This weekly series is published right after the Infinite Crisis event. After IC, all/most of DC's title related to Infinite Crisis skipped one year of storyline. According to DC's EIC Dan Didio, the series follows the life in DC Universe during that lost year. Thus, the story was told day by day in several different storyline.

Me too. It's really fun to see the JLA doing all sort of weird stuff like catching a mouse or bickering with each other, in a fun way of course, not the "identity crisis decision making" type. :D

Yep, just as a dysfunctional family should. Only it's one with superpowers like Bea who can set the place on fire and set the sprinklers off whenever she gets spooked (as by that mouse you mentioned) :D :D :D
But anyway, I read up to Week Seven, pretty darn interesting story so far. Although I love Joe Bennett's art and I go "awwww" whenever the art is somebody else's, heh.

I hope they end this series with a bang by bringing in top names like Jim Lee or the Kuberts.

Finally caught up to the latest issue! Woo hoo!
I think Ralph Dibny as the new Dr. Fate is a very good idea. He's certainly grown as a character, and who would have ever thought he'd be the next Dr. Fate? (I never did while reading Justice League Europe!) Makes sense, though, as he's a detective and no stranger at solving odd cases. Now as a mage he can solve the magical cases too!
Who the hell is Supernova anyway? I haven't quite figured it out yet XD
GAH! He did himself in! And Skeets' gone wild! Yup, things are changing...
You know that was actually the first time I've ever seen him actually "regenetrate" himself from blood, though it's not the first time I've read about him. Kinda cool though XD Though Buddy, Starfire and Adam Strange all seem to have a really tough challenge ahead of them in defeating Lady Styx...
This may be the most evil thing I've ever seen Lex Luthor do. Nice.
So far I'm really enjoying 52 a lot. Love all the covers, too.
master of all that is blue, welcome to Mangahelpers btw ^^ Nice to see another new face here.

I just read #33. My favourite panel is when Buddy (Animal Man)'s wife made her Christmas wish while other heroes were celebrating Christmas. And as i recall, i have yet to remember seeing Starfire, Adam Strange and Animal Man in the OYL (One Year Later) storyline. Hmmm...
As for Supernova, after his conversation with Ralph Dibny on top of the Daily Planet building, my guess is Supernova could be none other than... Booster Gold (alternate future)

That was kinda sad. I liked the part where Nightwing gave Batwoman a "special" batarang. But the Question's illness has me kinda bummed out, and Lex's willingness to kill a kid just to find out how his "x-factor" gene works and can be exploited is just despicable...
And that's true... I remember the JLA talking about Animal Man as if he was no longer there... uh oh for these guys.
As for Supernova, after his conversation with Ralph Dibny on top of the Daily Planet building, my guess is Supernova could be none other than... Booster Gold (alternate future)
Good theory there. Would be funny too since Booster Gold was so pissed and threatened by him earlier on, it would really be ironic if it turned out to be a more mature version of himself. I would miss the blue and gold, though >.>[br]Posted on: December 28, 2006, 06:21:46 PM_________________________________________________Added #34 of 54 to the first post (thanks to John Rx for posting the link) and read it.
Ugh, Suicide Squad did exactly what they needed to disrepute the Black Marvel family all over again. I kinda like Osiris and Sobek, I hope they DON'T turn into villains or die or anything like that. (Though in Osiris' case, he's probably gonna die - if they're gonna follow the Egyptian mythos.)
That was pretty brutal what the Persuader was doing to Isis, good thing she was near-invincible. I still don't know how exactly Persuader got the drop on her, but Osiris sure made him pay for it. Something tells me Black Adam is gonna end up even angrier and temperental after the 52 weeks are up.
I'm glad that Steel and Canary finally seem to be about to convince Natasha that Luthor's up to no good. It's about time they need to start taking down that operation before a whole lot of people get hurt.
It also looks as though Luthor's planning to draw Supernova out to confront him, from the looks of his face on the last page - looks like he's about to trigger an "unexpected explosion" for New Year's parade :p ( I was surprised that it's going to be year 2007 for them, heh, I guess that means the current DC books are taking place in latter 2007.)
Kinda funny that Luthor had Clark Kent in his grasp and still DIDN'T figure out he was Superman. lol.
The "Origins" at the end of each book always makes me think these characters are going to appear sometimes. Hope to see Zatanna soon.

