DZ suggested that I made a signature tutorial so I did make one. I also think that this thread can be a place where people post their own tutorial for signatures and compare/contrast different techniques used in making a decent signature. Anyway, here goes my one. It's the first time I'm making a tutorial so I might miss some really important details. >.> Feel free to ask questions too.

Get it in DA:

For those who can't access DA, I've uploaded it to photobucket on a lower quality version. (photobucket resizes anything bigger than 1 GB =/ so I had to make it smaller)

It's long so I put it under a spoiler tag.

I'm just trying to keep it as simple as possible so that people don't get confused. I myself got confused many times by different photoshop jargons. =/

Ok... I've made my very simple very unartistic signature... but I don't get how to get to display... I thought I had my html code right, but i guess not....

Any tips?

Heres the code I put in... with a space so you can see it... What am I missing? Why doesn't it display? I can do anything in windows... but I can't do HTML

In this forum we use BBcode (as far as I am concerned). You don't put <img src> etc.. what you do is:

URL

where the "URL" is your image's url ;)

Of course, you can always host your image for free @ http://imageshack.us

[ img]http://pictures.greatestjournal.com/userimg/6851434/100519[/img]

its not working... maybe theres a problem with my host? I have the text pasted twice above. Once wihtout spaces (you can't see it) and once with spaces... (that you can see)... I guess I'll just have to try photobucket or something... greatestjournal.com is supposed to have free photo hosting tho... hmm..

1/24 edit:
... look back the next week... and here we are! its working! odd....

nice, it helps a lot, though, on no.9 what do you use to erase the background?

polygonal lasso tool ?

The background is erased using the magic wand tool. That's the fastest and easiest way to delete the background.

Actually, that is really easy.
This is what you do if you want to link your sig to a place.

Step 1
Create your sig first.

Then edit the code.

Normally, the signature code should be something like this:
the long url here

To link it to another website (call it ABC), you just need to add
[/b]=ABC]the long url here

Done.
