usually its a rotation, which district goes out what time first. here, we get hot around 3PM, which i think is most humid.

Yeah, you guys in Cebu get the shaft of the inefficient powergrid.

Only brownouts I've had since the start of the year were a 3 hour one and a 6 hour one (the latter not being a part of the rotating brownout, but due to Meralco's ineptitude).

Exactly. The reason why most of these "activists" (except Greenpeace, they've always been nuts) are touting renewable right now is because when more efficient stable and abundant sources of power (like nuclear fission) become available, they won't earn money no more. For now, let's limit our waste, but a lot of the other things being advertised (solar power, biodiesel, etc.) are simply overdoing it.

I'm really sort of panicking, depressed, frustrated, nauseous at the thought.

It's all fair to them countries who actually get manga.

hmm. which brings me back to pre-MH days...

it was sometime in 2004 when i couldn't wait for Naruto episodes to come out weekly anymore. I did my research and discovered the world of manga.

then I reviewed all the anime I liked, Fruits Basket being the turning point because I wasn't satisfied with just one season, and began looking for its manga. These were the dismal times for shoujo. Nobody loved it as openly as they do now, and scans and translations were so goddamn hard to find. Let alone scanlations!

I found raws, and I found translations, but nobody would scanlate these awesome chapters. Another milestone, I clicked on Photoshop (yes it was installed for a long time but I was too much of a wuss to use it then) and started scanlating! zomg! :o

then I looked for scanlation tips, and then I stumbled upon MH. there ya have it. my "how I came across MH story". I'd also been lurking for a long time until discussions in the Naruto section were so interesting I decided to finally chime in. I think everybody starts in the Naruto section. Unless you guys prove me wrong. :p

so far I have quite felt the impact of CnD of the scans because releases have been slow at Mangatraders. And I have not had the time to re-check my bookmarks of the scanlator sites (good thing I still have some of them bookmarked! :sweatdrop) if they're still good ^^

See, it doesn't hurt to visit scanlator sites from time to time, as they need all the love they can get. And sometimes, site traffic is all they need as expression of that love. :s And you'll be doing it quite often, at a regular basis, to get your manga fixes, is all. That's what I've been doing before I discovered mangatraders. :p

It's really not that hard. Just... troublesome. Like you need a secretary to keep track of all sites you must visit to update all your manga and stuff. if you read that much stuff like I do :fan

Well, I've had a man crush (no homo) on Miyamoto Musashi ever since Koei's Samurai Showdown :D. Vagabond was definitely a strange but refreshing look at the Musashi character. I was expecting a lot of Nitou Ryuu but so far he only used it in desperate situations.

Dessert: Pie with apple walnut-caramel filling, almond daquis crust, and heavy cream. Served with a cup of cafe creme... and two cigarettes...

yes po. but i got most of it na. its supposed to be an auto-update script, which retrieves needed info from active directory, desktop authority and from a shared repo. if i can get this completed, i can upload this to our sccm osd task sequence for a zero touch reimaging process.

i just need the command line to retrieve yung nasa description field ng specific objects from a certain ou in active directory. if it's not doable sa command line, i guess i need to learn vbscript cguro. :(

active directory? you need windows api ata to do that low level....any recent high level can do that i think...

Lechon cebu is an excellent choice! :thumbs but for me eating it almost every week, I don't think I'll want it before I die.

regarding that, I have a 90-yr-old grandma here who eats it regularly for dinner. Her doctor allows it. :o

10 bone marrows seems very exotic, but I like the sound of it! :nuts Don't you want achara instead of adobong kangkong though? Lechon cebu is very flavorful as it is so we always eat it with achara to balance the salt. :noworry

And your dessert should be more artery-clogging than that. There are tons more desserts that are way more deadly hehe.

I am right now almost always away from the forums because of 1) The Sims 3 and 2) Job interviews.

I'd been a bum for almost 2 months now, and finally the 1,468 resumes I sent out are getting me some calls. Like, two calls total. :sweatdrop

Currently I'd been interviewed with a very attractive offer that I'd never imagine to land right after graduation given the experience I have. I'd scheduled myself 2-3 years before I get that position but now I get to have it in almost no time. :crying

Before I do get the training for said position, I am to take this exam (FUCK PRACTICAL EXAMS, FOR REAL!) and I'm dying of the anticipation really. My life is hanging in the balance with this one make-or-break exam and I'm scared shitless, i really am.

If I ever get this job I swear I'll give you guys discounts ohohohoho.

re:Mains- The presence of achara is pretty much understood... it's what kimchi is to koreans for us Filipinos anyway.

man i'm so depressed right now. I was a victim of miscommunication and I had my hopes up for a month just to end up embarrassed.

I was called by this hotel about a training program of a supervisor position and I was so excited about it. Besides what had I got to lose, they were going to train me and I was a fresh graduate? When I went for my final interview with the executive chef, apparently he wasn't looking for anybody to train, he was already looking for someone who's had YEARS AND YEARS of experience!

I could have defended myself that I was misinformed by the Hiring department but words were stuck in my throat! I was so embarrassed I almost cried and focused all my energy into not crying! :wtf He was looking at me like, "look here, you're in over your head" or "what made you think you'd be qualified, hello?"

It was excruciatingly painful~! I could say a lot of things but I didn't because of the goddamn tears that were ready to fall that if I move a muscle by trying to talk they'd fall!



And so I'm back to being a bum. -_-

Why not go for an apprenticeship and just rise through the ranks? I mean, sure it is slower than applying for a supervisory position, but at least you're able to hone your technique and gain street cred along the way. I myself intend on taking up an apprenticeship after I graduate since school+internship really isn't enough to prepare you for the line. One of my chefs once told me "it takes 10 years to make a good chef"... I can't even count the year and a half I spent as a commis/prep cook in those 10 years since it's supposedly 10 years in the line zzz...

Don't worry BB, in about a year and a half, I too will be unemployed.

See, the funny thing was, I never applied for that position. I was called in as a pastry temp, and I turned them down because I didn't like pastry. And the HR Director probably reviewed my application so she called me for another interview for this training program, of which I accepted. wouldn't you?

Apparently there was a miscommunication between the chef and the HR about what they each wanted for staff. during the time I was interviewed by the HR, the chef was in Italy for vacation and he probably didn't wanna talk about work. By the time I was interviewed by the chef, I checked in to see if the HR director was there but she had the day off.
