The Rikudō Sennin's Genjutsu

I've got a theory about the Rikudō Sennin, so I thought I'd make a thread and get some opinions on it. I think the Rikudō Sennin is casting genjutsu on the Jūbi in chapter 467 for several reasons. In the panel in question, the Rikudō Sennin is standing in front of the Jūbi with his arms raised and he appears to have the Jūbi's attention:

I don't think he's just standing in that position for no particular reason. I know many people think that that's actually the Jūbi's eye, but I think it's way too similar to the Rikudō Sennin's eyes to be a coincidence. We've already seen that an animal trapped in genjutsu can reflect the eyes of the person casting the genjutsu in chapter 363:

A lot of people don't think the Rinnegan is capable of casting genjutsu, but I'm convinced it can:

I also know that a lot of people think that there's no way the Rikudō Sennin had the Sharingan either. I'm not saying he did. All I'm saying is that the reflection in the Jūbi's eye is very similar to the Rinnegan and it's not exactly the Sharingan either. And most importantly, we've never actually seen someone with the Rinnegan cast genjutsu, so it could potentially look different; like how the Sharingan changes into the Mangekyō Sharingan when the user casts Tsukuyomi. But the biggest piece of evidence that supports this theory can be found in the same chapter:

If we assume that the Rikudō Sennin is using genjutsu on the Jūbi, then the panel where Madara is explaining Mugen Tsukuyomi also supports that theory because the moon itself is reflecting the genjutsu that Madara intends to use. It's the exact same genjutsu that the Rikudō Sennin is using on the Jūbi. Obviously, the moon itself is not a giant eyeball.

Also when the jutsu is introduced, Madara calls it "a certain jutsu" which (to me) implies that it already exists and has been used. A lot of people also think that Mugen Tsukuyomi (Infinite Tsukuyomi) is the same as the Mangekyō Sharingan version, just on a grander scale. I don't think so. I think they're different. When Itachi and Sasuke cast Tsukuyomi, even though the victims are being restricted or tortured, they still have minds of their own. They can still think for themselves:

But when Madara introduces Mugen Tsukuyomi, he implies that he can control minds with it as well. That makes the two Tsukuyomi's seem different to me. And if they are, the Rikudō Sennin's Tsukuyomi wouldn't be restricted to the Mangekyō Sharingan. I also think that the Rikudō Sennin could cast this genjutsu on a single being without needing to be the Jūbi's host. After all, he's supposed to be the most powerful ninja that ever existed. But it makes sense that Madara would need to strengthen his eyes to perform it and he'd need a massive amount of chakra to cast the Rikudō Sennin's genjutsu on the entire planet; that's why he needs to become the Jūbi's host. This theory fits into his master plan very well:

If the Sennin invented Mugen Tsukuyomi, it would also explain the tablet under Konoha. Personally, I think he wrote the tablet. He would be the only person in the world that could know Rinnegan techniques, something similar to Sharingan techniques, and specifics about the Jūbi. That's why it can only be decoded with the Sharingan, Mangekyō Sharingan, and Rinnegan in that order. He could've also wrote about Mugen Tsukuyomi, which would explain how Madara learned about it. And let's not forget that the Rikudō Sennin could've also used Mugen Tsukuyomi to defeat the Jūbi, allowing him to seal it and become its host. It all makes sense to me.

The truth is that we don't know anything about the Juubi other than that it existed ages ago, in the time period of the Rikudou Sennin, and that it was divided into nine at the Sennin's death.

The Rikudou sennin is widely accredited as to have invented all modern forms of jutsu, including genjutsu and sealing techniques, to the point of people heralding him as a 'God'.

It doesn't mean that the Rikudou sennin used a genjutsu, however. Taking into a account the latest episode of Naruto Shippuuden, he could've just as easily used a weak version of Chibaku Tensei just to halt the beast in its tracks, one on the same scale as Nagato had Tendou use on Naruto. They appear to be using the exact same 'combat stance'.

I'm not sure about genjutsu, but I think we will learn about the Rikudo Sennin in near future. So, possibly, we'll see the way he defeated Jubi.

It's possible, but I doubt it. The Jūbi appears to be on or close to the ground in that panel and Chibaku Tensei would send it flying in the air. Also, for a monster that terrorized the planet, it seems pretty calm.

Not all 'terrors' are mindless monsters incapable of sentient thought, though, which makes them all the more nightmarish. Stephen King's IT, for example. From that one panel, I get the feeling it's merely observing the Rikudou Sennin, in the fashion of a child that studies the behaviour of an ant, rather than annihilating everything in its path.

Also, to seal something within yourself I highly doubt you can do it without being in close physical proximity with your object of focus. Maybe they're both standing on a single 'meteor' that's just been ripped from the ground, as a result of the Sennin's idea to limit the Juubi's escape routes. This is just speculation on my part though.

We're talking about the guy who survived long enough in the vacuum of space to pull off the task of separating the Juubi's chakra into the nine bijuu as we know them today, before encasing both his own and the Juubi's body in the moon.
