The Shogun

Hiya Folks :) Im an amateur (well... i could say novice..or beginner... newbie... or the lowest place in artist world :darn ) artist and i really like mangas. I was Inspired by an Artist before... Lee Myun Jin.. who made ragnarok into the abyss... but i have been making mangas.. well not really "the mangas" that you can think about but you could call them... weird comics... well it was a mixture of different characters and story plot.. i was elementary in those years and didnt know the word "plagiarism"...:tem

So now.. i made a manga of my own.. well.. gonna make...:eyeroll but im not really the pro manga artist and my equipments are not whats supposed to be.. but ill try to make em...

I thought about this story 5 years ago... made me some one shots before but i seem to dislike the direction so i remade it... back to scratch... but the theme is still the same..

I titled this "The Shogun". Ill post the first chapter as soon as i finish scanning them.. hehehe :)

So.. if there's any pro manga artist there that likes the story.. we could team up to make it ^^

Maya Mercado = The main female protagonist. Shes a black belt in karate and a little bit "tomboy in girl image". well.. shes girlygirl when she on girl clothes.

Well i made them without details since im only using pencil and sign pen. (only things i got lol). But i hope my first chapter turns out well. ^^ gonna post them later(still need to replace the pencil with the sign pen).

I would say it looks good but the pictures are so small I can't take a good look at them. It seems they are well drawn, proportion/style wise but it's to hard to really tell. You should try to make them bigger if you want true feedback.

Don't doubt your ability. They look very good. Proportions seem correct and they folds in clothing and stuff is very believable. And the more one draws their characters the easier and better it will become.

Coming from a person who cannot draw your art doesn't look amateur to me!

First these drawings are really good, I really like the way you drew Maya especially. Her description seems to fit as well, a girl who ain't afraid to kick ass! (Characters with surprises are the best!)

I like the whole mystery thing behind Jin also, and his tattoo is designed well. Already the title and characters have me gripped! I'd love to see the first chapter are you drawing it or doing a script? Hope to see it soon!

And yes don't doubt your ability. I see tons of professional looking artist drawing Manga and they always point out something wrong with their work yet to me it looks awesome, maybe it's just because i cant draw! :darn

Thanks man.. hehehe youve inspired me with your words :) im making the script as well as drawing it... though im still using those sign pens.. dont have those ink G-pens.. only have the pigment ink stuffs.. hehehe.. actually i keep on remaking the the 1st chapter coz i drew them on oslo paper and it doesnt fit my scanner..:( so im buying A4 paper and draw them again.. its tiring but fun... :D

BTW To all who can see this: You guys might be saying that im using a Japanese name like "Jin" well... he is japanese... ehhehehehe just telling everyone ahead of time >.<

THE SHOGUN
by: Aldrich Crescent
Kawana Enterprise - the largest and world known enterprise owned by Mr. Fujita Kawana. They manufacture and sell products ranging from the smallest microchips to the largest battleships and space shuttles. The story centers around characters involved in this enterprise.

The world of martial arts and fighting has been present long before. Champions, challengers, blood and bruises fill this world of fists. As the years passed, martial arts had advanced. Now being the main attraction of people throughout the world, schools began to incorporate martial arts and other forms of fighting in the students studies. While some excel in academics and sports, others may also excel in fighting weither it is on school grounds or on streets. Schools permit students to form teams and participate in a refereed fight while non-students form gangs and organizations and acquire turfs to gain reputation.

A new entertainment was then created. A fighting tournament participated by teams and organizations. Which is known to be called "Exodia" (A rather uncommon term used to describe someone with unstoppable, or godlike abilities in his particular field). People strive to be the champion of exodia and gain the greatest reputation in the realms of battle. The winning group will then be called "Wings" and be given the power of authority (be able to do what they like... coz like theyre sooo powerful no one would dare oppose them... hmmm cant explain it >.<) and world respect.

The Story is centered around a group of teenagers striving to win the said tournament. Maya Mercado, our protagonist, a teenager from philippines gets transfered to japan due to her guardian's work promotion from kawana enterprise. She meets a boy ,Jin, from her dreams who she never seen before and finds out that their is some wierd connection between them. She then ventures on a world much bigger than what she expected.

Maya Mercado - Our main protagonist. 5'3" well proportioned sexy body, long black hair, asian toned skin, exemplary pretty face, brown eyes and fair skin complexion. She is carefree by nature and is strong willed. Highly intelligent but sometimes an airhead. She wears girly stuff but sometimes act masculine (not afraid to kick-ass even if on mini skirts >.< [well she just acts like one due to her little bitsy witsy sadist side =_= yeah... sadist]well anyway i think its cool). Black belt in 5 Karate styles (Goju-ryu, Shotokan, Wado-ryu, Shito-ryu and Kenpo) though she seldomly uses their fighting moves because she makes her own while bleding it with some fake fighting style.Lol. Together with Jin Hirohito and some other friends, they made a team that will participate for the tournamen "exodia".

