To be more specific, this episode contained parts of 340 and the entirety of 341, but that was only half of the episode. Sad to say, if it weren't for the Sado/Renji filler battle, they probably would have been forced to exhaust a few more chapters to animate this episode alone.
You shouldn't really blame the anime producers because those two chapters in particular had very little substance and would have only covered a few minutes of animation anyway.

just watched the episode, i guess emo-bat (Ulquiorra) will release next episode. Yammy made a cameo appearance. Also noticed at the ending, it seems Chad is KO'ing the espada that Byakuya beat. The one with the super fast sonido. Forget his name.

I think you mean Zommari Leroux. Yeah that had me thinking that the animators wished Chado had fought him instead of that fail-Globetrotter-wannabe Privaron-Espada.

yeah he should be. but at the ending you also see Grimjow waking with a few other hollows. Of course we don't know if he's dead yet or what. Just know that the ending shows all the espada, dead or alive. Even Nnoitra is in the pool room with Uryu! SO next episode you guys think Ulquiorra will release?

Epic editing failure on the part of the fansubbers for this episode. More HSLF (because apparently that's still not something we all fully understand yet and couldn't possibly fall into the category of *legacy* words like bankai, shinigami et al), and epic timing failures. Honestly the timer needs to pay attention. He's been slacking off for months now.

Also ultimate epic fail on the part of the animators. Pay attention to 00:01:55.558 - 00:01:58.532 you'll notice that Orihime's lips are moving and she ain't saying anything. Either they recycled this scene (probably) or forgot to add the seiyu's dialogue (possible, but not what I'm thinking).

Other than that... not bad job padding the fights for Abarai and Chad with the hollows. Liked seeing Yammi finishing up eating, and that dog.

Anyone else laugh their tushies off when Ulquiorra had the ultra-speed arm slashing action? I found it humourous.

You shouldn't take an opening or ending with any real grain of salt, because these endings just show off the characters.

i guess orihime actually did something good for once by saving ichigo's ass at the end. I really hope they dont ruin the canon episodes by adding more filers to them that would really suck.

It's an ending of a what-if situation if the Shinigami/Arrancar entered the real world and assumed normal personas. I mean, the vast majority of the Arrancar (fraccion, Privaron Espada, etc.) are dead by this point in the anime.
You shouldn't take an opening or ending with any real grain of salt, because these endings just show off the characters.

i was answerring someone's question. i know the ending has nothin to do with the story. Besides the characters.

This is so shit its like slow motion fighting its so boring, tites fault for drawing next to nothing each chapter, but this is pretty awful if all the fights are going to be shown at this pace i'm not that interested. Its supposed to be action

I hate to say it, but if this is going to be the pace maybe they should have just kept up the Zanpakutou arc till June then given the viewers less flashbacks/in-show-recaps. Since most of the chapters are heavy on fighting and little dialogue I understand that the animators have little to work with, but really this is too much. Maybe they should have let it go another couple of months. I dunno, perhaps I'm just a whiny bee-atch.

geez...if they were going to add in filler-like fights they may as well have added extra scenes to the Ulquiorra/Ichigo fight...still it's better than a full recap episode :p

Judging from the titles of the next two episodes, the anime is trying hard to slow the pacing.
268 is practically Loly and Menoly trying to rip Orihime's clothes apart.
269 is Uryu saving Orihime from Yammy.

Maybe if they manage ripping more than just her shirt, 268 will be worth watching:tem ... :notrust. As for 269, I'm hoping for a release from Ulquiorra by the ending, with the next episode title showing it off, like "Ulquiorra's Release, Ichigo's Despair", or something like that, and have about 3 chapters worth of material. Up until he pokes a hole through Ichigo.

I skipped most of the Chad and Renji fight, I wasn't interested in watching ta generic battle of good guys faces giant monster. In the end, Ulqui vs. Ichi wasn't that bad. Slow pace anime isn't fun but I can live with this. The best part had to be the ending. Orihime showing what she's made of with a last minute shield to save Ichi.

I actually liked the Renji/Chad fight, really nice dynamic and brought back the old Chad which I felt got lost in the middle of all that punching-bagness. I think they should've kept the Ichigo/Ulq fight in one run tho instead of flashing back and forth, sort of destroys the intenseness.

did renji push hihou zabimaru thru the hollow hole im sure he did and then wondered why it didnt hurt it :blink.

the ulq fight made me lol espially the gin like slashes he did and ichigo looked like he was dancing not dodging.

im not feeling the opening song it doesnt match the images being shown

ulqiorra showed his speed, but then ichigo showed his by catching his arm. that to me was the highlight of the episode, I laughed with joy for seeing ichigo think to himself and then catching up with bat-boy. When i said bat boy releasing, i didn't mean going 2nd stage. I meant him resurrecion. Isn't that coming soon? I'll have to re-read the manga chapters

Everytime the Renji and Chad v Hollows part came on, I skipped that shit and just went on the Ichigo v Ulquiorra lol

I swear Renji's Zanpakuto is pissing me off -_-;

it good to watch as chad seems alrite fighter compared to manga altho they kept repeating the el diablo animation.

it funny that both renji and chad struggled agaisnt a large hollow tho should not have happened all it did was sit there and fire a cero now and again.

ulq vs ichigo was dull and ulq coping gins animation to 'show' speed was awfull. the muramasa arc had better animation and fights at the moment...very disapointing

I don't think Ulqi was copying Gin with his fast sword attacks, I've seen that in the manga and the anime before it was showed by Gin. And I don't think it was just Gin that used it. Seems like it's just another 'thing' that characters do.
