Moyashimon by Ishikawa Masayuki (http://mangahelpers.com/m/moyashimon)
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, School Life
Serialized: Evening (Kodansha)
Summary and Preview:
Tadayasu Sawaki is a young man with a very strange ability: he can talk with bacteria/microscopic beings. He enrolls at Tokyo Agriculture College, where people seem to be just as abnormal as he is...

From Gekkoukan High Scans:
Meet Sawaki Tadayasu, second son of yeast preparation suppliers, whom is forced to go to an agricultural university and continue the family business. He has the unique ability to see microbes. He and his friend, Kei, are taken as students to the fermentation-process obsessed Itsuki-sensei. This manga follows Sawaki as he tries to make his way through university as discreetly as possible…which is pretty impossible if you’re as unique as he is.

Won the Grand Prize for the 2008 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.

Caught my eye after an anime sequel of it is coming, it seems to have one of the most creative settings I have seen in a while, the anime sure looks amazing, I am hoping that art in the manga is just as good. I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys originality. :)

I find this to be very interesting indeed. I like the feel that it gives, of nature being so attached to the person. Also, I like quiet starts.

Ah indeed, such a psychological feature for many stories as well, also as a sort of escaping form reality fits very well into that notion, people create worlds of their own so they can feel safe, I can see something along those lines going on here. Though the releases for this do not look promising at all. :(

You'd think after a second season of the anime came out, someone would be whipping out scanlations left and right. But nope. Also, kinda sad things didn't go as they did in the live-action drama, it was cool, but I suppose this is nice too.

There is an anime made of this ? I guess i will give it a try for once since i really enjoyed the start of the manga.
When you say it doesn't go as the drama. Does it mean it doesn't follow the manga ?
