The same would apply on pervert Neji. I mean he would roam around the town with his Byakugan activated and would see whatever he wants.

I would say many guys would love to be in pervert Neji's shoes with his Byakugan.

Now that I think about it, couldn't Sasuke just be an asshole who wants to date Sakura because her father is the Hokage? Making it seem as though he wants to get closer to her father that way in order to get more power.

Nope.
Naruto wished Sasuke was among them (hence why he is in Konoha) and looking for love instead of hatred.

The personalities are defined by Naruto. He wouldn't make Sasuke bad in his fantasy.

Sakura is a princess to Naruto though. (hence why she is hokage's daughter) Naruto is confused about his feelings, he brought the whole love triangle in his fantasies (assuming that pic with Naruto reacting to Sasuke hitting on Sakura is an indication of what will be in the movie)
That's why Sakura had to have her real personality. She is needed to clean that mess. It will turn out she won't want the Sasuke Naruto gave her and will want to chose herself her man.

This is a movie, so I should dismiss it, but since it's written by Kishi, I don't know what to make of it. It looks like Kishi just resurrected the possibilit of NaruSaku.
Even if Sakura not wanting that Sasuke is not different from Naruto not wanting those other rookies, it shows that even if Naruto is somehow shipping SasuSaku, it shows he still cares deeply about Sakura.

what's this bullshit? I was expecting a special issue like the 565.5 of one piece,I was totally disappointed by this chapter. also, the time is not set well, since it should take place before sasori's death, but after naruto and sasuke's meeting in vol. 33
Pretty much all the previews for the movie have said things like, "and all the members of Akatsuki who should be dead mysteriously reappear and attack Konohagakure" or "why have these shinobi appeared when they are supposed to be dead?"

Also, the doujutsu Tobi uses in the film will probably be called "Finite Tsukuyomi" (Yuugen Tsukuyomi) based on the comments in the special chapter about it being a "finite, trial version" of the technique. Finite/Limited (Yuugen) as opposed to Infinite/Unlimited (Mugen).

The Manga chapter implied that the Genjutsu revolves around the desires in Naruto's heart.

So I'm assuming Tsukiyomi Naruto is a nod to the idea that it could very easily have been Naruto in Sasuke's place now, though I assume the black hair and what not is all because of the evil half of the Kyuubi.

But in the movie both Sakura and Naruto is trapped under Tobi's Genjutsu, their personalities are still intact and both of their desires appears in AU.

I've seen some scenes from the move. Both Sakura and Naruto realizes that they're in Genjutsu world, Naruto is very fond of that world and doesn't want to leave, but Sakura does. That's all I've seen.

Just FYI, the card is called "Masked Man" (仮面の男, Kamen no Otoko), so as speculated previously it's probably the form that the Masked Man takes in the Illusion World. Supposedly, it's the Illusion World's version of Naruto, a missing-nin with his hair dyed back.

He also seems to lead a group of masked creatures who are probably connected to the Akatsuki and/or Tailed Beasts somehow:

Byakko, the White Tiger
Suzaku, the Vermillion Bird
Genbu, the Black Tortoise
Seiryu, the Azure Dragon
Kinhebi, the Golden Snake
Nanto-sennin, the Sage of the South Star
Hokuto-sennin, the Sage of the North Star
Shinigami, the Grim Reaper
Tenyo, the Celestial Maiden
Kogitsune, the Little Fox

Shisui Uchiha also supposedly plays a role in the movie.

Your kidding me right?

Both Naruto and Sakura are trapped in the genjutsu world and Sakura desired Sasuke and wish for her love for him in return, thats what she wanted and she also wanted to feel special and not useless girl. Also wanted to a princess and not a common girl. I don't see Naruto wanting Sakura being a princess.

Just think why would he want Hinata to be jealous of Sakura and wanting to kill her?

