Zoro looks relatively the same, just a new scar. Brook was doing classical Brook. And surprisingly Chopper and Luffy haven't changed all that much. Well at least on the outside anyways. well looking at the pic he does hve the brook vibe but the curly hair and the hat is pretty much slash's signature. maybe a crossbreed of the 2... who knows... lol

I don't think it is that simple. Surely every strawhat has been training their buts off, however that does not mean that them still being weak in comparison to strong NW pirates makes them weak. Even when they travelled the first half of the GL they were not originally at the level of it. It took them time to have the significant increase in strength they went through. It required a significant increase in strength and a lot of luck for them to make it as far as they did just for the GL. I think the NW is still being underestimated here.

Usopp looks freaking beast! I was expecting him to beef up but his new wardrobe makes him look really cool. Franky's a tank! Nami's a babe! Robin's a babe! Zoro's a demon! Loving what Oda did with the scar, looks like he lost an eye too. Sanji's got a bit of a Goatee and it makes him look very distinguished. Bet he's glad those hellish two years are up. This is interesting, indeed. Are they the new super Cp9(?), could be interesting if they fought them. But judging from their appearance they look rather weak and fodder like.

I'm not saying they are Yonkou level or something, but they have to be prepared for the NW at this point. Additionally, when they entered the GL they had not trained for it. They simply decided to leave East Blue and continue on. This time instead of doing that they stopped and trained for 2 years. It's the other rookies that entered the NW at the bottom of the food chain hoping to grow like they did in the GL.

Yep. It's been highlighted before. It does resemble Rayleigh's scar. They're pretty much the same thing lol. I guess a closer picture/panel would show the extent of the damage to the eye. ;)

I think the issue is that Luffy had by far the most potential in terms of changing him over that time. He was virtually a blank slate and still had/has largely childish features. Perhaps Oda was just too attached to Luffy's old appearance or was afraid of changing him too much.

As far as Luffy's scar, that could easily be from the MF battle not from his training, no real way to know the damage he had from the fight since all we saw were bandages.

Any scares he got from training were prob from the final BOSS of the island he had to beat to clear the Island :P

We don't know that for sure. Again, what was already leaked are scan of what the crew are supposed to look like. We have no clue as to their battle abilities or the experiences they individually went through.

It's not so much that Luffy hasn't changed, but rather his appearance in terms of his age and what he has been doing over the past few years. How old is Luffy supposed to be at the present? According to the Strong World databook, he is supposed to be 20 right now (18 + 2). It'd be generous to say that he is 19.

Luffy got a scar and new clothes, but that's it on his department. I know two years wouldn't make a difference for an adult who has stopped growing, but Luffy is one of the youngest members of the crew. Especially since he has been training all this time, Luffy should at least develop some muscle like Usopp did. I never expected Luffy's personality to change, just his physical appearance. Ok, the scar is proof that he went through a lot but I can't imagine that this be it for him for his growth.

Of course. The last time we saw Usopp, he was severely obese. Now he has changed his clothing, shedded a lot of weight, and is ready for action.

Usopp was the one who had growing up to do physically, so this is why he changed so much.

It's quite amusing what kind of expectations are out there for someone to change from 17yr old to 19yr old, on an island where there is nothing but monsters ~> except for a little stop at AL there was no chance his appearance would change.
His body? well he wasn't on the island to get muscles and frankly I don't think Rayleigh would have let him do it like that when he is actually supposed to train his handling of Haki >.<
In contrast to that: Usopp. He was fat and announced body building and that's what he got, that there are other things needed to surpass his 'weak comrades' is something he will see sooner or later when it comes to the first fight - most likely the imposters <.<

One thing to realize with Zorro not being more buff is that Mihawk isn't really ripped at all either. Also, agreed with the statement that luffy showing or not showing muscle bulk is true to his rubber arms. His midsection looks like he's been through a lot, muscle definition behind the scar. Really interested in how Robin has changed more than anything as of right now. Also would love it if Brook is a Music star and gets hounded wherever they go now.

It's not so much that Luffy hasn't changed, but rather his appearance in terms of his age and what he has been doing over the past few years. How old is Luffy supposed to be at the present? According to the Strong World databook, he is supposed to be 20 right now (18 + 2). It'd be generous to say that he is 19.

Luffy got a scar and new clothes, but that's it on his department. I know two years wouldn't make a difference for an adult who has stopped growing, but Luffy is one of the youngest members of the crew. Especially since he has been training all this time, Luffy should at least develop some muscle like Usopp did. I never expected Luffy's personality to change, just his physical appearance. Ok, the scar is proof that he went through a lot but I can't imagine that this be it for him for his growth.

Luffy was being trained to control his Haki. I don't think physical strength was ever an issue. At 17 he was able to move two massive towering buildings in the Water7 arc with his puny figure. I don't find it hard to believe that there isn't much of a change in Luffy (physically) between the age of 17 and 19.



Of course. The last time we saw Usopp, he was severely obese. Now he has changed his clothing, shedded a lot of weight, and is ready for action.

Usopp was the one who had growing up to do physically, so this is why he changed so much.

I mean a change in character. He aspires to be a brave warrior of the sea, and he has always been a coward. When I said I looked forward to what kind of changes he's went through, I meant that I hope he's matured emotionally. :D

Rubber does nothide luffy's muscles. Luffy just has a skinny frame. It's what makes him an agilty beast. His muscle buildup is different than Zoro's. Luffy got his muscle build from living rough being fast was obviously an important factor. Not to mention he's probably a different race and build than ace.

Without regards to building muscle intentionally, I'm sure all of that running around and being chased by monsters, fighting enemies that had been consistently stronger than he over an extended period of time, etc. he would have developed physically. Luffy never had control of his Haki at first in the training.

If the Gomu Gomu no Mi stunted any and all growth of possible muscle (if he has any), I guess that explains the physiological issue. He should have at least grown a few inches, all I'm saying.

It was never stated that Chopper plans on controlling his Devil Fruit powers at all, only that he studied medicine and herbology on the island. Judging from what he said, about how his medical knowledge will serve the crew some vital use, Chopper believes that now he will be a true "monster."

Not physically, but rather through his findings.

I believe that Chopper has abandoned the use of Monster Point permamently, that this power will not do anything more than to harm himself and his friends.

That's not to say that Chopper hasn't improved his battling abilities from time to time, but his main focus of work was studying medicine.

It's not really the problem of the look who disturb me but his size. He is way too big (i don't like his new huge massiv hand) and like you said how will he repair the ship with that big body (expectly with the hand - Yes, I have a problem with his hand x) )

I really don't like the idea of them all having Haki. It just ruines the concept of Haki being rare.
