Starry☆Sky

Plot Summary:
Tsukiko Yahisa is the first female student to enroll at Seigatsu Academy, a former all-boys school specializing in astronomy. She is closely watched over by her childhood friends, Kanata Nanami and Suzuya Tohzuki, who often protect her from the male student body. Throughout the series, she befriends other young men whose personalities are based on the Western zodiac constellations.
Since the area where the school is conveniently rural and the rather exclusive curriculums the school has, up until now the heroine is the only one female who enrolled to the school.

Starry Sky: It kind of reminds of Furuba and Ouran and it sounds like a fun series :); moreover, it has been a while since I watched some shojo, assuming this series is a shojo…well it does seem like one.
Back in November those were the reasons why I was interested in watching Starry Sky. Although, those reasons haven’t changed I now have a whole new reason for wanting to watch this anime. I’m referring to the fact that some of my favorite seiyuu are participating in this series.
Fumiko Orikasa, one of my favorite voice actresses, is playing the heroine of the story. http://www.laymark.com/i/m/m208.gif (http://www.laymark.com)
Jun Fukuyama and Mamoru Miyano together in anime…*swoons* http://www.laymark.com/i/m/m016.gif (http://www.laymark.com)
Daisuke Hirakawa (Itazura na Kiss’ Irie), Daisuke Ono (TLOTLH’s Sion), Hiroshi Kamiya (Honey and Clover’s Takemoto), Tomokazu Sugita (Honey and Clover’s Mayama, TLOTLH’s Lucille, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’s Kyon), Yuuichi Nakamura (Clannad’s Tomoya, Kimi ni Todoke’s Ryuu), and Junichi Suwabe (TLOTLH’s Milan and Lovecom’s Maity-sensei) are all great as well. http://www.laymark.com/i/m/m015.gif (http://www.laymark.com)
If just for the amazing cast this series has, I will definitely give Starry Sky a try!!

It is good to see you joining this thread, Ju-da-su. :) Before the announcement of this anime, I wasn’t familiar with Starry Sky; but judging by some comments that I've read on the net, it seems Starry Sky is quite popular in Japan.

ITA, the cast is amazing, almost too good to be true indeed. I guess since the series is supposed to be about bishounen they decided to get some of the bishounen of the seiyuu world for this anime. ;)

Even though it is a common name, I giggled at how there are so many "Daisuke" among the cast. :XD I'm the least knowledgeable when it comes to seiyuu so I can't say much about it. From what I can tell though, I'm sure this anime will attract the right viewers.
For example:
Hiroshi Kamiya as Ryūnosuke Miyaji
:hurr
I'm a huge fan of astrology so it's going to be interesting to see Starry Sky's interpretations. Even before I found out that Kamiya-kun will going to be in it, I was drawn to the fact that the zodiac signs were the premise.
I'm also keeping my eye out on the character who represents Scorpio. What is everyone else's sign?

Interesting point, Asarii. Tbh, I didn’t give much thought to that point, but you are right, there is a high probability that the boys’ personalities will be influenced by their sign. I’m looking forward to see Starry Sky’s interpretation as well. :)
I'm also keeping my eye out on the character who represents Scorpio. What is everyone else's sign?
The character who represents Scorpio is Miyami Ryuunosuke (Kamiya Hiroshi). My zodiac sing is Libra. Hoshizuki Kotarou represents Libra (Ishida Akira). ^_^ However, I’m more interested in the characters that represent Leo and Sagittarius, especially Sagittarius ;). And I’m also interested in the new sign they added to the series, I’m referring to Ophiuchus.
Thanks to Bern-san for the info!

At last, we'll finally see the adaption of the popular series of otome games Starry☆Sky by studio DEEN
The story is based on a school which recently was made from a boys-only into a mix school, although the main character called Tsukiko is the only girl studying there. She meets twelve different guys which represent the different signs of the horoscope. Three are her childhood friends, other three are from the archery club, another three are teachers and the last three are from the student council. Additionally they include a new sign called Ophiuchus.
It will air the 23rd of December in animatetv and it looks like the first episodes are going to be focused on Capricorn (Tomoe Yoh)

Meh, I've seen all four Daisuke together before (Ono Daisuke, Hirakawa Daisuke, Kishio Daisuke and Namikawa Daisuke) in the same drama CD named Daisuke with all the characters also named as Daisuke. Seeing just 3 of them together isn't much of a deal, actually...>_<"
Though it's still pretty rare seeing them together like this. Most of the time, I only see...2 of them together at maximum (plus 1 live action movie)...Can't think of any other anime with 3 of them right now.