New Footage - Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie Special (http://www.saiyanisland.com/2012/07/road-to-ninja-naruto-the-movie-special-new-footage-included/)

From the link that I posted above (I did not see that this link has been posted, for this reason I posted it here) there are 3 videos with parts of the movie and even with the comments of the Voice Actor of some Naruto's characters.
I am interested only what has been said when there are part of the movie.
These are the parts that I am interested in, I want to know these things:
1) The part where there is Sai (in the second video).
2) The part where Naruto punches the wall (if I remember well it's the first video).
3) I would want to know why Shikamaru and Chouji seem to fight, and why Ino tries to calm them down.
4) What has been said when Sasuke give to Sakura the flower (what Sasuke and Naruto say).
5) What says Hinata when Naruto and Sakura run away, when she whispers something to Sakura (when Sakura seem scary) and at the end of the third video, were most likely she teases Sakura, she most likely says that Sakura's breast sucks, that she pratically has no boobs.
For this this points I believe that I understood what Hinata says in the second and third parts, but I want the right translation.
What I want to know the most are what I wrote in the fourth and fifth points.

Under the 3 videos there are all the pics of the movie (the most importants had been already posted here).
I have seen all the pics posted under the video.
Too cute the pics with Naruto, Kushina and Minato together.
Hinata is really hot, but I like more the real Hinata.
In the last pics there is Shizune with big boobs and Tsunade with glasses and with no boobs.

What i don't understand is when this chapter was/is set. Naruto knows what Sasuke looks like yet all of the Akatuki members are still alive. Unless the genjutsu has already started by that point?

Anyways this was a great chapter and im looking forward to the movie.

Oh on a side note can we take Techniques that some characters use in this movie as canon? Like if Minato does something new for instance? I mean it is written by kishi...

Why? Are you afraid that in this movie minato has a powerful technique/s to trash itachi? Nah. Don't yah worry. it's still a non canon. And it can't be used as a proof in any of minato's fight. Well, it was according to his haters though.

I have a question regarding the special manga for this movie. In the page below, Neji is telling Naruto not to try and peep in the girls bath (5th panel). But there is a side text regarding Hinata's growth in that panel. Who exactly is saying that. Is that the voice coming from the girls bath or is it Neji who is thinking that.

It's the girls talking.

Although, i think it will be very funny to see a pervert Neji in the movie.
With his Byakugan, he would definitely be able to see through walls and peep the bathing girls!

Wow, lots of info but a lot of guessing guys. I will wait and see how this movie plays out. I am curious to see what Kishimoto does with this storyline. Let's also keep in mind that everything is upside down. I am just gonna sit back and see how this plays out. It does seem like this might imply Sakura and Naruto pairing but lets keep in mind that both Sakura and Naruto are stuck in this upside down world and they are the only ones who can probably get out of it somehow. I kind of think Naruto and Sakura is best friends, I compare their friendship to Harry Potter and Hermoine (sp?) from the Harry Potter series. Either I hope some nice Japanese fan will tape the movie and even if its BAD quality will upload it so we can at least view the raw video!

Actually i meant the videos which matsemann08 posted above (my bad for not being clear).

Well that aside, after seeing ep 271, which is connected to this movie in some sort of way, does that mean that in the Limited Tsukuyomi, Naruto and Sakura's life gets interchanged (it Sakura's parents that have died in there whereas Naruto's are alive).

Well that aside it also seems that Tsunade is the Hokage in the movie as well but she has smaller breast than the real one.

Yeah, it seems like Naruto probably wished that Sakura would be more understanding of his childhood, so in the Alternate Universe, she's the one that lost her parents.

As of Tsunade, she does have small boobs, I wonder why Naruto would wish for that, though...

I guess, there are some things that won't make total sense, either way... :tem

http://egaodezenshin.cocolog-nifty.com/photos/uncategorized/2012/07/23/13430419478621.jpg

The Masked Man (仮面の男, Kamen no Otoko) is an S-Rank Criminal that has been indescriminately gathering rare jutsu and kekkei genkai.

The scroll on the bottom left is called the Akatsuki Record (朱月の書, Akatsuki no Sho). Note that the kanji for Akatsuki is written differently from normal. Instead of 暁 ("Daybreak"), it's written as 朱月 ("Red Moon"). The Akatsuki Record is connected to the Masked Man, and Minato, Kushina, Kakashi, and Gai depart on a mission to track it down.

I was thinking if this genjutsu world only reflects Naruto's desire or Sakura's as well. Because Sakura's father being the hokage it doesn't sound like something Naruto would have wished, he doesn't even know him; or Sasuke being all flattery to her, or the interchange between Tsunade and Shizune's breast sizes (this one judging by the last episode:derp). Naruto can't be responsible for this, and since he and Sakura are the only ones aware of the illusion, this illusion has to be product of the desires of both.