Well, after reading OYL, seeing Boom (Captain Boomerang II) is kinda disappointing. It's week 34 and he's a Suicide Squad. And then in Outsider OYL storyline, he's with Robin, I mean Nightwing and the gang. How come they couldn't squeeze in what happened in Titans Tower. I'd love to see how each and every recruits (well, not all of them. but some would be good) came and left the Tower and their conversation with the hibernating Cyborg.
Edit: forgot the spoiler tag. Sorry :D

OYL?
Not familiar with Boom's involvement with the Outsiders since I've never read that book. But I did know him from Identity Crisis and I kinda wish he had been at the very least a step up from his father (in smarts especially) but so far that doesn't seem to be the case really. He seems just as much a goof-off.

OYL is One Year Later. And sorry about spoiling Outsiders for you, GK! :D You should read that one too. The art and story is awesome. It's pretty much seinen, so you'll like it :D

I just realized something. Since Hal Jordan is with JLA, "Haircut" is with the Corps' "Green Beret", and John Stewart is on an off-world undercover mission, what will the future holds for Kyle Rayner considering that Ion's only gonna be for 12 ish. Any speculation anyone? I hope he's joining the Outsiders (a.k.a. JLA with less rules and more ass kicking!), almost every DC superhero team needs a Green Lantern, except like the Shadowpact. :D

Maybe a new Justice League Europe :D ( Nah, but I can dream... )
Maybe Ion will play solo for a while.
EDIT: Nice Gin avatar, Ichi :D Might do with a little bit of border on the bottom/left edges though.

Yay! Thanks for keeping us updated okyatoks. Last few weeks have been kinda busy for me (and I've gotten back into reading manga again) but it's good to read American comics every now and then ^^ Thoughts later.

That goes the same for me, okyatoks! Though we've pretty much seen what happened in One Year Later storylines, but it's good to know what happened during that missing year. By the way, have anyone noticedwhere Booster Gold is in the OYL storylines?

Geez, and I've not even gotten to write my thoughts out, and already another issue XD They come fast. It'll be over before we know it!
Not really much to say though. Still wondering if the Question will really die. I'm kinda baffled about how Animal Man will get back home. And yeah, Natasha - ouch. His uncle is gonna be pissed. And Super Lex, eh?
That being said, onward to this issue *downloads and reads*

Only two more issues to go now... how far we've come... xD
And actually I still see a whole lot of story to be told. I wonder if they're going to do a new 52 series?
Ichimaru Gin n Tonic
April 23, 2007, 03:04 PM
They're not gonna do another 52. But they're gonna do Countdown, another weekly series that will lead to World War III. The Countdown starts at #51. Talk about messing up my numbering. DC really likes backward numbers. They did the same with Zero Hour, but this one's another weekly. Paul Dini will be writing Countdown, along with several writers. :D

Wait there is still another war to be fought on Earth? I'm confused... After the 52 weeks didn't Bats, Super, and WW come back? I always thought that any "war" could be avoided with those big three governing and that Black Adam was the "war."

Oh lawd I read World War Three without touching any of the others, because honestly downloading 49 comics on rapidshare is really stoopid, but I found mediafire links and I have to say they better answer every question I have now. Though seriously I liked the idea of Skeets being an evil robot a lot better then some cattipillar possed by an alien who is distinctively a Mr.

April 28, 2007, 12:53 AM
Yea I picked up world war three without following this series and I became an instant Black Adam fan, I hope he gets a regular series. It's kind of getting old with the regular cast, I think having the JSA and Black adam really gives DC what the need, some fresh blood that isn't "Nightwing/Supergirl etc"
Gold Knight
May 10, 2007, 07:50 AM
Yeah, it did take a while to download them all on rapidshare (I seem to recall somebody mentioning a way to get past the "waiting period" though...)
Skeets was definitely better as an evil robot than the caterpillar. I was disappointed about that aspect of it.
You guys should give the whole series a read-over sometimes, though. World War III doesn't even begin to describe how well-written the whole plot was.
[hr]
Well 52 is over... I have to admit ish. 52 seemed kind of underwhelming to me, I didn't expect it to end with a little private tug of war that only a select few knew anything about. But oh well, it was a fun ride :)

Thanks GK. I'm really a DC fan... But I usually read the comics after I've post them here... And lately I had my hands full at the office... That's why I've not given my two cents of the series... Glad you all enjoyed the comics... I did. But the only sad fact is that the series just ended where it started... the multiverse exists... :p... now what? :blink
I hope 51 will be good. :D

Y'know since I love Animal Man's character in 52, when I got the chance to read his personal comic I was astounded. I thought that 52 was original but Morrison's 1990's run of Animal Man really built the character and a lot of the concepts. I don't want to ruin it for anyone but continuity has always been a big gripe of fans, and DC tried explaining continuity flaws with the Crisis and then "fix" the continuity with 52. Anyways I'm just rambling and not doing the series justice but if your waiting for Countdown and have lots of time on your hand check out this upload.
