I love sexist jokes, though I'm not actually sexist (I also laugh about good jokes discriminating against any people as long as they're funny although I'm friends with many different kinds of people).
However, I'm kinda conservative in terms of my own family planning... would I really want a wife who earns more money than I do and end up raising children while their mother continues working? Nope...

I think what's got totally lost reputation as a good character trait for girls and young women is naivete; By which I mean the positive interpretation of the word. Definitions by Friedrich Schiller
Kindische Naivität and Kindliche Naivität (both "childish" naivete in English, sadly I couldn't think of a way of pointing out a difference between these two outside German language, although "Kindisch" and "Immature" fit quite well).
The source of "Kindische Naivität" (has a negative sound to it) is the lack of knowledge and intellect or even the ignorance of given facts.
"Kindliche Naivität" on the other hand has a source in innocence and unity with nature and the own character. It mainly means the lack of prejudice. Joubert commented: "(...) because every naivete contains a sign of innocence and unreflective trust".

Now my point is that few women (or men either) can keep up this kind of naivete when they earn 10.000 € a month and socialise with according people. However, in the traditional role model that's not a bad thing for a man, but can kinda wreck a woman in a way and might be one of the reasons (the oner one would be: Lazy, irresponsible and immature Men) for the dropping birth rates.