Well it was more along the lines of me wanting him to get some new techniques so he would stop getting stomped on in all his treads but like you said its non canon. Probably wouldn't have mattered anyways.

No, it's definitely Naruto.

Naruto wanted Sakura to understand him, so her father became the Hokage and died, just like Naruto's father.
Naruto wanted Sasuke to create bonds, so he became a player.

Really, there's no way to explain Tsunade boobs reduction, but that's just Kishi wanting everyone to be the "opposite", even if it doesn't make sense.

I think Tobi just made it a bizarro world where everything is switched. Ino acts like Hinata, Hinata acts like Ino. Shizune has big tits, Tsunade has small tits (maybe Dan isn't dead here either?). Chouji is serious, Shikamaru is an ass (more like Naruto) and Neji is a perv. *shrug* I wouldn't put too much thought into why they are all different. Probably just arbitrary. Also, does Sasuke have any family here? Seems like that's the kind of guy he might have been if he didn't have a jacked up childhood.

I believe the main changes for each character are as follows...

Naruto: Illusion Naruto, also known as the Masked Man, is an S-Rank Criminal who has his hair dyed black. The toads hold a grudge against him.

Sakura: Illusion Sakura's father was the Hokage, and her parents died in place of Naruto's.

Sasuke: Illusion Sasuke is a playboy untouched by hatred and enjoys flirting with the girls, especially Sakura.

Sai: Illusion Sai is an aspiring painter with no talent for it.

Kakashi: Illusion Kakashi is energetic and youthful.

Rock Lee: Illusion Lee seems to be virtually unchanged.

Neji: Illusion Neji is a pervert.

Tenten: Illusion Tenten isn't good at handling ninja tools.

Gai: Illusion Gai is lazy and dull.

Hinata: Illusion Hinata is confident and seductive.

Kiba: Illusion Kiba is a cat-lover.

Shino: Illusion Shino is a bug-hating botanist who cares for carnivorous plants.

Shikamaru: Illusion Shikamaru is a dunce who is easily amused.

Chouji: Illusion Chouji is thin and healthy.

Ino: Illusion Ino is shy.

Minato and Kushina: Illusion Minato and Kushina are high-ranking jounin who go on a mission with Kakashi and Gai.

Tsunade and Shizune: Their physique's seem to be swapped. Tonton is also mean-tempered.

Akatsuki: Instead of an organization called Akatsuki ("Daybreak"), there is mysterious scroll called the Akatsuki Record ("Red Moon Record") which is connected somehow to the Masked Man. There are also ten masked fiends which generally appear to be inspired by the kanji on the Akatsuki members' rings.

Keep in mind that it's unlikely for the movie to be bootlegged (camrips are rare for Japanese films), however the Motion Comic DVD will likely be leaked online fairly soon.

I'll keep my eyes open for movie spoilers/summaries.

The Masked Man / Tsukuyomi version of Naruto is named Menma (メンマ). Note: Menma is a common topping for ramen, made out of fermented bamboo shoots. Menma is voiced by Takeuchi Junko, but with a deeper, growling voice compared to Naruto.

The movie's big battle is Naruto and Kyuubi versus Menma and Black Kyuubi and features shamisen music playing in the background (one fan called it a battle of a hundred shamisen). This seems to be the one part of the movie that's generated the most buzz.

---

There's a scene where Sakura returns home to an empty house with the only sound being a dripping sink, which is apparantly quite poingnant and helps her understand a bit more about Naruto (illusion Sakura is an orphan).

---

Some reviews are starting to show up online. Apparantly the movie's tone is a bit closer to Part I, with a mixture of action and comedy. It seems that there's also actually not a whole lot of fighting in the movie. The general consensus seems to be that it's a fun and entertaining movie.

---

A more detailed overview from a blog... Menma's mannerisms aren't too different from Naruto's. Illusion Kakashi is extremely enthusiastic as we know, but he also tends to enthusiastically overuse his sharingan. Illusion Neji does indeed use his byakugan to spy on girls in the bath house. Illusion Sasuke gives Sakura flowers and says some sweet things to her, but it's later shown that he says the same things to all the girls. Illusion Tsunade doesn't have her characteristic overwhelming strength. The city of Konohagakure also has a somewhat different layout.