Thanks! :tem I assume the boys will have the basic and somewhat stereotypical traits of the signs at their core, but they'll be different based on their background and environment.

Yes! My favourite seiyuu is voicing my sign. :XD
I really like the character design for the Libra character, and I also like Pisces and Gemini as well. I'm quite interested in how Ophiuchus will turn out.

I was surprised even though it's not a rare thing! The kanji should be varied among them so although phonetically similar, they're considered different names. Oops, didn't realize it at first! :p
I'm actually surprised that Namikawa Daisuke isn't among the cast members. He's quite popular from what I know.

...In fact, no. >_>"
Well, Kishio Daisuke's "Daisuke" is written with Hiragana, and Sakaguchi Daisuke has another kanji for the "suke" part, so they're different, but the other three Daisuke I know of (Ono Daisuke, Namikawa Daisuke, Hirakawa Daisuke) have the same kanji. ._."

Well, he IS popular. I can't deny that fact, but...not in comparison with the other seiyuus in this series. (though he would be considered as being more of a veteran than all of them here, in term of experience...despite of the fact that he stumbles too much and can't read kanjis properly, though...:p )

I've read that on Wikipedia that it was going to be aired on AnimateTV (http://www.animate.tv/) so that will be pretty interesting. I'm probably going to watch it there then. :)
It will air every Thursday and looks like it already premiered! *goes off to make an account*

Episode 1 (http://www.watchanimeon.com/starry-sky-episode-1/) Capricorn (english sub) was up since thursday. It's quite a short episode which made an impression for me that it was an intro episode.
Anyway, i'm enjoying constellation info on this anime, hope to see more. :)

According to MyAnimeList, this is an OAV instead of an actual anime since a website airs the show instead of a broadcasting station.
Here's the common traits of a Capricorn:
The individuals born under this sign are ambitious, patient, responsible, stable, trustworthy, confident, strong willed, hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, practical, responsible, persevering, and cautious.
Tomoe does fit these traits since he's quite reserved as opposed to his lively parents. XD And he's also quite patient seeing as how he waited all these years to reunite with his childhood friend.
It was a nice introductory episode to start off the series. Hopefully we'll see how he interacts with the other characters.
As an aside note, I appreciated the fact that the focus was on one of the guys instead of the heroine; usually the protagonist would transfer to a new school in these situations.

Actually, similar to Hetalia – Axis Powers, Starry Sky’s episodes will last around 11 minutes each.
Anyway, i'm enjoying constellation info on this anime, hope to see more. :)
And …maybe it’s just me, but little Tsukiko at the beginning of the episode reminded me of Stella-chan from AUB quite a bit…maybe little Tsukiko has the same seiyuu that Stella-chan has…
It was a nice introductory episode I agree; I just hope Starry Sky won’t follow the omnibus format some other harem series followed last anime season. I’m not that fond of that format tbh.

Episode Capricorn volume 2 (http://www.watchanimeon.com/starry-sky-episode-2/) was up few days ago continuing the story of Yoh Tomoe as the new transfer student. There he meets his childhood friend Tsukiko Yahisa as his classmate. He also made friends with Kanata Nanami (Pisces)and Suzuya Tohzuki (cancer). Though it seems Yoh stayed at Seigatsu Academy for a short time, he found new friends to cherish among his memories (though it would be nice if he would make a come back later).
Next episode is new character Tsubasa Amaha which represents Aquarius.
And …maybe it’s just me, but little Tsukiko at the beginning of the episode reminded me of Stella-chan from AUB quite a bit…maybe little Tsukiko has the same seiyuu that Stella-chan has…
Yup the voice was kind of similar to Stella from AUB but I did a little research and the seiyuu was different. It was kind of surprising that Tsukiko's voice actress (Fumiko Orikasa (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=912)) is the same VA of Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist. :o :amuse

It was nice that we got another focus episode on Yoh where we can see how he interacts with friends. I find it interesting how he's closest to the two Water signs; I thought he would be friendlier with his fellow Earth element. (Virgo and Taurus.) :)
It's not Suzuya's episode yet, and already his traits are shown. Even male Cancers have a maternal side to them, hence, people referring him to 'okan' (mom).

