RECAP

Cover story: Lucy from Fairy Tail is getting a haircut from the Crab, one of her Celestial Spirits. Note also how the magazine she is reading is called "money". As subtle as it is genius.
Scaffold
Last week ended with Luffy running up a bridge towards the scaffold where Ace is being held captive, and Garp blocking his path. According to my scouter Garp is ten times as strong as Luffy, so we are all eagerly waiting to see how that battle is going to play out. But before we get to the action, there's some crowd shots first.

The chapter length has gone up from 15 pages to 17, but there wasn't enough room to include all of the major players. Here we can see Akainu, idling. He's suffering from the Hanyabal syndrome, and decides to stand back and let failure happen so he can steal Sengoku's job later.

Ivankov, always the kidder, throws out some witty sarcasm. Luffy is about the only one that is actually doing something you see. Good one.
Some other noteable people that are missing this chapter:
Aokiji: while he could be freezing hell over, he is busy gluing back Jozu's arm that he broke off last chapter
Kuma: he could easily teleport on the bridge and rain on Luffy's parade, but he is occupied receiving a software upgrade from Vegapunk's server.
Doflamingo: still looking for crocodile
Moria: he is off playing in the shadows.

Flashback of child abuse. The neighbours complained and a social worker named Dadan got cutody over baby Luffy.

With that out of the way, it's time to get down to bussiness. Luffy and his grandfather begin to exchange blows!

But then "the will of D" happens, which stands for "the will of Dreams", a narcoleptic disease. Garp dozes off and is defeated.

Come on Momonga, you're stronger than Luffy, soru up there!

Onigumo, don't just stand there, do something. Anything!

Kizaru is seen killing off Whitebeard. We all knew the old man was going to croak *yawn* moving on..

Luffy made it to the platform. Time to roll up another sleeve perhaps Sengoku?
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4012790/Pictures/op571-11.jpg
Flashback of Boa Hancock handing Luffy the key to her chastity belt. A bit random, but ok, it's cute. Too bad for her Luffy isn't into women twice his age and twice his size.

In a desperate attempt to get stuff going, Sengoku takes a peek at the moon and transforms into a Giant Ape. Why are there a bunch of grapes stuck to his head though??
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4012790/Pictures/op571-13.jpg
Just as Luffy is about to open Ace's cuffs, Kizaru fires off a laser blast. I'm not sure if he was aiming for Luffy's or Ace's head, but he totally misses and destroys the key instead.

.. huge fallus moaning next to Ace. Seriously, I have been watching Spartacus, enough with the male nudity already!
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4012790/Pictures/op571-15.jpg
Mister "does anyone need a key?" three has also appeared on the platform. How did he manage that Oda??

If Hollywood has taught us anything, it's that everything is just so much cooler with explosions. So the scaffold explodes.

And the chapter comes to an end. I just love this shot. Ace is all serious-like, finally free and ready to take revenge after all the crying and whining he has been doing. Luffy on the other hand, is floating in the wind, happy as a little kid who just got a lollipop. You'd almost forget he just delivered the marines the biggest humiliation in their recorded history.
The end
REVIEW
All in all it was the best chapter in a while. I had a few gripes with this one, such as Kizaru turning out to be an expert marksman (which makes it look like he has been horsing around up until now), mr3 getting a bit overused (how did he get up on the platform so easily amongst all those marines?) and the general inactivity of many of the prominent marines, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of this chapter too much. Oda has kept a fast pace for the war, while focussing on story telling and character interaction moreso than just long battles, and it looks like the war is finally coming to an end. I wouldn't have minded if it lasted longer, but this way we can get to the aftermath soon, and the effect Luffy's action have had on the world is always almost as much fun to watch as the arc itself. Not to mention we can be expecting a Strawhat crew reunion in the foreseeable future.

I have added a small review aswell this time, to be conform with this forum because a recap alone isn't really a review. As always, feedback is appreciated!