The first major fight scene in the movie is Akatsuki versus Naruto's allies from Konoha in a forest, right at the start of the movie. It's an impressive big battle between two large united forces.

In the illusion world, Akatsuki isn't a criminal organization but rather a mercenary organization. They show up suddenly to provide support for Naruto and Sakura, leaping down from a cliff overlooking the battlefield. Their fight scene isn't that long, though. I'm not sure, but based on previous information on a scroll called the "Akatsuki Record," I think the organization is hired by Minato, Kushina, Kakashi, and Gai.

The final battle of the film is Naruto and Kyuubi versus Menma and Black Kyuubi. It's a huge battle and apparantly the big highlight of the movie.

Well thats good in a way i guess, because after reading how the story for the movie was turning out, i could only imagine one thing and that is seeing Naruto who has returned from the illusion to find himself alone once again and ending up breaking down and crying without any control over himself and Sakura standing there without being able to do anything for him.

Well that kind of thing would be considered as a Sad Ending which i guess they wouldn't want to use in a movie which mostly children would watch.

Okay, someone has posted a rough summary/review of the entire movie, which I'll try to organize here. It might not be completely accurate since it's a summary of a summary that someone wrote when they got home after watching the movie, so there are likely some details that are missing, in the wrong place, or that weren't remembered correctly. So just keep that in mind.

At the start of the movie, Naruto and the rest do battle with the "false Akatsuki" in the forest outside of Konohagakure and defeat them. Afterwards the shinobi return to the village and go into their homes, reuniting with their families and talking with their parents. For Naruto this is difficult, as he has no family. Naruto and Sai end up going home together. Naruto meets up with Iruka and they go out for ramen. Afterwards, Naruto decides to go back to his house to get some money to pay for the meal, and on the way to his apartment he sees Sakura run out of her house after having a fight with her parents. The two end up going to the park where they encounter the Masked Man, who uses a "finite" version of the Infinite Tsukuyomi on them.

Then suddenly Naruto and Sakura are in an alternate reality created by the illusion. Naruto and Sakura cross paths with Hinata, Kiba, and Shino, who are all behaving differently and have different personalities. Naruto and Sakura feel like something strange is going on. While walking down the street, they meet Ino, Shikamaru, and Chouji, who are also all different. For the first time, they hear that Sakura is the daughter of the Fourth Hokage. Sasuke is also back in the village somehow.

Everyone ends up going to the public bath house to relax and hijinks ensue, with a plot that's somewhat similar to the Road to Naruto the Movie special oneshot chapter, in which illusion Hinata taunts Sakura about her small bust, Neji peeps on on the girls, and Rock Lee gets blamed and is beaten up by Hinata. Afterwards, Naruto and Sakura decide to go home.

However, Naruto can't find his apartment. He's walking through the streets around dawn when purely by chance he runs into Minato and Kushina who are returning from a mission, along with Gai and Kakashi. It seems that Tsunade had sent them out to track down a scroll left behind by Jiraiya. Kushina and Minato recognize Naruto by a different name, Menma, and seem to have recently had something of a falling out with him. It seems that Naruto had been acting out and going through a rebellious phase and ran away. Now that he's "back home", he's in big trouble with Kushina, who is still upset about his behavior.

Meanwhile, Sakura finds her home empty and lonely. In this world she's an orphan, as her parents died protecting the village. So she now begins to understand Naruto a bit better. As she leaves the house, a mysterious man in a fox mask suddenly attacks Konohagakure along with several other enemies, and they kidnap Sakura. We learn that Jiraiya's scroll was the Akatsuki Record (here, Akatsuki is written with kanji meaning "Red Moon" instead of "Daybreak"). The Akatsuki are a neutral mercenary organization of some sort. Naruto witnesses the kidnapping.

Naruto tracks them and shows up to rescue Sakura. The Masked Man summons the Four Sacred Beasts (Seiryu, Suzaku, Byakko, Genbu), the Golden Snake (Kinhebi), and the Priests (Hokuto-sennin, Nanto-sennin, Tennyo, and Shinigami). Naruto and Sakura are overwhelmed and about to be defeated when suddenly the mercenary organization Akatsuki shows up, having been hired to provide them with support. Itachi rescues Sakura, and the various members of Akatsuki quickly defeat the masked fiends. With their help, Naruto is able to drive back the Masked Man and uncover his identity.