Wait...if the series is going to have only 13 episodes, how will they fit all the constellations into it...when Yoh already got 2 episodes to himself...?? >_>"
I wish they give all the constellation 2 episodes (or more~ X3 )...but that'll add up to 26 episodes...>_>"

January 05, 2011, 10:55 PM
There are 12 signs in the zodiac so it's possible. :) Capricorn (Yoh) was lucky and got an extra episode for himself.
In the game you can choose which character Tsukiko ends up with. The anime most likely will have a neutral ending. It's hard to get an interaction that initiates romance when there are only eleven minutes to get to know each character. (With the exception of Yoh.)

Asarii

Damn, forgot about Ophiucus. My best guess is that he's like Tsukiko and won't get any specific episode for himself. It's hard to create a character based on that sign because it has no defined personality. My other assumption is that if he does get a focus, it will be alongside Sagittarius (Azusa).
Ju-da-su
January 07, 2011, 07:24 AM
From the look of it...I get the feeling that it's not 13 episodes, but 13 DVDs (aka, 26 episodes)...since I've seen the covers of the DVDs, and they actually divided it into 13 DVDs, each for each constellations. I don't see why would they want to make Yoh the only one with 2 episodes while all the others get only 1 when they're selling all those DVDs at the same cost (assumingly)...>_>"

Just watched episode 3 (http://www.animecrazy.net/starry-sky-episode-3/). Nice episode.
Tsubasa (Aquarius) looks tall among others.. he stands out even when he was sitting during the entrance ceremony. Kazuki (Aries), the student council president, is quite autocratic but funny especially picking up Tsubasa randomly among the crowd as the s.c. treasurer and drags him into student council. :amuse
Azusa and Hayato Aozora (i think they represent Sagittarius and Virgo, respectively) were also featured in the current episode.

I liked episode 2. I was glad to see how Yoh/Henry decided to make the most out of the time he spent with his “first star” and with his new friends instead of focusing on the fact he had to leave them soon. The interactions between these four friends were cool and nice and I loved how Kanata would get so jealous every time Yoh got too close to Yahisa. :XD Btw, I liked all the characters (the four ones), but my favorite one was Kanata. :) http://www.laymark.com/i/o/06.gif (http://www.laymark.com) I can’t wait to see him again.

Ahh…thank you for that very interesting info, Asarii. :) And since you have mentioned Suzuya’s motherly side, I really liked that part when both Yoh and Kanata started to call Suzuya “mom” :XD.
Kazuki (Aries), the student council president, is quite autocratic but funny especially picking up Tsubasa randomly among the crowd as the s.c. treasurer and drags him into student council. :amuse
That was quite funny I agree. :D And it lets us see some of the traits of Kazuki’s personality.
Tsubasa is cute~

Maybe because of his inventions? Or maybe because he seemed like someone who wouldn’t want nor care about being the SC treasurer? Or maybe because he stood out among the rest of the students?

Looks like my structural prediction was proven wrong seeing as how we're going to have two episodes with Tsubasa. :XD
I really like his weirdness. I was worried for a second that something bad might happen to him when he was being scouted! Glad that's not the case.
The individuals born under this sign are creative, challenging, intelligent, concise, clear, entertaining, progressive, humane, frank, serious minded, genial, refined, ethereal, stimulating, quick, active, persevering, and independent. [...]
The Aquarians have vague expression, straight and silky hair, finely chiseled features, and a tall and slender figure.
I'm not making the last sentence up; that's exactly what the site said concerning the physical traits of an Aquarius! In a book I have, the sign was described as being "difficult to understand". :p

Episode 4 (http://www.animecrazy.net/starry-sky-episode-4/) (episode Aquarius volume 2) is up :)
Poor Tsubasa-kun he was casted away from the student council for 1 week. :comfort
He thought that he wasn't wanted there anymore but the members are just preparing a surprise for him. :amuse
Tsubasa's voice reminds me of Italia from Hetalia anime especially when he whines whenever he was dragged by Kazuki. :tem
Really funny part for me was- Kazuki poked Tsubasa, Tsubasa nodges/brushes on Tsukiko where Kazuki got more angrier, then to stop the two guys from fighting, Hayato puts an earplug at Tsukiko and scratched a mini blackboard. :lmao
This is my favorite episode in the series so far. I just can't get enough of Kazuki and Tsubasa.
Next episode features Kanata Nanami (he represents Pisces).

