"The Best Death"

Making a great death is certainly one of Kishimoto's speciality. The death of the one who went by many titles : the Sennin of the Legendary Sannins, the Toad Demon of Myoubokuzan Moutain, the "Erosennin", was no exception to the rules.

The Gold Medal goes to...

~ Jiraiya ~

Welcome to the nomination phase of
Best Death

This thread if for this specific nomination only, for discussion regarding other categories and general discussion about the Awards, please visit the Naruto Awards Info & Discussion Thread (http://mangahelpers.com/forum/showthread.php/74664-Naruto-Awards-Info-Discussion-Thread).

A death can be 'best' in various forms. It can for example be epic/badass, heroic or sad.

Please remember, that you may nominate only one title for this award. However during the nomination phase, you can always change your nomination. For more information about how the Awards work, please check the opening post of the thread linked above.

For the nomination phase to run smoothly and to avoid situations where nominations weren't counted by accident, please state your nomination clearly. It is preferable to highlight the nominated title with red bolded text. Example: I nominate <insert title> for <insert category>.

Also please explain briefly the reason for your nomination.

Enjoy the Awards and thanks for understanding!

There aren't too many deaths in Naruto.
So, I will start by nominating : Jiraya's Sequel.

The Sequel deaths i.e. Nagato and Jiraiya, along with Konan and Yahiko. It was symbolic in a sense.

Jiraiya's death was pretty awesome. I don't count Itachi's death as awesome because he poked Sasuke's forehead and passed away. We didn't even know anything about that until way later after the fight. Though, Sarutobi's death could be considered good as well.

it can only be jiraiya's.

I nominate Jiraiya he deserves the best death, being able to gather his last energy to write that information on the frog, and his ever soo depressing fall at the bottom of the ocean thinking of a title for his next book.

I agree Jiraiya had the best death, he died from his former student and acknowledged/believed in Naruto before his demise. It was honorable indeed.

Totally jiraiya.

Itachi's death was also quite markable. But the drama in it gets destroyed by him being "alive" again.

jiraiya- the saddest.
hiruzen- the bravest.

I would go with Third Hokage's.
I was really crying when he died, especially after seeing it in the anime. They really made it look really touching.

And I pick Kisame...I didn't expect him to do that and I was sad cause I wanted him to show us some more badass stuff.

Jiraiya, it was the most saddening since he died for a greater good while having the chance to escape, meaningful since it was his death that made Naruto man up, and the most awesome, since he refused to die until he managed to relay his message to Konoha, thus enabling Naruto to defeat Pein/Nagato.
I also liked Danzou's death, he was a true shinobi, and the last panel with his and Sarutobi was damn good too

Tough one between Itachi and Jiraiya. I would have to say Jiraiya, since his fight was against a VERY powerful enemy.

Itachi....

Without explaining too much.... after reading those chapters... i didnt need to question myself as to why i suddently had just become a huge fan of this manga, i just was one from that moment on....

His death to me, simply outdoes anyone else's.... Jiraiya's was great and so was Nagato's.... but i guess it's because Itachi's was just so full of sorrow that it hit me that hard..

I didnt feel sad when Jiraiya died.... he was happy himself... he succeeded and left on a good note with everybody.... but Itachi on the other hand..... was no where near as a 'joyful' as this.....

So it's a Itachi then Nagato and Jiraiya for me.

Jiraiya hands down.

Every death was awesome, even those from villains, but Jiraiya was the only one that really moved me to tears...

Minato and Kushina was awesome too, but we already knew they would die, so the effect was less important...

My heart says Minato and Kushina but Jirayia's death has been best portraited so far and had the biggest impact ... so I nominate Jirayia's death

Uchiha Itachi. Because of the truth of Uchiha Itachi and insid3rkill3rs signature:

I'am going with Zabuza on this one. He just sliced through the crowd of thugs, ignoring any stabs and cuts and then massacred the arcs villain... all that with just a Kunai in his MOUTH and his arms disabled... thats the demon of the bloody mist for you! Then he basically turns 180°, goes calm, sentimental and peaceful and dies next to Haku's side.

Way to go out as a true badass.

Absolutely Asuma Sarutobi's death! How could one ever forget that emotional death und the funeral of him? That was the most emotional death of all Naruto characters deaths of all times.

Asuma Sarutobi

Jiraiya's. It was the best one, in my opinion, for the simple fact that it was the only one in the whole manga to make me tear up. LoL

I'm going for Asuma Sarutobi's death for this one.

Even though, Jiraiya and Konan were obvious choices.

Almost all death were great. A lot are even for me, each one contributing a lot to the story in its specific way. But I support Zabuza's death.

Going with Itachi. Jiraiya may have made the right decision too, but Itachi had his planned out since he was a teenager. For a kid to be so devoted that he already knew it was his job to die for his brother's sake took a level of wisdom and selflessness most full grown adults don't have.

I am stuck between Sarutobi that brought a tear to my eye and JMan that almost made me quit reading this manga.

But considering that i am forced to pick one i have to go with JMan as it was more recent and i remember the feelings better:P

minato/kushina somewhat it was sad to watch them die even if we knew from the beginning they were dead.

can they count as one or have i to choose one of them?
cause i mean they died at the same time thanks to tobi and kyuubi ^^'

Rarhyx, I'd count both as I'm nominating them too. Minato & Kushina. The best death in my opinion was Jiraiya's, hands down. Itachi's was also spectacular because of the circumstances behind it and the revelations and "this is the last time, Sasuke" scene post-mortem. But Minato and Kushina need nominations too. Their death was just beautiful even though we knew they were dead. Kushina's speech in particular was touching, it was sad to see them be so sad about dying and not being able to raise Naruto. You could really feel a parent's love during her speech.

I think the saddest death was Minato's and Kushina's death....the entire sequence leading up to their deaths, especially when they say farewell to Naruto is very touching

And here I thought you would give a honorable mention to Orochimaru's awesome and epic "death". Way to troll a character :derp

Honestly, it's hard to count Itachi's death since we only knew about the circumstances from Tobi.

Jiraiya's death was amazingly done, especially in the end when he realized who the chosen one was and had faith in Naruto. Plus, he finally stopped feeling like a failure. I think Jiraiya kinda summed up what made Naruto one of my favorite characters and manga.

Well his death wasnt pointless, he wanted to kill nagato but then remembered what j-man though thim about hatred. So forgave nagato instead killing him.
Trough his death he learned not to go the same way sasuke choose

Jiraiya. His end was awesome. I wouldn't have cared much about his death if I didn't know about his history. Minato and Kushina went out like pros, and Kakashi went out in a great shinobi way, as did Hiruzen. They all died like true shinobi, sacrificing themselves for others. Out of those people, only Kakashi was revived.

I think Minato& Kushina 'cause they gave their live to save Naruto. That was one of the saddest occurrence in this manga :crying It was very touching seeing them protect Naruto from Kurama .
But i also think Itachi's death was one of the best . Until then i really hated the guy but his death marked me deeply :(