The Masked Man looks just like Naruto, except he has wild black hair and is named Menma -- he's the illusion world version of Naruto. It seems that he's allowed the evil influence of the Nine Tails to eat away at his mind and corrupt him. Menma summons Black Kyuubi and Naruto does the same thing, and there's a big, long battle between the two.

After the battle is finally over, Minato and Kushina rush not to Naruto's side, but to Menma's. Naruto turns and says farewell, returning to the real world with Sakura. Back in reality, they're found by Sakura's parents, who had gone looking for her after their argument, and were on there way to tell Tsunade that she was missing. Sakura is now eager to return home and spend time with them.

Naruto is left to return to his empty home, but the light to his house is on. When he goes inside, Iruka is there, and says "welcome home, Naruto."

The end.

Well that seems a tad lame. Just like with every movie of this nature for the franchise, their memory is conveniently erased by the end of it. Also, this movie made the alternate Naruto seem like a douche bag. He was acting rebellious and ran away? What kind of crap is that? Naruto's entire reasoning for possibly betraying the village is the fact that he has no parents. He and Sasuke were in the same boat, that is why there roles would be so easily reversed, or at least that's how the author described it. in this universe however, he has his parents but rebellion is what leads him to become an S-ranked criminal, Seriously?

Its a Naruto movie with a huge backing from Shonen Jump, I'll be surprised if it didn't do well. Especially with kids who read Naruto.

Anyways after reading the summary, it did end up being a mediocre movie imo if the summary is accurate.

Still better than the past Naruto movies but nothing amazing if it has a boring plot for the last bit of the movie with the mandatory big Rasengan to defeat the enemy.

Also bad usage of the characters if only Naruto and Akasuki fought at the end of the movie. I would have loved to see brave Hinata in action along with flirty Sasuke.

Of course I'll wait for the movie to come out here before making my true opinion.

I'd assume that Sasuke's fighting style would remain relatively unchanged given that "Menma" was basically this guy (http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v52/c492/17.html) with like, one new ability.

If that is the gist of the movie, i am disappointed. I was hoping for more rookies interaction, scenes where naruto can enjoy life with his parents, a true life where his parents were still alive; a life that makes him want to stay despite knowing it is an illusion. I was also hoping to see minato fight against akatsuki, mostly against itachi and pein.

If you catch my drift :teehee ( seriously I totally love this version of Sasuke )

As for Naruto having a Sharingan, probably because he's the Tobi of the AU world, so he... Probably... Acquired it, I really don't know.
It appears not stolen, since he activates it ( while a stolen Sharingan always remains active ), it will probably have some connection with the other baddies.

That's more than double the revenue of the previous Shippuden films. It charted on the international box office despite not being an international film. In Japan it was the third biggest box office, which is pretty good considering it was up against The Dark Knight Rises and the new Umizaru movie.

It'll also likely do far better in DVD sales than box office.

Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie has become the highest-grossing Naruto film, making 1.46 billion yen (about US$18.3 million) between its opening on July 28 and September 23. The film has been seen 1.25 million times.

The film had topped 1 billion yen (about US$13 million) in revenue 17 days after it opened.

The 2004 Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow film had previously held the record, grossing 1.37 billion yen (US$17.4 million). Last year's Naruto Shippūden: Blood Prison film earned 800 million yen (about US$10 million yen).

Not surprising Road to Ninja did so well. Road to Ninja had the most promotion and hype going into a Naruto film. Also the movie had roles for Sasuke, the Konoha 12, Naruto's parents, and the Akatsuki. So all fanbases were satisfied. And it had a gimmick with the alternate universe characters. It will be hard to top it.

My favorite movie is still Naruto Shippuden 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire. Another Kishimoto involved film.

The Japanese version will be released on DVD at the end of April.

The Korean dub just premiered in theaters last month, and someone recently streamed a screener of it on afreeca.tv (Korean livestreaming site). The stream was recorded by someone else, and that's been available on Korean torrent sites for about a week now.