Poor Tsubasa-kun he was casted away from the student council for 1 week. :comfort
I felt so bad for Tsubasa when President-kun told him he wasn’t allowed to come to the student council room for a week, he looked so sad. http://www.laymark.com/i/m/m033.gif (http://www.laymark.com) Tsubasa has become really fond of the members of the student council so it really hurt him to think they didn’t want him close and that they didn’t want to be his friends anymore, and the pain was increased by the fact that being rejected reminded poor Tsubasa of sad times in his childhood when people used to say he was an inconvenience and a bother for his grandfather :(, the only adult person who really cared for Tsubasa was his grandpa. Fortunately, Tsubasa was mistaken; the members of the student council hadn’t stopped caring about him; they were preparing a special surprise for him and that is why they didn’t want Tsubasa to get near to the student council room for a week. :)
He thought that he wasn't wanted there anymore but the members are just preparing a surprise for him. :amuse
I loved the part when they revealed the surprise to Tsubasa, his own personal lab!!! :wtf I was moved by the scene of Tsubasa being so touched that he began to shed tears of happiness.

This is my favorite episode in the series so far. I just can't get enough of Kazuki and Tsubasa.
I really liked the Tsubasa arc. :) This arc focused on friendship instead of romance, which it was a nice surprise for me since I was expecting for all the arcs to focus on romance.

Hm seems interesting, I should go through them fast and catch up quickly, I mean there were only 11 minutes or so long I believe. And the anime was rather calm compared to the rest this winter. It had that nice feel to it. A relaxing feel. I want to see if it has changed in that aspect in the new episodes.

Episode 4
I felt sorry for Tsubasa during the first half of the episode when he was forbidden to make any more inventions (which I thought was pretty harsh) and misunderstood the council. That's why it was great he realized they had his best interests at heart in the end. He certainly has a personality of a child. :)
Too bad he only wore his glasses for a few seconds.
Episode 5
I'll start with my usual task!
The Pisceans are dreamy, romantic, generous, emotional, receptive, affectionate, friendly, good natured, kind, compassionate, sensitive, easygoing, submissive and honest.
On the negative side, they are prone to exaggeration, fickleness, passiveness, hypersensitivity, and paranoia.
Child!Kanata fits the negative traits of a Pisces since he was afraid people will abandom him. I have an astrology book where it says that Pisces are prone to turn to drugs and alcohol for escapism. In this case Kanata involves himself with fights which is his way for escaping reality.
There are also traits of a positive Pisces when he wants to protect and be there for his friends (generosity of helping others). So far all the guys fit their personality well.
Is it just me or is Mr. Aries making himself out to be a "bad guy"?

Episode 6
This episode made me like Kanata even more! http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Manga/love-012.gif He is such a cool and sweet guy, too bad I have a feeling the ending of his arc (in the VN and maybe in the anime as well) will be a pretty sad and tragic one. :( The way he talked about his life’s limit being shorter than the rest gave me the impression he is expecting to die soon and before his friends. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Sad/sad-049.gif Yahisa is very fortunate to have friends who care so much about her; it was very sweet to see both Kanata and Suzuya trying their best to protect her. I also liked how they linked this episode with episode 2, those flashbacks made the episode even more enjoyable for me.
Next episode will be focusing on Kazuki. We got the chance to see glimpses of Kazuki’s personality during episode 3 and 4 and also in episode 5 (I think he was the kid who offered Kanata to teach him how to fight) so I’m expecting for episode 7 to be a pretty interesting one.

Somehow...I still can't get myself to actually like Kanata as much...in contrast to how I fell in love with Amaha right away (guess because I like cute more than cool...:p )
Can't wait for episode 9. I want Homare in the anime already (though I got the feeling that he'll appear in Kazuki's episodes as well...since well, they're friends, iirc...>_>"). Hoping to see Kazuki's ones as well though, since IMO, he's just funny, at least during Amaha's episodes (and in ~in bitter season~ drama CD...>_<").

Amaha is Tsubasa-kun, right? I like them both, but for different reasons…but I guess I like Tsubasa more in a cute-adorable kind of way, whereas I like Kanata in a more fangirl kind of way.

