Pretty cut and dry/repetitive chapter. I feel like I have seen this chapter 5 times over already. Natsu looking weak and uncomfortable in moving vehicles, Lucy trying to help out. Lucy near water so what do you know, she relies on Aquarius. Happens every arc it seems.

The only surprise is that Stellar Spirits powers have also been negated.

Grey facing Sugar boy is no surprise either.

Let me guess, all looks bleak and just in the nick of time Edoras Fairy Tail shows up to help out?

I'm very disappointed with Huges and Sugar's powers... They are somewhat like Cherry and Hoteye, only with weapons, nothing special.

The water thing is getting old too... but did Aquarius become loyal? that's too bad, I liked when she was rude to Lucy.

Now I wonder about the next chapter "Monster academy"... Will it be where Wendy ends up?

Well controlling an amusement park is somewhat unique. Loved the way Natsu and Lucy got their picture taken during the ride. :)
It is nice to see Aquarius being shocked for once, maybe she will start using other stelar spirits (Sagatarius and such). I have a feeling their fights will get interupted somehow (by the canon) since Erza's and Gazeel's fights aren't shown.

Good chapter.
Anyways for the next chapter I think than Natsu and Gray will exchange his opponents.
Because the flames are already soft, and also because Gray can ice everything, also and above the water (as he did with Juvia in "Phantom vs Fairy tail saga).
After that we will see newly "Gazille vs the phanter" and "Erza vs Erza" (with perhaps the appearence of Mistgun).

For Acquarius: I think than this time she is loyally for the situation, but also because Lucy has the key of his boyfriend.

You might be on to something, Lucy has to have done something to gain that kind of respect from Aquarius. (Btw I think you mean "her" boyfriend since it refers to Aquarius. I have studied Italian a bit so I know it's different in your language ;) ). Maybe she will start asking Lucy for dating advice :D

Personally I didn't like that chapter. Lot of fighting, no progress. Gotta hope next one's gonna be a better one, though they probably will need at least two more chapters to defeat them, but I do hope we will see either Erza's or Grazille's fight in Monster Academy chapter. I do believe that could be both pretty good fights.

I think the mention of Gray and Natsu switching opponents will be the best way of winning this encounter. Gray can block what Hughes throw's at him and Sugar can only really affect the ground against Natsu so if he keeps on his toes that won't be too much of a problem, unless Sugar's sword can affect human limbs as well, then that would suck, but could provide some humorous moments.

I think it'd be cool to see Gray's magic affecting the water as well but I have mixed feelings on whether or not it should.

I imagine that the next chapter will switch to Gazille and Panther Lily with Happy on Gazille's back to offset Panther's advantage.

I think the key to defeating the guy that can control stuff is gemini. Gemini can counter control stuff while natsu goes in to beat the crap of of him. Not sure about sugarboy though, his power might be more complicated. Grey's best shot is to catch him off guard and get a good hit before his attack is liquified. it'd be interesting to see grey using something other than static ice magic though. If he learns how to use ice magic that can move he could potentially control the ice even when it is soft and stuff.

I wonder, several people have brought up using Gemini to handle Hughes or whatnot, but can Gemini actually do anything? Edoras magic is achieved through the use of tools, so would Gemini be able to replicate the tool as well? My first inclination is no but I could be wrong.

He was able to replicate ichiya's perfume, he should be able to replicate his magic.

Don't forget about Lucy's keys from the previous arc, I'd say they're able to copy the wand but the fact that lachyrma is inserted into the wand to make it work is something else. They probably can't use the wand but that's just me thinking.

I doubt replicating both wand and power would be a problem. If it was, Gemini would be at a severe disadvantage copying holder-type mages like Erza, Lucy, and Ichiya.

Furthermore, as kkck says, Gemini was able to replicate Ichiya's perfumes. Perfumes that weren't necessarily made by Ichiya, just like Erza doesn't make her own armor.

I do think it's pretty obvious that Mashima is trying to put PantherLily out there as a potential cat partner for Gazille, but I don't see the value in terms of character. With both Natsu/Happy and Wendy/Charle, the two complemented each other - Happy was the more expository/reasonable person next to Natsu's wild nature (providing a more easily understood explanation of the FairyTailverse in the early chapters, for example), and Charle so far seems to be a foil for Wendy, the sarcastic cold type as opposed to Wendy's innocence.

But Gazille and Panther Lily seem to be very similar in character - they're both cold and aloof types. So if they paired up it would be more like twins, and I don't see the value in that for character development, unless Mashima plans to change the personality of one of them.

I dont see it happen like that, both Happy as well as Charle have a pet(ish) value even tho they are characters on their own. I simply cant see that overgrown manpanther as a pet(ish) character.