Personally, I really liked it. The first hour and ten minutes or so is pretty light on action, mostly focusing on some drama and comedy with the weird circumstances of the Genjutsu World. However, after Menma attacks Konohagakure the action really picks up and there are some incredible battle scenes.

It wasn't bad. Some inconsistencies though... I thought it was a little 'cheap' how they made Tobi keep saying it was a test... almost as if that's supposed to help us, the audience, suspend reality about two people knowingly being trapped in a universe that isn't real. The whole thing sort of takes on a bizarre Matrix like quality. But some scenes were quite good. Other things were wildly inconsistent. It's like... you know when you have a dream, and you realize that some things in the dream can't possibly be real and that's when you realize you're dreaming, and in turn you wake up? That's how certain plot elements of this movie felt like to me.

Do we know if it *really* is a Genjutsu and not a created Dimension? One of the anime eps had RTN Sakura going to the real world, which seems odd for an illusion, my biggest gripe in the movie Menma being a rogue Ninja yet no one really reacting much to Naruto and going along with him being Menma, I'm not sure if I just missed something or the subs I saw were bad but that bit was confusing.

Other than that I really liked the movie and I was very impressed by how Menma fought, he made Naruto and even Pain look like trash most of the time.

Pretty nice movie indeed, much much better than most other movies. With a story like this you're bound to have a bunch of weird stuff and inconsistencies. What I enjoyed seeing most was how Naruto dealt with this world. Especially that moment where he hesitated to hug Kushina back but did so in the end, I thought that was really well done. The fighting was also not too bad, not the usual Naruto getting beaten up to a pulp for half the movie and then finishes with a magic Rasengan. Ok, he did finish with a Rasengan and that part was ridiculous, but meh.

I wanted to see more of Hinata though :(

It's a limited version of Infinite Tsukuyomi. Tobi said that the illusion was perfect, but distortions were created when Naruto and Sakura were inserted, similar to the way a rock creates ripples when it's dropped into a lake.

Nobody knew that the Masked Man was Menma, he disguised his identity with a mask and, presumably, a perpetual Henge no Jutsu to alter his hair.

I've said it before in an earlier review, but the first half of the movie is pretty mediocre. Too much focus on humor, and a lot of missed opportunities to showcase the fighting styles of the Genjutsu World counterparts.

From the moment Menma attacks Konohagakure the quality kicks up and the fight scenes are incredible.

Still, I can't help but wishing to know more about the alternate Genjutsu World, even if it was only a brief illusion cast by Tobi.

There is a drama CD that was released along with the film, Road to Charasuke, which is apparantly about Alternate Hinata scheming a double date with herself and Menma and Sakura and Sasuke, set on the morning after their arrival in the illusion.

Yeah but my issue is, how did no one notice he had vanished? It seems like he went rogue awhile ago, much like Sasuke did in the real world, how did no one know about all the stuff he could do? It would be like RTN Sasuke visiting real Konoha now and no one blinking at the fact he's there.

Given that Naruto was the subject of Tobi’s Infinite tsukiyomi, it should have been Naruto’s wishes that were fulfilled and the events that we see in the film are consequences of that.

But there are some changes that seem to be more directly influenced by Naruto’s wishful thinking.

1. Obviously, the most important one was that he wished his parents were alive. That was a direct influence that had the unexpected result that Naruto in that world grew up to be very talented but unlike his real world counterpart, he rebelled against his parents and village.

2. According to the prologue, Naruto seemed to think Sakura was taking her parents for granted and did not appreciate them, though he could not say it out loud. So, did Naruto wish to punish Sakura or made her understand what it feels like to not have parents?

3. The changes in his friends may come from irritation or just humour. Did he ever wish to know what would happen if Kiba/Akamaru and Shino/insects did not get along? Was he sometimes irritated by Shikamura’s genius that he wished what would it be like if Shikamaru would have been a fool?Or when Choji took most of the food during gatherings, did he wish Choji didn’t eat so much? Or if Sai wasn’t such a great artist when he was miffed that Sakura was giving him attention over his drawings? As for Neji's perversions, did Naruto ever wish what would happen if Neji had been like him? Rock Lee's cross-dressing through leaves me head-scratching, although the scene does mirror his entrance in the prologue.