Kanakubo Homare is Taurus. He doesn't appear in the anime yet, but he's one of the two I look forward to the most (another one being Hoshizuki Kotarou...:p )...though, it's not like I don't want to see the rest of them (I like the whole casting of this series. I like all the seiyuus in it, but the ones who did those two just happen to be my two favorites. >_<").

Episode 7 (http://www.animecrazy.net/starry-sky-episode-7/) is up which is about Kazuki Shiranui (Aries).
Most of the episode tells about Kazuki's past (childhood), his health along with a gift of foresight and how he met Tsukiko and others. Despite his brash personality, I like his characteristic being protective for his love ones and friends.
Though I really enjoy his personality if he's with Tsubasa so I hope in volume 2 aries, they will show up again even just a glimpse of how he ended up in the student council and met the other members. :)
Positive: Loves adventure, very energetic, inventive with lots of courage, confident and enthusiastic, sharp and quick-minded, fiery and warm, passionate and expressive.
The sunsign Aries is considered by their peers to be a courageous leader, not afraid to take risks, will often feel confident that "They know better".
Negative: Can be self-centered at times and prone to being quick-tempered, impulsive and impatience, takes unnecessary risks, and a procrastinator at times.

Episode 6
It's nice we got to know Tsukiko better because I was worried she was going to remain a flat character. (Yeah, I kinda thought she was until this episode.) I also appreciated the fact that Yoh's episode tied in here too. :)
It made me smile that Kanata thinks of others before himself.
Episode 7
Thank you, <.Haruka.>! Kazuki's personality (both positive and negative) fits with his sign very well. He's like a poster child of an Aries. :XD
Now it makes sense as to why he chose Tsubasa; his foresight probably told him that he would be a good addition to the student council. This episode made me like him more since we learned why he acts the way he does. Underneath his happy-go-lucky self, there's another part that's insecure about himself.

I like the new episode...but again, I still don't get why Kazuki picks people into the student council at random like that...Looks like Tsubasa isn't the only one he randomly picked up as student council members either...and somehow, I don't think it's because of his clairvoyant...>_>"
Now...who's that red hair guy again? I don't recall seeing him before...O_o"
On the other note, looks like Homare did come out in Kazuki's episode after all...totally expectable since they're best friends...though I totally didn't expect Hoshizuki-sensei to show up as well...Nice one there, honeybee~ X3
Gosh, the more Tsubasa shows up, the more I find him as adorable. I like how he calls all the characters, like Nuinui, Shoki, etc. He's really cute~ X3 (Well, again, IMO, none of the characters are as cute in their respective character drama CD as their anime...and the mixed CD...>_>")

I was surprised how Kazuki just randomly choose the members especially Tsubasa because he just first met the guy on the school assembly. Maybe the clairvoyant thing counts also a bit, but most of all its his leader/quick/impulsive personality just kicks in that judgement, i guess. :amuse
Now...who's that red hair guy again? I don't recall seeing him before...O_o"
There were two guys with the red hair in the episode, the short-haired one is Hayato (http://asukamasamune.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/char_12.jpg) (the vice president), and the guy with long braids is Shirogane (http://static.zerochan.net/600/33/29/188983.jpg) (the journalist in their school newspaper).

Hoshizuki (http://www.honeybee-cd.com/starrysky/img_char/char_13.jpg)-sensei (the school nurse) which represents Libra also showed up for a bit. He's the guy with the green hair. Can't wait for the next episode for the new character (Homare).

I think Tsubasa has a habit of calling his friends in rather his own peculiar way, sort of giving nicknames to his friends. Anyway its amusing to watch the student council team and definitely my favorite characters would be Tsubasa and Kazuki. :)

Meh, I already know who they are...No need to tell me about who Hoshizuki-sensei is. He's my favorite characters ever since before the anime was even announced, second being Homare (I was initially biased towards those two to begin with anyway...>_>")
Plus, I like Hoshizuki's randomness, though it's kinda different from Kazuki's randomness. Hoshizuki is more of the characters that no one really understand what he's thinking...which I find it as amusing. For example, there's this one time in the drama CD that Tsubasa made some pills that allow people to become communicable with cat, and gave to Azusa and the three teachers. All of them, especially Azusa, got really angry at Tsubasa and chase after him, before Hoshizuki gave up, saying that he doesn't really bother anymore, is tired, and starts finding it as amusing himself...>_>"
As for Homare...tbh, I don't know that much about him. I doubt the dark Kanakubo-sama will appear in the anime (since it only comes out in that same drama CD I was talking about...) Even so, I still look forward to his appearance...Would be even happier if he and Hoshizuki-sensei come out together, though I kinda have my doubt...:p

