooded song. Nuff said.
-So I played it, then then I heard TAKAHASHI HIROKI doing an intro during the opening. I fangirled.
-Then then I skipped through to the middle. Guess who I heard? WAKAMOTO THE LEGEND! Seriously...ALL HAIL BRITIANIA. Opps...wrong series
-Then I skipped to the credits. F*CK. What's up with the cast list? Is this a BL drama CD? The cast list resembles a BL drama CD more then a morning cartoon...
-Takahashi Hiroki, Kishio Daisuke, Okawa Toru, Itou Kentaro, Miyake Kenta, Yusa Kouji and Suwabe Junichi are all well known for BL.
-Japan, you amused me once again.

-I was just skipping to the middle, some random characterspoke and all I thought was 'Who was that uke?'. Yes. That's how much I fail at life...

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru
-Title is too long. Lets just call it UraBoku shall we?
-It's not BL at all. I can't see any BL myself. It's as BL as Code Geass/anymechaanimethatpandastofujoshis minus the female characters. So yeah, it's just lots of bishounens really.
-REALLY well made for this sort of genre. People who enjoyed Vampire Knight should enjoy this. It's very angsty, very very angsty.
-The animation is beautiful for this sort of genre. I can't think of a series in the same genre with better animation. I disliked Vampire Knight for its sucky animation (didn't like the whole thing in general to be honest).
-It's really cliche and typical. Every single line is trying to establish the plot or Yuki's character. We could do with a few more useless chatty scenes.
-THE SEIYUU CAST LIST IS BEAUTIFUL. Honestly. Sakurai's bishounen voice is love. Can't wait for the whole cast list to appear, Miyano and OnoD still haven't had their appearence yet. FukuJun and Inoue Marina didn't have much lines.
-Overall, it's one of the better made of the genre. It's not BL either, the BL undertones is no more then Code Geass in my opinion.
