Looks like Charlie, Wowzers, Uchihahunter, and myself were correct in voting that the aura was coming from the 12th Elder a couple of weeks back. Congrats to all(*pats self on back*).

Also sorry for the long summary this week, for some reason summing up this particular chapter was hard to do and came out significantly wordier than I would have liked.

Now onto the review!

Chapter Summary

And this is why you should never piss off Shin Woo's future girlfriend.

This week begins with everyone reacting to Frankenstein, Raizel, and Seira's arrival. Sangeen and Yontsu recognize them from the school and are understandably surprised, while the 12th Elder and his Cerberus Captain assume they are Crombel's people. Raizel also identifies the weak aura he felt earlier as belonging to on of the traitorous nobles, one called "Roctis", and tells Frankenstein that it's coming from the man we know as the 12th Elder.

Regis, injured as he is, makes sure Seira escorted Shin Woo and the gang home and is somewhat apologetic that they would miss out on her cooking tonight. Seira entrusts the injured Regis to M-21(who is on his feet AGAIN!) and turns her icy gaze to the Cerberus Captain, who tries to talk smack about ruining Seira's pretty face but Seira simply replies that she has no interest in her face.

The 12th Elder starts to feel that something is off and instructs Taze, the Cerberus Captain, to take them all out immediately. As Taze heads towards Frankenstien and Raizel, Frankenstien tells his master that he must absolutely not use his power but Raizel says nothing and looks ever at the wounded. Fortunately, Seira steps forward and says that she will take on Taze.

Taze attacks but is quickly pushed back by Seira. Then Taze does something unwise, she starts talking about her death scythe. Seira in response takes out the real Death Scythe. Taze mocks the Death Scythe's appearance declaring that hers is so much better(also unwise). Seira simply responds that she has no interest in Taze's death scythe. This infuriates Taze who attempts to overpower Seira with a scythe stroke(extremely unwise). Seira's counter-stroke with the true Death Scythe is so powerful it splits earth, sky, and everything in between. With her scythe in pieces Taze collapses.

This pisses off the 12 Elder big time, he decides to just kill them all himself and tells Rodin to keep any from escaping. Frankenstein asks his master for permission to take care of this and Raizel agrees and grants him permission to use full power.

As Frankenstein unleashes his aura everyone is suddenly aware of the monster in their midst. Even his footsteps leave marks of his black aura as he approaches the 12th Elder. On his way he politely tells Seira that he will handle the rest and asks the 12th Elder what a Union Elder is doing here. Rodin takes offense at the question for some reason and charges. In response, Frankenstien turns the man into a pincushion with black aura spears and lets out an evil chuckle.

As Frankenstien continues forward he mocks the elder for letting his injured underlings fight his battles. The 12th Elder gets pretty pissed and growls the words "You insolent little...". Frankenstien walks up and stands toe to toe with 12th Elder, asking him "How dare you call me names?", with a huge evil grin on his face.

In the background Raizel sighs. Frankenstein is clearly having entirely too much fun with this.:^_^

Uh oh, he's got that look....the one that proceeds billions in property damage.

Substance

This can no longer be considered a battle, this is JUDGEMENT DAY!

Seira's unassuming personality makes it easy to forget that she is Lukedonia Clan Leader and that, when its time to fight, she does not screw around. I was hoping for Taze to pose a bit more of a threat but I guess Cerberus was never at a level where they could take her on. Her fight with Taze was a mismatch from the word go, the poor idiot never had a chance.

Frankenstein, also seems satsified that his master is safe for the moment and intends to fully enjoy the apocalyptic ass whoopin' he is about to impart. He is in full "happy sadist" mode now. I don't know how strong the 12th Elder is but he's about to get hit with a hurricane of gleeful sadistic wrath.

Speaking of the 12th Elder, it seems like he really is the source of the faintly familiar aura Raizel detected; the aura of this "Roctis" person. Which means that the 12th Elder somehow got his hands on a portion of a traitorous noble's power. This draws a pretty firm connection between the Union and the Traitors.