In fact...am not totally sure, but looks like he call everyone but Azusa by some kind of nicknames...but again, I've only seen Tsubasa with Homare, the student council people and the teachers...iirc...>_>"
Too bad there aren't that many drama CD that get all the seasons mixed (like ~in the bitter season~ with the three teachers, Homare, Azusa, Tsubasa and Kazuki in it...It's always a whole lot more interesting when they mix the seasons up, rather than just one person or three in a season...-.-")

@ Ju-da-su: I'm not familiar much with the drama cd but it seems pretty interesting to know about it just like the otome/rpg game since the anime mostly got its story from them. :)

I do hope something came out like that in the series (it sounds fun if they are mixed up :amuse), but so far from the episodes that came out, the other characters from other seasons just makes minor appearances.. its just like a bit of crossover especially those who have specific relationship to the featured character of the current episode.

I caught up to the latest episode, and I have to say that of all the characters to be shown so far, Kazuki is probably the most developed. We saw him during Tsubaki's episodes where he was depicted as a cheerful, rowdy student council leader. Underneath that outer layer, he's having trouble accepting his powers and himself.
I saved the character listing of the twelve guys, and the braided red haired guy (Shirogane) wasn't on there. It's interesting how he looks pretty farfetched from the otheres (XD) and how it seems as if Kazuki is the only who knows him.

It's Taurus this time!
The individuals born under the Taurus are stable, balanced, conservative good, law-abiding citizens and lovers of peace, possessing all the best qualities of the bourgeoisie. They are keen-witted, practical, dependable, steadfast, prudent, just, firm and unshaken in the face of difficulties. They are gentle, even tempered good natured, modest, dislike quarreling, and avoid ill-feeling.
But on provocations, they tend to explode into violence loosing all self control. They flourish in many different trades and professions like banking, architecture, building, bureaucracy, auctioneering, farming, medicine, chemistry, industry, surveying, insurance, education, music and sculpture.
Although the childhood scenes were cute, I'm glad that Homare's focus episode started with recent events. A different format to start off the character arc is very refreshing. It was also nice seeing Kazuki again since he's my favourite so far; I wonder if he's similar to a "leader" since Aries are the first of the zodiac signs.
Homare seems like a solitary guy since we never got to see him interact with other characters or Tsukiko. His calmness balances out Kazuki and Shirogane's more exuberant personalities. Hopefully he'll learn how to deal with pressure that he's still concerned about. After all Taurus is noted to be "firm and unshaken in the face of difficulties". It would be interesting if a flaw is a trait that doesn't fit with the sign.
Even though it's not related I know another Taurus in a different series who is traditional (和風/wafuu) as well.

Just finished watching episode 9 and 10.
Its good that they started the Taurus volume from Homare's first-met friends rather than introducing the episode right away by season. Then when Homare, Kazuki and Shirogane entered senior year, other members of the archery club were introduced. The other two guys from the archery team, with exception of Tsukiko, were Ryunosuke Miyaji (Scorpio) and Azusa Kinose (Sagittarius) -whom I saw before as Tsubasa's childhood friend.
Homare seems a quiet, gentle and composed-type of person, and from Asarii's source about Taurus' traits, Homare fits most of the qualities on that zodiac sign. :amuse
I'm looking forward for the next episode because the new character looks like an adult (probably not a student), and also sooner for Miyaji (scorpio volume) too. ;)

Well, if you haven't notice, the constellation is actually divided into 4 groups of people mainly, excluding Ophiuchus which is actually a transferred student and in fact, just an extra in the main series.
We got:
Student Council: Kazuki, Aozora and Tsubasa
Archery Club: Homare, Miyaji and Azusa
Classmates: Yoh, Kanata and Suzuya
Teacher: Koutarou, Iku and Naoshi
So, yeah we do have teachers...Iku is one of them (already forgot what he teaches though...>_>") but he's the only one who doesn't make his appearance yet...excluding Shiki, who I assume will only appear very near to the end. ._."
Miyaji still seems a long way to go though. Though I'm a scorpio person, I actually have to say, I look forward to Koutarou (Libra) most, and IMO, still a long way to go as well...Miyaji comes after Koutarou, so...>_<"