Jin Hirohito - a very famous delinquent from Takeshira International Highschool. 5'5" lean muscular body build, dark blue hair, green eyes and is japanese >.<. He is childish but very kind. Always with a smile one the face. (though he seems faking it most of the time) Highly intelligent thus he doesnt care about coming to class. Either he sleeps at the schools rooftop or secretly goes to his part time job selling fruit flavoured crepes (His favorite is strawberry). Top one student in terms of academics and perfects most of his exams but fails in attendance >.<.... He has a past which binds him in guilt and revenge to some organization. Reluctlantly joined Maya in forming a team to participate in exodia.

Alex Knight Hummington - born a briton but Japanese by heart. Son of Kawana's Britain Branch Director Micheal Hummington. 5'6" lean muscular build responsible by nature and cares for others more than he cares for himself. He is Jin's best friend and is Vice president of Takeshira High's student Council. In the underground world, he is known to be "the white saint" (a poiler for you guys >.<), vice captain of the gang called the "Akuma Bushido" ("evil way of the sword"... i think). Master of Sword Styles (except for the "Needle-Point" technique formulated by the SHOGUN [youll know him as the story progresses]). He is in love with Jins Classmate Miyuki Tachibana who is... umm.. basically a tomboy.

Miyuki Tachibana - Short Haired pretty cute girl who is a tomboy. Shes a wild fire and hot tempered. Later on becomes Maya's closest friend.

Jethro Gunner - an afican-american foreign exchange student. 6'5" tall slender-lean muscular body. A basketball player and master of Kalaripayattu, the traditional martial art of Kerala (a state in India). which uses long poles known as Kettukari. Silent and nature loving. Also a spear throwing expert.

Dr. Jason Smith - Kawana Enterprise's physician.

Fujita Kawana - owner of Kawana Enterprise. Only the executive officers of the enterprise knows who he is. Media has no footage of him, lower offices hasnt seen him, people dont know what he looks like... (even me.. hahah joke). Lost His wife the day his son was born. Spoiler - he is very kind >.<... not like most rich people... i mean he is down to earth.. cool isnt it? hehehe

Carleen Fernandez - Maya's guardian. She took care of Maya and her brother when their parents died even though she is not a relative. Only 15 years older than Maya. SalesWoman on Kawana Enterprise Davao Branch but was then promoted to Supervisor on Hokkaido Branch - Japan, near where the main Kawana Building is located.All i can say is... ill make her into a mature cute woman. lol.

Carlo Franc Mercado - the 12 year old younger brother of Maya. Takes care of the house chores, cooks food, does laundry while having fun at doing it. Strong willed like her sister and also knows a little fighting.

Maya: [Sayaka? That's a japanese name right... but im not japanese.. and im not sayaka]....

Then He continued

Boy: How silly of you..my name is...

*Maya wakes up from sleep*
*Yawns*

Maya: "Hello.. My name is Maya Mercado. Im 15 years old fresh graduate from middle school"

"Im starting Highschool this coming class opening" *crawling like a worm*

*TOGSH!!! a feet stomps her head*

Carl: What the hell are you doing you lazy sis... your supposed to cook

today!!

Maya: "Im living with my cute yet unfriendly little brother Carl"

"And"

Carl: And You!!! (pointing at another woman) How many times do i have to tell you to wear something when you come out of the bathroom!! What if we have visitors? You gonna embarrass your self!! And Me!!

Maya: "And our beautiful Older sister, Celine, well.. shes not actually a blood relative but shes our mom and dad's closest friend and has taken care of us after our parents died from an accident."

Celine: I am wearing something!! I have my panties on!

Carl: Its the same thing as being naked moron!!

Sheesshh!!! Women these days! Such liberality and ubsurdness!!

*TTeet!! celine turns on the TV*

News Reporter: *World News* In Japan, yesterday night became a blood bath in the streets of hokkaido. Some unrefereed brawl occured living half dead bodies with some gang members had their ligaments cut from some very sharp object. Investigators say it was done with a katana. Some victims were left concious but to some point they are very terrified to talk.

Victim: ... no!! no!! the evil general!! please dont kill me!! we surrender....

News Reporter: They keep saying it was some kind of Demon with fangs as sharp as swords was raging at them as they fought a bout for the "Exodia".. many believe that.....

Maya: Wow!! Its like that everywhere. Even here at our country we get that kind of news everyday. But theirs is much more umm bloody and dangerous.. i mean.. ligaments cut?! wow..

Celine:....

Maya: I dont wanna go there.. hahaha but i sure do want to enter this EXODIA tournament!! This coming class opening im gonna make a team. Since Middle schoolers were not permitted to join..

Celine: Um by the way guys.. i need you to study nihongo this month.

Maya & Carl: Whys that?

Celine: Because were leaving for Japan next month.

Maya & Carl: Ah.. Okay........ O.O WHAAATTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Airplane leaves*

Maya: "Old Sis Celine works at Kawana Enterprise.One the Largest Enterprise.. well in my opinion, its the LARGEST throughout the world. She was a sales personel at Davao City Branch but was lately promoted to supervisor due to her working skills and good personality. She is assigned to be a branch supervisor at Japans Hokkaido branch."

*maya looks at her skirt in the mirror*

Maya: This is such a small skirt!! But i like it though!! coz i can move freely with this on ^o^.

Carl: And middle schoolers here wear a necktie!! What a drag!!

Maya: [I always seem to be luckier than Carl. He still needs to ride the school bus in order to go to school. while i just walk going to Takeshira International Highschool.]
