I hate to say it, but damn, Tousen is really cool.
Great episode, especially Tousen's hollowfication, it was absolutely well animated !

After watching this episode im mad Tousen didn't get a better death.. For the fantasy fight grim vs tousen its clear tousen would have won, im sure grimjow cant stop wolfman bankai with ease.

Damn Tousen was sick in this episode. :o
His Hollowification was AWESOME why couldn't they animate the Vizards Hollowification like that??? I love the music they played when he Hollowified. The music was actually pretty amazing in general.

Yeh, Tousen was pretty cool in this episode. It's too bad he was on the wrong side, because his zanpakutou and Hollowification are really cool.
The animated was what it should be, and I liked it. Komamura looked pretty fierce himself. His bankai is probably one of my favorites, now (not considering the HORRIBLE consequence of what happens when it's attacked).
I share exacta's sentiments. Why couldn't they animate the Visoreds like that?

one of the best episodes so far excellent animation throughout even and especially at the beginning when yammy goes resurrecion. I love how they animated byakuya and kenpachi. tousens hollowfication was serious... damn seemless perfection in the anime when he was fighting the sound of him crackin ribs during that kick was fierce. he truly has ascended... they are 2nd tier captains though.... he had to use his ressureccion just to compete with his lame bankai. Komamura aint that strong.

Correction : He used his ressureccion because he wanted to show off. It was pretty clear that he could defeat Komamura with just his mask. That's my opinion anyway

Great episode, glad to see that we still get to see such great episodes even when we are so far advanced in the story. They kinda used the epic soundtracks a bit too often, but I don't really want to complain too much, because it is totally worth watching^^

Amazing episode, one of the best ive ever seen. Animation and fights scenes were some of the best in bleach, fillers were better than what tite writes and fully appropriate.

Epic i must say....The fighting scenes were brilliant, the music was brilliant and fit into every scene, the flash backs were short yet touching and moving at the same time...And Tousen's hollowfication was EPIC...brilliant ep..Best i have seen i awhile from any anime, not just Bleach

As I always say once Hisagi is in any battle the quality of animation just skyrockets dont believe me? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P-BGWaqBlA last great fight in canon story
I think one of the animators has a special place in their heart for hisagi

What a wicked looking episode. Loved it. I was kinda hoping the Zaraki V Byakuya fight actually happened haha. But even Yammy, who I normally can't stand, was worth it in this ep.
Really, really good stuff. But it makes me sad that not every episode is this quality.

Unlike some of the previous episodes, this was able to transistion in from Hueco Mundo to the fights in the fake Karakura Town with no problem.
I love how Byakuya and Kenpachi were going to kill each other before Yammy shows up and ruins their fun. I always wanted to see a fight between the two of them, to see exactly which Captain is stronger. Yammy interrupts their tension by transforming into a stronger battle-oriented form in front of both Captains. He claims that the more anger he feels, the stronger he becomes. His expression doesn't seem too angry enough, imo.
Well, they skip into a total recap moment (Hiyori being stabbed and "cut apart" by Gin). Aizen appears before Shinji. He taunts about how he has never told his henchmen to trust him and that Shinji is weak for believing that Ichigo will come and save them at the last minute.
The centerpiece of this episode has to be Komamura and Hisagi VS Tousen. It was clear from Tousen's departure from the Soul Society that there would be an inevitable battle between the three characters. Tousen, who blindly follows Aizen, decides to transform into a Shinigami-Hollow hybrid. The fight scenes were handled very well. I'm guessing the animators must have a special place in their hearts for Hisagi. Both of his fights were treated with the upmost respect.
Hisagi's flashback when he entered Tousen's squad as a seated officer was incredible, so moving. Tousen, as a result of his blindness, fears not only battle but even taking one step, that he can get hurt or die any second. He teaches Hisagi an important lesson, that strength is not what defines a warrior but rather his fear and avoidance of battle. A true warrior must fear his blade or he is not qualified to hold a blade in his hands. During his fight with Findor Carias, we've barely known Hisagi's situation as to why he felt fear at the hands of a battle. Now we know that the Hollow incident in the real world back when he was enrolled at the Academy has drastically affected his life, that he feared dying like his classmates had.
In retrospect, Hisagi and Komamura are disgusted that Tousen gave up his principles of fear for the sake of becoming stronger and achieving what he calls "justice." Tousen, on the other hand, hates the hypocrisy of the Shinigami (the narrow-minded dualism that Shinigami are good and Hollow are evil). I'm guessing he and Zommari must have hanged out a lot?
This was one of my favorite episodes in the entire arc thus far, simply because of how the writers and animators handled it. It was the proper flow, the fight wasn't delayed with filler nor is it being rushed quickly. That's why I felt that this fight (in the anime) seems to be much more consistent with Kubo's findings in the manga.
I feel like I'm going to enjoy the entire fight. What I loved about this conflict is that it elaborates on a plotline from otherwise unimportant, rarely seen characters. It wasn't really drilled into our heads the same as Ichigo VS Ulquiorra. We haven't really focused on Tousen's own perspective as well as how Komamura or Hisagi feel about losing their friend and Captain to hatred. Kubo has planned this fight out straight from the beginning. He didn't just pick the fights out of a lottery like he seemed to have done with the Espada.
Rating: 9.3/10

Hisagi is actually quiet popular in Japan. So much so that Kubo said he felt it wouldn't be fair if he didn't give him background and alot of attention in the FKT arc.

Yeah he's a pretty popular character. Most of the VCs are.
I think the best part of this ep was that it actually made Komamura look like more of a decent fighter. He gets owned so often in the manga that it's easy to think he's weak, but he has a strong will to fight and protect his friends that I found myself respecting him more after this episode.

this is why i love Koma..kubo might stomp him into mud but i always like him..out of all the gotei 13 he is the only pure good person. him blocking tousen with a back hand epic moment..this episode also had my favorite line from the FKT.
"tousen how far you fallen"
"ichigo didnt hollowfy by choice"
koma epicness makes this episode good..and prob best i enjoyed since the uryu vs yammi

Wow what an epic episode...My favorite part was the flashback before Hisagi got stabbed...Not only was it an amazing conversation about fearing battle but I love that music..goes great with it even though it's overplayed.