Among the characters with interesting hair colors, Homare is perhaps the most bizarre. :p His vivid light blue hair stands out a lot more because of his conservative, calm nature. If I only got to know him by description, I would have imagined him to look like a typical Japanese guy with black hair and brown eyes. XD
Tsukiko's development needs more effort although I could tell the writers are trying their best. It would have been better for her character if the series wasn't semi-episodic and had an arc based plot instead.
We got:
Student Council: Kazuki, Aozora and Tsubasa
Archery Club: Homare, Miyaji and Azusa
Classmates: Yoh, Kanata and Suzuya
Teacher: Koutarou, Iku and Naoshi
Even though they're separated into clubs, I like how couple of the guys have connections with the others. As Haruka pointed out, Tsubasa's childhood friend is Azusa; he is also friends with those in the Student Council.

I don't think anyone is interested, but here's a connection chart (http://img816.imageshack.us/img816/3394/ssbitterbk3.jpg) of at least the people in ~in bitter season~ Drama CD. It came in the booklet, it seems. Obviously I can't list all the connections characters have with each other. :) Even though there are only eight characters in the connection chart, the arrows make a circle and criss-cross each other. If there were six more characters, the diagram would be even more complex.

Just finished watching episodes 11, 12 and 13. I think Gemini volume would be my least favorite. Its quite a sad episode. I also didn't like the game Iku dared to Tsukiko, somehow it feels like either one who would lose at the end will be sad. She reminds him of his twin sister, and hopefully Iku will open up his heart to others, not only to Yui and Kotarou. Kotarou (Libra) seems like a big brother to the Mizushima twins.
Anyway, as always, here's some traits of Gemini..
Positive: Articulate, versatile and inquisitive. Having an intellectual type of personality, magnetic upon first impression.
Well liked by most people they encounter, they are natural communicators, lively and entertaining and quite the romantic.
Negative: Renown for their duel personalities, their moods can change from moment to moment. Having a somewhat quick temper. Sometimes will argue just for the sake of arguing, and can be somewhat fickle at times.
On the other hand, Cancer volume started its first part, and I enjoyed watching the childhood days of Suzuya, Kanata and Tsukiko. Its surprising to see that they met Kazuki before, but too bad Suzuya didn't like Kazuki after an accident happened involving his 2 closest friends. Can't wait for the next episode what will he do after meeting Kazuki once more after years have passed.
Positive: Loving and Emotional, Shrewd and cautious, Sensitive and nurturing, Intuitive as well as imaginative, Sympathetic and Protective
Negative: Indecisive and moody, Over-emotional and sensitive, Clinging and possessive

...Wow, I was very behind with my anime and decided to catch up with Starry Sky (since tbh, I start to get the feeling that this series seriously is my favorite out of my current watchlist right now... ._.") to find out that the anime already change the ending from instrumental to vocal...and they don't credit who the singers are (I can hear Midorin, Suzu and Yukyan in it though...but I don't know who else...sorry, I'm nevertheless a seiyuu fangirl...>__>")

Episode 15 & 16
The individuals born under this sign are most dominant, spontaneously creative, extrovert, proud, honest, generous, self-motivated, charismatic, warm-hearted, enthusiastic, ambitious, courageous, strong willed, positive, independent, and self-confident.
On the negative side, they are prone to conceit, bullying, rigidity, intolerance, and snobbery. They are believed to have Self-centeredness, greed for flattery, boastfulness, bombast, pomposity, snobbish superiority, and intolerance. They make good managers, highly positioned politicians, chairmen, directors, organizers, and music maestros.
I was actually surprised that Naoshi's personality fit the Leo description to a tee. :p Other characters had similar traits with their sign, but interpretation by the writers will make things slightly different. Not so with him.
I liked how his way of teaching is a stark contrast to Iku's: the latter takes a distant approach while Naoshi is more direct.
Episode 17
The individuals born under this sign have diligent, analytical, self-sufficient, controlled, orderly, modest, and intellectual character.
They are observant, shrewd, critically inclined, judicious, self concealing, patient, methodical, logical, studious, and practical. On the negative side, they are prone to fussiness, perfectionism, harsh criticism, coldness, and hypochondria.
Hayato mentioned how his parents valued results more than the process. Virgo individuals tend to be perfectionists so I can see why he would prefer the way things are done instead of what comes of it in the end. If the process is sloppy, then the outcome won't be satisfactory.
<.Haruka.>
April 30, 2011, 02:01 AM
The traits of Virgo fits perfectly to Hayato.
Although I must admit, I enjoy more watching episode 18 because it has the student council and other second year students from the archery club (Miyaji, Inukai and Shiratori).
Kazuki and Tsubasa are just like kids whenever those two are around and Hayato is like their mom/dad who breaks their argument & disciplines them. :amuse
Hayato seems to have a lonely life, always compared to his siblings, but whenever he is with friends, he can see happiness and his true self.
Next episode will be Libra (Kotarou Hoshizuki).

