A group of six friends starts to drift apart when one of them ,Honma Meiko, also known as Menma, dies in an accident. Ten years later Jinta Yadomi ,who used to be the leader of this said group of friends and is now a shut in who can barely deal with society, meets Menma's ghost and is given a mission by her, to fulfill her deathwish.

Finally someone make a thread for this anime! This is one of my favorite this season, along with Hanasaku.What I really like in this anime is the characters. They're all got problems since Menma's death. And until the sixth episode, the clue to Menma's wish is still blurry. Maybe the wish is related to the name of this Anime, something about flower

Yeah, it's awesome but i don't get why in this forum it didn't get the attention deserved. i also think that, but if that was the wish, someone should have realized by looking at the condition of the group now. Also i'm still curious about Tsuruko and Poppo. Those two seem to be hiding something.

I believe it isn't her wish and yukiatsu already knows what it is or at least he knows a point of refference from where they can go.

For some reason I think Menma had an illness and was going to die anyway and that's the big secret related to the wish.

YES THIS ANIME ROCKS! I like it way more than hanasaku iroha(the other slice of life anime this season). I actually expected it to be a comedy anime before I started watching, big mistake! What I like most about this anime is obviously the characters(My favorites are a tie between jintan and poppo!) My theory of how it's gonna end is they all move on and menma disappears or the anime shows the whole Incident again but this time Menma survives and they show her all grown up and hanging out with her friends(overly happy ending I know).


P.S ending theme is great, opening not so much.

We don't know.I was surprised when i saw that they didn't mention anything about that,but i guess this show won't run for a long time.I'd say it will have another 5 episodes.

Also In Animenewsnetwork Anohana is ranked 4th best anime OF ALL TIME, kinda over rating it, I am not sure yet if this anime will go into my top ten favorites, most likely not.

This weeks episode was really sad at some points.
The kids must have felt really sad due to that unfair resentment Menma's mother has towards them.

I really felt sorry for Menma's brother.Poor kid.Probably suffers even more than his parents.

Also,i'm rather surprised that it took them so long to actually notice Menma's presence.When Menma was sleeping covered by a blanket,the blanket should've appeared to float.Of course,the others could not see what is inside Jintan's bedroom,but there were several more moments that should've revealed her.It's not like i mind,but still...

OMFG! This episode was adorable; it seems everyone had emotional breakdowns; even Tsuruko had a moment, and to think Poppo too *Just a slight gesture when he was talking to Menma.

I agree,this love triangle feels like an ass-pull and a pity excuse to make Tsuruko somewhat relevant to the plot.

If Tsuruko wouldn't be involved i wouldn't really care for this triangle anyway,since i'm not the biggest fan of Anaru and Yukiatsu.

OH MY .... Episode 10 is out and it was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!
Everyone came out with their feelings, INCLUDING Tsuruko. Jintan too; the ending was an effing tear-jerker. GEEEEEEEZ! I'm guessing the only thing keeping her back are Jintan and the peers oh and her mother I guess too. Since the fireworks failed -_-

Also; I think the thing menma wnated to tell Jintan on the day of her death had to do something about the whole reincarnation theory. Maybe she wanted to comfort him about his mother by saying that she could be reincarnated or something; but thats just a guess. Probably ireelevnt guess too but still.

Tsuruko!!What a cute new haircut.I liked her long hair,but i also like this hairstyle.Tsuruko was also great in this episode.Love how she got her deserved screentime.

The episode was quite touching,even though i didn't expect Menma to actually go already,so the surprise was not big.Wonder what will happen next,as they don't seem to have any clues at all.

I finally catched up with the episodes. Great series, I can't believe that it's really ending next episode :/ that would be a bit sudden, as I can't imagine how everything can be solved in just one episode. I'm relatively sure Menma will disappear if the group is completely reunited, not just physically but in a positively emotional way too. Her family could play a role too.

I agree with googlez, the whole firework scene was intense and touching even though it was very likely that she wouldn't vanish. Definitely looking forward to the next episode!

Please respect everyone's opinion and don't laugh at them :cookiestare If you think it's overrated I would be quite interested to hear your reasons, not just bashing it without an argument.


I really enjoyed the series and even though the last episode seemed a little bit too dramatic at some points, I won't deny that I shed a few tears :scry The story was heartwarming and always gave me a nice feeling after watching, it's a shame that it's already over. Would have loved to see a bit more on how the group is developing without Menma but I was satisfied with the ending. To sum it up, it's sad to see the series already ending but I'm glad I picked it up :thumbs