Panther can never like happy and charle, you can't just reduce the guy to critter level just like that. He could become a partner to gazille but the relationship won't be master-pet like with natsu and happy but rather it'd be one of tough love nakama like with grey and natsu.

Would sword attacks even work on gazille? Metal is his element, he should not get hurt from it. Rather, panthers sword should be nothing but a huge mean for gazille.

Panther could be wearing magical armor which makes him that big. I could easily see his fight ending with the armor falling off and revealing a much smaller cat with the same attitude we have seen thus far. It would be funny to see Gazille trying to reconcile the awesome cat he thought he was going to be partnered with to the adorable thing that appeared in front of him after the arc ends.

I think what people are having is a wishfull thinking attitude towards it. Remember the cats were sent down to kill -> later kidnap the dragonslayers, Panther was never sent down. So there is absolutely no logic in seeing him the same way as Happy or Charle who *to some extend* did their mission.
There are a 100 total that were sent down, and Panther so far isnt 1 of them. Also his entire character is different. His role might be that of a disgraced Exceed, forced to serve the humans. I dunno. He prolly has his own story but still i realy doubt he will be with Gazille. Specialy since hes prolly debriefed on the exceed etc. So why would he want a pet cat, he only wanted 1 cause he thought a dragonslayer should have one.
I also think the Exceed Happy and Charle will be more seperate from Natsu and Wendy now (still close ofc) but no longer the never ending sidekick. So why give Gazille a sidekick?

I just don't see Panther being Gajeel's cat at all. I think the idea was developed on wishing alone, and not facts, in my opinion =/. I see nothing behind it. The furthest I'd go would be for him to join Fairy Tail, but never as Gajeel's cat.

I wouldnt say there's no reason in thinking Panther lily will be Gazille's cat.
You do remember how Gazille was looking for a cat just before this arc had started, I dont believe it was for a comedy purpose only. Gazille's opponent being Panther lily is no coincidence.
And it does seem that the cats will have a rule in supporting the dragon slayers somehow in the future.

The reason why Gazille was looking for a cat was due to the other 2 dragonslayers he knew having a exceed. Now lets go with the idea of Gazille + Panther , then what about future dragonslayers? (i recon there are more) > Icedragon,Waterdragon etc, we go back to Edoras to get them a token exceed cat too?

Well see I'm not too sure about that. Well I know there are hundreds of cats but to me that was just to increase the chances of them getting all the slayers.

Since there is such an obsession with 7s I think there are only 7 true Dragon Slayers.

lol I just remembered that gezelle and natsu couldn't get through a barrier since it blocked old people. Are we sure dragon slayers are even human. I was thinking they could be like half dragons or infant dragons who haven't found their true form. Also the only to beat a dragon is with "another dragon". I would think that you don't teach dragon magic to humans full stop.

We now know that people can turn into a lachryma that gives magical power. Maybe the lachrymas of the fake dragon slayers is made of dragons or dragon slayers.

Well in the brief introduction of Laxus dad he says its a realy rare lachryma so who knows. Might be realy dragon there. Tho i think there are more slayers since there are 100 exceed sent out to find and kill m. Also the slayers seem to represent a magic typ, Natsu is (fire+dragonslayer) Wendy (wind+dragonslayer) and Gazille (metal+dragonslayer) and if you think about it there is water,ice,earth,light,dark etc etc so why not have slayers of those typs

Well if turning mage's into lachryma works, then turning a dragon slayer may make Dragon lachryma.

and Wendy's the Dragon Slayer of 'Sky', not wind.
Sky dragon eats 'still' air, and she has healing ability's.
Wind is mobile, fast and probably sharp...I bet wind taste's like stringy pasta!Spaghetti, fettuccine and angel hair pasta.Possibly with Alfredo or Marinara depending on climate.We could still see a wind Dragon though.
And I do Think Panther will return with Fairy Tail.
But Dark and Light will probably not be an element for dragon slayer.
Recently though I thought about why dragons would create Dragon Slayers.
I came to the conclusion that there was probably a dragon who had 'control' as his power and could force dragons to work for him, then they needed someone who wouldn't be 'controlled', hence humans.

there was a greater cause for gildarts to mention the black dragon aside from that. that confirmed to natsu that the dragon are still very much alive. seeing how gildartz is NOT a DS he shouldnt be able to take a dragon down. remember that the only ones who should be able to take down the dragons are DS.

Well we know Zeref is alive, its been mentioned a few times already, but we dont know were his magical power comes from. Say what if hes a dragonslayer himself? The dark one?
Only a dragonslayer or group of dragonslayers might be able to beat him. So that might be a reason why the dragons trained their students? (just a theory)