Although I must admit, I enjoy more watching episode 18 because it has the student council and other second year students from the archery club (Miyaji, Inukai and Shiratori).
I also like the student council and their display of teamwork. All the members have been covered, but I hope they'll reappear again. I'm glad there will be more of the archery club during Miyaji's episode since they don't have much screen time.
Kazuki and Tsubasa are just like kids whenever those two are around and Hayato is like their mom/dad who breaks their argument & disciplines them. :amuse
That's a good analogy! They really do act like a (dysfunctional) family. :3 In fact each group has their own special relationship with one another which I like.
Hayato seems to have a lonely life, always compared to his siblings, but whenever he is with friends, he can see happiness and his true self.
It's good that Hayato was able to find his belonging. :) At first his calm demeanor and gentle personality makes you think that he's his parent's favourite, but it turns out that's not the case. He doesn't need to compete with his siblings anymore; he can find acceptance from his friends and that's all what matters.
Here are the traits for Libra:
Positive Traits
Diplomatic, urbane, romantic, charming, easygoing, sociable, idealistic, peaceable
Negative Traits
Indecisive, changeable, gullible, easily influenced, flirtatious, self-indulgent
[...]
The individuals born under this sign are pleasant, charming, fair, perceptive, idealistic, refined, elegant, kind, very gentle, and diplomatic.
On the negative side, the Libra is prone to frivolity, flirtatiousness, indecision, deceitfulness, and insecurity.
Hmm, I can't see any striking similarities. I do see some traits that Kotaru has, but it's not as obvious as the other characters. Maybe the next episode will be more apparent about which traits he shares with a Libra. He's definitely a charmer for sure!
My favourite moments was Kotaru interacting with the twins. It's surprising that he has a sister too, and I wonder how his relationship with her plays into his other social interactions.

Episode 19 and 20...seriously worth my wait...<3
I don't know if sensei has any similiar traits to that of Libra, but...I still love him, so I guess I don't bother. (I watched this series for seiyuus, not for constellation thing anyway, so...>_>") These episodes are now my favorites as expected. My wait for my favorite seiyuu is always worthwhile...I just can't stop getting all excited, especially when he shouts out loud and cries over Yui's death.
Back to the character, even after episode 20, I don't think his traits is as obvious as others as well though, but guess it cleared up some of them. He's clearly peaceful, maybe diplomatic and idealistic (but the fact that he's just like a cat doesn't change though...always sleeping...:p ) and clearly, he's indecisive (as he decided that he should just wait after a while...rather than pushing on). I'm unsure of the rest, since mostly, as I said, I got too excited at the voice I don't even take note of other stuffs as much... ._."

@Ju-da-su: You're on the right track, and I agree with all your points. :) His story was more to do with his decision to become a (school) doctor rather than his interaction with Tsukiko; although his background story stemmed from there.
For some reason the episode got cut midway in the stream. :-_- I assume I watched the entire Libra chapter so hopefully I didn't miss anything.
[hr]
I was looking forward to this episode because of Kamiya-kun and my sun sign. Those biasing factors plus his character design makes Miyaji a close second in terms of favourites after Kazuki/Aries. :)
Positive Traits: determined, forceful, emotional, intuitive, powerful, passionate, exciting, magnetic
Negative Traits: jealous, resentful, compulsive, obsessive, secretive, obstinate
[...]
The individuals born under this sign are complex, emotional, analytical, focused, determined, hypnotic, intense, profound, powerful and self-contained.
On the negative side, they are prone to extremity, jealousy, possessiveness, stubbornness, and cruelty.
I can see the Scorpio traits well in Miyaji. He was shown to be competitive and determined by exerting all his effort in doing whatever he does. There might even have been jealousy when Shiratori joined the archery club!
