Hey there, fans and readers of shoujo and josei series! :tem
After reading some shoujo and josei series, surely you've seen lots of pairings. Some pairings might not be very surprising since you can tell that they are meant to be together from the beginning of the series, but perhaps there are few other couples that you think is impossible but they eventually end up together or we see signs that they might end up together. XD
The definition of couples can involve romantic and non-romantic feelings. It can also affect boy-boy or girl-girl relationship.
For me, the one I remember is Eriol and Mizuki-sensei from Cardcaptor Sakura. Though we were given signs that Eriol is not as young as he seems to be, I still found it weird and unexpected that Mizuki would develop a romantic feelings towards him. Both doesn't seem to be the type who favors romance, especially Eriol. Well, who knows. XD

Hm... I don't remember the names of those characters much, though I did read CCS, phio. er... pics? hehehe. I do quite remember a lot of pairings from that series.
Most unexpected couple for me would be well, I don't know if it's spoilerific but Rin and Daikichi from Usagi Drop (http://mangahelpers.com/forum/showthread.php/39534-Josei-Usagi-Drop-by-Unita-Yumi). I never really rooted for them. >.> And I never ever conceived it to happen. Even now I kinda refuse to accept it but, oh well.

Another that I didn't expect to become a couple were Mine and Kiyora from Nodame Cantabile (http://mangahelpers.com/forum/showthread.php/8421-Josei-Nodame-Cantabile-%28and-the-Side-Story%29-by-Ninomiya-Tomoko). 1964 I thought Mine was never interested in romance at all, and Kiyora seemed like the woman who focused only on ambition. But this couple really worked. They're excellent together.

A picture then, as you requested. :3

Just the picture could make you feel like, "This is a couple?". :p
Ah, Nodame. I didn't read the manga or watch the anime, but I was following the live-action series. In live-action the bonding between Mine and Kiyora were not described that detailed, but I think I can see why you think so. Their characteristics are somehow different; the mostly-slacking boy + the mostly-serious girl. Yet as you said, eventually they ended up supporting each other. XD

oh right now I remember. Eriol and the teacher.
Wasn't there a romantic thing going on with the teacher and Sakura's brother? How did that end up?
Another pairing I never thought would happen was Hagu and Shuji
http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lk7arfMUTu1qj2bayo1_500.gif from Honey and Clover (http://mangahelpers.com/m/honey-and-clover). Because again, Professor Shuji is Hagu's uncle! To some degree maybe but whatever. And he took care of her like a foster father. True, Hagu was very fond of the guy, but I didn't think it was romantic at all. Because all through out the series she expressed interest in another character. She "settled" for Shuji in the end because Shuji was a stable grounded kind of guy and she needed that support.

Yeah, they were involved in a relationship before. Though, they broke up because Kaho said that they were not meant for each other. And that Touya (the name of Sakura's brother) would find someone other more important. Which turned out to be... I shouldn't continue. XD
After reading Skip Beat!, I'm really thinking that Mouko-san (or however her name should be spelled) has a special relationship with Hiou-kun later on. Not yet official, but the signs are there. It's just strange since they are (again) apart in case of ages quite much, but they look somehow good together. They support each other, give advices or helps when either of them need it. It's sweet, but every time I look at them I feel like "feels like mother and son". :P

I don't read h&c but I want to know this, did hagu go back to him and they are..like a couple?
I was pretty sure she and morita was so in love.
About usagi I only watch the anime..and.. okay, no idea what to make of that.
I want to erase it out of my mind..

aaaaah sorry! :sweatdrop... I'll put spoiler tags so that there will be no future mishaps... :sweatdrop
phio-chan, sorry for being such a failure!
I was pretty careless with these because they were already completed series. Did I totally ruin the experience for both stories for you, Zeltrax? :wtf

It's a pretty heart-felt series, and the anime stays very true to the manga. I should say I think even the anime would be more appealing.