Presentation

A pretty chapter artistically. The artist clearly has a passion for drawing Frankenstein and it shows. His part of this chapter looked amazing. Seira's fight looked less so, but still quite good; especially the scale of Seira's scythe slash. It really left no doubt just how completely bad-ass she is when she wants to be.

Pacing was a little slow, with a bit more standing around talking than is typical of combat chapters in Noblesse; but most of it was taunting and trash talk so that's ok.

I'm not entirely pleased with how easy Taze went down, it seemed a little anticlimactic to me that Taze never even so much as scratched Seira. I would have preferred that fight be a little closer instead of Seira just stomping her but at least it was a very cool stomping.

Final Rating
This was a very fun chapter. Seira and Frankenstein dusting off their smiting hammers and put boot to ass but the one-sided nature of all the combat limits my enjoyment of it a little.

So I give it a 4 out of 5

My Predictions

Frankenstein is going to absolutely destroy the 12th Elder.

My Previous Predictions(Current Record 12-15)

The aura Raizel recognized is coming from the 12th Elder somehow.
Correct. We have confirmation this week that he is the source.

The Cerberus Captain is going to learn the hard way why you don't mess with Shin Woo's girl, and die by Seira's hand.
I'm saying correct for the time being, but if she isn't dead and gets up again at some point I'll come back and overturn this.

Rael will lose his next battle to the RK-4.
I think Lee Youn-In is going to be more than just a soon-to-be-forgotten sub-character. I suspect she may have a role in the plot.
The female operative from the Union will eventually end up on Raizel's side, like M-21 and the others.
Rael will show up at Raizel's school seeking revenge on him and his human friends.
The Agency Director is evil(obviously).
Na Yontsu will get mixed feeling about recruiting Shin Woo and Ikkan.
Raizel will ultimately choose to use himself up completely in order to help his friends.
The trainees that disappeared are dead or worse.
Sangeen is going to be killed by Cerberus.
The 12th Elder will not leave Korea alive

Thread Question of the Week
Does the 12th Elder have any chance at all against Frankenstein?

Nice review again Jammin. The poll question was difficult to choose. I was having a hard time between poll questions 1, 3, and 5 ^^.
Questions 4 seems very possible as well.

Thread Question of the Week

Now we have an elder with hints to the power of a clan leader... that's pretty darn interesting. I'm thinking that the traitor clan leaders gave their powers to human - descendents so that even if they pass on (die), their powers will still be alive. I'd like to see the 12th elder whip out a Soul Weapon.

In their fight I hope to see the 12th elder put up a good fight but at this point I'm not sure how he will fare.
I hope Raizel realizes that they're being manipulated by Yuiry and stops the fight before Franky kills the 12th elder.
I don't want the elder to die and Crombell and Yuriy to have an easy win.

Thanks for the great review Jammin.

I think that the 12th elder may be Roctic's 'servant', so he has the slight hint of possessing Roctic's aura. I think that option number 1 probably will happen. Though if that doesn't happen, I think a combination of #3 and #4 may happen. The 12th elder might be weaker than Franky, and when he realizes it, he takes the RK-4 hostage. In rage, Franky loses control and Rai has to take this matter into his own hands. XD

Your poll is always hard! /is upset I can't choose. :scry

I was hoping for Taze to pose a bit more of a threat but I guess Cerberus was never at a level where they could take her on. Her fight with Taze was a mismatch from the word go, the poor idiot never had a chance.

I truly expected something more from her. She was still in her prime condition, no one actually touched her much before. It is very disappointing. Not that I don't want to see Seira wins, of course, but I was looking for an awesome battle from these two. Especially after her big talk.

Rodin is down now, the elder should be more careful even if he is strong. Because Frank is not only strong, but mad. :derp

I wonder if this is really the case. Very interesting idea. I wonder if Rai could sense it perhaps because this elder had met Roctis before and interacted with him long enough that the 'smell' of the aura stayed..?

Does the 12th Elder have any chance at all against Frankenstein?

I believe he has a chance although it is probably 0.00000000001%, LOL~ He couldn't be an elder without no skill at all. Thus I believe he had a bit, enough to resist Frank a while, but eventually Frank will crush him, alone or with Seira's help. :P