4. One of the most interesting ones was Hinata’s change from timid to in-your-face, with Ino doing vice-versa. I don’t know whether Naruto at all wished for Ino to be less brash but he did wish Hinata to be more ‘strong’ instead of timid.

5. Sasuke also had an interesting change. Obviously Naruto wanted Sasuke to be in the village but did he also want Sasuke to be a Casanova just so Sakura would give up on him and come to Naruto for comfort?

While the others like Kakashi and the Akatsuki aren’t that important, this film does make one think that Naruto on some level thinks that having his parents alive might have led him to not have such a strong determination to become who he was and instead, he may have gone astray given the events of the film. And that on some level he knows that Hinata loves him.

Interestingly, there was no Tobi in Naruto’s dreamworld. It was only because he cast the jutsu that he was able to reside in the dream world in non-physical form or able to merge with dream-Naruto. So, did Naruto believe Tobi should not exist? After the confession that Tobi did manipulate Sasuke into taking revenge against Konoha, as well as Nagato, such a thought may have crossed his mind.

Given this film is non-canon, and may have been made without much thought process into the side-events(or even the main-events), I may be reading too much into this. But the film did take on an interesting concept for the Narutoverse- what would the world be like if Naruto had everything his way?

Suzaku

The only thing Naruto wished for was for his parents to still be alive. The illusion was originally a perfect copy of reality. When Naruto and Sakura were inserted into the genjutsu, it created "ripples" that distored the illusion. That's why the personalities of several characters changed.

That actually makes sense. Kind of like Superboy Prime's punches changing the events of the DC Universe, but not so stupidly done. But the insertion of Sakura's parents in Minato and Kushina's place is kind of surprising given that Kishi made them look like nondscript shinobi. There does seems to be a connection between Naruto's unspoken annoyance at Sakura taking her parents for granted in 'Prologue to Road to Ninja' and the replacement in the Illusion world

Well, Kushina and Minato have different personalities in this, too. The reason they're still alive is that they aren't heroes, and they value family over duty. That's seen when they're trying to stop Naruto from going off heroically on his own.

If I had to guess, I'd say that perceived weakness might be the reason Menma became estranged from them and left the village. That is, if we're assuming that there's any backstory there, and it's not just a spontaneous alteration to the world created as soon as Naruto and Sakura were inserted.

Despite the fucked up timeline and some questionable plot elements, I enjoyed it much more than the other.
The simple fact that the villains are not "filler-like", and that we already know them (Madara and Alternate-Naruto).

Simply because of the what-if scenario in every aspect brought a breath of fresh air to the events. Naruto's childhood, lack of parents yaddayadda is always a winner in my book, what the series was about initially.

Really, this movie is like a really awesome fanfiction, lol. I chose to ignore any nonsense like Kyuubis being "summoned" and running on air. The rest was great. Really enjoyed this movie.

My one major gripe about this movie is how Sakura was portrayed blatantly stupid for the plot sake. All so she could learn a lesson about appreciating her parents.

"Sasuke would understand my side." Oh really chick? Did he not get on you, kind of bitch you out for this exact same thing before? So ultimately, you're just talking out of your ass and being douche for literally no reason because you feel as though you know what the hell you're talking about. What a bunch of crap.

Yeah, I know I'm a little late to the party, but still that shit just kind of pissed me off. I mean Sakura hate aside, seriously?

I also didn't like the fact that every time somebody was about to make some type of revelation or at least talk to her about how she was acting some crap happens to interrupt them. That happened a lot within the entire movie.

Sakura was way too on her high horse to realize that "okay, Naruto is an orphan he's not had parents his entire life and it's been a bunch of crap for him. I'm also going to conveniently forget that Sasuke did indeed bitch me out about this very same thing, when we were 12. And subtly imply that I'd rather he be here instead of you"

Other than that I did like the what if scenario pretty well. What did annoy me though was them shoehorning in that shino didn't like bugs. I mean there was no actual indication like there was with Kiba. He just goes, "I hate bugs" randomly.

It's a pun. Whenever he gets ignored, he says "I hate bugs." In Japanese, "bugs" and "ignore" sound the same, "Mushi." So he basically says that he hates being ignored, but at the same time, it can mean that he hates bugs.

Well, went over my head. Then again, I don't really have a great understanding of Japanese. So it just appeared as though they were shoehorning that it.
